Didi Storm is a single mother with a teenage daughter and infant twins, she is also a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. Didi tries to come into big money by selling one of the twins to their rich father in a secret late night meeting in the desert. There is gunfire and a car explosion and when the police find the burned out car the next day reveals a dead male but no signs of a infant.

Didi feeling guilty about selling her baby now has a plan to get the baby back. She dresses up in her Marilyn Monroe clothes and makeup and heads out in her Cadillac. She is never seen again.

Twenty years later Remmi, Didi's daughter, witnesses a woman dressed like Marilyn Monroe jump to her death from a hotel in San Francisco. Remmi goes to the police and tells them the woman is not her mother, even though the woman's clothes and wig have Didi's name signed on them. A recently released tell all book about Didi Storm seems to be stirring up a lot of old secrets that someone desperately wants to remain secret.

Now Remmi and the police have to solve this 20 year old mystery. Are Didi and her twins alive? Who is the father of the twins? Who is Remmi's father? Who was the woman that jumped to her death? Who is the real author of the tell all book on Didi's life? Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. This was another well done story by Lisa Jackson.

If I see Lisa Jackson's name on a mystery it is almost a guarantee that I will thoroughly enjoy the story. This book simply proves that theory! Technically I suppose this book is a romantic suspense but the focus is almost entirely on the mystery surrounding a woman that has been missing for twenty years. The romance is almost non-existent and really doesn't come into play until the end of the story. Even though some of the mystery takes place twenty years prior, this story is by no means a cold case mystery. There are so many pieces of the mystery twisted together with the current story, that I found the book difficult to put down until the final mystery was solved. While I did figure out some of the culprits, I love a mystery that keeps me guessing and this one certainly did! And truly what more can you ask of a good mystery novel?

Lisa Jackson is my go to author for mystery books. I really liked this book. It was very suspenseful.

I didn’t like the characters I wasn’t supposed to like. I liked the characters I was supposed to like.

The plot was awesome. I kind of figured out the ending but not completely.

Why would a mother sell her baby? Didi Storm was hoping that she would make a name for herself but she is working in a older casino as an Marilyn Monroe impersonator and she only knows one way to make money. But this time she has chosen the wrong man to mess with and she will lose everything in this one crazy moment. Remmi knew that her mother was up to something but she can't believe that she would sell one of her children and still try to make more money of the guy. Didi thinks that she can get more money by selling the other twin as he is a boy and he is an heir to a dynasty but she overplayed her hand. Remmi can't believe that her mother left her and now the other twin has been taken by the childminder and the police don't believe her story. She has no choice but to live with her uncle & aunt and she prays everyday that her mother would come for her but she had to give up hoping. Twenty years later and Remmi thinks that she has found her mother but before she can speak to her she commits suicide but she doesn't believe that. She finds out that it isn't her so where is she and does she have anything to do with the book that has come out about her life? The police want to help but there isn't much to go on but they are going to look into it. Remmi can't believe that the boy that she longer for as has found her but why did Noah just disappear? He was shot that night of the baby being sold and he ran as he knew that the killer would come to finish him off. But can he really help Remmi to find her mother after all this time? The more they dig the bigger the danger becomes, people that knew Didi are being picked off and the killer is looking for her. But what Remmi finds will change everything and maybe she can put her past to rest and find the happiness that she has been looking for. A good read. I understand why Didi thought she had no choice but that night she destroyed everyone's life and she knew that about her eldest daughter she just saw dollar signs. Remmi didn't have it easy but she became a strong woman that never gave up hope. She did not deserve what her mother did. Thank heavens that Noah comes back I was hoping that he would come looking for her. And her father never saw that one coming. Never ever disappointed with Lisa's writing it takes you on a roller caster each time. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.

I've loved Lisa Jackson for a very long time. She writes one heck of a whodunnit. Her latest offering is no exception.
It's been 20 years since Remmi last saw her mother. An explosion in the desert, a shooting, missing children, and then Didi Storm was gone. Nobody knew what happened to her, even her teenage daughter. A minor celebrity in her day, Didi slowly slipped off the radar. Interest is renewed, however, when a mysterious author writes a tell-all book about Didi's life. And then there's the jumper, a woman clearly trying to look like Didi leaping to her death. Or was she pushed? Oh and let's not forget Remmi's infant sister and brother, both missing since the night of Didi's disappearance. And last but not least, Noah, an almost love interest who coincidentally also went missing that night.
Seems like a lot going on, I know. But trust me, it goes together. And everything fits, slowing coming together to complete the puzzle. A nice little mystery with a great storyline and interesting characters.

