Mmm, I don't know what the problem is with the Meiers brothers... After Redeeming the Rancher (which was my lowest rated Leslie North book so far) I was a bit hesitant to start with a story of the next brother Meier. And although this story was a little less depressing, I still had problems to connect to the characters. Chace Meier wants to start a distillery in his hometown, but mayor Gretchen doesn't want any disturbances in her hometown. And Chace certainly screams disturbances. Not only to her hometown, but also to her mind and body. As a young girl, Gretchen had a crush on this Meier brother, but then he ran off and became a famous rodeo rider.
But now he is back and Gretchen is not about to let her past crush hinder her current career. But Chace certainly tries to get under her skin. Will he succeed and get his distillery or will Gretchen put a stop to his aspirations? Find out for yourself in this hot and steamy read. Three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
Seesaw of Emotions
These characters were *so* emo! There were "feelings" of all kinds running amok from the first lines of the story. And at times, it was too much. But Chase and Gretchen, as confusing as they were, had a special something, and it was mostly a good read, especially once the first third of the book settled in.
I didn’t care for this book much so I’d prefer not to leave a negative review. Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.
This is book three in the Meier Ranch Brothers series and by far my favourite! The storyline was super sweet and sexy, Chase and Gretchen had super hot chemistry and their banter was on point! They were perfect for each other. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
Gretchen is a mayor of a little town but Chase Meirs has his own plans for her. Gretchen's character is endearing and her need to prove herself is definitely one can relate to. I enjoyed this book, it has a clear narrative and truly absorbs the reader into their lifestyle. I loved the initial tension between the two lead characters and how they evolve to trust and love each other in the end.
Nate & January: Tempting the Rancher
Wes & Livie: Redeeming the Rancher
Chase & Gretchen: Claiming the Cowboy
Though all three brothers received their own story, they are intertwined to such an extent that their stories are one in the same...Love for the land and family. Ms North has created brothers who capture you heart, along with the love of their lives. I feel in order to receive the true meaning of the Meier family and where they came from generations back and what the future holds for the brothers, all three books should be read in order...though they could be read as a stand-alone, the stories have more impact if read in order.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
This is the last book in the series.
Gretchen wants to make " Close Cal, Texas " a family friendly town.
Chace wants to put "Close Cal, Texas " on the map by opening a distillery.
Olivia is livid.
No distillery is going to be opening in Close Cal.
Not on her watch!
You will have to read the book to find out what happens next.
The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
Highly entertaining, sweetly sexy, emotionally thrilling and engaging romantic adventure filled with loyalty, family and passion... Their goals are equal but their actions are at odds loved this thrilling opposites attract adventure where their arguments turn into four play... awesome reading.
Chace comes home with plans to make his mark on his hometown with a distillery. Gretchen, the mayor has ambitions of becoming a much higher official than just a mayor of a small town. The two will clash, but there is something there that goes beyond their ambitions. How will they explore them and still hold to their convictions? The two find their path, but will it be what they thought it would be? A HEA for Chace and Gretchen, it's a must read to find out how they got there. Leslie North gives the reader a hot sexy romance story each time she puts pen to paper, and "Claiming the Cowboy" is another fun read that gives the reader that feel good feeling. I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "Claiming the Cowboy". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4.5 Stars!
Chace and Gretchen are the very definition of opposites attract, yet they somehow balance each other perfectly. A good wrap up for this series.
I liked this book the best of the three. I loved how Gretchen was powerful & truly loved the town. Chase grew on me. Cute story.
The third book in the Meier Ranch Brothers book is again about one of the three brothers but could also be read as a standalone. Chace Meir is a rodeo cowboy, and a very good one at that but he has ben injured once too many times and if he is to have a life, he has to give up the rodeo.
Gretchen de Havilland is the Town Mayor with aspirations to become the Attorney General.
When Chace returns to Close Call his aspirations lie in a different area than his brothers. He wants to open a distillery and tasting room in the old welding warehouse.
Gretchen has a problem with alcohol and wants nothing to do with helping Chase get the permits and distillery open but his arguments favouring this venture bringing tourists into Close Call may just outweigh her negative feelings. Add in her teenage crush on Chase to the mix and she is finding herself in dire circumstances, her judgement very clouded.
Very enjoyable read. Thanks to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The series just got better, I loved the writing style. The story was well written and definitely kept me wanting more when I got to the end. The characters were likable and the story didn't seemed forced at all - I can't wait to read more by Ms. North.
This book will keep you wondering about Chace and Gretchen relationship. She has this way of attempting to keep him at bay and not wanting him to open up a bar or alcohol establishment in her town due to the way her mom passed. He is a bull rider and he is taking time off to heal and figure out what he is going to do next in his life. He wants to do something that he will be proud of She wants him to consider doing something along with the establishment to include kids of the visitors of his place.
Love these Meier cowboys!
Chace is a cowboy in the truest sense; he's a retired bull rider who is looking to establish a premier distillery in his home town. Standing firmly in opposition to such a plan is the town's mayor, the delectable Stanford-educated attorney, Gretchen, who is so much more grown up than the high school version Chace knew years before.
Gretchen and Chace are the epitome of an opposites-attract couple, but their chemistry pulls them together regardless of how much they fight it. I loved these characters, how they learned to find common ground, how they teased each other about their younger selves, how they put their community ahead of their own priorities.
Like the previous books in this series, there is plenty of homespun humor and country folk advice in this book, but it's done so honestly and casually that it doesn't come across as an affectation by an outsider. The author makes the small town of Close Call, Texas feel like home. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through NetGalley.
Claiming the Cowboy is the last book in the Meier Ranch Series. The story is a heartwarming romance between two people who are direct opposites, yet, are perfect for each other. I loved the connection between Chase and Gretchen.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
The third Meier Chase comes back to town and has to fine common ground with the Mayor Gretchen for business and personal life. Definitely a page turner to settle into in this third book of the series.
Ebook from Netgalley with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
Chance is a bull rider, who wants to open up a distillery in his hometown. Gretchen is the mayor, who has issues with alcohol since her mother was killed by a drunk driver. Overall a good story, although the ending felt a little rushed and all tied in nicely. Otherwise, a story that was quick and easy to read. A good summer romance, and one I highly recommend.
Thoroughly enjoyed the third instalment of this series. Chaw is your typical Bull Rider, all charisma and balls of steel. It’s lovely how his pivotal moments revolve around Gretchen. A great story
Yes Yaw, another romance set in Texas. Rodeo bull rider Chase has come home to start a distillery business. Gretchen is the mayor who has to approve it or he can't start the business They knew each other in school and the attraction is still there. Although it took a while, it has a HEA ending. Rodeo belts with big buckles are for more than holding your pants up. Really fun romance I received this book fr.om Net Galley for an honest review and no compensation
