I did not pick this up for the diet advice - I picked it up purely for the nutritional sections. It gave solid information and sage advice, particularly on fats and carbohydrates (simple versus complex) and forms of exercise. I did not read the recipes word for word but they looked pretty simple to prepare.

This was an overall interesting book although I found that some information was too detailed. In all honesty, I feel like educating yourself on ingredients, nutrition and basic knowledge about health is super important but the information in this book felt overwhelming at times.

I’ll apply some of the principles of this book in my daily life and I was happy to see that some of my habits were good and had some concrete evidence behind them.

I give this book 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ As it is good but not ground breaking either.

A easy to follow diet book with plenty of scientific "why's" of why your body needs and does this and that.

Not for me. This eatplan excluded my favourite foods and was too complex. I am afraid I simply do not want to go down the low carb route. Very American.

Of course the title intrigued me. I liked the science of the program. I didnt like the sales pitch of supplements and mixes. I agree with some other readers, that A-List also means having the financial ability to follow the program as it's written. I would have liked to have seen recommendations for how I could duplicate the results using more affordable alternatives. Well, maybe someday, but not immediately. In the meantime I will try and apply some of the science Ive encountered and hope for the best.

The diet was interesting, but the supplements that were suggested were hard to find and very expensive. I guess not all diets are created equal. Stick to decreasing intake and exercise is the beast method.

Fantastic well written and informative. Could see this being a huge hit. The diet seems doable and many need to be following this

I liked that, unlike some diet books, this book provided the science behind why the system worked. I don't like fad diets and I don't like diets that seem to just be a shot in the dark. So hearing the science that supports the recommendation was great. At times, however, the book was too science heavy.

I truly wanted to give the diet a whirl, but had a hard time getting on board with all of the supplements required to actually commit to the diet in full. In considering the diet, I researched what it would cost to try the protein boosts, and it was going to require a $60 investment in supplements just to buy the smallest amounts to give it a go. That seemed like a lot. Not to mention that I wasn't totally comfortable with consuming so many supplements rather than getting my nutrition through whole foods.

That said, I did give the diet portion of the book a try. I have been following the plan for 1 week and have lost 4.5 lbs. A positive start! It's not that I've quit the plan, rather I'm leaving the review after being one week in. If the plan was followed to a T, I'm sure that there would be more significant results.

An easy to follow diet. Makes an interesting read about the wrongs and rights in dieting.
Simple recipes and meal plans laid out for the week ahead.
Perfect for anyone that wants straightforward mealplans on a diet .

I do not think I am the target audience for this book.

As much as I would love to spend my money on dietary supplements, I do believe that eat less, move more is more of a way to go.

The book however is quite easy to follow, and I did enjoy skimming through it. This may work for some people but just not for me :)

In more places than i can count this book is hard to understand without a solid background in science. With basic common sense when it comes to food.

I should have known better. This started off with promises to offer specific, more natural dietary suggestions based on age/gender. Immediately, there are 6 different supplements one must buy, not to mention lesser known ingredients. Unless you do indeed have a great deal of disposable income and a personal chef, this is not helpful. Or maybe I’m the only person whose cupboards do not contain sea cucumber caviar. Seriously?!

There is a demographic of people who will buy this book. That is the wealthy housewives who have the time and money to utilize a diet like this. Many things are common sense with bigger terminology and science. However a lot of the foods are hardly accessible or affordable for a normal middle class family. This is especially true for a family with small kids and I’d have to double my spending each week at the store and make another meal for the kids after making my own. Not practical. But many diets include fasts and similar but simpler meal plans and this is in the same category as those, just a bit more upscale. I’m not the right demographic for this but many are.

The A-List Diet takes the low carb movement to another level with “protein boosting.” What sounded promising at first ends up being complex and heavily dependent on supplements. Pescatore’s regimented approach may appeal to some dieters, but I suspect many will be turned off.