Remmi Storm has spent half of her life looking for her mother. As a child, her mother DiDi made a living as an impersonator, often dressing like Marilyn Monroe and providing her talent in various shows in an effort to support her family, including infant twins, all the while grasping for fame that seemed to be just out of her reach. Then one of the twins disappears, with Didi coming home with a suitcase full of money in its place. Taking the second baby, Didi vows to right her wrong and disappears into the night – never to return. Remmi, at the age of 15, reports her disappearance to the police, and is ultimately sent to live with her aunt – but DiDi and the twins are never found.

Now, 20 years later, a book has been published - a tell-all book about DiDi Storm and her colorful life. Sightings of DiDi commence, and Remmi is present when a Marilyn Monroe impersonator plunges to her death from the 19th story of a high-rise hotel – but the victim is not DiDi herself – but who is she, and why is she impersonating DiDi? That’s what Remmi sets out to discover, with road blocks at every turn – the book author – unavailable, the publisher’s office – non-existent. I truly enjoy anything that Lisa Jackson pens, and this book was no exception. While I confess, I was hoping for a bit different ending, this book is filled with drama, action and plenty of twists and turns that will keep you reading late into the night!

Liar, Liar by Lisa Jackson, Remmie was 14 when her life was completely turned upside down with the disappearance of her mom and her missing twin baby sister and brother. But the fact that her mother tried to trade/sell one of the twins to the baby's daddy out in the middle of the desert in the middle of the night starts this book off and the mystery and intrigue grow from there.... take this ride with Remmie and see where you end up! Well written, characters you get to know and a few you might not want to know....mystery and a little mayhem definitely a good read.

This book was an excellent book by Lisa Jackson. I can honestly say that I was guessing from the start who the killer was and what really was going on with Didi and the twins. I loved how Jackson kept the reader on the edge and brought the story from the current time to the past and then back to the current time. It was just written so well that as a reader, I felt like I really knew what was going on the entire time.
I also loved Remmi and Noah's story and how it plays out throughout the book and time. It adds another dimension to the book for me that made it all that more better.
I have no choice but to give Liar, Liar five out of five stars because it was an excellent book full of mystery and suspense.

Another homerun by Lisa Jackson. I love this author's suspense books and she did not disappoint with Liar, Liar. Well written with an edge of your seat plot and great characters. I highly recommend to fans of suspense.

If there is one thing you can count on, it's that a book from Lisa will have you reading LONG into the night, as you just CAN'T stop turning the pages! And this book continues that tradition! Remmi is a sympathetic character from the beginning, so much so that you you might find yourself yelling at the book-"NO, don't do it!", as you can forsee what is about to happen, while Remmi the teen doesn't. As her life moves on, you keep the sense of wanting to protect her, and when her past comes back, you'll be gripped to your seat, turning pages to see if Remmi gets the happy ending she wanted all those years ago! This one isn't for beach reading, unless you want to get a bad sunburn, from forgetting to move! LOL

Las Vegas celebrity impersonator, Didi Storm is missing – has been for over 20 years – and her daughter, Remmi just happens to see her mother jump from a tall building to her death. The problem is that the woman who jumped isn’t really her mother, and probably didn’t jump without help. 20 years prior, 15-year old Remmi was hiding in her mother’s car just before going to meet a boyfriend; she didn’t expect her mother to take her twin brother and sister to a remote place in the desert and hand off one of the twins to a strange man in exchange for money. Didi went missing shortly afterwards, and has never been found. Remmi’s boyfriend, Noah Scott, was also in the desert that night, and was also a witness, although he was shot and left for dead. Remmi and Noah, who 20 years later is a PI, team up to investigate.

Lisa Jackson is not only an excellent storyteller, but also very good at developing her characters. She is able to make them stand out and seem like real people. As readers delve into this fascinating mystery, they will feel like they are actually looking in at real scenarios and real people.

