Dangerous Exes is book number two in the Liars, Inc. series, where we are given the story of Jessie who in book #1 was the center of a Dirty Exes investigation...

Jessie is a man on a mission to take down the PI's who have ruined his life, and to make them suffer just as he has. Unfortunately, Jessie doesn't know who he is messing with, and his plan to take down Isla is swiftly met with some payback of her own...

Isla was once burned in a relationship so solidly that she has devoted herself to helping people in her very same past situation. Butting heads with Jessie is the last thing her thriving company needs, but if he is prepared to fight her, she is going to fight as dirty as it gets...

While I enjoyed this story, for the most part, I ultimately couldn't connect with the characters, or the scenario as a whole. While funny, this was another RVD book with the humor leaning to the overly silly side, which at times is amusing, but tends to feel a little redundant after awhile.

This book was, as usual, very well written, and is comprised of one humorous incident after another. With a crazy Aunt who steals the show and some severe sexual tension between Jessie and Isla, this read had it's extremely good moments, and some that just couldn't hold my attention.

While this wasn't my favorite Rachel Van Dyken book, it will definitely NOT be my last.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

It’s Rachel Van Dyken, so it’s probably no surprise that Dangerous Exes is an unputdownable, swoon-worthy romance. Jessie has a grudge against Isla, and she’s not his biggest fan. He’s trying to extract a little payback when he has to begrudgingly pause his plans, call a truce and work closely with her. Neither like each other, but they realize they may have gotten their initial assessments wrong as they spend more time together and begin to unravel some misunderstandings that had affected their opinions. They banter and bicker it out while the sexual tension escalates and their emotional connection deepens. Their lighthearted enemies-to-lovers dynamic is so much fun to read. Dangerous Exes is an entertaining, sexy and thoroughly romantic must-read.

Dangerous Exes (Liars, Inc., #2) by Rachel Van Dyken is classic. A contemporary romance that can be read as a stand alone, but to truly appreciate the position of the main characters it would be beneficial to read Dirty Exes. Yeah, I'm rooting for the underdog. Go Jessie! Wait, Go Isla! Lies, entanglements, subterfuge, humor, romance. Did I leave anything out? It's a fantastically entertaining story that compliments book 1 and bumps up the heat level to scorching. Who knew Jessie had it in him? If you've read Dirty Exes, you'll really like this one.

This is book two of the Liar's, Inc. series. Isla and Jesse were friends, but after Jesse found out he was a case for Isla things haven't been good between this pair. He is determined to ruin Isla life the way he feels his was ruined. Will these friends turned enemies find a way back or are they forever doomed.

Jesse had his life turned upside down by Liars, Inc, and he has an axe to grind with the company and the women behind the downturn his personal life has taken in the public eye.

Iris has built her business from the ground up and doesn’t like feeling like it is being threatened, when all she did was the job she was hired to do, especially when the one threatening her business is a cheater.

These two start out with huge amounts of animosity towards each other. Their barbs are more than banter and are fired with the intent to hurt. But as they find themselves forced to work together to deal with unexpected consequences, they find their lines blurring, and the challenges between them seem to feel more like attraction than animosity.

This was full of humorous moments - both from Jesse and Iris, and from Iris’s aunt. Goo-Poh adds great character and some really fun scenes to this story. She is over the top and traditional, and I loved both the way Iris loved her and the way she loved (or overloved) Iris right back.

Having met both of these characters in Dirty Exes, I already knew I loved Iris. I wasn’t so sure about Jesse, especially since he turned his anger on Iris rather than his ex-wife. But it didn’t take me long to fall in long with the fire between these two enemies who became lovers. They each had their own issues to work through before trusting and opening up, but the journey through those issues sure was entertaining!

Oh. My. God. Dangerous Exes was fan-fucking-tastic. Seriously, it made me so damn happy and giggly, I was in enemies-to-lovers heaven. And I loved every freaking page of it.

