Amazing start to this new series! Gray & Allye are perfect for each other! I love them together! From their hot and sexy times to the support and strength they give to each other. Allye is smart, sassy, fearless and strong; I love that in a heroine! Gray is a strong, sexy bada$$ former SEAL and lucky for Allye he is now a Mercenary whose team rescues people from bad situations. He rescues her from that boat to hell she was on and their time together to get to safety becomes something neither of them can forget. But that is just the beginning of Allye’s nightmare. Seems she is the object of the bad guy’s obsession and he won’t stop until he gets her again.
The villain in this story is such a sick bastard. I wanted to pluck his eyeballs out and feed them to him among other things.
This story is so good and so well written! And has an awesome and rewarding HEA. I am really looking forward to the rest of the guys in Mountain Mercenaries finding their HEAs!! They seem like a great bunch of guys! Especially Ro who from the epilogue looks like he is up next!
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book!

This was story was an intriguing read for me. The mixture of romance and suspense was well-balanced. I liked the character of Allye and how strong she was. She had some terrible things happen in her life but she takes it all in stride. I liked Gray less than Allye but he was still a good character overall. The story's dive into sex trafficking was interesting and disturbing as well. I felt like what was described was realistic, so it was hard to read imaging what people go through in that situation. That being said, this was a read I'd recommend.

I receieved an ARC from Netgalley and here is my honest review. I was so excited for this to come out and it made my day to get it. Once I started reading I could not put it down I loved it and finished it in less then a day.

This is the first book in Susan's new Mountain Mercenaries series. The hero is Gray Rogers. He rescues Allye after she is kidnapped by a human trafficker. Gray hasnt been able to forget her and is so happy when she follows him home.

Allye thinks that her stay with Gray the navy seal is only temporary. The human trafficker that had her kidnapped is making people disappear off the streets of San Francisco. Allye could be the key to stopping the whole operation. She is willing to risk whatever it takes to stop them, Gray isn't. He doesnt want anything to happen to the woman he loves. With his team of mercenaries at his back and the woman he loves at his side will it be enough to keep her safe and stop the traffiker from hurting anyone else.

I really reccomend you check this series out. Its a great story. I loved it and I know it will be a book I read over and over again for many years to come. I cannot wait to read the next one!

I received a copy of this via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

There is something about a Susan Stoker book that just makes me feel good!

I adore her sassy and layered heroines. I like that they are unique in how they deal with situations and that they are not cardboard cutouts. I also enjoy when they are sassy in danger, because who doesn't love sass, other than creepy people collectors who keep women under a wild animal preserve... but any who.

I loved the plot of this story and I thought the characters were well rounded and enjoyable. I liked that Gray while a SEAL was disillusioned by it and fit into his group seamlessly. I liked Rex and the whole group of Mountain Mercenaries. I'm looking forward to the rest of the groups stories and getting to know them better.
I also liked that this was a spin off of the Ace's security world. I enjoy when authors can create world or spin-off from small parts of other stories.

Susan Stoker had a solid home run with me on this book. I liked the dialog and the trails the couple went through as well as the world building and characters. Thank you for the opportunity to read this!

Absolutely loved this book. Susan Stoker alpha men always make the story. Gray falls for Allye right off the bat while rescuing her. The twists and turns of keeping her safe fall on gray and his coworkers. A must read.

Allye is a dancer and is kidnapped. Gray was former SEAL and now is a part of Mountain Mercenaries. They are trying to shut a human trafficker down when he finds Allye. She goes back to California but forgets to give Gray the memory stick she took before the boat sank. She calls his boss and he gets her to Colorado. Gray is shocked but happy she’s there.
Now the person who had her kidnapped is taken girls from her dance studio until she comes back. She’s scared but she’ll do anything to keep her friends safe even if that’s offering herself up as bait. Gray is not happy and they fight. Can he get her back and shut down the trafficking?
Excellent story. This is the first in a new series and it is already off to a great start. Sex. Mystery. And a boss who no one has meet and disguises his voice over the phone. Reminds me of Charlie from Charlie’s Angels but with men 😁.

I have read of few of this authors first books and while I liked them this book really shows how much she has grown as a writer. I enjoyed both Grey and Allye and liked them as a couple. I am usually not a fan of the insta love story, but this one just worked. I think it had to do with how they met all that they went through that made it so believable. The ending was a little abrupt for me but maybe that was just because I was not ready for it to end. I look forward to reading more about the Mountain Mercenaries and can't wait for the next one.

Awesome start to a new series. Already hooked. If I had to complain about anything it was the chapter lengths. Some were short while others seemed long with a lot meshed in them.

ARC received for review

Great first book to what is going to hopefully be an amazing series.

Gray and Allye were amazing together and smokin hot. I loved how she spelled her name every time after she was introduced to someone new. Allye had a sh*t childhood which made her very strong. She was perfect for Gray. Now the bad guy, Nightingale, was a seriously messed up mo-fo, and had his sights set on Allye. Gray and his crew of course swoop in and save the day. Great epilogue and the teaser chapter for the next book makes me want it now.

Yes please, more please. The Mountain Mercenaries put the fear in anyone even thinking of hurting a woman or child. Allye is fortunate that Gray's the one to rescue her. He believes in karma, while Allye would love to believe it. Unfortunately bad karma is the only thing that comes her way.
I can't wait to read more of this series.

A STUPENDOUS BRAND NEW SERIES FROM SUSAN STOKER! Defending Allye is the first book in Miss Stoker's Mountain Mercenaries series and its INCREDIBLE! This new book was such a great read. New heroes who are all alpha, sexy, caring and just the BEST at what they do. And the missions these guys go on, the action is heart-stopping and intense and will have you BEGGING for each of these guys books.

Now Defending Allye is Gray's story and the woman he rescues on his mission is a seriously strong and brave heroine..and she is certainly beautiful and so talented too. I fell in love with this storyline and plot! With all the sweet, seductive romance and nail-biting suspense with a sigh worthy HEA, its no wonder I am giving this story such high praise. This new series is just as good, if not better than Susan's Ace Security series. readers will fall head over heels for these Mountain Mercenaries! I am already looking forward to book 2!

Defending Allye gets an AMAZINGLY WRITTEN FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

LOVED this book!!! The Mountain Mercenaries is another winning series by one of my favorite authors. This novel has Gray rescuing Allye from a human trafficer - only she was specifically purchased to become the "pet" of a psychopath. When Gray rescues her, they form a tight connection, but that connection is put to the test when the psychopath takes drastic steps to get Allye's attention.

I loved the characters in this novel. I particularly liked the back story on the characters. The author made them feel real and with depth. She made me care about them and feel invested in their story. I was literally flipping pages just as quickly as possible. This one is a must read for fans of the genre. The author is on my must read authors' list.
