Jody Cohan-French has put together a very clear and accessible guide to writing college essays. The book is well organized and gives both the reasons to put time and effort into essays, but clear instructions on how to do that. College essay writing is daunting, but each chapter gives students something to focus on in the revision process in order to further refine their essays. The examples given throughout, as well as the full essays that are in the appendix, were varied and helpful. My only critique is that a few of the chapters seems a bit redundant or at least not clearly delineated from each other, giving the feeling that there could have been just a few less chapters/steps. But, overall, very thorough and helpful.
