Dangerous Exes is an enemies to lovers story. Jessie feels he has been burned by Isla and Isla feels like she is being blamed for something that wasn't her fault.
These two start out breathing fire down each others necks but that doesn't hold up to the attraction they had been building before everything fell apart.
I'm not sure this can be a standalone. This book started right back up where book 1 left off. We have the same characters, just a shift in main characters.
We do get the added bonus of a new side character and very funny Goo-Poh, Isla's aunt. She had me laughing just as much as our main couple.
This was a fun series and I recommend both books is you want a laugh! ARC provided by NetGalley.

I seriously think there isn't a book that Rachel Van Dyken can write that won't be a 5 star read!
We watched Jessie crumble when Blaire fell in love with his best friend Colin and he was hurt and livid that his ex had leaked things to the press about him. Jessie is detirmened to take down the place it all started and that place just happens to be Dirty Exes.
Isla and Blaire try to prove to Jessie that they had no intentions on destroying him and to prove it Isla comes up with a full proof plan. This book is hillarisy funny and will have you laughing so hard at the meddling Goo-Pooh which is another grandma Nadine to me!
I loved this book it has me in stitches and as I read I could picture everything that was beging described! I can't wait to see what she comes out with next!

This book was such a fun read! I had such a great time living in Jessie & Isla's world. I could not have been more pleased with the continuation of Liars, inc.
Isla and Jessie are now mortal enemies. In his eyes she ruined him and it's time to exact revenge. No matter the cost he will ruin her, break her, or will he really when they collide and they become explosive but not in the ruination way he had planned.
Isla is sick and tired of stalker Jessie Beckett trying to oust her and her business. He really needs to get a grip on reality and back off. But sometimes all it takes is one little kiss and a viral media storm. Sometimes the only way out of a mess is to create a diversion. Well now get Blaire involved and the diversion is blown way over the top then throw in Goo-Poh and the antics are out of this world hilarious!!
Ok I have to say this GOO-POH!!! The best side character ever!!!! The antics of this woman was epic and had me laughing so much. I absolutely loved her.
5 Chicken Cluck, Cluck stars

I received a copy of DANGEROUS EXES on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.
Five stars and here's why:
DANGEROUS EXES is hilarious. No joke. I laughed. I snorted. Rachel Van Dyke entertains her readers. Seriously.
I love the premise in the Liars, Inc. series. You don’t have to read the first book to enjoy the second book, but you’ll want to just for the sheer entertainment.
Isla is a co-owner in a spy business that focuses on you guessed it – Dirty and Dangerous Exes! She is such a fun and entertaining character to read because she is orderly and has to have things just so. Jessie is the frenemy who gets under her skin and suddenly, the hella-sexy banter and off the charts chemistry means sparks fly, words fly, and I’m left fanning myself like a crazy woman.
If you love sexy guys, savvy girls, and a hella-hot romance, then this book is for you! Highly recommend!

Rachel Van Dyken has written another hit. I love her books ever since The Matchmaker's Playbook books. I loved them and I wish she would so more of them, but this might be a runner-up for my next favorite of hers.

I haven't read book 1 in this series, Dirty Exes ...but I'm going to now! I sort of felt like I missed out but it didnt stop me loving this.
Isla works for Dirty Exes who have made it their mission to discover cheating in relationships, for money of course! I must admit, the thought of a company like this made me silently cheer! I don't know if something like this exists in the real world but I'd love to have an insight (#nosey) but sometimes working for such a place has it's down moments it seems.....revenge!
Enter Jessie. And he wants payback!
What a fab read, there was drama, funny times (Isla's aunt!) and sexy times (love those bits!)
This story goes to show that sometimes you can forgive and move on, it was beautiful!

“Accept his blessing!” I laughed out loud several times reading this book and loved every single word. If you read the first book Dirty Exes and loved it then you will love this book too!

Goo-Poh!!! LOL!!!!! One of the best characters of this book LOL!!!! When you read the book, you will understand. But off to my review......Isla and Jessie are both in tight spots and in order to fix said tight spots they agree to be in a fake relationship with each other. Through twists and turns, this couple have a very interesting time of it and we also see Blair and Colin from book 1, Dirty Exes. I was laughing so hard I cried. This rom-com has all the laughs and feels needed if you want or need to get out of your head for a while. I highly recommend Ms. Van Dyken and her books. I will most definitely be reading more of her.

