Thanks for the opportunity to read this wonderful book! I will for sure recommend it to as many people as possible as it is very useful!
***3.5 STARS** Overall I liked the book; I particularly enjoyed that Will Shelton listed statistics and discussed current developments for most of the chapters' topics. However, I do feel that at times the book went slightly off topic. I liked that he included recommendations, such as the list of recommended of soul food cookbooks and that he included some websites. Particularly interesting was the part on the balance of omega-3 vs omega-6 required for optimal body function and its connection to inflammation in the body, as well as cholesterol. I also really enjoyed the chapter on sleep and the research reviewed on sleep deprivation. I tried out Shelton's recipe for Couscous With Vegetables, which was nice.

This book was sometime help but other times it would just go on about things I either didn't agree with or thought had nothing to do with health. The author has some great tips though and I learned a couple things I didn't know before.
I didn't like all the references to all the movies, songs, and games. He went on for five pages aboit games kids play and I didn't see how that helps me with my health.
There were also a lot of random stuff that didn't make sense and I don't think was necessary.
It was kind of fifty/fifty for me.
