This was a fantastic story and it was so much fun to visit Charmed, TX once again. It's a pretty good place for a runaway bride to land. This is Micah and Leo's story. She's running away, he's coming home. Together they might find it all. If they're brave enough to give it a chance. The people of Charmed were happy to embrace them and hopefully they will find their HEA right there.

I loved this story and the quaint little town of Charmed that Ms. Lovelace has created is one of my favorites. The books in this series have all been wonderful and this book is an exceptional addition to the series. I highly recommend this one to everyone. You don't want to miss this wild ride!

Charmed at First Sight by Sharla Lovelace
Charmed in Texas #4

This is a runaway bride story with Micah Roman, flower grower, getting cold feet just before walking down the aisle. Micah jumps on the back of a motorcycle with a man completely unknown but with whom she almost instantly feels comfortable with. Jeremy, a man she has spent almost a decade with, is the man left behind and a manipulating man like him who could hide his true colors for so long…questionable. Anyway, Micah ends up in Charmed with only what she is wearing and unsure what will happen next she is definitely front and center in the small town’s drama-gossip-fest that ensues shortly after her high heeled food hits the pavement. But she is also quickly taken in and given a helping hand and offered friendship by more than one who meets her.

Leo McKane, motorcycle savior, is on his way to Charmed to try to mend fences with his brother, Nick (book one of the series). With bartending and land clearing and perhaps other means of income he does not hit it off with Nick immediately and some effort is needed before the brothers manage to begin mending fences.

Leo and Micah have instant attraction and chemistry but there are also issues and secrets and people that might keep them apart.

I liked Gabi and found out she will be starring in the next book of the series and her love interest will be one of Micah’s brothers. I am curious about both Tucker and Jackson, Micah’s brothers, and wonder about Gabi’s sister Drew. Charmed sounds like a “charming” place to live with that small town vibe and happily ever after endings for most. I enjoy this author and have enjoyed this series though this is probably not my very favorite book in the series…it was still very very enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington – Lyrical Shine for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Review by Amber for Love Romance Books Blog

Micah Roman has it all: a handsome fiancé, a great job, and more. The only problem is that she doesn’t want it. She has always been more of a rebel, and the prospect of settling down terrifies her....which is why she decides to run. Her timing sucks, though, and she makes her decision to run at the last minute, meaning she is decked out in sky-high heels and an enormous wedding dress. She is desperate to escape, so when a handsome stranger on a motorcycle offers to give her a ride, she takes it.

Her mysterious savior is going to Charmed, a nearby town. Once the, the reality of her situation sinks in. Luckily, there are some good people in Charmed willing to help her out. And then there is Leo, the mysterious stranger. They keep running into each other. It is bad timing for both of them, but for some reason they just can’t stay away. Eventually the ex-fiancé comes calling, though. Will Micah go back to her old life or stick with her new one?

I would give this book 4 stars. I really liked Micah and Leo’s story, and I liked the supporting characters as well. Even though this book is one of a series, I haven’t read any other books by this author and I thought it did well as a stand alone book. I definitely am going to look for the other books in the series. I was asked by the author for an honest review.

Where to begin?

Well, if you’re a fan of romantic comedy and you haven’t read a Sharla Lovelace novel, you must immediately remedy that. I have read all of the entries in her Charmed in Texas series so far, and I just looked back to see if I said what I’m about to say (I have, just so you know), Lovelace keeps getting better with each book in the series.

In Charmed at First Sight, we have a runaway bride, Micah, a biker, Leo, and the incredible, magical town of Charmed, Texas with its ensemble of eccentric characters and weird goings-on.

The novel is told from Micah’s point-of-view, which is perfect. The funny, witty, snarky conversational style resonates. At times, I did wish that I could be privy to Leo’s pov, but that was just me being greedy, and it totally wasn’t necessary for my enjoyment of the story.

Most of the action takes place in less than a month’s time, which would normally have me nitpicking about the instalove-thing and how unbelievable this is. But, it wasn’t unbelievable. The way Lovelace has drawn Leo had me falling for him too. He’s sex-on-a-stick, but inherently decent despite a past penchant for bad-boy ways. The banter and chemistry between Micah and Leo result in some sizzling scenes. Yes, I could believe this instalove.

So much happens in Charmed at First Sight, and there’s so much to love, as well as enough drama to keep you on your toes. I am already looking forward to the next entry. Keep ’em coming!!

If you’re in the need for some escapist rom-com, check out Charmed at First Sight and the entire Charmed in Texas series.

