This is part of a re-release with Carina Press of a series published by Lauren Dane in the late 2000s. Set in Petal, Georgia, I hadn't read the series before (but loved other stories by the author, in particular her Ink and Chrome romances) so I decided to pick up this one and see how her earlier works compare with her later ones.
Chased is the story of Marc Chase, the youngest of the Chase brothers and his friendship with Liv Davis. Marc is just getting off the ground with his business as a personal trainer while Liv is the mayor's assistant. Liv is a few years older than Marc but has been friends with him and his family since dating his brother Matt, a relationship that was painful when it ended even though the couple realized they weren't suited to each other. Marc has a playboy reputation and hasn't been interested in commitment, while Liv is ready for marriage and kids. Can these two opposites find common ground?
I enjoyed this glimpse of life in Petal and the family and friendships that make up this series! The Chase family is warm and loving and generous, as are the women who've been brought into the family via partnering with the Chase brothers. Liv is friends with all of them, even her ex Matt, and the author doesn't make a big deal of the fact that Liv is now interested in a different Chase brother. There is no awkwardness between Matt and Marc which was good to see.
Liv and Marc have issues to overcome on their way to a happy ending. Since Liv's last relationship ended when she discovered him cheating on her (not Marc, who was the boyfriend before her last one), she's hesitant to get romantically involved with someone like Marc who has a reputation for only looking for a good time. There are no complaints from the women he's been with (quite the contrary) and he's well liked and friendly. Because he works with a lot of women in his job as a personal trainer, Liv has to deal with jealous feelings and learn to trust him. Marc is a hero in pursuit (my favorite) and is able to show Liv that he's serious about making things last with her. Several sexy scenes and some emotional conversations cement their feelings for each other and lead to a satisfying happy ending. The scenes with the family and Liv's female friends are just as enjoyable as the romance. In comparison to her newer stuff, this does seems simpler in terms of plot and writing style, so the author's writing has evolved and gotten better at deep point of view. I'm looking forward to catching up on the series!

Marc is the youngest of the Chase brothers and the most impetuous. But when he realized that the one he wants is right in front of him? Determined just doesn't describe his actions. Bold, brash and sexy, he will win your heart.
***Friends to lovers story, previously published
I just had a stimulating and wonderful visit to Petal, Georgia where I met the strong and captivating characters, Marc and Liv where they easily drew me into their rocky and heartfelt romance.
Marc and Liv’s relationship is certainly not typical because Liv has just about given up on a happily ever after and because of her emotional issues keeps sabotaging the relationship that Marc is trying to build between them. The fast to steady paced romance keeps things gripping throughout because the relationship is a bit of a roller coaster ride of on and off again or ups and downs. Because these characters are well developed, readers can easily connect with them and relate to both sides of their story but let me tell you, that there certainly no problem between the sheets of the hot and steamy sexual relationship because their attraction has lots of electrically charged sparks flying from the pages and blazing hot passion to keep things heated. Oh and there are a couple of relationship twists that adds surprise and depth to the story as well as adding a bit of uniqueness to the romance.
Every visit to Petal, Georgia so far has been a wonderful experience and I have really enjoyed getting to know the hot and sexy Chase Brothers so it was no surprise that I enjoyed Marc and Liv’s story. Anyway, I am definitely looking forward to reading Matt’s story, because I really want to know what kind of woman manages to take this brother off the market.
This is book three in this series and it gives us Marc and Liv's story. It is a friends to lovers romance. I love this very entertaining and enjoyable series. Marc is of course an awesome hero. Liv is likable but I can't say she was my favorite heroine of the series. I could understand her trust issues but at times she was extremely unreasonable and almost shrewish. The secondary characters are wonderful and add so much to this book and series. Momma Chase is a genuine hoot! This is a entertaining read that has a engaging plot. It is well written and keeps your interest well. Can't wait for book four!
You know that moment when you are enjoying a great story... It is steamy, actually sizzling hot and you are afraid it will actually melt your kindle. It is entertaining, you like the characters, it is sweet, adorable, and even cute at times, and you're just enjoying the ride. And suddenly the speed bump comes and the emotions hit the high road, and instead of smiling and chuckling away you are weeping, and you feel the pain, you feel the confusion, the outrage, the fear, the utter panic, the need to stay the same and while wanting things to chance... Man, color me impressed, because I was not prepared for the emotional onslaught I got towards the second part of the tale when things get real, get genuinely emotional, and there is no escaping or ignoring the work ahead for Marc and Liv and their relationship.
The stories of the Chase Brothers is a rerelease but new to me. I missed the first one, but the two I have read so far has been the perfect mix of meddling family, friends for life, small town living, romances that sweep you off your feet, and the deep emotions that make you remember the stories long afterward. I have been swooning on every second page because when the Chase brothers fall, they fall hard, they fall completely, they are 'besotted', and they go after what they want with the determination rarely seen, but none with the perseverance like Marc Chase when he figures out the one for him is Liv Davis.
The relationship developing between Marc and Liv is not easy and the story captures about a year of their lives as they work on their issues while falling hard and deep for each other.
I loved the honesty between all the characters, there were moments that were even a bit awkward because of the brutal honesty every single main character of the story had while fighting for their happiness and trying to clear path for it. The fact that Matt had dated Liv in the past had me a bit nervous at the beginning, as well as the dating Liv did after her and Marc's attraction flamed. But both of these matters were an intricate part of the character development that needed to happen for Matt, Marc, and Liv, for the tale of the brothers continues.
Despite all the differences Liv tried to see in her and Marc, they are so amazingly perfect together, physically and sexually, umm... YES! But also as friends, partners, companions, and mates.
The last part of the story flooded me with emotions, took me for a ride that I will not forget. Liv and Marc have to go through the ringer to be able to figure out their relationship because even the issues they are fighting against are not what they thought they were.
Blissfully entertaining, sweetly ardent, and emotionally wrecking tale that left me with a teary smile and satisfied sigh of a great love story