"I would justify every damn thing in the world for another taste of you."
God. Yes. This is the follow-up to Dirty Exes. If you haven't read Dirty Exes and you don't want to know who this book is about, I suggest you turn away. Turn away now.
But if you also know that RVD is going to give you a story you'll love and you don't care who this book is about because you just want all the words ever, then continue.
We left Dirty Exes with a disgruntled Jessie. His world has fallen apart all because of his ex. Or did it fall apart because of Isla?
Who knows.
What Jessie does know is that he is going to take Isla down so she can feel the way he feels.
And that's how you get this friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story that will have your heart beating fast and your eyes devouring words at a top rate speed.
Isla and Jessie are filled with tension. Sexual tension, to be specific. Yeah, sure, they're also a bit high strung and they like things to go according to plan, but the sexual tension between these two is palpable. I could feel it on my skin. I could smell it in the air around me. I wanted these two together more than I wanted my next breath.
And it's so freaking good. So. Good.
"I don't want to hold your heart...I don't even want to own it. I just want you to share it with me."

Great story with some seriously funny moments. The characters in this story are so real, and the story was fantastic. The pacing was perfect, and there was never a dull moment. I was up all night reading because I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

I absolutely loved Dirty Exes and so I was very excited about my ARC of this book. The synopsis sounded like the book was going to be right up my alley and I was looking forward to getting to know Isla and Jessie a little better. So it’s safe to say that I had very high expectations for Dangerous Exes but thankfully, Rachel Van Dyken didn’t disappoint.
This book was such an entertaining read and an absolute page turner. I loved Isla and Jessie just as much as I hoped I would and it was also so much fun to see how Blaire and Colin’s relationship continued after the first book. But I still have to say that this book just wasn’t as good as Dirty Exes. While there was a bigger plot twist in the last quarter of the book that I didn’t really see coming, there were also a few scenes that were quite boring and dragged on a bit. Furthermore, Isla had a great-aunt – Goo-Poh – who generally was a very cute and lovely character but especially towards the end of the book, I think she was a little too much sometimes and if she was my great-aunt, she’d probably freak me out a little.
So all in all, even though I didn’t like Dangerous Exes as much as Dirty Exes, I still thought it was a great book and after seeing that I’d rated the first book 5 stars, I decided to give this one 4 stars. While reading the book I also once again noticed how much I’m always enjoying Rachel Van Dyken’s writing and I’ll definitely try to still read some of her older books before the end of the year.
By the way, if you’re wondering if you necessarily have to read the first book before reading Dangerous Exes, I can assure you that both books can definitely be read as standalones.

Rachel Van Dyken is the queen of enemies to lovers story written in a tongue-in-cheek style. If you haven't read Dirty Exes (the first book in this duet) then stop right now and go back and start there. This is a story of what results from an investigation into a cheating husband (who wasn't cheating at all) and the vengeance his ex-wife will cause for losing,
Isla, the owner of Dirty Exes an Investigation Agency is the target of Jessie, the accused ex-husband whose reputation was ruined (not by the agency but by his ex-wife. He is determined to ruin Isla and her agency. The situation is made worse by the fact that their best friends found love during the investigation.
The solution to their problem is to pretend to be engaged. But these two are opposites. He is a buttoned up control freak whose idea of colors is white, black and grey. She loves colors but is addicted to lists, notes and highlighters. The clash of personalities is heightened by the sexual attraction they try to resist.
Throw in a crazy Chinese aunt who is insisting on marriage and grandbabies and you have a delightful, delicious dessert of a story that keeps you hanging and wanting more in a way that only Rachel Van Dyken can do.
I received a free advanced copy of this book.

Bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken delivers another beautiful and heart warming romance, "Dangerous Exes". It is full of small yet powerful emotional moments those gave me goose bumps literally. the book is an almost enemy-to-lover Romance. Jessie and Isla have become "enemies" by some unfortunate misunderstandings. Their so called hatred and bitterness gradually turn into deepest attraction. Of course we have the amazing, adorable, nosy as hell and total bad ass Goo-poh (Isla's aunt) staging a lot of "divine interventions"
Jessie is hot, sexy, a bit of control freak but he is so caring and charming! Isla can't be any more mismatched. She brings the riot of colors in Jessie's life with her sexy and sassy personality. I sometimes miss the simple old-world love story feelings in today's Romance. But not this one. I loved how the author slowly built up the relations and took us through each step. the smoldering heat becomes a blazing inferno in her masterful hand. The book has brilliant humor. some parts are just too hilarious and my face is hurting from all the smiles. Goo-poh is a legend to me. My absolutely favorite and an unforgettable character this year.
"Dangerous Exes" is a bliss for the day when you feel heavy and need escape just to feel better. It is just a wonderful gift that will lit up your cloudy heart. Rachel Van Dyken's story will make you glow with happiness and contentment.

