5 Star Review
ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
Another great series from Leslie North - it’s been sometime since I read a series in a ranch setting. This is the 3rd in the series & can be read as a stand-alone
Chase Meier is the youngest of the Meier brothers who has a very successful career as a rodeo bull rider. After having recovered from some serious injuries he decides to take a break from the circuit to pursue a dream of opening a distillery on some Meier land owned by his family in Close Call. The only thing standing in his way is the approval to move forward with the project with the main objective coming from mayor Gretchen de Havilland. From what Chase can remember she is an Ivy League lawyer who has been mayor of Close Call for just a few years.
Sparks fly with these two meet & they find themselves eventually working together for the good of the town while fanning the flames of their attraction.
Like a # of Leslie North books it’s a quick read with a guarteed HEA !! Read in just one sitting !!
If you like sexy cowboys then this book is for you.
Meet Chase ex-bull rider returning to his hometown of Close Call to set up a new distillery in the town he grew up in. the only problem is he has to get permission from the Town Council as well as the Mayor Gretchen de Hallivand.
Mayor Gretchen de Hallivand has returned home to "do right" by her old hometown by being Mayor and making sure that everything is fine is. However meeting with Chase at her local Bakery and her asking for help on getting zoning permission for his new job venture but she is having none of it!
I do love a cowboy story!! Even though this book featured more around the town of Close Call and the Politics of the Town it was a light hearted read that made you sigh when the sparks flew between the two. Leslie North created to characters that were easily likeable and your heart did clench when it didn't go according to plan.
Quick fun, contemporary read with a touch of a hot cowboy and a strong and stubborn female Mayor for a penchant of some nice shoes!
Another stunning work of fiction from Ms North, with this the 3rd book in the Meier Ranch Brothers series. I had moments of love/hate with the characters, becoming immersed in their lives within the story – A sign of a well written story, if you ask me, and if you’re reading this you probably are. Ms North writes a romance with embedded truths and detailed characters the reader can become easily familiar with; seeing element of friends, acquaintances or themselves in the role players in her books. An easily readable work, with emotive themes and wonderful themes. Well written and thoroughly enjoyable. Worth reading!
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
I think this is my favorite of the three books. Gretchen and Chase were so much fun to watch as they are sparring with their words and fought their attraction.
The only thing I wished for was more from Chase's perspective at the end. It seemed like he went on his merry way without Gretchen and the next thing, there is a surprise appearance with a really romantic scene and a great HEA. I guess that I like a little more of his reason for waiting and not coming back right away.
Mmm, donuts.
Oh no, haha! At least she made herself memorable.
We get it, you're handsome.
You're spooky, Darcy. I like it.
I learned a new word.
I know what star anise is, but it's gross.
Always be reachable, I guess.
Should have apologized to him first thing.
Why are there bras on the ground?
Hilarious proposal.
4.5 Stars Claiming the Cowboy is a fitting conclusion to the Meier Ranch Brothers series. Chace & Gretchen are fabulous characters and the storyline is passionate, engaging and well written. I recommend if you haven’t read this series you go pick it up
Chase wants more from life than living as a bull rider. Ready to shut the door on the past and embrace the future he approaches Gretchen about a distillery and tasting room in their small town. Gretchen’s fears about approving a place would cause others the same pain she felt as a child. Working together to preserve their small towns way of life will drive them closer together. Great ending to another series.
Third book in the series and just as good. Those Meier boys are something. Chase was a rodeo cowboy and Gretchen was mayor of their small town. It did take a while, but they finally fell for each other, only to have misunderstanding get in the way. But all is well in the end. I really enjoyed this one. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review
Leslie North is such a creative writer, she can keep her readers so absorbed into her stories that you can’t put them down. Once again she has written a story that pulls at the heartstrings and you can’t help falling in love with her characters. You always get great characters, writing and story with this author and she sure has delivered that in this book and series. One of the best series I’ve read in a long time. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book to all book lovers out there.
This might be my favorite in the series! I always love seeing the bad boy fall! Chase was great, getting in digs at Gretchen, and Gretchen needed a little goading to get her to loosen up. The epilogue was awesome too!
As readers we often loathe the ending of any favourite series, however Ms North has penned a wonderful ending with her final book in the Meier Ranch Brothers series!
Claiming the Cowboy is Chase Meier’s story and a captivating, passionate and emotional tale throughout. Chase and Gretchen are two very different people; a rough riding Rodeo Rider and a proper professional woman, with her public image front and centre. What shines through from early on, is the absolute connection and perfect compatibility between this unlikely couple.
So if you’re looking for a wonderful romance, this is definitely the book for you!
Chase is willing to compromise. Gretchen has a harder time of it. After all she is Mayor and has an image that she thinks needs to be perfect. No room for mistakes because there are people waiting for her to fail. Lucky for Gretchen, she has Chase in her corner.
Just read this book in 2 hours! Good story, well written, easy to read! Couldn't put it down! My first time reading Leslie North, I want to read more!
What first caught my eye was the book cover to be honest. Not disappointed!
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this for an honest review!
