This book was just okay. No one can deny the whirlwind of success that Lin-Manuel Miranda has experienced over the last several years. His passion and work ethic have earned him incredible accolades. This unauthorized biography basically rehashes what many fans already know. There are no direct interviews as much of the information in the book is obtained by third-party sources. For the casual fan, this would be an interesting read, but I think the more invested fans will have to wait until Mr. Miranda releases an autobiography sometime in the future...and you know he will! ;)

This was a quick read. Pretty interesting if you're into this sort of thing but not particularly memorable.

Count me as one of the millions in awe of Lin-Manuel Miranda's creative genius. As such, I was very excited when NetGalley gave me the opportunity to read this biography in exchange for an unbiased review!

The book itself is a rather pieced together collection of facts about Miranda's life and works to date. However, the reader definitely gets to see the "hard work, passion and persistence" that Miranda puts into everything he does. Recognized as gifted at an early age, Miranda absorbs everything around him like a sponge, taking note for future use. His work ethic, his drive, his goodness as a man working hard to be and remain a good man despite his fame are all laudable.

It is amazing and rare that one person has so much talent, creativity, passion and vision in so many areas, excelling at them all. While Miranda has already made history at his young age, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be hearing much more from him. And I look forward to that very much!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Love seeing Miranda’s life and work was influenced so much by growing up surrounded by politics and music. His talent is limitless, and he was so intentional in all the steps who took to get where he is today. Great book!

Because of this I am always fascinated to learn more about him, his history, and his creative process. Unfortunately this book was not that. This book used information easily obtained via the internet or knowledge about Miranda that has become common knowledge. It did not elaborate further into his creative process. It felt in some ways like an elongated wikipedia article.

I thoroughly enjoyed the insight into the life of my me of the most amazingly talented people of this generation. I have been mesmerized by his work since I first heard him perform a piece from IN THE HEIGHTS during the Tony Awards. I am an avid follower of Lin-Manuel on Twitter and feel like he is a dear friend because of the manner in which he treats his fans. This was very evident in this unauthorized biography. I feel like I know more about this incredibly talented man, which makes me appreciate him even more.

I am obsessed with all thing Lin-Manuel Miranda and Hamilton so I was excited to read this. It's a very quick and easy read that covers Miranda's life childhood through the production of Hamilton. I enjoyed reading this but with most all of the information coming from other sources and interviews, I already knew most of what the book contained. This would be a great book for someone who is new to Miranda or Hamilton and wanted to know more about this genius creator.

This is an interesting read about an extraordinary artist. The author has certainly done quite a bit of research and the book flows well chronologically through Miranda's life.

The book covers his life up to his big hit Hamilton. The writing is easy to engage with. I would recommend this to people who want a quick read.

I recently saw Hamilton and have always been a huge fan of Lin, so I was super excited to read this book! I was pretty disappointed, I thought they would have more interviews with either him or his family/friends not just so many quotes from ones he has done in the press. I found myself skimming a lot of the book.
