Loved this book. Sabrina is snarky, sarcastic and oh so wonderfully. Matt is quick, witted, funny and I think sweet. I love them as couple, as negotiators, enemies, friends and lovers. This is such a good book in a superb series and I can't wait for more. So many beautiful details, and meaning without words ( there is a desperation to the goodbye hug, goodbye to the way we were…..oh my)

Hard Sell by Lauren Layne is a great read and I loved everything about it.

The storyline was entertaining, the characters were likable, engaging and my interest was captured from the first page until the end.

Another wonderful read by the talented Lauren Layne and a great addition to the 21 Wall Street Series.

*A big thank you to the publisher via Netgalley for the advance copy.*

Matt Cannon is rich and the youngest broker on Wall Street. He may be the wonder kid, but when his latest fling makes scandalous headlines, his clients get anxious, and his bosses at Wolfe Investments give him an ultimatum to clean up his act.

PR genius Sabrina Cross is the best fixer in Manhattan but finds Matt to be a challenge. Combining their past history with their pretend game will lead to some explosive results.

Another fantastic story from Lauren Layne! Loved the chemistry between Matt and Sabrina, plenty flirtatious and sexy, with witty and snappy dialogue. It does help that they're already friends, when Matt needs a "girlfriend" to help clean up his image. Despite their years-long friendship, there is an undercurrent of something more that could happen between them.

The whole "Wall Street" world is not really my thing, but I looove these characters, even more than the first couple. I enjoyed their banter and chemistry, they were great together.
I'm really excited for the next book. I've been waiting for that couple!

Having read and loved several of Lauren Layne’s series, she’s become one of my go-to authors for romances that are fun, flirty, sexy, and sophisticated. Her New York-based series, 21 Wall Street, may be new, but the tightknit group of characters – from the Wall Street hotshots to the strong, independent women that keep them on their toes – have become instant favorites. After watching the sparks fly between Matt and Sabrina in Hot Asset, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that the two of them would be paired together. Their constant bickering and the palpable sexual tension between them promised to deliver a scorching hot enemies-to-lovers romance and that’s exactly what Lauren Layne gives readers with Hard Sell.

After his playboy, partying reputation puts Wall Street boy-wonder, Matt Cannon, in hot water with his employers, he enlists the help of fixer, frenemy, and occasional lover, Sabrina Cross. Matt is required to have his public persona overhauled and what better way to show he’s reformed than a serious girlfriend (albeit a fake one)? What should’ve been a strictly platonic, emotionally detached relationship is complicated not only by their potent chemistry but by the hurt feelings and unresolved issues lingering between them. As unconventional as their new arrangement may be, it forces Matt and Sabrina to confront their past and acknowledge the undeniable connection and unbridled passion between them that refuses to be ignored.

With a fast-paced, compelling narrative, characters that are complex, endearing, and entertaining, and a romance that's sexy and slow-burning, Hard Sell is another unforgettable installment in Lauren Layne's 21 Wall Street Series. Matt and Sabrina are two characters that’ll tug on your heartstrings and have you rooting for two cynics to get their shot at a happy ending. Hard Sell is a book you can easily devour in one sitting, leaving you satisfied once you’re finished, but still wanting more...namely Kennedy’s book. I. Can't. Wait!

After reading the first book in this series, 'Hot Asset', I have been dying to know the history between Matt and Sabrina’s characters. These two couldn’t even be in the same room for two minutes without some type of bickering! Needless to say, my anticipation was high going into this, and it did not disappoint. Lauren Layne’s 'Hard Sell' is yet another super sweet, fun, and sexy romance in this 21 Wall Street Series!

My goodness, Matt and Sabrina totally cracked me up in this story! Their characters both had such a charm and grace about them, unless they were actually dealing with each other. Then their fangs would come out of nowhere, full of feisty venom and nastiness. Forced to now spend copious amounts of time together to pull off their charade, they had to deal with their past but were also re-acquainted with their already established friendship of sorts. Then, of course, there was that attraction to each other to contend with as well...

