“I don’t want to hold your heart, Isla … I don’t even want to own it…” I brushed a kiss across her lips. “I just want you to share it with me.”

Isla and Blaire created Dirty Exes from the ground up, they have poured everything into this company trying to ensure that other women never have to deal with the hurt they went through and coming out the other side with nothing. When they take on a case involving Jessie Beckett they find out what it’s like to be wrong and the ramifications it creates. Jessie Beckett has been living a lie that he is finally able to get rid of in the form of his ex-wife, however, thanks to his ex-wife Vanessa working with Dirty Exes his reputation is unfairly ruined because of it.
So, what do you think will happen with a control freak and an obsessive planner who wants to fix everything? I can tell you it is pure perfection!! Jessie is set on ruining Dirty Exes for what they did to his reputation and the impact it has on the charity he holds so dear to his heart. He doesn’t care about the consequences or who he might hurt in the process. Isla is hoping that Jessie will drop this whole revenge thing and place the blame on who it belongs to, his ex.
When Isla and Jessie are caught in a gossip worthy situation they decide that sometimes the best defense is creating an even better story. When things start to get more intertwined and lines start to blur they are left wondering what is real and what is still make believe. I have to say I was really excited for this one because I LOVED the first book between Colin and Blaire (which I have to say is still my fav) but I really fell in love with Jessie so much more in this one, so Isla falling for him was a no brainer with how amazing Jessie really was. Plus, Isla was so good for him you couldn’t help but root for them the whole time!! And Goo-Poh how can you not love her!

“The psychopath opens cereal from the bottom of the box.” I made a motion with my hands while Blaire frowned. “Exactly! It’s strange. That’s what sociopaths do!”

Rachel Van Dukes never disappoints and this book was no different. Rachel manages to hit all the notes in Dangerous Exes...funny, sweet, sexy. I was thoroughly entertained.

Rachel Van Dyken is the queen of the Rom-Com books. Dangerous Exes is a funny and sexy enemies-to-lovers romance that will have you cackling with laughter from beginning to end. The sexual tension between Jessie and Isla is beyond contentious. His black-and-white OCD life and her colorful-but-scheduled orderly life clash and cause some heated (read: HOT) explosions. Throw in Isla's crazy, old Chinese Aunt and you have the perfect recipe for a hilarious romance.

I loved this book. It's one of my favorites of Rachel Van Dykens. Great characters, wonderful hero and supporting cast, fast paced. I hope there'll be more in this series. I would miss these characters.

Dangerous Exes had me on my toes from the start. Jessie & Isla have been friends, enemies & lovers. Jessie & Isla have strong chemistry between them. There are also some good pranks too. Can they get along before they destroy each other? I loved this book until the end.

A really good read with some wonderful characters but Isla was a struggle for me. She was supposed to be this strong, go get em woman but yet was really weepy and too easily broken. Her grandmother was kind of awkward and I really wanted to like her but she just didn’t work for me.

Of course this is a RVD book and I adore all of her reads and I loved the first book but for some reason I couldn’t love this one. The pieces wouldn’t come together in my head and the wit seemed forced.

All the pieces are here for a fun adventure and I’m sure I’m just having an off reader day. I did love Jessie he’s the best part of the story!

After a big mistake Isla and her PI company are in trouble with an angry football player named Jessie. These two have fireworks between them. This was a great enemies to lovers read that I enjoyed to the last page.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

Isla is just trying to hold onto her business that she's built from nothing. One horrible client may ruin it all. When Dirty Exes is caught in the cross hairs of Jessie Beckett, ex NFL quarterback and seriously hot man, with a mission to dismantle Isla's business.
But when tempers flare their world gets more complicated than either of them could possibly dream. How do you right a wrong without making it worse?

Dangerous Exes was a ton of fun, hilariously addicting and oh so sexy! I have been excited for this book since I finished reading the last page of Dirty Exes! I'm happy to say that I loved this book just as much as the first! Revenge, lust, friendship and romance filled this story along with my favorite thing of all, enemies to lovers. So if you're a fan of romance stories that have love to hate in the pages, then you definitely have to pick this one up.

