Jesse Beckett has it out for the Dirty Exes PI company, they after-all partnered with his ex-wife and completely derailed his life. Now he plans on doing whatever he can to get revenge and make sure they have to shut their doors, even if it means playing nice with the enemy. But once he puts his plan in motion, and starts spending copious amounts of time spying on and butting heads with the owner he realizes he may have gotten himself into more trouble than he bargained for. Because their best friends are involved the two wind up spending time together whether they want to or not, and someone has just leaked information that they are involved... which is bad for business and his reputation!!
Dangerous Exes brings readers back into the lives of former NFL quarterback Jesse Beckett and the women who shook up his carefully planned life. He is out for revenge and they are just trying to recover from the backlash his divorced caused, but in order to right all the wrongs, they may have to unite. And it brings on a whole new host of issues... and some unexpected sparks too! I loved reuniting with these characters and seeing Jesse charm the socks off the lady who captured his heart, that man is a master at weakening knees and bringing on the swoons! The moment I cracked the cover on this delectable little tale I was hooked, it was sweet, funny, steamy, and so good on my heart!! Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I loved Jessie and Isla! They were just the perfect couple!
He's out to destroy her and she just wants to murder him. This book was absolutely worth the wait!
Excellent story!
Isla and Jessie have a huge love/hate relationship along with massive sexual tension. These two are at each other throats but then something snaps between them and they can't get enough of each other. Jesse does something stupid to jeopardize his relationship with Isla and what he does in the end is so heartfelt you feel for the guy. I really enjoyed this book.
Dangerous Exes.
Dangerous to your sanity, your mind, and even your heart!
Rachel Van Dyken has created another monster! 😂 Grandma Nadine has to have tea with Goo-Poh. It is a must! A crossover is necessary. I thought no one could ever capture Grandma Nadine's brand of crazy without coming across like a cheap knock off- but that was before Goo-Poh.
Fun, funny, and a bit ridiculous, Dangerous Exes will have you enthralled in the crazy with the first attack. So while ducking from the crazy remember to keep your eye out for chickens, use your chopsticks, and never drink the wrong tea. Or always drink the wrong tea...
I’m still relatively new to Rachel Van Dyken but every book I read seems to be better than the last and she has fast become a go to author for me I really don’t know why it’s taken me so long to find this very talented and diverse writer.
Book 2 in the Liars, Inc series and this is Jessie and Isla’s story and let me tell you they have a real love hate love relationship add in the snark and banter going on between them and you get a perfect fun witty read. This couple are both very colourful characters who like to spend time hanging out with their best friends they hide their true feelings for each other with lots of snark and banter and whilst I’m talking about banter what can I say about Aunt Betsy who is Isla’s aunt apart from she is hilarious. Colourful characters with sizzling chemistry, hilarious one liners and plenty of witty banter help make this the perfect read but this book is also a love story it’s a journey the author takes us on as Jessie and Isla finally admit and except the feelings they have for each other. I laughed I screamed and i needed to get the fan out on a few occasions so I guess all I need to say is “you need to one click this fun easy to read hilarious book” .......
Following the epic disarray that happened at the end of Dirty Exes, Dangerous Exes picks up with Jessie wanting his revenge on Isla for ruining his public image and professional commitments. He'll stop at nothing to bring down her cheater catching company. The sexual tension between these two main characters was already present in the first read and just turned up a thousand notches in this book. They hated each other but couldn't stay away from one another. A typical opposites attract scenario.
I really enjoyed the back and forth banter between Isla and Jessie. They were both a little high strung, one certainly more than the other. But slowly over the course of the read, walls crumbled and compromises were made. While I found the story unrealistically fast paced (when it came to how quickly the characters moved from one giant bad decision to the next) and much of their decisions and "arrangements" were completely absurd, that's exactly what made it a fun fictional read.
I wanted to hate Jessie in the beginning. He seemed weak and a push over yet vindictive. But as Isla started to wear him down and get under his skin, a truly genuine, broken man emerged and I couldn't help but want him to find his happily ever after! His ex-wife had really done a number on him mentally and it was going to take a very strong woman to bring him back to sanity.
I truly enjoy Rachel's writing style and humor she incorporates into each book. And, the woman can certainly write a hot love scene!

