Rahabs story is in Joshua 2 and Joshua 6:22-24.if you don't know it already- Rahab was a prostitute who was living in Jericho during the time that the Israelite were preparing to inhabit the land that God had promised them. She hid the Israelite spies from the king's men who were looking for them and in return, they promised to save Rahab and her family when they stormed the city after the walls fell,
The book reminds us that these were just regular people like you and me and that God love and forgiveness is greater than our sin and theirs.
I disliked this at first, until I really started reading Autumn’s heart
Autumn Miles was aiming her shots right where I sat years ago, but I wasn’t hearing it at first. I had a hard time relating to her story’s emotional level, because while I came through an abusive childhood and other baggage, it’s been behind me for a long time now and even thinking about it seldom brings full-on pain. But that is now. But then I started reading I am Rehab as if I were reading it back THEN, back when there wasn’t any help or support, back before I had any healing, back when I hated the world and suicide was a comforting option. And all I could think was that there are women who seriously need to read this book and truly hear Autumn’s message, and it simply made me cry.
Autumn is a passionate advocate for women and the takeaway from her book is far too important to miss. There are those of us who have lived in shame, made bad choices, been hurt by others, been taken advantage of, and who feel that those choices, those circumstances, have defined us. But it isn’t who we are. It’s not who we can be. God knows that we are heroes, capable of anything he needs, and worthy to be respected and placed in the lineage of Christ.
I feel so strongly that there are women who really need to read this book and hear Autumn’s message that I am buying a hardcopy of this book. I can’t decide if I should leave it in my church library where multiple ladies will have access to it or leave it at Goodwill or the local library for a random woman to find. All I know is that I feel compelled to leave it for someone who needs it to find. I pray God will tell me where it needs to go when it gets here. There’s a lady waiting to read it.
"I am Rahab" is a non-fiction, personal growth book by Autumn Miles. Miles uses the Biblical character and King David's great-great-grandmother to show how the Bible is filled with sinful people who were no different as we are. But God is able to redeem even the most sinful and broken of people to be used for great purposes.
If you're not familiar with the story, Rahab was a prostitute who was living in Jericho during the time that the Israelites were preparing to inhabit the land that God had promised them. She hid the Israelite spies from the king's men who were looking for them and in return, they promised to save Rahab and her family when they stormed the city after the walls fell. You can see her story in Joshua 2 and Joshua 6:22-24.
Miles goes chapter by chapter explaining how while we are more like Rahab, God will set us apart and use us for His purpose in spite of our flaws and disobedience. She encourages the reader that God's grace is big enough even for the worst of us and that we are not alone and stand amongst some of the biggest heroes of our faith. Encourage yourself, friend, and read "I am Rahab".

I am reviewing a copy of I Am Rahab through Worthy Publishing and Netgalley:
In I Am Rahab we are reminded that most of the Heroes in the Bible were ordinary people who sinned, they weren’t perfect. But God’s Love, mercy and truth was greater than their sin.
This book will help us to better understand God, focusing on his reach to redeem all things for his purposes and the good of his children.
I give I Am Rahab five out of five stars!
Happy Reading
This is definitely a book worth reading! I have always loved the story of Rahab and how her bravery and faith in God redeem her life. This book uses the story of Rahab, and bits and pieces of her story to speak about some powerful truths about God. The author talked about the important of spending time daily in the word of God, being willing to take risks to follow God's will, how God uses those with willing hearts (despite our flaws), and being willing to sacrifice for others (among many other valuable points). She included a lot of helpful and relevant scripture references, as well as discussion questions at the end of each chapter. The only thing that I would change is that I wish that she would have included more of her own personal story. She told bits and pieces, but I would have loved to know more so that I could connect with the author on a deeper level. But I did enjoy reading the book, and I would give it 4 stars.
I could not wait to read this book. I downloaded it as quickly as I could, and devoted an entire afternoon to diving in for some healing and truth. The only problem is, I stopped about halfway through the book, frustrated and disappointed.
In the author's attempt to describe her past with grand descriptors, she came off sounding disingenuous . As somebody with a painful past, I needed her authentic humanness. What I ended up with instead was a woman trying too hard to sound like an author.