“You’re a good kisser, Isla.” He tilted my chin toward him. “But it’s not enough— I will shut you down, that I promise.”
He walked off leaving me hot, breathless, and pissed.
I opened my car door and tossed my purse in the opposite seat, then pressed my fingertips against my lips and cursed the universe for doing the impossible. Making me feel alive again— by way of my enemy.

If you haven't read Dirty Exes yet, I highly recommend you do (here's my review). Everything started in that book and it continued to play out in this one. So going into this story, I already liked Isla Turner and Jessie Beckett. Towards the end of Dirty Exes they were slowly becoming friends and there was even chemistry between them, but that all changed. Jessie's life went up in smoke and he set his sights to destroy Isla's PI business. Just like she destroyed his life.

I hated his smirk more than I hated his body.
Because it made me react.
Hell, everything he did made me react and want to seek vengeance with a fiery purpose on his damned soul.

I couldn't help but laugh when Jessie showed up wherever Isla was. He infiltrated her life and it started to drive her crazy. But when a kiss happened between them and it became public, because of Jessie's high profile life, things shifted. Jessie was still trying to accomplish his goal, Isla was fighting back, yet now there were kisses and touches between them. I loved how they toyed with each. I loved the games they played. But I loved the passion between them the most. It was crazy addicting and created so many explosive scenes bursting with sexual tension.

She grinned excitedly, then took a deep sip and moaned as she closed her eyes. “You know me well.”
I’m sure she didn’t mean to say it.
Just like my heart didn’t mean to react to the words.
My body felt warm all over as her eyes met mine.
I cleared my throat and looked away while she returned her attention to the game.

No matter how hard Jessie wanted to hate Isla, he couldn't ignore what was between them. And Isla couldn't deny that she was attracted to Jessie and that he made her feel things. Oh I loved the both of them so much! Jessie was seductive and controlling, yet he showed us more sides of him. We learned his deepest, darkest secrets and it made me fall for him that much harder. Isla was also controlling but she had this energy to her that was addictive. She probably got it from her great aunt, Goo-Pah. That woman was hilarious and she made me laugh so hard I cried.

Maybe my view of perfection was wrong— had been wrong all along.
It wasn’t the perfect house.
The perfect wife.
It wasn’t the perfect life or career.
It was moments like this, with a woman I would never understand or deserve, lying on my lap asleep, and me wishing I could hold on to the seconds a little bit longer.

Desire and lust swirled between Jessie and Isla anytime they were near each other. With emotions and feelings mixing into the moments too, I was obsessed. And you couldn't tear me away from this book! If it's not completely obvious, I absolutely loved this book and that ending! I've realized that every single time I pick up a book by Rachel Van Dyken my spirits are always lifted. Her stories are feel good, heartfelt and continually make me smile and laugh. So I can't wait to read whatever Rachel Van Dyken publishes next!

There can’t be many book boyfriends who get to be the lead in two seperate books with two different women. In fact, Jessie Beckett, ex-NFL star and man with a huge chip on his shoulder is the only one I’ve ever come across. He was Blaire’s pretend love interest in Dirty Exes, and no, he’s here, being the man that Isla is having to fight to keep her PI business alive.
Jessie has a reason for his anger, after all, things didn’t end well for him in the previous book, and not just because he lost the girl. He lost everything or was on the way to doing so.
Now, he’s out for revenge and Isla is his target.
But, somehow, that gets twisted and turned around and now?
He’s in a fake relationship with her.
Pretend love. Pretend engagement… pretend forever after.
Sometimes we even pretend to hate someone when really… well, Jessie is about to find out.
His life is black and white, and Isla is going to dash color all over it.
It’s hard to believe, but I loved Jessie in this book more than the last, he got to show his true colors this time, but he’s packing a lot of emotional trauma still thanks to his ex-wife, Vanessa. Isla, too, has some baggage that’s left her a scarred and scared to trust a man. But, when these two are alone in a room, it’s not long before the chemistry wins and the sexual tension gets strung higher and higher.
Can they put all the bad stuff to bed and make a real life together or will it all disappear in a puff of smoke.
This was a hot, sexy story, with great characters, it was nice catching up with Blaire and Colin again and let’s all give a warm welcome to Goo-Poh, she was just about the craziest person in there.

