I love this series. This is book 10 in the Magical Cats Mystery series. It can be read as a stand alone but you'll want to read them all. Kathleen is the town librarian and her cats Hercules and Owen are being photoed for a calendar to raise money. These magical cats have a habit of getting into trouble and when they are at the beach for a photo shoot they lead the photographer to a dead body. Kathleen is friends with the victim and can't imagine anyone would want to kill her and is soon embroiled in the investigation to the dismay of her boyfriend. This is a great cozy mystery and the cats are such a wonderful part of the story. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I've read most of the books in Sofie Kelly's Magical Cat series and they continue to deliver just what I want in a cozy mystery: small town charm, a heroine you are rooting for, an entertaining mystery, and lots of delightful side characters. The Cats Came Back was a perfect vacation read in that it was light, fun, and had me wanting to read the next instalment. I do hope that the next book delves a little more into Kathleen and Marcus's relationship and I am interested to see if, and who, she tells her cat's secret to.

Great cozy mystery series! This is the 10th book in the Magical Cat Series. This story follows the adventures of Kathleen and her magical cats Hercules and Owen. The trio get roped in to helping solve the mysterious death of a friend of a friend in a small town in Minnesota. This is the first of the series that I've read and I really enjoyed it. I would love to go back and catch up on the series. Highly recommended!

Another winner in the Magical Cats series. Librarian Kathleen is struggling with what and when to tell her significant other, police detective Marcus, about her cats' strange abilities. It was time, but before she could have the conversation another murder happened in the small town they call home. This time, a visiting singer who there to perform in a festival is found murdered by one of Kathleen's friends while photographing the cats for a town calendar. Once again embroiled in the mystery, trying to keep everyone she loves safe, Kathleen and her magical cats are placed in danger. Filled with several plot twists, bursts of humor, and moments to take your breath away this another winner.

There is music and wedding plans in the air in Mayville Heights, Minnesota. Head librarian, Kathleen Paulson, finds herself in the center of it all. Kathleen hopes to listen to beautiful music at the festival and continue to help a dear friend plan for her long-awaited wedding, but things don’t go quite as smoothly as planned.

Kathleen, along with her two cats, Hercules and Owen, discover a dead body by the river. To make matters worse, Kathleen knows the victim. She is a singer scheduled to perform at the music festival. It’s not long before Kathleen realizes it’s not her friend. Instead, it’s a look-alike which brings up the question of whether the singer had been the original target of the killer.

In respect to her detective boyfriend, Kathleen vows not to get involved in the investigation, but we all know how vows like that go. Kathleen and her cats are right in the middle of things. Did I mention that her cats have magical powers? One disappears and the other walks through walls. Kathleen definitely has her hands full with these two.

I love, love, love this series. Cat cozies were always a particular favorite of mine and this is a long-running one. This particular book is #10. I’ve read all except one, which I plan to get to, and have loved them all.

A word about the magical abilities of the cats, it’s very subtle and only Kathleen knows about it. The cats don’t talk in human language and don’t perform tricks or anything like that. Kathleen does have full length conversations with them, but I do that with my cats and they have no magical abilities that I know of :) The cats respond, not by human talking, but by doing cat things like meowing and kneading. Somehow, this all seems natural to me. LOL

The storyline sends readers in several different directions. I was surprised at how it was all wrapped up.

It’s fun for me to re-visit a cozy town where I know all the characters, but I think new readers would enjoy it as well. The author gives plenty of background information throughout the book.

This was another quick read for me and left me wanting more.

I have read the early Magical Cats but have missed a few in between as I was off cozies for a while. But it was like greeting old friends again picking up this book. A delightful addition to the series.

I love this series! Love Owen and Hercules, and I enjoy the relationship between Kathleen and Marcus. As Kathleen's two cats have magical abilities (turns invisible and walks through walls) I'm waiting to see what Marcus' cat's ability is and when is Kathleen going to tell Marcus about her cats? The town folk talk to Owen & Hercules like the cats can understand them and everyone accepts this as normal. The two cats help Kathleen solve the murders that happen in their town. A great series in the Cat Cozy Mystery genre.

I have read all the books in this series except two, and was excited to have the opportunity to get this book as an ARC from NetGalley. Kathleen Paulson, library director, and her very special cats, Owen and Hercules, are the main characters. The town is hosting a music festival and Kathleen and her friend Ruby find a murdered friend of one of the musicians by the river as Ruby is photographing the cats for a publicity calendar. Kathleen and her boyfriend and detective Marcus try to find the murderer and decide if the girl was mistaken for her best friend Emme or was herself a victim of murder. Along with this story line, Kathleen's friend Roma is getting married, and she and her friend Maggie host a shower and participate in the wedding. Anyone who likes stories about cats and libraries will especially love this series.

Another light, fun mystery. Hard to believe it's the tenth in the series already. The mystery isn't all that puzzling, but it's always good to spend time with librarian Kathleen and her two cats, Owen and Hercules.

There's a music festival going on in Mayville Heights. When Hercules finds another body, Kathleen is persuaded to look into it. The deceased is the cousin and look-alike of one of the singers; the question then becomes who was the intended victim.

Kathleen is the head librarian in a small town in Minnesota, and many of the town’s residents are involved in planning a music festival. But when there is a murder, several people ask Kathleen to look into it, since she and her cats Owen and Hercules have helped successfully with investigations in the past. This series is always relaxing to read—the characters are interesting and pleasant, the magical cats are fun and intriguing, and the plot has enough twists and turns to keep the reader’s interest.
