Dangerous Exes can be read without reading the first in the series. I love learning Jessie and Isla’s story. Dirty Exes agency was developed by Isla and Blaire to expose cheating exes. This story gives a bigger look at why it was started. It’s riveting, and I didn’t want to put it down. I love how Rachel Van Dyken captures her characters and brings you into their world.
Dangerous Exes by Rachel Van Dyken a five-star read you won’t want to leave. This is the second book in the Liar’s, Inc series and I do think they could be read as stand-alone but I would recommend you read Dirty Exes as you will want to go back and read it as you will adore all of the characters, but in this one I am betting you will adore Goo-Pah as she is just sublime!! She nearly made me leak laughing about chickens. Jessie Beckett could ruin my life any time he wants. But I will be the first to bow down and let Isla have him, if she wants him as she is his mortal enemy. This book has it all, drama, passion, humour and some of the best scenes ever written. I cant wait for the next book in the series, which ex will we see next?
What a fantastic read! Prepare to laugh out loud while reading this romcom. Loved Jessie and Isla’s chemistry and banter. The supporting characters are just as fabulous as the main characters. The story of two broken hearts that don’t trust easy are forced together will have you swoon, root for them and laugh so hard (pun intended) you may want to refrain from drinking while reading.... A great addition to this series. I highly recommend this book.
I have been waiting for Ilsa and Jessie's book and let me just say it was well worth the wait. Ilsa and Jessie were both tainted about love. One because their heart was broken and the other because they were used.
This book was amazing. And I loved it
I am not sure I’ve ever laughed so hard reading a book before. This book had a bit of everything - enemies to lovers, grovelling and so much hilarious banter I was in tears laughing so hard. I loved the evolution of Jessie and Isla’s relationship, and the side characters were fantastic!
5 stars, and probably one of my favourite rom coms of 2018
Dangerous Exes written by Rachel Van Dyken

“I thought my life was over that day in that wine shop. And then I met my soon-to-be-best-friend Blaire and realized… It had only just begun.”
You can’t go wrong with a RVD read. This book did not disappoint. It was full of heart, revenge, humor, second chances, friendship, regret, chemistry...did I mention humor. As you turn the pages you fall more in love with the characters.
“I was going to destroy her the same way she destroyed me, from the inside out.”
I laughed, cried, fanned myself, wanted to strangle Jessie one minute and hug him the next. Colin really cracked me up throughout this book. Friendships between girlfriends shine strong throughout this book...girl power you do not mess with!
“I was dead anyway. My soul was crushed.”
You’ll have a hard time putting this book down...so grab a book, beverage, blanket and get comfy.
“...you should be able to imagine your life without the person you love—the difference is, you shouldn’t want to.”
I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced, with a little bit of fun revenge, and sweet romance. The author does a great job having the readers fall in love with the characters and literally read the whole story in one setting!
Another fun book by Rachel Van Dyken. This is the second book in the Liars, Inc series. I started with this book and now need to go read Dirty Exes. This is a stand alone and I can attest that you do not have to read the first book to follow the story. This is the story of Jessi and Isla and how they are trying to save their reputations based on the fall out from Dirty Exes. It was sweet and funny and I loved Isla’s crazy aunt. This book reminded me of the Wingman Inc series- so if you enjoyed those, you will like this book.
I loved the first book but this one I loved so much more.
I absolutely loved the heroine in this book. I was actually dying for their story.
Another great book from Rachel Van Dyken. I'm waiting for Isla and Jessie story since I see the chemistry they share on Dirty Exes. Their relationship is funny and teasing all the time. Love express in different ways and is funny to see it through this two.
I received a ARC from Netgalley for a honest review.
This book was absolutely amazing! I loved the quirks about each character and how it complimented the other. I absolutely adored Isla! Everyone needs an Isla in their life. There were a ton of feels from being anxious to swooning and everything in between. Definitely recommend.
Ilsa Turner is 1\2 of the Dirty Exes PI company. Jessie Beckett is wants to take it all away after a mistake that ruined his reputation. From the beginning, their chemistry was off the charts even though they were both out to get back at the other. Add in Goo-Poh - Isla's Aunt, some farm animals, Colin and Blair - from Dirty Exes, and you have the recipe for another hilarious book from Rachel Van Dyken.
