This was a wonderful gift of the healing of grief. From the author's personal experience of loss, he will guide you through the grieving process. The author shares how various people in his life helped him navigate the process of healing. There is no step-by-step method and the same thing does not work for everyone. But knowing that God loves and cares for you as well as people in your life who are willing to walk with you through the rain is comforting.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harvest House Publishers for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Letter to a Grieving Heart is a page by page personal story to guide people on how to deal with grief. The author is very open with his trials and struggles with grief. His story would make someone who is grieving feel as though they are not alone. He makes the tears of grief so needed and okay for those who go through such difficulties as a hard loss. He shares some songs He has written. He shares how much it has meant to him to have others walk the difficult journey and care for him in such specific and special ways. This book would be good to give to someone who is grieving. I like the leaves that are throughout the book. They are very soothing and comforting. I appreciate this opportunity to read this book and review it .
How do you deal with grief? What happens in the heart when the impossible happens to someone we love? When we lose the person we dearly need?
This little book examines and explores the ways we grieve in a healthy way. What can we say to ourselves, to others, and to God while we are not yet ready for comfort?
Highly recommended.
This book was OK as a self-help book. I have not gone through the same loss as the author but had hoped it would provide encouragement for everyday loss. There were some good bible quotes. But I found the book more depressing than uplifting.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I found this book just after a very good friend lost her husband of nearly 45 years. I let her borrow my kindle to read it. We both cried while discussing it. I will just say it came at the precise minute we needed it to and we both appreciate net gallery and the publisher for supplying it. Our opinion is that we both highly recommend it.
Letter to a Grieving Heart is perfect for someone who has lost a loved one and need advice from a Christian perspective. The Bible verses and author's advice is very comforting for someone struggling with loss and grief.
I have not finished the book yet. My only issue so far is it is dealing with grieving a believer. I hope the author further on deals with the grief of a loved one who is an unbeliever.
Letter to a Grieving Heart by: Billy Sprague.
Letter to a Grieving Heart is a poignant, soul-searching road map back to a meaningful, productive, blessed life after the death of a loved one..Letter to a Grieving Heart is more than a specific series of steps meant to overcome grief. Instead, this book offers a strong message of hope with Biblical scriptures reinforcing that hope along with practical wisdom...
