I did like this book and I did like Harrison and Nicole together. The story was decent but it was a little rushed.
I recommend it but it isn't something I would be reading again in the future.

this was a super cute and super quick read. i've read two other books by this author - the two winning the billionaire books - and i loved the first one, liked the second. i probably felt the same about this one as i did the second, it was enjoyable, i laughed, but it wasn't amazing. nothing stands out as being awful, nothing stands out as being fabulous.

i liked harrison and nicole well enough, though i'm not sure i ever got a grasp on why nicole was so hesitant to get into a relationship. yes, it was explained but it felt pretty flimsy, i guess. the whole fake relationship was a bit odd, not really a focus of the story but still there at random times? it was weird. i really liked harrison's family.

i love outlander. i don't know if people who don't like/know nothing about it would enjoy the several mentions of it in this book. didn't bother me.

This was a quick, verra entertaining romantic read. Featuring Nicole, a sassy Polly Anna type heroine, who is looking to find herself after impulsively deciding to buy a one way ticket to Europe. A chance encounter and smoking hot, Good Samaritan kiss with Harrison Troy, a gorgeous hot but cool headed Brit, lands her in a temporary unique situation to live out a life long fantasy.

Surrounded by Harrison’s best friends, eccentric at times family, and nosy but well meaning village pub posse of lads and lasses, Nicole seems to not only fit right in but manages to help fix some of the chaos that hounds Harrison whenever he steps foot in his family’s travel destination castle.

Fans of the Outlander series will surely appreciate the occasional references to that particular series, as well.

With undeniable chemistry, witty back and forth banter, smoking hot, passionate kisses complete with sparks of attraction that can’t be ignored, these two destined to be together love birds dance around each other until nearly 70%. It takes quite awhile for their stubborn heads to reconcile with what their hearts already know, that they are meant to be together.

The writing flowed, and I stayed fully engaged. Kira Archer is definitely an author I hope to read more of in the near future. Her natural, relaxed characterization of this main couple made their romantic connection feel genuine.

Title: Scotland or Bust, Author: Kira Archer, Pages: 220, stand-alone, a couple graphic steamy scenes late in the book, sassy Polly Anne type heroine, good guy hero, no OM/OW drama, no love triangle, no cheating, romance safe.

After dumping her boyfriend and quitting her accounting job, Nicole decides to finally take the trip to Europe her boyfriend had promise her – by herself. She buys a first-class one-way ticket to England and decides that she’s going to get a job and be an independent woman. She is seatmates with Harrison Troy, a stuffed shirt that’s incredibly hot. Nicole’s a talker and Harrison just wants to be left alone but Nic won’t let him be. She even makes out with him upon lift off because she can see how anxiety ridden he is.

When the finally land Harrison finds out his assistant has quit and as he knows that Nicole has no job or place to stay, he offers her the position. She takes the job and they head to his family’s ancestral home. The home will be the first stop in the Outlander “experience” that Harrison has created in order to try to save his family’s dying travel business. He’s a billionaire and really wants nothing to do with anything related to “the book and show that must not be named” but he loves his quirky family (despite not wanting to spend all that much time with them).

Because of a bedroom snafu Harrison’s family thinks that Nicole and Harrison are engaged which puts a bit of a strain on things. Nicole’s a wonderful assistant but Harrison can’t seem to keep his hands off her.

I liked most of the characters in the story – the people of the village in the pub were funny, the friends who came to visit Harrison were great, the quirky/crazy family was even charming. I liked Harrison although I thought he was a bit too stuffy, even near the end of the book (although he did loosen up some). Nicole was cute at times but other times she made me nuts. She just bought a one-way ticket but didn’t have anywhere to stay, hardly any money and just thought she’d get an under the table job and work her way around. I guess there are people in the world who would do that, but Nicole didn’t seem the type at all.

The romance itself felt rushed. It seemed as if Harrison and Nicole were just starting to explore their attraction and then boom! they were supposedly madly in love. What? I liked the part where Harrison was professing his love, it was very sweet, but where the heck did it come from? The build-up of the relationship needed a lot more to it then what it was in order for me to believe these two were going to live happily ever after.

There were definitely parts that ha me rolling my eyes but overall I thought it was a cute book.

Loved this book!! As a fan of the Outlander series way before the series started, finding a book that references the characters and their lives was great fun! i also appreciated that there were no just vague references, some books do that then I do not understand what they are referencing so feel lost - but this book made it very clear that the Book that Cannot Be Named was Outlander.

At first, I kind of sympathized with Harrison for having a seat mate on a flight that was a chatterbox, but as you got to know and understand Nicole, it was the best thing to happen to him. He really did start out as a stick in the mud type of person who would not laugh or enjoy life then with Nikki, he started to ease up a bit.

