I really enjoyed this book! It provided enough information to tell me what each woman did and get me interested in learning more. The art was also well done and I really liked the style. It fit the overall theme of the book.

This title looks really cute and very empowering for young girls. I would recommend for middle schools given the writing and graphics of this excerpt.

Is it possible to change this world?
Of course, and this book, Teen Trailblazers 30 Fearless Girls who Changed the World by Jennifer Calvert, illustrated by Vesna Asanovic published by Castle Point Books on Oct 2 tells the real story of women of the past, (and present) that, in various existential fields made and are making the difference.
Art, policy, literature, activism these creative girls became important and changed the world, influencing the future in the field that they choose, for a reason or another, sometimes constricted by the events, before to be 20; an important age this one because still in the teenage age, a moment where the dimension of dream and the possibility of making a difference for a different world is more real.
Some example? Frida Kahlo, Jackie Mitchell, Anne Frank, Pocahontas, Samantha Reed Smith, Jane Austen, Emma Watson, Mary Shelley, Anita Garibaldi, Emma Gonzales. This final example, Emma born in 1999, is part of the #NeverAgain movement. Some teen-agers after that they saw the horror of a senseless mass shootings in their school in Parkland, Florida the day of Saint Valentine said just one word: BASTA!
Basta, because it was sufficient; basta because people of power, people with responsibilities can't permit that a teen-ager goes in a gun store buying gun wars and then just because frustrated, kills at randoms innocent lives. Life is not a videogame.
Basta, because a regulation in this matter is more than indispensible in a country where, unfortunately the problem is urgent.

The book explains for every girl the personal story, background and entire entire life.
Very well done, I know that this book will be of great inspiration. We have a brain girls, and it is better to use it for causes that matters the entire humanity.

I suggest to every parent of buying a copy of this book at their daughters. Past speaks to us with more power than not present and present needs to be cured so badly and only beautiful and brave minds can do that.

I thank NetGalley and Castle Point Books for this eBook.

Thank you Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book to read and review.

This book was amazing and very beautiful. Although this was not the full book it made me want to buy it even more.

I have 4beautiful daughters and these stories are ones I want them to hear. I will be purchasing a copy of this book.

I got this through Netgalley, I thought I was getting the whole book but I only got 32 pages and that was disappointing…

Other than that, it was really enjoyable.
Each teen gets four pages filled with their stories and some “Did you know?” anecdotes.
One page is an illustration of the girl and the other pages have some small illustrations too.
It was pretty cool, playful and pedagogical.
But I felt like it lacked something. I’ve read a pretty similar book recently, they both had Joan of Arc in it and I felt like the other book told her story more extensively.

Still, I would definitely recommend this to young teenagers so that they realize how amazing teenage girls are.

I was looking very much forward to reading this awesome book about girls who made a difference throughout history - unfortunately NetGalley only provided a sample of the book but even this part was really entertaining! I am definitely interested in reading the whole book since I find both the chosen characters, illustrations and general setup fascinating!

It's really great that there are both old and new characters and it's a colorful and, like I mentioned, entertaining read. I was a little disappointed that I only got a sample but that's not the book's fault and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun book with actual facts and knowledge (a really cute birthday or Christmas present).

Arc provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

Joan of Arc. Anne Frank. Cleopatra. Pocahontas. Mary Shelley. Many of these heroines are well-known. But have you heard of Sybil Ludington, a 16-year-old daughter of an American colonel who rode twice as far as the far better-remembered Paul Revere to warn the militia that the British army was invading?

This book is beautifully set up, the colours and illustrations are beautiful! I really enjoyed it!

4 stars :)

The formatting was terrible and the pictures didn't show up. Only 6 of 30 stories were available, even though this wasn't listed as a sample. So I didn't bother even trying to read it, which is really unfortunate because this book sounded really cool...

Initial thoughts : A book about strong, empowering females?!! Sign me up!!

I received an arc of this book from Netgalley which was incomplete. I could only read six of the thirty stories mentioned in the blurb.

This book contains stories of 30 women who did extraordinary work in their lives before they turned 20. These women are from different walks of life and different eras and tried changing the world when women were told to sit down and keep quite. The illustrations in the book are beautiful. Jennifer Calvert tells true stories which are inspiring and informative. I enjoyed reading this book and this is the kind of book I would give my future daughter to read.