Jessie has had his life turned upside down, thanks to his evil ex. However he doesn't just blame his ex, he blames the PI business that his ex hired to find dirt on him. What they found didn't look bad for him but for his ex. However, when everything is leaked to the press it is Jessie's career that takes a hit.
Isla really likes Jessie, more then she should but she knows right now he hates her and her business and she just needs to help him fix his problem and all will be well. However the one thing she didn't count on was the pull between him and her. Soon there is an attraction that scares and excites her but she has been burned before she is not sure she can risk it again.
This was a real page turner for me. No it is not full of suspense and intrique but great characters that you cannot help but to fall in love.
I absolutely loved this series!
Dangerous Exes is the story of Ilsa and Jessie, whom we met in Dirty Exes.
Their chemistry is like a house on fire hot!
As will all of Ms. Van Dyken's stories, she brings you into a world that is fantastic, smexy as all get out and funny.
Ilsa is the the founding partner in the PI firm Dirty Exes. She has some scars from her past that make her excellent at her job. Almost too good! When she is hired by Jessie's ex in the first book, there is some animosity between the two of them. This is a true enemies to lovers story.
Jessie is out for revenge, he is out for blood (even though he hates the color red). And he places the blame of his PR downfall squarely, even if unfairly on Ilsa's shoulders. He wants to make her pay!
Ilsa and Jessie's back and forth sparing is such fantastic example of foreplay! When they finally come together it's epic! And you get to see Jessie and Ilsa as their true selves. I am just gonna say, their steamy moments...well whew, they are hot but they are also so sweet...there is a moment between them, and I am not gonna give it away but it may involve a shower, a hairbrush and a kiss on the forehead that just about made me melt into my lazy-boy!
The secondary characters are phenomenal! Some are new, some are ones we have met before! I loved Goo-Poh and I wish I had my own!
And what would a Ms. Van Dyken story be without a bit a twist that you will not see coming?!? It kept me guessing until the very end!
I would highly suggest reading Dirty Exes before you read this. Even though this is a stand alone, I think you would get so much more out of this story if you read both!
Fabulous story, phenomenal characters...who could ask for more?!?
Dangerous Exes is the second in the Dirty Liars series. I loved Blaire and Colin's story in Dirty Exes and kept wondering if Jessie Beckett, hot ex-quarterback and former love of Blaire's would get together with Blaire's partner in crime, Isla. In the first book, I wasn't sure if I wanted Blaire and Jessie to get back together or if I wanted her with Colin. Jessie had a lot to answer for, but I felt like he redeemed himself. By the end I didn't think he deserved to get Blaire back-he burnt that bridge. He needed to start with someone new.
If you aren't familiar with what kind of work Blaire and Isla do-well they investigate cheating partners.
I'm the Beyonce of catching cheaters with their pants down.
Jessie's wife at the time hired them to get some dirt on him and to prove he was cheating on her. When all the while she was the cheater. But in the process, Jessie's reputation got dragged in the mud and he's still dealing with the fall out. He blames Isla for all his PR problems. He's determined that she's going to pay for all the trouble she's caused him. I think it's a case of the man doth protest too much...he took a liking to this feisty little chick and when it turned out she created more problems for him, he felt betrayed.
I glared. Jessie freaking Beckett.
Ex-client of Dirty Exes, the PI company my best friend and I built from the ground up.
Ex-quarterback.
Ex-pain in my ass.
All the time Jessie is following Isla around, stalking her, plotting her downfall is more time spent with her. The woman he wants, whether he admits it or not.
Isla's been burnt herself. She started this whole business with Blaire after her she caught her man cheating on her more than once. Trust isn't something that's going to come easily. Especially if the man in question is out for revenge. But hormones will be hormones.
And I wondered if that's what the other half of the world felt like.
The happy ones.
The ones in relationships.
Because I'd never experienced sex in that way before.
With a man who once promised to destroy me.
I love their flirty little texts as their walls come atumblin' down.
Me: Why would you send me a car?
Jessie: So you don't have to walk or drive or do anything except sit and think about all the wild sex we're going to have tonight.
But you just know there's gonna be a little drama. They are on shaky pegs at best and insecurities and their rocky pasts are going to come creeping up into the present.