Charmed at First Sight goes on sale July 10. You can pre-order here: Charmed at First Sight.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love the Charmed in Texas series... each book and each character even better than the last. They are the type of feel good romance stories that just give you that happy feeling while you read and you ALWAYS close the book with a satisfied smile on your face. I do it EVERY SINGLE TIME. lol

Charmed at First Sight begins and we find Micah Roman at a crossroads in her life... does she continue down the aisle to marry her fiancé Jeremy after being with him for 8 years or does she jump on the bike of a stranger (aka Leo McKane) out of dodge to remember and find who she once was?

I have to say when she jumped on the bike I fist pumped for her strength to find herself, I loved that she trusted in her inner voice telling her that what she was about to do was the right path for her and I fanned myself knowing that we would be in for a freakin HOT RIDE meeting Nick's older brother Leo. And boy, was I right.

Their chemistry and attraction were palpable from the get-go but I loved the slow burn of this book and Leo's constant rescuing of our damsel in distress. Not only was he protective but he also held back and showed his patience being able to read Micah and recognizing her fight or flight mentality and always threading with care when it came with her seeing that she wanted her independence, she WANTED to be her own person while also showing her that he had her back.

I had so many questions and so many theories running rampant in my mind while reading this book and WOW when everything connected and I got my answers... just WOW. I love how the author is still able to throw in twists and turns while still packing in the romance and heat and love.

Sharla Lovelace is an author that I can rely on to write great stories... stories that touch my heart and without a doubt make me teary-eyed with emotion. I just love her words and have since the very first book I have read of hers. She has found a lifelong fan and seeing the preview at the end of this book for the next one, I CAN'T FREAKIN WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THE NEXT ONE! GAHHHH!!!

Sharla, you amaze me time and time again and I just LOVE this series (so much so that I wish I lived in it! lol)

Runaway bride meets hot hero on a motorcycle! I LOVE Charmed, Texas!! Leo and Micah's story has angst, fun times and romance with a little touch of mystery to make it my favorite story so far in this series!! I was taken in from the very beginning and didn't want it to end!

I am very invested in the people of Charmed, Texas. Their stories are tender and intriguing. 'Charmed at First Sight' is an engaging runaway bride offering with deep undertones about real life problems. I sincerely wish that the crude language and graphic sex was not a part of this book so that I could give it more stars, but that is the reality of Sharla Lovelace's stories.

Micah is all of us. Charmed at First Sight is the first book I’ve read by Sharla Lovelace. And can I just say, I want to move to Charmed, Texas sooooo badly.

Micah Roman is running, running in a wedding gown and stupid stiletto shoes, she’s a runaway bride. She doesn’t know what finally triggered her need for fight or flight but she needs to get as far away from Jeremy Blankenship and Cherrydale. She has somehow lost herself in the past almost decade of being with Jeremy and his controlling ways and needs to find herself, right now. Running from the church up Main Street, she sees a man on a motorcycle stop right in front of her. He seems to have a magnetic pull on her to go toward him and the motorcycle. She makes a split second decision to jump on the bike and head wherever the man is headed.

Leo McKane is headed to Charmed to start a new job and start over, hopefully, with someone from his past. When he drives through Cherrydale and is stopped at a light, a woman in a wedding dress makes eye contact with him. Crazy as it sounds he offers her a ride. Even stranger is the immediate chemistry he feels with her. What was he doing? He wasn’t looking for a relationship right now, too much was up in the air.

Micah is alone in a new town, with no money, no car, no house and meets some women who quickly befriend her. She hasn’t had true friends in a very long time. Leo doesn’t have as good of luck as she does though as the person he was looking forward to seeing isn’t excited to see him.
Micah and Leo have to navigate their way through a new town, new friends and new situations without losing their focus for their futures. Too bad they want to lose focus, and with each other. They find out in the course of one very, very long week that they have a friend in common, and they’re a few fries short of a happy meal as the saying goes. What exactly will this little tidbit of nostalgia mean for them moving forward? Or for the town of Charmed, Texas and her residents?

Micah is my new favor person, as is the phrase holy shitwaffles. I think this is the book I’ve been waiting for my whole life. Micah is quirky, Micah is honest, Micah is a hot mess. She is all of us. She speaks a common truth that most authors shy away from writing. Morning breath is not ok……..

I received an advance copy of this novel without any expectations for review. All opinions expressed are my own. I would HIGHLY advise you to one click, order, ship, drive to bookstore to get a copy of Charmed at First Sight today. My only regret is how my bank account is going to suffer having to purchase all the other works by Ms. Lovelace. Not a bad problem to have I’d guess.

This book has both cussing (including a ton of f-bombs dropped by everyone) and on-page sex/sexual situations. If those things will cause you to leave a bad review, you should skip this one.