If you haven't read the first book in the Liars, Inc. series, here's a bit of a run down for you. Are you ready? Jessie and Colin are best buds. Isla and Blaire are also best friends, as well as business partners. Jessie first dated Blaire before marrying Queen of the Soulless, Vanessa, who only used him for his fame and money. Oh yeah, Vanessa also happens to be Colin's sister. Angry and evil Vanessa hired Liars, Inc. to basically humiliate and ruin Jessie's life. Now he's understandably angry and wants to bring down their business. Blaire and Isla come up with the brilliant plan to fix Jessie's reputation. Isla dates Jessie to show that he's not the asshole they made him out to be. What started off as a good idea quickly snowballs into the big ball of hilarious mess.

You know what... Ignore everything I said and read both books. It's best to experience them for yourself. I haven't read the first book, but you can bet that will change very quickly. I simply loved all of the characters in Dangerous Exes. Jessie and Isla's journey was so damn beautiful. Both learn what it's like to finally be loved for who they are. From that, they can open their lives to color and passion, which was something they needed. As much as I loved them, I gotta say it was Isla's Aunt Betsy (or Goo-Poh) that stole the show. She was hilarious! Oh, that tea scene... Fucking sexy and I could not stop giggling like a damn schoolgirl. Seriously, though, I can't rave about this book enough. I laughed until I cried and reached for a fan in the sexy moments. If you love enemies-to-lovers romances like I do, then you need to pick this series up.

i think i liked this more than the first one, though jessie was frustrating for like 25% of the book. he was just petty and immature and i wanted to strangle him. but he grows up and i ended up really liking him. isla is a fabulous character too, and her aunt! loved her. overall this was cute and i liked it.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...

4.5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book; to me it was actually more hilarious than Dirty Exes and that’s saying something because Blaire was a hot mess.

I do suggest reading Dirty Exes first just so you can understand what happened with our crazy group most especially Jessie.

I loved Jessie and Ilsa; at first I was a little wary about them and the book did start off a little slow but soon it took off and I was hooked. They were opposites that fit and understood each other which made for some steamy times ;)

I was so sad when it finished; I would have loved an epilogue :)

I loved Ilsa’s aunt, she was so crazy!

Steamy, thrilling, funny, this book has it all! I really enjoyed the first book of this series, this follow up did not disappoint. I love the way the story develops off what happened in the last book but you can still read this book on it's own too.
Dont miss out on this steamy thrill.

Book 2 in the Liars, Inc. series delivers what you expect from Rachel Van Dyken. Jessie is not a happy camper. He blames Dirty Exes for ruining his life and taking the small measure of peace he finally gets from getting rid of his ex-wife and throwing it into a whirlpool of chaos. While you would think the blame would fall solidly on his ex-girlfriend Blaire, it is Isla he is focused on. He thought they'd become friends and blames her for giving his ex-wife the ammunition needed to throw his life in a tizzy. Circumstances throw them together in order to protect both Jessie and Isla's business and soon the fireworks become much more personal in nature. There are lovely twists, steamy scenes, redemption and some crow being eaten in several instances that made this a delicious read indeed. Copy provided by Netgalley for an honest opinion!

Dangerous Exes is the second book in the Liars, Inc. series by the amazingly talented, Rachel Van Dyken. You can read it as a standalone but I do recommend reading Dirty Exes. It’s hilarious, sexy, and so much fun! It will give you more background into Jessie and Isla’s story.

Ilsa made one mistake and now Jessie hates her. Wants to take her and her business down. To ruin her business like she ruined his reputation. He had it all planned out. It was in motion. She wasn’t going to back down from this fight. She built this business from the ground up. She wasn’t going to let one ex-NFL football player and pain in the ass take that away from her. Even if he had one fine ass. Yeah...this was definitely going to be a dangerous game especially after they are caught kissing.