There's a little wisdom in this story that helps to remind me why forgiveness is sometimes really necessary.
"The thing about forgiveness, Isla, that nobody remembers in the midst of pain and betrayal, is that we do it for ourselves-not for them. You're only punishing yourself. He knows you're angry, believe me, but right now it's hurting you more than it's hurting him."
Sometimes it's important to forgive and move on. Leave the other person in your rear view mirror. But sometimes we forgive so we can keep on moving along on our journey with that other person.
She tasted like my forever.
The person made for me.
My 4 star review is posted on Goodreads and will be posted on blog and social media upon release and links will be updated.
Jessie Beckett is fighting mad. His ex-wife along with the help of Blaire and Isla have ruined his reputation, created a media storm, and cost him his charity work. It does not matter that they were wrong about him or that his ex was vindictive, it just matters what the public thinks. So this angry, betrayed, and heartbroken man has resorted to stalking and plotting against Isla, and trying to take down their PI company.
Isla Turner has put her heart and soul into their company. She likes order, control, and is an obsessive planner. Due to her own ex issues, she is untrusting of men and strives to help women that need assistance to expose cheaters. But being wrong about Jessie could be her biggest mistake, and now she is at risk of losing what is most important to her.
These two skulk around each other, fuss, fight, scheme, and are basically at war. Until another mistake brings them further into the limelight. So they come up with a new plan to save face publicly and reduce the scandal. As they are spending more time together lines start getting blurred. They both thrive on control, but tend to make the other lose it. She brings color and chaos into his bland, controlled life. He has never truly been wanted just for who he is not what he has. And she is tough on the outside, but longs to be able to truly trust and give her heart freely. But these two are caught up in a mess of their own making that keeps spiraling out of control in more ways than one.
What is real and what is fake? Is one playing the other? Will someone end up hurt and broken hearted?
This is a fast-paced, feisty, funny enemies-to-lovers story. It brings back their besties, Blaire and Colin from Dirty Exes, and I would recommend reading it first since the plot builds off events in the first one. I loved Isla's traditional yet vibrant Aunt, Goo-Poh. I enjoyed getting the dual points of view. Some of their choices are questionable, but all if fair in love and war. There is a lot going on in this one so be ready for a fast and furious ride.
Rating 5/5
Rachel Van Dyken has yet to disappoint me - actually, I take that back. I don't think it's possible!
This second book in the Liars, Inc series was sooooooo damn good! I finished it in just a couple hours and still want more! Isla and Jessie's past makes for a wondrous fiery relationship that I can't help but sometimes wish I was her receiving all of Jessie's attention and kisses *drools*. The writing was superb making the novel a definite page turner! I really enjoyed Isla's Aunt Goo-Poh - her quirky nature definitely makes her a memorable character and reminds me of some of my relatives. She had me laughing so much! I also was stunned with the huge twist in this book - it added to an already outstanding novel and again Rachel did not disappoint!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!
Hilarious rom-com, but sweet and sexy as well. I was looking forward to this book after reading Dirty Exes. I freaking loved Goo-Poh and the hilarity she brought to the story with all her traditions and superstitions. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something funny as well as super hot!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Dangerous Exes. If you have read the first book, Dirty Exes, then you have already met our protaganists Jessie and Isla (and let me say I love that the name Isla is used!)
I loved this book from the first word to the last. I am a sucker for a frenemies-to-lovers story, and Jessie and Isla's was a great one.
I love the snark and the banter between them, all the while they are ignoring their lust and more for each other.
Oh boy do this pair get themselves into one kind of trouble after another! Just when you think things are going to go right for them - boom, another dilemma falls at their feet. And you know that things are going to go bad for them at some stage as events are revealed. However I liked that they didn't act like 12 year old
I couldn't help but cheer for them as they are falling. You just know that their relationship is never going to be boring, and that sparks are always going to be flying.
I loved getting more of Colin and Blaire (from Dirty Exes) and adore where their relationship is now at.
I can't wait to see what Ms Van Dyken brings us next.
Dangerous Exes is a romcom & Book 2 in the series by Rachel Van Dyken. I have always been a fan of her books.
The characters are like-able and there are many fun moments. Her Goo-Poh was hysterical and you never knew what she would say or do next.