Although this is part of a larger series, it can totally stand alone and you don't have to read the books that come before this...but you really should because they're great and knowing those characters (while not required) adds so much to this one.

I really enjoyed the humor that ran through this entire story. There were so many little things that cracked me up as I was reading that I found myself chuckling a lot as I read. Micah's inner voice was hilarious and the exact kind of snarky humor that I have come to love in a Sharla Lovelace romantic comedy.

Micah was a hot mess, but I loved that she was relatable and she wore her hot mess status. She knew she had fallen apart at the seems but she was doing her best to find herself again, which I respected so much. Leo was also a really great character. I liked how hard he worked to make amends and to get back into Nick's life. Without spoiling anything, his big gesture when Nick needed him most made my heart pound. Just wow.

I also absolutely ADORED Micah's relationship with her brother Thatcher. Some of my favorite moments in the story belonged to Thatcher and even though this book is just coming out now, I am already counting down the days until the next book comes out and we get more of him.

This is going to be completely vague so as to avoid spoilers but something that happens in this book really, really shocked me. It isn't often that an author can really surprise me, but a certain turn of events made my jaw drop and made me tear up. While I understood why it happened and how it advanced the plot and I loved what came from it, I gasped out loud when I read it.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the previous books and enjoyed them, or to anyone who enjoys a story about two lost souls finding not only each other, but finding themselves in a charming little town full of honey and magical moments.

Loved this book. It really kept me interested the whole way thru. Interesting plot twist too. Loved the main characters and can't wait to see what's next

Micah thought she had everything she wanted. Until her wedding day and she realized she was nowhere to be found. That spirited and free girl with her own quirkiness had been replaced by a meek and quiet woman. How did this happen. In a split second decision she changes her fate forever.

Leo McKane never expected to be a knight in shining armor. But here he was, flying down the road on his bike with a wild woman in a wedding dress wrapped around him. Heading to the only family he's got should be his priority. Making amends with his brother. But he couldn't just leave her there. And now he's entangled in something he shouldn't be. Something from his past that could be more dangerous than anything ever before. And who would have thought her ex groom to be would be the cause?

Micah is finding her way. Making friends and discovering who she really is again. She never wants to be that lost. But her attraction to her rescuer is something she doesn't need. As truths come out about who Jeremy really is and what he's capable of, things escalate quickly. And her new found friends are put in serious danger. Can they prove facts and get him out of their lives for good or will someone have to pay the ultimate price for her escape?

I enjoyed the flirty and self discovery in this book. The attraction between them is felt from the first look and just grows. Really good read!

There is something about Charmed, TX that gets me every time. No lie, I had a giant moony grin on my face before I even cleared the first chapter, and that grin held steady for almost the entirety of this story. It just felt good and because of that, I never wanted to leave.

Honestly, Charmed is the perfect name for this pleasant, quirky little town. It's how I've felt while reading every single book in this series. The writing is smart and laced with humor and heart - a combination I find completely irresistible. And the characters? Talk about a band of zany, lovable little misfits and I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite. But, since this is Leo and Micah's story, let's talk about them for a bit...

Heart. Eyeballs.

Oh, you want more? They - well - they charmed me. Utterly and completely. Their story moves very quickly so we're dealing with a bit of insta-love here, but I didn't feel that. It didn't feel rushed and I didn't feel like I didn't understand the attraction the way that I sometimes do while reading an insta-love story. I felt like their chemistry was on point and their interactions were written in such a way that my heart started banging around in my chest from nearly the first encounter - which made it a little more believable to me that Micah's might have too. In any case, I completely bought into their fast and furious attraction and feasted on all the warm, ooey gooey things it did to my heart.

Beyond the romance? So. Much. Goodness. The friendships. The loyalties. The easy-to-hate villain. The small-town quirkiness. I am completely in love with this town, I swear and every new book is starting to feel a little bit like coming home. Charmed at First Sight was another fantastic addition to this wonderful series and I'm already excited for more!

Micah is a runaway bride. She leaves her boyfriend of eight years and hops on a bike driven by a Leo McKane who heads to Charmed. There are new friends being made, new relationship to explore -- but can these two deal with baggage of their past?

Sharla Lovelace returns to Charmed, Texas and brings new set of characters for readers to root for. Lovelace also continues using only the heroine's first person perspective in Charmed at First Sight . While I am quite familiar with it, having read the previous three books in this series, I admit that this might be my least favorite because of that.