You can certainly understand how hard it was for him growing up with the kind of parents he had that didn't spend time with him and felt he was kind of an afterthought. His family was crazy but Nikki took it in stride and tried to smooth things out so that Harrison was less stressed by their actions.

You really did not need to read previous books as most of Harrison's friends are mentioned and their wives but I did not get the mention of Izzy. Never really understood who she was!

The village pub and the pool on how long Harrison's assistant would last was hilarious! You also saw that softer side of Harrison when he went to Ruby's tea room and Nikki found out what he had done for his old nanny.

This book was kind of on the line of a romcom movie and I would have loved it even if I wasn't an Outlander fan, as they both got the chance to show their love at the airport. Harrison went chasing after Nikki but she also had to go after him so it wasn't one sided at all. Great HEA and interesting how they compromised where the lived.

After reading this, I want to read the other books in the series, and hope that Chris will get his turn for love.

What a fun book to read on a lazy Sunday morning whilst listening to a thunderstorm! Find yourself a comfy spot and curl up to enjoy this fast paced, fun read featuring an extremely positive and adventurous young woman and a staid and handsome Outlander hating English Billionaire.

The book opens with our billionaire Harrison boarding a plane, first class but not private, and finds Nicole his seatmate. Nicole has recently dumped her boyfriend is ready for a life adventure overseas. Only Nicole doesn't have a plan for work or lodging; Harrison finds himself short an assistant. Fate intervenes to keep the seatmates together for the summer. Through crazy family antics and charming English village folk, the two have to deal with their pasts to move forward.

Part of me wants to chastise Nicole for leaving her secure life behind to go on an unplanned adventure; part of me is living vicariously through her. And while I understand the draw to a handsome and rugged man with an accent, I have to question the appeal of a man who doesn't like the Outlander series. Nicole is, as Harrison puts it, “consistently optimistic.” While Harrison starts off a more stereotypical stick-in-the-mud Englishman. Despite their differences the situations they face pull them together. The details provided for both characters make them both endearing and relatable.

“Ever make out with a total stranger, Harry?” Nicole starts the “chemistry” of their relationship off taking Harrison's mind off the plane ride... And the heat only grows by leaps, bounds, and laughter from there. It's a bit of the oldie but goodie, opposites attract. Along with the help of an amazingly loving and eccentric grandmother of course. Their romantic encounters are well written, well timed, and meaningful to the story.

At first Ms. Archer has you believing Harrison is a stuck up and unrelatable Billionaire and you almost don't even want to keep reading to see which bimbo that will fall into his crazy story. Except that Nicole comes in as the endearing girl next door and changes your opinion. Then you meet Harrison's quirky family, and who can help laughing out loud when you read about someone's grandmother running about “with her nibblets and bits waving in the wind?” (try explaining why you are laughing so hard you have tears to your seven year old son on that one!). The well-versed author draws you in with a world of vocab and fast paced plot line.

I had a blast reading this story. It gives hope that optimism, Outlander, and hard work can change your future. And that any man can become a hopeless romantic and Outlander fan. And that no matter one's quirky family, there's someone out there to help you deal with them. May we all be so lucky to find our perfect combination of those things. Love you honey.

book 3 in the winning a billionaire series, scotland or bust, has straightlaced harrison troy finding his match with the free-spirited nicole franklin. they meet-cute on a plane, and from there things just seem to snowball. first she's hired as his temporary assistant. they're accidentally caught in bed together and everyone who walks in on them decides they're engaged.

from there everything spirals. on the one hand nikki is smart and efficient and super good at getting things done, on the other she's flightly and funny and quirky and harrison has been avoiding that his whole life. he's already got enough flight, funny, quirky in his family to last him several lifetimes. but the connection is there. and it's impossible to ignore.

and this is a sweet and funny and sexy story. i loved seeing the characters from previous books in the series, even though this novel functions as a standalone. i almost doubted myself that this was one of the series, because the indulgence line got a makeover and the new covers are pretty drastically different from the earlier ones. this book also had more of a rom-com vibe than the previous two in the series, that felt more like straight category romances. but the tone and the new cover design suit this book well, and it didn't take me that long to figure out it was part of the series.

**scotland or bust will publish on june 11, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (indulgence) in exchange for my honest review.

This book really surprised me! It was funny, cute and sexy! Nicole was a loveable heroine from the start. Her optimism and bubbly attitude shone through the pages throughout the whole book. And while Harrison was her exact opposite, they seamlessly blended together to make the perfect couple. I loved everything about this book...from the crazy grandmother, to the bets in the pubs, to the Outlander element. I could easily see this made into a movie!