And now he needs her and she needs him to save both their asses. A new plan was in action and it involves everything from kisses, tea, football games to a crazy aunt. It also includes epic sexual tension, and banter full of flirt, sass, and emotion. But is it enough for Jessie to let go of his revenge plans? Can he trust her? Can she trust him? Will she bring color into her life?

Overall...I ❤️ Jessie and Isla! I loved every minute of it! It made me laugh, cry, and get sooo hot and bothered. Their tension made it all the more better. I felt the chemistry. I felt the emotion. It’s a hilarious, sexy and fun ride that you do not want to miss!

Quotes:

“You’re a good kisser, Isla.” He tilted my chin toward him. “But it’s not enough—I will shut you down, that I promise.”

“Know a thing or two about sexual tension?”
“I almost mounted you next to the bread basket last night—so that’s a strong yes.”

“Hey, what are you like at scrapbooking stores, does your brain actually explode or do you just orgasm right next to the washable markers?”

Thank you to NetGalley who sent me this ARC to review in advance of the book's release.

Dangerous Exes is book #2 in the Liars, Inc. series, and I did not read book #1 prior to this one. I think I may have enjoyed this book more had I read book 1 first. It does pretty heavily reference events that must have transpired in that book, however, you won't be lost if you haven't read it.

A rather predictable read, but I did enjoy it...there were some truly stellar moments that made me laugh out loud. I apologize that I can't include any quotes as it was an uncorrected proof that was distributed by NetGalley, I don't want to include something that may not be included in the final draft. I'll just say the scene stealer for me was Goo-Pah and the chickens. Gah, I'll never look at a chicken the same way! 3 stars.

You only need a pair of binoculars to see the line between love and hate when it comes to Isla and Jessie. Isla knows she made a mistake and she's ready to move past it, but Jessie has other ideas and they aren't to just forget about all he's lost because of Isla.

I absolutely adored this couple, and I was so happy to see Jessie get the HEA he deserved after meeting him in the previous book. Isla was the perfect woman to bring color to his life, with the help of Goo-Poh (Isla's Aunt) of course, and I thought they suites each other perfectly. Their banter had me cracking up on multiple occasions while the sexual tension between them had me cheering for them to just tear each other's clothes off already.

Overall, this was an amazing story to read and one I absolutely enjoyed. But if for no other reason, you need to read this book to the brilliance that is Goo-Poh. Trust me when I say she's the perfect kind of crazy.

This is the second book in the Liars, Inc. series. I would probably say this is not entirely a standalone. The main characters first met in the first book in the series. The whole situation kind of picks up right where it left off in the first book. However, there is a pretty good summary of all that went down in the first book between the two main characters. This was an enemies to lovers. I did have a hard time understanding exactly why Jesse was so angry at Isla but yet, his ex, Blaire, escaped his anger. I loved seeing Blaire and Colin show up in this book as well. Goo-Poh was absolutely hilarious! I really enjoyed this book and I’d recommend it to others.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Skyscape for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it!!! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this ARC and watch the story continue. I think we all need an Isla in our lives. She is full of spunk and to read about her and Jessie going back and forth while trying to show a fake relationship to the outside world was quite entertaining. This is a fun read. A romcom that you definitely want to pick up!

Isla has her own PI company which she owns with her best friend. They are known for helping women get out of bad relationships.

Jessie is one of the guys who was burned by their investigations, and he is ready to get even.

Isla has built everything she owns. She doesn't open up to many people and uses her attitude as a shield.

Jessie has nothing left after his reputation has been ruined. He was very OCD and wanted his life to look prefect even if it wasn't.

This enemies to lovers book was such a great addition to the Liars, Inc. series. The characters had a connection in the 1st book, and it just seemed to grow as the story progressed.

These two stay in denial for so long, but they always keep gravitating to each other. I loved their banter and how they both were able to break through each others wall to prove that they were worthy of love.