I have yet to be disappointed by a RVD read and Dangerous Exes didn’t disappoint! It follows Isla and Jesse from the first book, Dirty Exes, and is a continuation on their hate-love-love to haverelationship.

I loved Isla from book one but Jesse really got on my nerves! BUT he totally redeemed himself with Isla in this book, well toward the end anyway. He was still such a dumb butt for the most part but was easy to warm up to. He was just such a guy.
I loved their bickering and smart banter. Rachel sure knows how to write friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers!

I just finished reading this book and once again, I have been swept away in a van Dyken book! This author really knows how to work the rom-com genre and she does it well. I loved Jessie from the first encounter with him in the first book in this series, Dirty Exes, and that love just grew in this one. Poor Jessie, he's really been put through the ringer by his ex-wife and the emotional damage goes deep. Thankfully, he has a best friend who's always there for him, and a quirky woman to take his mind off his woes - when they're not clawing at each other's throats. You see, Jessie blames Isla for the downturn in his fortunes after things blew up with his ex and his reputation took a hit. So he wants to take a it, too - at her business. There's a lot of push and pull between them before they finally give in to their attraction and that's when the real fun starts.

Isla life comes down to her PI company. After a relationship that did not end in a friendly way, all her dedication and focus was aimed at making her business thrive. Her company was the way she found to move on, to start over and to gain her independence. Blaire, her best friend and partner, is someone who understands her and shares the same determination. To say then that Dirty Exes is extremely important in Isla's life is euphemism. However, her legacy is threatened because of a case that did not turn out as expected.
Jessie wants to destroy Dirty Exes at all costs. Because of the company, his life was affected, his image has been shaken and he was removed from the charitable work he did. Being a former famous quarterback, everything about him becomes news, especially if it is a negative thing. The press delighted in so much gossip and lies, all thanks to his ex-wife and the owners of the PI company. With nothing to lose, he wants revenge, targeting the company and mainly Isla.
And with Jessie following all of Isla's footsteps, invading her personal space and giving her a taste of her own medicine, the spirits will exalt themselves, confusions will occur until a yoga class will be the trigger to put them back into the media. Willing to suffer no further damage to their images, Isla and Jessie will make an unorthodox agreement and thus support a lie to clean their images. But what is the limit between reality and fantasy? The two will find that crossing the line is easier than they might think.
Jessie and Isla were hilarious. The two are very similar characters, both crave control, they feel with purpose when everything goes as expected. It was interesting to follow Jessie’s black and white life being bombarded with colors, courtesy of Isla. They have serious problems of trust, fruits of problems with old relationships, but little by little they learn to trust, to know and to understand each other.
The jewelry scene was cute. All the quarrels and misunderstandings were written in a light, almost comical way. It is the classic story of enemies who fall in love, but that works well, is written in a brilliant way.
The only criticism I have to make is against Isla's aunt, Goo-Poh. She was so well written, so well detailed, functioning as the comic relief, that her excesses irritated me. I understand that everything she did during the book is part of her culture, but I found her extremely selfish, wanting everything in her way, interfering always and never taking into account the wishes of Isla and not respecting other people. When someone disagreed, she appealed for blackmail, or simply ignored and did what she wanted. If she were my aunt, I would have put her in her place.
Jessie blamed Isla, but Blaire was not the victim of his anger. I did not get it. She is as guilty, or even more so than Isla. Overall, it's a great read, with a couple who failed in the past, starring in some epic discussions, but deep down they can not handle the fact that they're attracted to each other. Jessie's monochrome world is on borrowed time. Hurricane Isla is coming, and with her a plethora of colors, sparkles and even a bed with a carved dragon. How does this story end? Just reading to know.

