First off I would like to thank the publishers and NetGalley for providing me with a free ARC to read and review. This is the story of Nathaniel and January Rose. A rancher and a traveling free spirit who decided to travel the world as her dad had done before her. Reunited after a 10 year separation where he stayed behind to handle his family legacy and responsibilities. January is only on a layover before she continues her journey or will his love be enough to help her stay? January is a little too free for me and for Nathaniel who is also a very talented writer. I enjoyed the story, it was short and well written. HEA is inevitable and quite with a little epilogue at the end.

This was such a fun book. I loved the characters and the story line flowed well. It was a great easy read that kept my attention throughout.
I want to thank Netgalley and Leslie North for another enticing series.
Nathaniel Meier (Nat) has been dealing with the ranch on his own since his mother went off to find herself, his brothers are away and his father passed on. January Rose (J) has been off travelling the world for the past 10 years, but limited funds means she needs to come back to Close Call, Texas. What happened when January comes back to the ranch and how will Nat feel when she has to leave after a week?
Read Tempting The Rancher to find out what happens.
Ok, how does she do it? Write about amazing Seal's one moment and awesome Cowboy's the next? Top author skills for sure! Second chance, young love revisited, beautiful settings, high spirited heroine. The romance was good and I think the characters of Nathaniel and January were a great pair. I really, really enjoy Leslie North and LOVE the book covers.
Unfortunately, this is yet another Leslie North story that I didn't find myself really enjoying. I didn't care much for the characters or the overall story. I was rather disappointed in that. Hopefully, her next work will be better.
Tough times called for tougher decisions to be made and Nat and January had dreams they needed or wanted to follow. January traveled to try to find herself and Nat stayed at his family ranch to keep it in the family. In the end love wins and compromises were reached. Easy to follow along with strong characters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is a hard one to rate. There were sections that were so loaded with metaphors that I didn't understand and had to forget it. The premise was a good one. I really didn't connect with January either. I mean she loved Nat but she was so full of wanderlust that she wouldn't stay long enough to figure out a compromise. Selfish. Nat on the other hand. Stayed on the ranch while the rest of his family was off doing their thing. He was keeping the family legacy going.
I didn't feel a connection to the characters and them getting their HEA.
Nate & January: Tempting the Rancher
Wes & Livie: Redeeming the Rancher
Chase & Gretchen: Claiming the Cowboy
Though all three brothers received their own story, they are intertwined to such an extent that their stories are one in the same...Love for the land and family. Ms North has created brothers who capture you heart, along with the love of their lives. I feel in order to receive the true meaning of the Meier family and where they came from generations back and what the future holds for the brothers, all three books should be read in order...though they could be read as a stand-alone, the stories have more impact if read in order.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I like a good second chance read. This one has a lot of other factors besides there felling that is going to have to be worked through. I love a good cowboy story they always seem so strong and unshakeable.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
Nathaniel needed help in running the ranch.
January was only going to stay long enough to earn some money.
However, love always find a way!
The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
January and Nat are high school sweet hearts who broke up when January decided to travel around the world. Back for a break and a check for her inheritance, January is back in town for a brief minute and decides that she will not get attached to anything that will cause her to cancel her worldly plans. Nat knows that his heart will be broken if he lets January back in, but he throws caution to the wind and goes for it.
I could not get into this story because it was boring with no chemistry between the characters. The characters had no depth and no
I recently had the chance to enjoy this book during the Extreme Book Nerd Challenge. I used it for the western category and thought it was great. It was great to see childhood friends come together and build a life through whatever came. I'd highly recommend.
I enjoyed this series. It had cute moments with some of the wildlife. I was surprised how sappy the main character was at times.
Wanderlust is Calling Her but He’s So Tempting
In actuality, 3.5 stars. The narrative style of this story was slippery, causing several page-backs to cement speakers and events. Add to that, January was a pure pain start-to-finish, making it difficult to not actively root against her. The quirks with the animals were a nice touch. The cowboy’s respite is an ex machina, so his actions make a lot of sense.
Nathaniel Meier is running the family ranch and dealing with the curves life throws when his old flame January comes back to town . Their attraction and romance rekindles to see if it will be lasting this time. Really enjoyed the story and looking forward to the rest of the brothers tales.
Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
I love Leslie North's books, so I'm sad to say that this one wasn't for me. I don't mind when characters are feeling in a negative way, but both Nate and January were just too full of negativity and pessimism to make this an enjoyable story.
This is a quick, highly entertaining, sweetly sexy romantic journey filled with passion and a child hood love that is given a thrilling second chance....
Nathaniel Meier is a sexy, sweet, charming and determined rancher look to keep the family ranch going and throwing his whole heart and soul into the job. Unexpected help comes to town from the least like of persons, his childhood sweetheart January Rose, who he never thought he would see again.... Loved every heart pounding twist in this emotional adventure.
This is an enchanting second-chance romance, elevated to an almost ethereal level with its lyrical prose and down-home country witticisms. Nat and January have always loved each other, but her refusal to stay in one place is at odds with his refusal to abandon his family’s ranch. This simple description belies the complex emotional turmoil that is intimately explored in this story, as January comes home for one week and finds herself right back in Nat’s orbit.
The author’s writing style is a joy to read, full of humor and heartfelt insights into the human psyche. The story is instantly captivating, the characters – from the main H/h and the secondary roles all the way through to the entire town’s cast of characters – are fully-developed and set in a perfectly described small rural Texas town.
If you’re a fan of contemporary cowboy romances (and seriously, who isn’t?) you don’t want to miss this series. This story will remind you of all the unique characters you know and every love story you’ve ever experienced. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through NetGalley.
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
I usually like second chance romances but I had hard time liking January in this book. I could understand Nat when he could not follow his dreams of writing when he had to stay and keep the ranch going and January left without a word.
I really could not understand when January just left with no word to Nat, then later we learn that she sat and watched him as he waited and could see that he was heartbroken. Nat had said that he would wait for her but she stayed away for 10 years with absolutely no word to Nat.
They really needed to talk to each other and understand what the other thinks or needs and try to compromise. They were both set in their situation and didn't see a way to change until the end. Glad that they finally figured things out and had a HEA!
Nathaniel Meier is one hardworking rancher. He is the last man standing working the ranch in Close Call. With his Grandfather and Father dead and his Mother off "finding herself", his brothers living their own lives, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders just keeping his head above water, let alone the keeping the ranch running to a profit.
With the bank on his back and selling season in full steam, Nat certainly doesn't need the love of his life turning up after being off roaming the world for ten years.
January Rose was a wanderer, yes she loved Nathaniel Miller, but she was sure she made the right decision leaving the way she did. Nat was not of the same opinion but the hurt was just as raw now as it was ten years ago.
January was out of money, and was only back at Close Call to pick up her inheritance and be on her way to another work-travel assignment in Nepal. She was a bit shocked to find her mother Mona was living in a van on Close Call land. Mona was hoping January would stick around for a while and seeing as she was here now, she was going to make sure January got to work helping Nat herd the cattle ready for sale.
Of course Mona knows how January and Nat feel about each other, and if she can get January to finally leave her wandering ways behind and give Nat the chance he needs to convince her to stay, she will use every trick in the book along with a little bit of guilt for good measure to make it happen.
Great read in the first book of the series and looking forward to reading more about the Meier brothers.
Thanks to Netgalley and Relay Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.