I enjoyed this book and would love to hear more about this group of friends and the PI company. She did a great job with the plot, and even the minor characters entertained me with their antics.
This book was so good. I didn't want to start in the middle of the series so I one clicked the first book and read it.
The second one was better because it was much more angst and will they won't they.
I really enjoyed the hate to love aspect of the book the most. Man Jesse really hated Isla at first.
Great job Rachel with another outstanding book.
I received a copy of this ebook from Netgalley and Skyscrape in exchange for an honest review.
I adored this book. I loved the first one and this one did not disappoint. I loved the hate to love relationship with Isla and Jessie. The chemistry was amazing. Goo-Poh was so funny! I think I have just found a go to author. Her books are entraining, funny and sweet all in one!
Isla and Jessie have unfinished business according to Jessie. He is upset (rightly so) that Isla helped his now ex-wife to destroy his reputation for her own gain. Isla tries to make amends in her own way which were quite lacking to Jessie's liking. Both of them find themselves questioning their sanity when they take their game to the level where they have to pretend to be in a relationship. The situations they find themselves in lend themselves to push each other's buttons. Isla's aunt, Goo-Poh does not help their situation at all but was quite the comic relief in this story. RVD did a good job of sprinkling humor and wit throughout their story. I did enjoy it and was interested to see how she was going to bring these two together in the end. I did read the first book in this series and, although I was quite able to follow along, I don't necessarily think you had to have read it for this story to make sense.
I received an ARC from Skyscape for my honest review.
A solid follow-up to Dirty Exes, Isla and Jessie battle it out as they both deal with the fallout of the events in the first book. Jessie is determined to put the PI business that ruined his image out of business. Isla is trying to save the company she built after a disastrous divorce. The only solution is the one that puts them together. A fake relationship might solve both of their problems, if only they can keep their emotions out of it.
Another funny, sexy book by Rachel Van Dyken. It was also great to see the machinations of the first book's couple continue.
Isla doubted Jessie and in doing so ruined his reputation. Now Jessie is out to ruin Isla...and it's going to be one heck of a ride!
As Jessie is hatching his plans to take Isla down, the two of them get caught up in a kiss - that gets witnessed by the whole world. In order to get out of their predicament, Isla, Jessie and their friends come up with a plan that involves a big ring and some wedding plans. Who knew that on the way to the altar, a passion would be unleashed that turns something that was "fake" into the real thing!
I loved the fact that Isla and Jessie both had little quirks. The quirks made me root for the future of their relationship even more. I really loved that eventually it was Isla's oddities that made Jessie realize how much he loved her. I definitely want a Goo-Pah to show up at my house with a marriage bed and some chicken!
As always, Rachel left me laughing until I cried, eager to turn the next page and ready for more when I get to the last page. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book and hope that the wait is short!
I thorough enjoyed this story, it was the perfect relax, sit back, and prepare to laugh. This story revolves around Jessie and Isla, who we met in Dirty Exes, Colin and Blaire's story. Jessie and Isla get themselves into one thing after another and sometimes its not even their fault!! I loved the chemistry between Jessie and Isla, also that sexual tension was off the charts. I completely feel in love with Jessie, he seemed to change so much and grow and dam he was funny. He could really give it to Isla, with the highlighting jokes, note taking, scheduling. You cannot discuss this book without an honourable mention going to Goo-Poh, she was the bomb. Between her chickens and traditions, I can't explain you just need to read the book. Goo-Poh was an amazing character, her love for her niece and the lengths to which she goes to show it is hilarious. If what you seek is a easy, light, funny, quirky read then you need this book. I look forward to Rachel's next story.
LOVED this installment, but then I love most RVD books. Especially loved Goo-pah! As usual, great characters, engaging story and really hard to put down. Can't wait to see what RVD does next.
In Dangerous Exes (Liars, Inc. #2) by Rachel Van Dyken we are brought back into the folds of Dirty Exes, a PI firm that catches cheaters. This time to follow the escapades Isla and Jessie. After Dirty Exes investigated Jessie, his reputation was ruined and now he wants revenge – but when everything gets more complicated and all the faking becomes reality will all the black and white survive the arrival of a rainbow?
If you are looking for a fun read with some great banter and a Goo Poh (you will just have to read the book) then this is for you. I received a copy of this book through Net Galley for my honest review.