Before I get to my reason, let me say what I like about this book first. I really liked the FRIENDSHIP between Micah and Gabi -- whom I assume will have her story soon. How people in Charmed easily and without asking too much questions, embraces Micah like one of their own is pretty nice; though that may not be as realistic as it sounds *laugh*.

However, I missed Leo's thoughts in this book SO BAD. Why? Because he has been estranged from his brother, Nick, for more than a decade (PS: Nick is the hero from the first book). I wanted to know what he was doing, between falling for Micah AND trying to mend bridges with Nick. I hated not knowing.

Also, this book feels more like a woman's fiction genre, where the heroine is trying to find herself again after realizing that her self-identity has disappeared by being in relationship. Like a book of personal development rather than romance, you know? Without Leo's counter-thoughts of Micah, the romance was underwhelming. I wasn't sold, at all.

It doesn't help that Lovelace then reminds readers that everything happened in the span of ONE WEEK. Yeah, insta-lust, insta-attraction, insta-love, whatever, is a trope that doesn't sit well with me *shrugs*

A cute story about a runaway bride who leaves her groom at the alter, hitching a ride with a stranger on a motorcycle. The jaded groom is from a powerful family who has the means to destroy her and her family's business.

A few things I didn't like:
* The way everyone in Charmed was overly helpful and willing to do anything for a stranger. You lost me when she's loaned a car by someone she knows for only hours.
* I was pretty good until the end when the author felt the need to remind the reader it had only been one week since the wedding. The insta love just didn't work, especially so soon after leaving a guy she had been with for 8 years.
* The end was just over the top for me.

Charmed at First Sight, by Sharla Lovelace is a contemporary romance, and the fourth book in the Charmed in Texas series.

Micah Roman is dressed in her wedding dress and ready to walk down the aisle, yet she just realized that she can't marry him. This isn't the life she wants to be living. As she runs out the church door, she encounters a stranger on a motorcycle, which is her ticket to freedom.

Leo McKane was simply riding through this town on his way to Charmed, Texas. However, he helps Micah escape on her wedding day. While Micah is obviously dealing with a mini-life crisis, Leo is also struggling to rebuild his life, particularly his relationship with his estranged younger brother. While Leo and Micah are dealing with plenty of separate issues, they are slowly bonding and accepting their immediate attraction to each other, while adjusting to their temporary life in Charmed, Texas.

Even though it's the fourth book in the Charmed in Texas series, this book easily reads as a stand-alone story.

Charmed at First Sight is geared towards those who enjoy reading modern romances.

This is such a good story. I really liked it! So happy to be back in Charmed! I love this little town in Texas and these characters that Ms Lovelace has created for us. This story is about Micah Roman and Leo McKane and their very interesting and intense beginning and end and everything in between. How their love just grows like wildflowers until it can’t be ignored. Loved their initial meeting where he rides up like a prince and whisks her away from what could have been a huge mistake if she hadn’t come to her senses. Only this prince rides a Harley not a white horse. He is headed to Charmed for a job but he also hopes to find his brother who he has not seen in years, so Micah tags along and then decides to stay there for a bit. Little did she know how much this town and these people would change her life. This story took some turns that I certainly was not expecting but it just added to the likability of it. I like that by having Micah mix in and easily make friends and Leo bartending at a local hang out, we get a look at what some of the others in Charmed have been up to. This story has everything I love in a romance; great characters, chemistry, heat, humor, some trouble and most of all a HEA.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book!

On the day of her wedding, Micah Roman decides to bolt! Leaving her finace at the alter was never the plan, but thinking about spending the rest of her life with him has Micah’s gut is screaming RUN. While fleeing the church she randomly meets Leo McKane... her getaway motorcycle man! Leo is on his way to Charmed, Texas for a job, so Micah decides that’s as good a place as any to hunker down and regroup. Leo was truly a lifesaver especially being that they were strangers! Although they both want to deny their chemistry —it just won’t go away!! It was a this point that I became glued to my kindle— so darn good!

I adore Sharla Lovelace’s Charmed in Texas series! It’s the perfect combination of sweet, sass and steam! I love small town romances and this series is a great example of why!! The storyline had great pace and fantastic characters (which for me is the reason I couldn’t put my kindle down)! Charmed at First Sight is a 4.5 read that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I am already looking forward to the next installment, I honestly never want this series end!

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

A fairly fun romance. Starts with Micah running down the road in her wedding dress, and getting picked up by hunky Leo on his Harley. He helps her escape, and she goes to a small town about an hour away. I enjoyed the story for the most part, although not sure why she was creepy Jeremy for 8 years. Seems like a long time. Also, never did find out where the cousin was? Liked her new friends, and the town was charming. Would definitely highly recommend this book and author.
