The 13th floor by Laci Paige.
Luciana Mendez is a hard working editor for a fast paced, high-end fashion magazine in the city. Perhaps it’s the stress of an upcoming deadline for the biggest edition of the year that’s giving her nightmares. It might also explain the strange visions of the non-existent 13th floor in her office building.

Whatever it is, she starts having a hard time differentiating between what’s real and what’s not. If the dreams are real, she’s in big trouble, because something incredibly fast, large, and paranormal is stalking her deep in her sleep.

If it wasn’t for another being in her dreams, whose captivating scent and silver eyes she can’t seem to forget, she’d never go to sleep again. But with each slumber she falls deeper and deeper until she can’t fall anymore.

This was a fantastic read with brilliant characters. I read this in one sitting.  Just couldnt put it down. Brilliant. I loved Luciana. I wasn't sure if I liked Ethan.  He did scare me a little. I didn't see that coming.  Looking forward to reading more from this author. 5*.

Loved reading the first book in the Dark Dreams Novella series. I reviewed a book from NetGalley. When Lucinda finds out she has to work with Ethan, she wants to know why he doesn't like her. Meanwhile, Lucinda is having bizarre, dark dreams of the 13th floor, a floor that doesn't exist. Read the highly recommended and a wonderfully written paranormal story full of mystery, intrigue, and romance.

Female executive has scary—and sometimes sexy—dreams featuring a supposedly nonexistent floor in her building, while working on a project with a mysterious guy and having some friends-with-benefits nights with her friend’s cousin.
Once the big twist arrived, I wondered why it took so long to get there. Despite this being short, it felt like it went on too long, with her dream coming in small pieces. Just felt like it dragged on and on.
The vampire sex scene, once I cogitated on it, seems logical, but for one who can’t stand the sight of blood, it was icky.
2.5 pushed up to 3/5

This is the first book of the new paranormal romance book series of Laci. Luciana Mendez is in her late twenties and working at Ward’s Catwalk fashion magazine. She is too focused on her work and there is no much time left for personal involvements. After her friends (Sheila and Rita) insisting she goes out with them for clubbing and she ends up having a one-night stand with Nick, Rita’s cousin.

However things will become complicated when she will have to work with Ethan for a project assigned to them directly by the Mr. Ward CEO of the magazine and when her dreams will become disturbed by dark figures trying to catch her and her dreamy sexy man trying to help her and with whom the chemistry is high. What will happen when she will learn that Ethan is a vampire and the man of her dreams? Will she surrender to him? Is she ready to learn of the new world that exists on the 13th floor?

I found the book flat. Missing a lot of character depthless and in general I was not intrigued or carried away by the story progress. I felt that too many details were described and that the story was not progressing fast. It felt more as a prequel. I was expecting more by the author.

However, I’ll give to the series another chance by reading the next book.