I received an ARC for Chased as it is being rereleased. I honestly didn’t notice any changes in the story from the original, so I’m pretty sure it was just some grammar errors that were changed, but is has been over 4 years since I read it. I enjoyed Chased the first time around, and I enjoyed it again. Marc is the youngest Chase brother, and Liv a friend of the family. Chased was a cute small town romance, that manages to tug on your emotional strings. It does move at a quick pace in some places where there are time jumps of a week or more that could of transitioned better, as is those parts do seem rushed. Over all a good read, and if you are a fan of small town romance, then Chased is for you.

Ok so this is the first of the Chase brothers books I've read but it can be read as a stand alone. I gave it five stars because the writing and story were good, there was great build up, and it totally held my interest. Now, on to vent about something that doesn't affect my rating of how good this is- Liv.
Man, that woman was hard to like. She was really bugging me because she like ignored everything but what she thought was the truth about Marc. Ignored his actions and what everyone else said. And when that wasn't enough, she went on dating other guys! I mean eventually I warmed up to her and began to understand her thinking, but poor Marc really had to be dedicated to tearing down her walls. Also, she used to date his brother but it's no big deal? OK.
Anywho, I liked this and am intrigued by the brothers and ready to start the next book.
Liv was being picked up by her friend Cassie and Maggie to go to Polly and Edwards fortieth wedding anniversary party. Liv had been crying and told her friends Brody had cheated on her with Lyndsay Cole, Liv had walked in on them in Brody’s apartment as she had got off work early and had brought brody some dinner. All Liv wanted was someone she could trust someone she could come home to at the end of the day and share her life with. She wanted to be in love, and get married and have kids not tomorrow but someday. Marc claimed a dance with Liv at his parents party and he thought about how good it felt to have her body next to his. Marc had wanted to kiss liv pretty badly but his father cut in. Marc did kiss Liv at the Founder Day’s picnic even if she was there on a a date with another man.Liv told Marc she wanted someone who was looking for toward marriage and permanency. Marc dated everyone he could think of for the next month but none of them got Liv out of his thoughts finally Marc called Liv. No man had ever made Liv speechless but Marc did and he pushed every button and Liv wasn’t sure why or how. Marc had set out to woo her and he was.
I loved this book, it was a quick fun romantic read. I now have a new romantic read to put in my favorites group. I loved how sweet Liv was and I loved her and Marc together. I also loved how Marc’s family had already accepted and loved Liv when she had dated Marc’s older brother Matt but it hadn’t worked Matt hadn’t been ready to settle down but the remained the best of friends. When Matt saw Marc really wanted a long term relationship with Liv he was all for it. I felt so bad when Liv saw Marc with his ex. I felt like I was there with everyone and that is special when an author can transport you inside her story. I loved how Marc showed up in Atlanta and made Liv agree to spend two days and face herself and he also faced himself and were totally honest with each other and opened to each other. Just an overall great book and I happily I could happily find nothing to criticize. I love the characters and the ins and outs and I highly recommend.
Beautiful, intelligent, scared Liz wants to settle down and have a family but she's afraid to let herself truly love because everyone she loves leaves. Sexy as sin, flirtatious business owner Marc knows what he wants and will do anything to get her. This story show that even if a person looks like their life is great doesn't mean they don't have fears and heartache. It will teach you that true love can conquer any thing. I loved every aspect of this story even though I'm reading the series backwards lol. Can be read as a standalone.
Liv has pretty much given up on finding Mr Right. When she catches her boyfriend in bed with another women that's it. Marc has been a good friend to Liv but she's never seen him as anything but a friend really. He's almost 6 years younger than her and seemingly bags every babe in around. Should that be enough of a deterrent for her? Marc means to show her he's not that guy anymore. He's not sure if marriage and babies is his end game but he knows he's serious about her. I think you can probably manage this book ok without reading the first two books in the series but you'll be much better off if you do read them. It feels like it picks up in the middle of something and that I missed something. Stumbling around in the dark a bit it didn't take long to figure out who all the characters in this book went with. Marc is 6 years younger than Liv. She uses that and her past experience with men and her family issues to hold him at bay. Marc slowly gets in there though. I enjoyed the story and the entire Chase family.

