This book is helping me to expand my prayer life. An enjoyable read, which has the potential to grow my prayer life - as I learn how to praise God even when things in my life are less than idyllic.
This book is full of encouragement. In just 40 days, you'll be renewed and your faith boosted. Trading off chapters, several female leaders lead us through the scriptures, prayers, and a story of how God is at work.
If you're feeling discouraged, less than able, not willing to take risks, this will help you to trust God more, to love him better, and to deepen your relationship with God.
The authors base their books on the common ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication) model. But they take things a little deeper. Utilizing stories from the Bible and their experiences they gives us a foundation to the why.
The authors alternate on the devotions which makes it nice to have the different perspectives. One author does tend to be a little “wordier” than the other, but both give good Biblical principles. The devotions tended to take 5 to 8 minutes to read, the following prayer time can be as long as you are lead.

A good book to help you focus on praise, which is an important daily necessity.

This 40-Day Devotional follows the Moms in Prayer format. It's divided up in four steps of prayer. The first ten devotionals are about praising God. The second ten are about peace and power. The third group of ten devotionals are about the power in giving thanks and the last group is ten devotionals about interceding with powerful prayers for others. Before getting into the devotionals, the authors talk about what prayer is and why God wants us to pray to Him. Through the lessons you will learn about the Father, His character, His names, and His attributes. I loved the way these authors used several scriptures in each devotional. At the end, they take us through three steps Praise, Confession and Thanksgiving using scripture always. I got something different out of each lesson, continually highlighting and taking notes. A statement that resonated with me, “What is it God wants to do through you? What are you created for?” Start With Praise was not only an enjoyable read but I found it life changing for me. Start with Praise is a wonderful prayer devotional. I love the way that the authors pull scripture in and bring to life the prayers, praises, etc. of the Bible. I also liked the prayer prompts. Sometimes we can get into our quiet time and have difficulty quieting our soul. I believe that this book is perfect for those of us who need some help quieting down and knowing how to pray in a meaningful way.