I was practically laughing the whole way throughout this book. What a little gem this book turned out to be. I was hooked instantly when I found out Jessie was an ex NFL quarterback, as I love anything to do with sports in a romance book. Then the way he was written made me fall in love with him even more. He mightn't have thought so at the beginning of the book, but Isla is his perfect match in every way.
But hands down the funniest character in the story is Goo-Poh. I loved her to bits. She added a craziness to this story that had me not only laughing out loud constantly, but churning through the pages just to see what she goy up to next.
Brilliantly written book that I will definitely reread again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book

Dangerous Exes is a perfect Rachel Van Dyken romantic comedy. It’s hilarious and ridiculous and somehow heartwarming at the same time. Crazy grandmas and chickens aside, I absolutely fell in love with Jesse and Isla and I loved every aspect of their story. From the friendship, to the hate, to the love, I was 100% obsessed with it all.

I love Isla and Blaire and I’m so sad this story is over!

Holy crap

Seriously… stop what you are doing and read this dang book

I read book 1 and it was a solid 4 star read from me because it is really well written and I assumed the same from this book but I really enjoyed the premise of this story. If you are unfamiliar with the series it is a company who are PIs and they find the dirty cheater and bring them down. Now it is a series however it is standalone.

This book is about Isla and Jessie and their history is talked about in book 1 but it has a great recap in book 2 to bring readers up to speed.
Isla lives and breathes for her company Dirty Exes and in book 1 she tried to show that Jessie was a cheater. In book 2 Jessie comes back enraged and promises to ruin Isla because the “evidence” found was not real. This book is about enemies to lovers and it is sexual, laigh out loud funny and overall a sweet story. This book is what happens when the papparazi find Isla and Jessie accidentally kissing and the hilarious situations they keep finding themselves in trying to un-mess up their lives. Goo-Pah is Isla’s aunt who is a traditional Chinese healer and old time beliefs. The sitatuions they all run into are downright hilarious. The sex scenes are amazingly laid out. And even though their story I believe takes part over the span of 3 months you actually feel the intensity and honesty of their relationship and I truly believe they got their perfect ending and nothing was insta.

Isla is the color in Jessie’s world and Jessie is the calm in Isla’s perfectly organized world. Jessie is absolutely man crush material.

I couldn’t put this book down.. and now I need a nap because of it!

Again a wonderful funny and heartwarming romance from Rachel van Dyken.

Loved Isla and Jessies story... they both fit each other so perfect with their little quirks.
And the best... the hilarious 'laughed so hard i couldn't breath' Goo Poh ^^

Rachel Van Dyken continues her Liars, Inc. series with Dangerous Exes, the tale of PI dedicated to exposing cheaters Isla and hunky ex-quarterback Jessie Beckett.

When Isla took on Jessie’s vindictive ex as a client, all evidence pointed at Jessie as the guilty party. It turned out though, that he was innocent but his reputation got tarnished regardless, he lost his charity work and now he’s mad and out for blood and payback, particularly Isla’s PI company.

The only problem is that he’s also attracted to the smart and mouthy woman and when a kiss between them goes viral serious damage control needs to be done. Denying they’re arch-enemies and pretending they’re in love, moving in together and more will be their undoing, but what will happen when Jessie’s initial plan for revenge can’t be stopped?

Rachel Van Dyken’s vivacity is palpable in this fun and sexy story which is well balanced with the love-hate exchanges between Jessie and Isla, the absolutely sizzling moment and the swoon worthiness of the love that grows between them. I enjoyed every single moment from the obsessive stalking, to the pretending to the not pretending they’re more than attracted to each other.

As with the previous book in the series, which I highly recommend, Dangerous Exes has many fun and LOL moment that are share worthy, but then I’d probably be sharing the entire book and its best to enjoy it curled up in your favorite reading nook with your beverage and snacks of choice.

Both Jessie and Isla are loveable characters with the tough exterior and soft underbelly who are perfect for one another and the more they have to pretend and augment their pretend relationship the more the realize that their fake relationship is very real. He’s monochromatic while she’s all color and chaos and together they make a couple I loved reading about and rooting for.

Dangerous Exes is a funny, sweet and sexy, fast paced story I devoured in a single sitting. I loved getting Blaire and Colin from Dirty Exes back but what made the story absolutely ROFL outrageous was Isla’s nutty aunt Goo-Poh. I can’t wait to see what Rachel comes up with next.

Dangerous Exes is book #2 of the Liars Inc. series by Rachel Van Dyken. It is standalone contemporary romance told by several points of view with a happy ending.