This was such a good read! The writing flowed well, and had my attention through the whole thing! It had some hilarious moments, and some heart felt ones. The only thing that knocked it down from 5 stars was how indecisive Nikki was. Harrison and Nikki did have great chemistry when they were together, and I loved that their personalities complimented each other. Harrison was a good guy, even though he was too uptight sometimes. Nikki was a pretty good h, except for the whole flip flopping stuff. Granny was a riot! I loved her, and I thought that she gave Nikki some great advice. The whole town was quaint, and I loved the setting. Although this was the first book from this author that I've read, it won't be my last!

What do you do when you break-up with your boyfriend? For Nicole Franklin, well she goes to Scotland with no job, no money, no plan and no visa. Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer was a funny and sweet read with likeable characters.

Nicole knew there was no future with her ex, so why not head to Scotland? I loved her. She was funny and mostly spoke her mind. Harrison Troy is formal and proper, even if he is surrounded by some crazy and funny family and friends. The last thing he wants on a flight home is to sit next to a woman who talks nonstop, buts somehow now she is working for him.

Nicole and Harrison were opposites, but somehow also complemented each other. When they find themselves pretending to be engaged, they find they may have more in common than they thought. I enjoyed reading Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer and look forward to reding more of her work!

Happy reading!

This book has both cussing and some on-page sex. If those things are going to cause you to leave a bad review, this might not be the book for you. Although this is technically the third book of a series and characters from the other books appear in this one, it can completely stand alone. (But really, you should read the other books because they're so good.)

Although the basis of this book has a lot to do with the Highlander series, I assure you that you DO NOT have to have read or watched that to enjoy this book. I'm entirely unfamiliar with the series but loved this story.

This book is absolutely hilarious. Ms. Archer has a tremendous way with wit and snark that make her books so fun to read, and this book was no exception. Both Harrison and Nicole had hysterical inner-voices and it didn't matter whose point of view we were in, there was something that made me laugh in almost every chapter. There's also a line in the book that I wish I could have highlighted more than once: “There's nothing like a good romantic comedy. Loves, laughs, and a happily ever after. Can't beat it.” Yes! Those things are why I enjoy books written by Kira Archer so much.

While Harrison is a bit of a stick in the mud at times, he's a seriously good guy who just wants to keep his family's travel business from failing and not get caught up in too much drama. Due to his stodginess, seeing Harrison brought to his metaphorical knees by Nicole was absolutely beautiful. Nicole was a fun-loving and free-spirited character whose flightiness had me chuckling from the start. But down deep she was also both highly competent and incredibly romantic person. She's the kind of character I would love to make friends with.

As with all of the book in this series, this book features some really fantastic side-characters. Granny and Austin were two of my favorite 'new' characters; they were absolutely hilarious. And of course, the cameos from the characters from the previous books were a slice of fried gold. Brooks remains one of my favorite characters in any book I've ever read. (The jousting. I was *dying* laughing.)

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed the first two books of this series, or to anyone who enjoys a fun and sexy love story.

This is one of those books that you can totally picture as a movie filled with your favorite stars. It’s full of fun, swoony moments and has no angst. I super enjoyed it. And if you’re a fan of the Book That Must Not Be Named, I can guarantee you’ll enjoy this heart warming tribute to it.

Harrison Troy, billionaire in a start-up trying to get to Mars (oh, boy), is dreading going home this summer to help out with the family travel business. His family is eccentric, and though the family's tours are now popular (thanks to <i>that book</i>), the ancestral castle needs a lot of repairs and is possibly a hazard.

Nicole Sullivan, on the other hand, can't wait to start her new life across the pond. She's just broken up with her latest unworthy boyfriend and needs the change of pace. Her plan is simple:
<ul>
<li>Relocate to Europe</li>
<li>???</li>
<li>Profit!</li>
</ul>
When Harrison's assistant quits just as he touches down in the United Kingdom, he latches on to the perky, pushy gal with the not-at-all thought-out plan from the plane. He needs an assistant, she needs a job, and away we go.

There are so, so many tropes deployed in this book. Nicole accidentally stumbles into Harrison's room the first night and his eccentric family mistake her for a prostitute/fiancee and they decide to go with it because it'll make life easier. The residents of <s>Stars Hollow</s> the village have a running bet on how long this assistant will last (Harrison is hard on assistants, you see). Harrison is a grump with a heart of gold, Nicole is the free-spirit he never knew he needed. Unhinged Grandmother is also secretly wily and knows what Harrison needs even when he doesn't.

This wasn't a bad book, but I didn't find it to be much fun. I was terribly annoyed by Nicole from her first appearance. She's a hyper-competent assistant, but her kind of quirky energy is kind of exhausting. I don't think I was supposed to side with Harrison's annoyance with her in the early chapters, but I absolutely rooted for him to fire her.