Layne’s writing is just so refreshing with her fun storylines filled with heart and feeling. This was unique in that she was hoping to convey it as more of a ‘frenemies to lover’s romance,’ and I really enjoyed that she did. The story was light and moved at a fast pace, although there were a few angsty moments. I did think there might be a little more to what initially sent Matt and Sabrina sideways, and the ending also wrapped up a bit quickly for me. However, it didn’t affect the overall feeling, and sometimes when I’m really enjoying a good story, I hate for it to end!

I am just loving this 21 Wall Street series of standalones, and I absolutely adore all of the characters with their friendships, love, and loyalty between them. These make for really fun reads, and I’m definitely looking forward to Kennedy and Kate’s story next in 'Huge Deal'!

First time reading a story from Lauren Layne a and I have to say I absolutely loved it!
The story about enemies to lovers was a great idea. Matt works for Wolfe investments and Sabrina a matchmaker/a person who helps others,a companion . Matt and Sabrina don't believe in love and in marriage because their pasts have left them hurt. It left them doubting but when Matt hires Sabrina to favor him things turns out not expectedly Sabrina's way. It's a must read.

I wasn't expecting to love this book, but oh did I!

While this is the second book in the series 21 Wall Street, it can be enjoyed as a standalone.  With that being said, Hard Sell was my first experience with the series and Lauren Layne - I loved both!  Laynes writing style keeps you wanting more, with her fantastic character development, catchy dialogue and steamy chemistry!  This will definitely wont be my last Layne book!

Hard Sell is a fun-easy read, about the relationship between Sabrina and Matt who are "enemies-with-benefits."  After a wild night in Vegas, Matt's public image plummets.  Being on Wall Street handling the money of others, this is not good.  So Matt hires Sabrina, who works as a "fixer," to help change his images or lose his job.  Sabrina's job is to influence the opinions of others that Matt has "settled down" and is no longer a party boy.  As a fake couple, Matt and Sabrina start spending a lot of time together, which then leads to real feelings.  Their relationship is a slow burn, and the ending is perfect.

This was a great introduction to the author, and I can not say enough good things about the story or Layne's writing.  Looking forward to reading more from her!

Hard Sell by Lauren Layne was just what I needed today. A wonderful romance with characters with a past and a healthy distrust for marriage. The setting of the story is glittering New York City with the rich and famous. It is in this setting we find Matt Canyon and Sabrina Cross. Two people who seem to either bicker constantly or are having mad sex. However, Matt needs help and Sabrina is known as the ‘fixer’. Matt asks Sabrina to help him, save his job by posing as his girlfriend. She agrees with one exception - no sex - none….

Matt’s need for help is hard for him. Sabrina helping him opens her eyes to what she really wants out of life, a love, a companion, something meaningful and long lasting. Matt does not believe he will find love, he just wants to save his job by changing his reputation from a partier to a trustworthy money man. To top it all off, the one person he has always wanted to be a money manager for shows up and throws everything in turmoil.

Hard Sell by Lauren Layne was a fun, quick, enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this book and it's interesting take on frenemies to lovers. I liked the characters but wanted to know more about the heroine. We got the requisite sad backstory but not how she became this "fixer". Both were charming and kept each other on their toes. I liked how the larger friend group was incorporated. I thought it was a bit odd that they eloped so quickly when they were both just seeking companionship.

I received Hard Sell written by Lauren Layne from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This is the second in her 21 Wall Street series but the first I have read in the series so can be read as a stand alone. I read books written by Lauren Layne occasionally and have always enjoyed them and Hard Sell was no exception.
Matt Cannon is Wall Street's boy wonder and very good at what he does. He works hard but plays just as hard. When a trip to Vegas makes headlines, he is forces to either settle down or go home. In an attempt to settle everyone's nerves, he ask his friend Sabrina Cross to be his fake girlfriend. But sparks have been flying for years between these two, and as they are forced together more often, they begin to realize that their explosive history just might have some true feelings. But can they get past all the fighting and find their HEA.
Lauren Layne always writes wonderful characters and I greatly enjoyed the relationship between Matt and Sabrina. There were times I didn't like Matt or Sabrina but I think that is true in real life with anyone. I did greatly enjoyed the fact that Sabrina was every bit the alpha as Matt and found it difficult to back down. The only real drawback was that both Matt and Sabrina were perfect in their physical attributes and I find myself getting bored with that. But, the story had a wonder flow, and the banter was wonderful. The secondary characters were wonderful and there can be no questions on the set up of the next couple of books. #HardSell #NetGalley

