Those big grand romantic gestures are hard to pull off if both parties aren't equally invested. When relatively new boyfriend Nick proposes to Lucy on TV, there is big backlash at her no and she heads to a quieter part of England. In Cornwall, Lucy meets a surfer who seems more her match. It took a bit to get into the story.

I did not finish this book, and will not be officially reviewing it. I struggled with the plausibility of the storyline, and really did not like Nick. Phillipa's writing it always lovely, I just did not enjoy reading this story. Thanks so much for the opportunity to read it.