I went into this without reading book 1 (my fault) so I was a little behind on the characters.
First off, enemies to lovers is my favorite trope and it only gets better when they were friends first. So of course I was really excited by this book.
Unfortunately, it just fell flat for me. I get really tired of the same story of two hot people just wanting to bone each other all the time. And while there is some definite depth to both of these characters, they lacked in emotional moments because they were over shrouded by the sexual tension. I love sexual tension but without much emotional depth to back it up it just bores me.
I did like how the characters were fairly broken. We see Isla with her issues stemming from her ex and her tearful eyes, and we see Jessie deal with mild OCD. So those were interesting.
I did not like how violent Isla was though. The aggression was a bit much and while her ex deserved to be punched in the face it felt weird reading that bit.
Overall the book was okay but I just wanted more depth.

Absolutely LOVE Jessie and Isla. This book is hilarious with the insertion of Isla's Aunt Betsy. And this is definitely one of the hottest reads from Rachel!
Jessie is hell-bent on running Isla's company into the ground... since she was instrumental in ruining his life when she took on his ex-wife as a client. Who cares if it was really Vanessa who made his life miserable... if Isla hadn't helped her in any way, maybe he wouldn't be in the predicament he's in now.
What he never expected was to actually like her...like LIKE her.
Isla will do ANYTHING to save her business. Even if that includes hanging out with her mortal enemy.
These two find themselves in even more trouble when the press thinks the two are dating!
Such a fun book!

Dangerous Exes, by Rachel Van Dyken, is the second book in the Liars, Inc. series. As always, RVD did not disappoint me, I read the first book in this series and loved it. I would suggest that you read the first book in this series to fully enjoy Dangerous Exes, but it is not a must. RVD does a great job bringing the new reader to this series up to speed. Her writing style is hip and entertaining and her characters are delightful and amusing.
Jessie and Isla were introduced to us in the first book and I was so thrilled to read their story. There was so much going on in this book, it kept me turning the pages as quickly as I could read them. Jessie feels he had been wronged by Elsa and is trying his best to exact revenge against her for the tiniest mistake she unwittingly made. He really is a good guy and soo hot, but his ex-wife really did a number on him, which caused him to be suspicious of women. I immediately fell in love with Isla, adorable, funny and a real fighter. I loved the peculiarities that each of them brought to the relationship, but somehow that made both of them more endearing. And lets not for get the total combustible attraction….they are HOT together. I will never look at a polish sausage or a baseball bat the same way. And let's not leave out Goo-Poh, she kept me laughing throughout the whole book. Everyone needs a Goo-Poh!
So if you are looking for a book that will make you laugh one moment and the next moment fanning yourself look no further, you have found your next read. I wholeheartedly recommend this book. Happy reading.
***I kindly received an ARC of this book by way of NetGalley/publisher/author. I was not contacted, asked or required to leave a review in order to read this book. I received no compensation, financial or otherwise. This is my honest review.***

I loved the story. The characters were strong and the book is well written. I give it 4.5 stars and a strong recommendation!

Whats not to love about a book where the PI’s get down and dirty???!!
This book had me hooked from beginning to end and I laughed so much!! Some parts had me snort laughing, so ridiculous to read but entertaining as hell!
Blaire and Isla run Dirty exes PI company! What they experience and learn about their job is downright funny at times! They are rather clever in how they operate but when Isla is stalked by an ex client so to speak, things are definitely heating up!i absolutely loved her Aunt! She was an absolute hoot and the words that came out of her mouth ‘ absolute gold’ !!
Then of course there is Colin, his mouth was just too genius at times! You cant help but love him.
Jessie certainly endears himself and the tea situation is downright hilarious!!! Is he hiding something big?? Is he who you think he is??
Where/How the author comes up with the characters that stick in your mind, shows shes got creative talent indeed!
Such a great book that has drama galore, super sizzling tension and friendships abound!
I dare you to read it for yourself!!! You won’t be sorry at all!
Tea, Goo-Poh, chickens, dragons, Colin and crew!!! Just brilliant!

I couldn't put this book down! I loved Jessie and Isla's banter and Goo Poh is one of my new favorite characters. This book was hilarious and I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun romantic read. It can be read as a standalone, but the first book, Dirty Exes, was amazing as well.

Dangerous Exes can be read without reading the first in the series. I love learning Jessie and Isla’s story. Dirty Exes agency was developed by Isla and Blaire to expose cheating exes. This story gives a bigger look at why it was started. It’s riveting, and I didn’t want to put it down. I love how Rachel Van Dyken captures her characters and brings you into their world.