Lauren Layne is quickly becaming one of my favorite authors. Hard Sell was fun & flirty. Matt is a sexy playboy, who needs to settle down, unless he wants to find himself out of a job. He know just the woman. Sabrina is beautiful & witty. I loved the push and pull between the two. I can't wait for the next book in the 21 Wall Street series!

This was one of my highly anticipated reads since I enjoyed the first book in the series! This a cute enemies to lovers tale. Their relationship is unique ,they have a four-year history, filled with tons of barbs and some sex. Matt and Sabrina have the type of relationship where they can’t be in the same space for five minutes without arguing.Their sexual chemistry was off the charts. Their story was so real .

I love this series and these characters. Always lots of emotion. I'm ready for the next book about Kendall!

Both Sabrina and Matt were in the first book of the series. They have a somewhat contentious relationship. Only it's not just somewhat, it's just contentious. We learn in this book that that has also included some naked time but that doesn't prevent the animosity. But Matt needs Sabrina's help. He's been featured in the Wall Street Journal as a hard partier and it is tanking his reputation, taking him to the brink of being fired. Sabrina would be a safe bet as a fake girlfriend, making him look good, but she won't actually fall in love with him. Probably. Except that this is a romance so...
Layne is one of the few authors whose first person narration doesn't set my teeth on edge. I haven't quite figured out why that is but maybe it's because the narrators are so adult (about most things, there was a little too much "I love him but he can't love me" and vice versa). They talk about their pasts frankly and (mostly) deal with it.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series when we finally get to see Kate and Kennedy figure it out.

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Matt and Sabrina that we have been given hints about their chemistry in previous books. Matt is the beloved star of Wall Street, but he does like to party somewhat and it caught up with him in Vegas. Wait, I thought what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas. Unfortunately for him that didn't hold true and he gets in some hot, hot water. In order to save his career, Sabrina to the rescue! But wait, they hate each others guts except when they need to scratch...well, if you want to know what they need to scratch and what happens between these two strong-willed people, read the book. You won't regret it!

i received an arc from netgalley to give an honest opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed this enemies to lovers romance. Matt and Sabrina each had complicated pasts that made them hesitant to love, and at times this felt a little contrived, but I still bought into their histories and relationship. I also felt like there maybe could have been a dedicated throwback scene to the morning after Sabrina and Matt first slept together in Vegas. It was referred to often, and then when it was finally revealed what Matt said to hurt her so much, it didn't pack a huge punch. But if I had one honest complaint, it would be that too many of the characters started too many of their sentences with "Hell." It felt more like a tick that author had than one that was genuine to any of the characters, and it became a distraction for me towards the end of the book. That is a minor complaint, but I was pretty close to counting them just for fun. Overall, this story was engaging and romantic and I will definitely read more Lauren Layne in the future.

After reading book 1 I was not so patiently waiting for this! Book 1 built up this enemies to lovers that I NEEDED in my life. This book turned out to be more frenemies to lovers and I totally dig it- it absolutely worked!
.
Our hero is a Wall Street legend but when he gets snapped on a bucks weekend in Vegas with strippers and the groom doing cocaine his job is in jeopardy. Who wants to see the man looking after your money with a wild life style? So he is given an ultimatum- clean up his act with a girlfriend in tow fast. Enter our heroine, a professional fixer who has a past with our hero. When he proposes a fake relationship to clean up his image she thinks that spending time with him will rid her of this weakness she seems to have for him. Of course it doesn’t......
.
The sparks between these two characters absolutely fly and lead to some funny moments but also 🔥🔥 moments. I loved their bickering but also their sweet moments too. This was everything I didn’t know I needed this book to be, bring on Book 3!