4.5 Stars!
Isla Turner is a gorgeous woman living in LA who owns a PI company with her best friend called Dirty Exes. They are well known in Hollywood for being fixers. Then they make one mistake and it comes back to haunt them in the form of hot ex-NFL quarterback Jessie Beckett.

Jessie blames Dirty Exes for ruining his squeaky clean image, and turning his life upside down. He was finally getting his life on track when they ruined everything, and tarnished his good name. He decides the only way to fix his reputation is to destroy theirs. His main target was Isla. He'd trusted her, but they'd now gone from friends to enemies in the blink of an eye. He was angry, felt betrayed, and was prepared to get revenge and take her down.

Everywhere Isla turns there's Jessie Beckett. He's practically stalking her, and seems to get joy out of irritating her. This sexy jerk is driving her insane. He's become a thorn in her side as they continue trying to one up each other. It's war until one unexpected kiss changes everything and they then have to play nice for the press. Jessie doesn't like her, but can't help noticing how beautiful she is. Fighting his attraction was almost as hard as hating her. Isla was fascinated by him one moment, and wanted to kill him the next, but soon he becomes impossible to resist. As they spend time together, to their surprise they grow closer. He found he could be himself with her, and she made him feel vulnerable. As Isla begins falling she wonders whats real, and what's pretending? Is everything a game, or can she trust Jessie with her heart?

Dangerous Exes, book 2 in the Liars, Inc. series is a sexy, hilarious enemies to lovers romance. Both Jessie and Isla have major trust issues to overcome as they start opening up their hearts to one another. I've really enjoyed this series. Both books were fantastic! It's romantic comedy at it's best. I adored Goo-Poh. I laughed so hard, but then there were also many serious moments. This was such a beautiful story about love that just sort of sneaks up on you when you least expect it. I can't wait to read more by this fabulous author!

I wasn’t sure how I felt about Jessie and Isla’s book when I started it, because I didn’t really love him in the last book, But I can honestly say, I LOVE him now, This book was so good, and I loved seeing Isla hold her own while also being vulnerable, A great read!

I can state that to date have not read a bad story line from Rachel. Her books either have me laughing or I am gripped in anticipation about what will happen next. This book was no exception.
Its Isla and Jessie's tale and for me long awaited !!!. Our book continues from number one where Jessie is hell bent on having his revenge. However he's targeting the wrong person.......or maybe that was just a focus to get up close to Isla.

Anyhow, the story line was witty and hot as hell. I loved Isla's Aunt - go Goo -Pah !! Hilarious !!!. Book 1 Dirty Exes was amazing but for me Dangerous Exes was sublime !!!.

Many thanks Rachel for a brilliant read yet again. 5 "I will try to destroy you but in the end you will capture my heart" Stars from me !!!

Many thanks for this opportunity x

Later peeps xxx

Jesse Beckett has it out for the Dirty Exes PI company, they after-all partnered with his ex-wife and completely derailed his life. Now he plans on doing whatever he can to get revenge and make sure they have to shut their doors, even if it means playing nice with the enemy. But once he puts his plan in motion, and starts spending copious amounts of time spying on and butting heads with the owner he realizes he may have gotten himself into more trouble than he bargained for. Because their best friends are involved the two wind up spending time together whether they want to or not, and someone has just leaked information that they are involved... which is bad for business and his reputation!!

Dangerous Exes brings readers back into the lives of former NFL quarterback Jesse Beckett and the women who shook up his carefully planned life. He is out for revenge and they are just trying to recover from the backlash his divorced caused, but in order to right all the wrongs, they may have to unite. And it brings on a whole new host of issues... and some unexpected sparks too! I loved reuniting with these characters and seeing Jesse charm the socks off the lady who captured his heart, that man is a master at weakening knees and bringing on the swoons! The moment I cracked the cover on this delectable little tale I was hooked, it was sweet, funny, steamy, and so good on my heart!! Highly recommend!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