This is a reprint of a previously published book.I had read it years ago. It is still a good read, but I hate it when it does not clearly state that it was previously published.;

4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Chase Brothers are back and continue to capture your attention. This time Marc is the one who will throw caution to the wind and take a chance on the one person he shouldn’t, Liv. Lauren Dane takes us back to the small town charm of Petal and once again pulls you in. Marc Chase is known as the ladies man and the one who wont ever settle down, but can Liv change all that? And Liv doesn’t know if she can get over not only Marc’s reputation, and that he is Matt’s brother, but can she trust that he has changed his ways? They will have some road bumps along the way, but if they are able to trust one another they just might have a chance at a future together.
I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
At 34, Olivia Davis wants her Mister Right house, the picket fence and children, as her best friends have found. However, except for her BFF since kindergarten, Maggie, everyone has left her. She walked in on her last boyfriend with another woman. But now that Brody is out of the picture, Marc, the youngest Chase brother, younger brother of Maggie's husband and Olivia's previous boyfriend Matt, is showing interest in her. But she is hung up on his being 6 years younger and his reputation of being a flirt, with no interest of losing his bachelor status. Meanwhile, Marc has opened his own gym and realizes that he wants to make more changes in his life, and that he loves Liv and wants to make her his wife. But he will have to do some serious wooing to overcome Liv's self doubts and convince her that he is her Mister Forever.
I read Giving Chase so many years ago that I don't remember what troubles had happened to Maggie and Olivia, so read the book as a stand alone, but with enough references to the secondary characters it works. The characters are adeptly developed and the conflicts quite real and relatable, with some steamy scenes expertly written.
I enjoyed Chased by Lauren Dane. It was very hot and a quick read. The family component was good, and the characters and their histories were well developed. I would definitely be open to reading more by Lauren Dane!
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars - I love the Chase brothers and their wonderful family. On the surface, dating your exes brother is a little sorted but Lauren Dane, doing what she does best makes everything work well and feel right. It’s a great love story. I recommend it.
Thanks to the publisher for a copy to read and give my honest opinion.
The author is rereleasing these titles, and they are swoon worthy! Love this series, and covers...but the blurbs are what caught my eye.
Marc Chase is the youngest of the four Chase brothers in this fun and smexy series. Once a Chase brother falls.... its HEA all the way.
Olivia already had a relationship with the older Chase brother, and it didn't work out. A broken heart and other bad luck men bring her full circle to refuse the younger Chase brother. He's a flirt and a man whore.
I loved this one... Marc is a flirt but it really makes a difference when he turns on the charm when it comes to wooing Liv. Four hot stars of entertainment! This is a great and fun loving series!
Hot cover alert!
Another superb book by Ms. Dane. She never fails to write good stories. I liked the plot as well as the characters. Excellent overall.
I´m a fan of Lauren Dane´s books and they are always a fun reading.
Liv and Matt´s story hits a little to close to home because as a older woman I can relate to Liv´s feelings, its always hard to not let the society expectations to influence your choices, specially in this situation where we are trained to think poorly of a woman in this situation.
Matt is a sweet guy. I just wish he existed in real life, actually I wish all the Chase men existed in real life. The world be such a better place. *insert happy sigh here*
This is an updated reissue of a previously published book. It's a great fun story and one you should read if you missed it previously.
Marc may be the youngest of the Chase Brothers but he's the one with the biggest reputation as a player. Marc makes no apologies. He's young and free and plans on staying that way for a long time. That is until one kiss with Liv Davis changes everything. Now he has to make her see that not only does the six year age difference mean nothing but he's ready to change his ways. Is he up to the challenge and ready to put in the work it's going to take?
I highly recommend this one.