The book was enjoyable & I was rooting for a HEA. Dangerous Exes is a light, quick read.
This book was fabulous! Brought out all the feels and tears but then on the other hand so funny I seriously snort laughed (one word Goo-Poh). It was nice to read a book and see a man and all of his vulnerabilities and the one person Jessie would share this with. I loved watching Isla learn to trust again and find real love. I totally recommend this book.
I FLOVED this book! I absolutely fell in love with Jessie and Isla. This was an hate to love type read. It was a fun and easy flowing rom com. One of my favorite rom coms yet, made me smile and laugh like crazy. I loved Goo-poh, she was awesome and of course the chickens. I definitely recommend Dangerous Exes!
Dangerous Exes is the second book in the Liars Inc series by Rachel Van Dyken and I have been dying to know how things would turn out for Jessie and Isla since the end of the first book!
Isla was hurt bad by love, she was used and cheated on, and when her ex was done with her she was left with absolutely nothing. After picking herself up and working her ass off to get herself back, her company Liars Inc is her everything.
Liars Inc, is one of the main reasons was ex football player Jessie Beckett has lost his reputation as an upstanding human being. His ex-wife hired them to expose him as a cheater when it was her who was unfaithful. The fallout of the whole thing left his reputation in ruins, and he wants payback. He wants to ruin the company and the woman he blames for ruining his life. It may have been far from perfect but what good there was, like his charity work, has been taken from him.
Ilsa is good at fixing things, and she comes up with the perfect solution to fix Jessie's reputation and save her company. They just need to convince everyone that they are madly in love without trying to kill eachother in the process. The lines in their fake relationship start to feel real as they learn more about eachother, and they give into their building sexual chemistry. In the end will it all be for nothing and will they lose their hearts in the process?
Dangerous Exes is full of angst, anger, sexual tension and some hot as f*ck sex scenes. I loved the constant bickering between Jessie and Ilsa. It kept the story interesting and fun. This is a fast paced romance about learning to trust and step out of your comfort zone. You just might like the extra pop of color in your life 😉
This book was so much fun! More than half of the characters are kind of crazy so they make it interesting. Isla and Jessie are not trusting of the other sex. Their exes could be considered the equivalent of Satan so it is understandable when all they want to do from the beginning of the story is make each other's lives difficult. They are both full of hurt and anger. Both control freaks and both very different in what they like. But she literary brings color into his life. She shows him how valuable he is as a man and caretaker. And he shows her that she is perfection even with her quirky ways. This book shows you there is a perfect match for everyone and that sometimes it's the person you least expect. A person that will change you for the better and that will adjust their lives to make space for you.
I liked Dangerous Exes a lot more than Dirty Exes. There was something about Jessie that made me like him more than Colin in Dirty Exes, even if he came off bad a lot. I just wanted to root for him and for him to be happy. He may have been quite miserable and not always the smartest, but he finally gets the happiness he deserves in this book. Isla opens his eyes to the color of the world and makes him see there's more than a black and white life. They're both hilarious and stubborn. They have an interesting relationship throughout the book, a lot of ups and downs for sure. They may seem like very different people, but they're really quite similar and very fitting for one another. I wish there would have been an epilogue to wrap things up slightly more, but I did enjoy the cute and funny ending.
I enjoyed reading the first book in this series a lot and I couldn't wait to read Isla's story because she was actually my favorite character in book 1 ;) I can honestly say I was NOT disappointed... Isla and Jessie were absolutely wonderful !!
Now Dirty Exes was funny, but I really laughed my ass off with this one... Goo Poh was especially hysterical... If only I could have a great aunt like that !!
After the events in book 1, Jessie is hell bend on having his revenge...and the best revenge would be to take Dirty Exes, PI down, and leave Isla especially, with nothing. This is actually were the story lost half a point for me, because I just couldn't for the life of my understand, why Jessie was more upset with Isla, than with Blaire... Seemed like he just forgave Blaire for everything, and put all of his hate on Isla... I loved Isla, in the first book and in this one, so naturally this made me very very angry with Jessie ;)
No worries though...he makes up for it ;)
This was a light, funny, sweet and HOT story and it made me feel great !!