Harrison's non-stop exasperation with <i>that book</i> was equally annoying. Look, Harry, I hated <i>Outlander</i>, too, but you're a businessman. SUCK IT UP, BUTTERCUP, and put on the kilt. No one cares about your disdain, dude.

Scotland or Bust is the third book in the Winning the Billionaire series by Kira Archer. (<a href="https://cannonballread.com/2017/10/winning-the-lottery-of-love/">I reviewed the first book in the series last year</a>, and it was very average. This is more of the same. It's not a bad way to spend $3, but I can't see myself reaching for it ever again.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley in order to facilitate this review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I found this to be a cute, funny book. Not practical, but on so fun. I think most romance readers would enjoy. The characters are wacky and adorable. Gotta love grandma. Enjoy

Scotland or Bust by Kira Archer is the story of Nicole Franklin and Harrison Troy.
Nicole broke up with her boyfriend a few months ago after figuring out that the relationship wasn't going anywhere fast. So she decided to board a plan to Scotland which put her sitting next to Harrison. Harrison is all business never really kidding around. Although, he surrounds himself with funny friends and has a crazy family he never lets go. Nicole right from the start before she even sits down starts making jokes and tells him her whole break up story.
They are two very opposite people who are very much drawn to one another. Harrison knows that Nicole would fit right in with his crazy family.
This was a fun, quick and enjoyable read that you won't be able to put down.

Thanks for a ARC copy to read and give my honest opinion.

Nikki is striving for an adventure...she quits her job, cashes in her 401k, and buys a one way ticket to Scotland.
Harrison is a billionaire, and stuck in first class because his plane is being repaired. He hates flying and on takeoff, she kisses him.
This is a cute and fun romance with some references to Outlander. Nikki takes a job with Harrison and let the fun begin. Not only does his family live in a real live castle but Harrison dresses up in a kilt. I enjoyed the romance and the fun between Harrison and the villagers. Four outlander stars of entertainment!

This was a fun story about two very different people. Nic has broken up with an ex and decides to dump her job and live her dreams with no plans she grabs her stuff buys a ticket to Scotland and heads there on the plane she meets stuffy Harrison who ends up needing an assistant so he offers her a job with him at his castle.

Then on the first night at the castle, she can't find her way to her bed and ends up crashing in his and so the next day his cooky family insist they be engaged and that is how the two end up fake engaged while he is her boss. Harry has a wild family and they drive him insane and Nic helps him deal with that.

This looks to be book 3 in a series and my first, and I loved it. It was a little crazy but in a very entertaining way.

Oh my gosh! This was one of the most entertaining books I’ve read in a very long time!

Nikki has lived her life always in a relationship, never dependent on herself. After her last break up she quits her job, cashes in her retirement fund and heads to Europe where she has absolutely no plans except to live a life of adventure. When the handsome stuck up brit next to her begins to panic as the plane takes off, she does a typical Nicole thing and kisses him.

The last thing Harrison wants is to spend the long plane trip trapped next to a stranger. When an exuberant beauty takes the seat next to him and begins telling him her life story he is not amused, not in the least. This is the most inappropriate behavior and the kiss she lands on him is even more so. Just because he returns it with gusto doesn’t change that fact. Now he’s in need of an assistant and his only hope is the wacky Nicole who has no solid plans, needs a job, and hasn’t left the airport yet.

This book was so much fun! I laughed and grinned through the whole thing until my cheeks were sore. Nikki is forthright and quirky and fits right in with Harrison’s wack-a-doodle family. I loved that she always saw the positive side of things even in the most dire of circumstances. Harrison is uptight and grumpy, always scowling and completely tired of the craziness that is his life when he returns home for the summer to help his family’s business. The last thing he wants in a woman is someone who fits in with his family. The fact that he couldn’t help but fall for her in spite of his assertions to himself made me love him all the more. (I do love a grumbly hero!)

This is a fast paced read that I whizzed through in one sitting, mostly because it was just so dang good. The secondary characters are extreme and thoroughly humorous, especially Granny. After all, when you’re her age you’re free to say and do whatever you like. Senility, you know? Along with Harrison’s friends and family, there is a group of villagers that add to the hilarity. Immature humor is not my thing, and I’m not sure this would be labeled as such. It was, however, so freaking cute I just gobbled up every bit of it.

Just a little advice, read the dedication. Then when you’ve reached about the 25% mark, go back and read the dedication again. I, personally, found it to be much more relevant at that point which caused me to laugh again. And I continued to laugh as I fell more in love with this couple and Harrison’s aversion to The Book That Must Not Be Named.

P.S. Like Nikki, I loved that book!

I wanted to like this more but found the premise was very unbelievable. What billionaire could walk away from their real work to run a ridiculous business for his ungrateful family. Many many aspects of this story felt like a stretch.