The story flows as any good thriller should, and will keep most readers on the edge of their seats. The suspense builds throughout, and readers will suspect different characters as clues are uncovered, but will probably be proven wrong. The real perpetrators won’t surface until the very end.

Lisa Jackson fans will definitely enjoy this novel, as will anyone who likes a good thriller.

Ugh. I am usually a huge fan of Lisa Jackson but her newest book Liar, Liar just didn't keep my attention. It felt like it took me forever to get through it and I actually skimmed most of it.
Remmi Storm is 14 when her mother and 2 half siblings disappear. 20 years later someone who maybe Didi Storm (Remmi's mother) jumps out a hotel window. Dozens of characters, dozens of story lines muddy the waters of this book, trying to resolve the issue of what really happened to Remmi's mom. And I never felt close to the characters. I just didn't really care who the bad guy(s) were and what happened to Didi.
I'll continue to read Lisa Jackson's books. Hopefully her next ones will be like her earlier work.

Liar Liar is a plot driven novel so back story of the characters is slim but readers catch on fast as Lisa Jackson reveals her story with the twist that take time to absorb. The Author uses duel times lines that will keep readers focused on this story. Make sure as a reader you have a quite place because you will not want to be disrupted.



Liar, Liar is a story of Murder, Duplicity and Twist that readers will not be able to get enough of.

Strong characters with detailed pasts and presents mixed with twists and page-turning exploits make this a book you can't put down.

As the daughter of impersonator Didi Storm, Remmi's life has been a series of difficult circumstances that only get worse when Didi disappears. A tell-all book 20 years later reopens the past creating danger for Remmi's future when she reconnects with family and a friend from her teens.

I was so excited to be approved for this eARC but I was so disappointed with this book. I usually love Lisa Jackson books and buy them as soon as they are released. This one just didn't do it for me. The beginning was slow and drawn out. It was boring. I didn't really get into the story until it was almost over. The ending felt rushed and like all the loose ends were being tied up. This was not one of her better stories.

Liar, Liar is an intricately woven tale. The crimes span 20 years. The mystery of it was slowly revealed to us. There was so many twists and turns. The suspense of it all was amazing. Lisa Jackson is a wonderful storyteller! I received an advance review copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The novel opens with Remmi Storm witnessing a suicide. A woman dressed like Marilyn Monroe jumps from a hotel window and Remmi fears it might be her mother, Didi, a Las Vegas impressionist who disappeared in mysterious circumstances twenty years ago. It's not Didi but who she is and why she was impersonating Didi occupy Remmi and detective Dani Settler throughout the novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed Liar, Liar which is an entertaining read with twist upon twist and plenty of action. For those readers who like some realism in their reading this is not the novel for them as it's nonsense and no way near believable but it's good nonsense as it's exciting and compelling and had me feverishly turning the pages to see what was coming next. It's a good example of escapist fiction as Ms Jackson's writing always is.

The novel is told in two parts. It opens with the attention grabbing suicide then swings back to the events of twenty years ago when Didi Storm disappeared, leaving Remmi behind with more questions than answers. Remmi has always looked for her mother but the suicide is the closest she has got so then the novel switches back to the present day. I'm not usually a big fan of dual timelines but with the events of the past having such a bearing on the present it is necessary in this case, in fact essential. Fortunately the novel doesn't switch between them as that would have been distracting. I like that the reader is given most of the necessary information in one chunk then Ms Jackson moves on. I say most as the perpetrator is a well hidden secret, another good thing in my thinking.

It is difficult to discuss the characters without revealing plot details as they and their actions are intrinsic to the narrative. The novel is plot driven so Ms Jackson doesn't waste much time developing them. Both Remmi and Dani Settler are, for different reasons, solitary women. Dani is a dedicated investigator with a thirst for the truth and not much else in her life. Remmi is more social, working and living with an elderly woman but still pre-occupied with her mother's disappearance.

Liar, Liar is a good read which I have no hesitation in recommending.

I didn’t figure out the mystery until it was staring me in the face. I felt for the characters and liked the women detective a lot. Remmi broke my heart but the ending made all the angst worth it.

I usually love lisa jackson books and she is on my list of best authors..This one just didn't do it for me...I thought the first 3/4 of the book were just long and boring..The last 1/4 of the book was really good and really wrapped everything up for me but it took too long to get to that point.. It is not a bad book but not her best...