I have read a lot of collections about women who have changed the world. Before I read the excerpt of this book, I expected to read stories about the same women that I have read about previously - but just about the younger ladies. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this book included many biographies about women that I have not read about before in a collection like this, and also that it included profiles on modern-day teen girls such as Jazz Jennings and Emma Gonzalez.

I can't wait to read the rest of the book! I definitely want to share this with my students so they know that they too can change the world like these teen girls have/did.

I loved the diverse amount of women that were featured in this book. I loved that the biographies were just short snippets, making it easy to follow along. There were extra features within each biography that made it more engaging as well. I can see this being a great starting point for a student doing research. This book would also be good for someone who just wants more information. I would definitely recommend this book for elementary/middle school libraries.

(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

True stories of young women who made a big difference! From authors to activists, painters to politicians, inventors to icons, these inspiring teenagers are proof that girls can change the world.
This fascinating book features 30 young women who accomplished remarkable things before their twentieth birthdays. Visually compelling with original illustrations, this book will inspire the next generation of strong, fearless women.

*I am not leaving a rating for this as I only received 16 pages - not enough to review properly.*

This looks like being a very cool book. From the introduction and first 5 or so girls who are covered in this book, I am intrigued and I going to search for this. I think my daughter will appreciate it as she gets older. It would go very well with "Rebel Girls."

Whilst I'm only reviewing a brief look at this book, I can see its charm and quiet power. I read a lot of these books aimed at young readers but one aimed at teen girls is refreshing and important. This is shown in the young women we'll read about, especially contemporary ones like Emma Gonzales and Jazz Jennings. Along with the beautiful artwork I think this is perfectly timed for a new generation of young women.

First off, I thought this was the full book but turns out it was only an excerpt. It kind of made me sad the whole time I was reading this because I was genuinely excited to read this.

I felt like giving a review would not be best since this is only an excerpt. Nonetheless, what I read was okay. The illustrations and the formatting were bright, artsy and totally pleasing to the eyes. It's an interesting topic to venture on. Kind of like clicking into an article in the internet but with more visually pleasing art and in a coffee table book form. I am definitely interested in reading the full book. This book is definitely worth checking out. It's great for young high schoolers who needs a little source of inspiration and empowerment.

I enjoyed reading this, but was a bit sad to find out it was only an excerpt. I think it should be said in the description that it’s only an excerpt, because I had to read other people’s reviews to figure out my file wasn’t just faulty!

This is really good. Illustrations are amazing. But it was an excerpt. I will definitely check the full book.

It is hard to give my opinions on this book because honestly I am completely split down the middle out of the few stories I got to read for the excerpt. The information given about the women from the past seemed like pretty standard knowledge and the harsh conditions in which the women survived seemed sugar coated. The more modern historical women were interesting and well written however. The art in both sections was beautiful. The page layout seemed like a modern classy version of a textbook, with the little footnotes in the corners. Overall I think it would make a cute gift or coffee table book from what I saw, but it is hard to have strong feelings(negative or positive) about it.

I got the digital ARC from Netgalley and I was happy to read it, until I saw it was incomplete and I thought it was only me, but upon viewing various reviews on here, I know it's not me alone and I guess this was intentional, I don't feel like I have read this book, so how to write a satisfactory review? I'm going to focus on the bit I read.

So this book features "30 fearless girls who changed the world before they were 2o." From the short chapters I was given, I can say that this book is as beautiful as any illustrated book can be—it's aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and it only adds to the beauty and stories of this inspiring book.

This book features astounding and empowering quotes from (powerful people) famous people all through which is good food for the mind and soul.

Giving us straight to the point facts about these young ladies who changed the world and inspire so many people today. The way the facts have been stated makes it information that will never be forgotten by its reader.

For example after 22 years on this earth, I am just finding out that Pocahontas is a real person, and her real name is Amonute, and her English name is Rebecca, which prompted me to dig up more about her and I was astounded by what I uncovered, so really I think this book is good for anyone of any age who knows how to read.

I received an excerpt of this beautifully designed book. I love the drawings and colors.

This book is about young women who changed the world. Included in the excerpt were Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, Pocahontas, Emma Gonzales, Maya Penn and Jazz Jennings.

Each chapter is dedicated to one young woman. The chapters start with an illustrated page opposite of a page that states the day of birth, a 3 point bulleted list to summarize who the woman is, a quote and an in-dept description of the change she brought to the world. All chapters also have smaller illustrations and text boxes that give additional details.
