I truly love the women of Sweet Lake, even the quirky Sirens. The Season of Silver Linings is the third book in this fabulous series, with each book mainly focusing on one of the three main characters. Jada, Cat and Linnie are co-owners of the Wayfair Inn and as their lives are intertwined, they share their good times and are there for each other during the trying times. They are such good friends, friends who can say and do anything—nothing is off limits.
This story had a bit of a different feel to me. I still loved it as much as the first two books but this one seemed more mysterious with the addition of a woman who arrives at the Inn, asking questions about the past. Memories and emotions get stirred up as the past is revealed and the truth comes out.
I have loved my visits to Sweet Lake and I've loved watching the relationships between the characters grow. I feel like I know these people so well and I'm always sad when I turn the last page of the book because that means my visit with my friends is over. I hope I can return again soon.
The Season of Silver Linings is the third edition in Christine Nolfi’s Sweet Lake series. Once more, we are treated to the beautiful setting of the Wayfair Inn in Sweet Lake, a small fictional town in southern Ohio. The first book of the series focused on resort owner Linnie Wayfair, while the second one had Wayfair Inn marketing manager Cat Mendoza as the primary focus. This third in the series has co-manager Jada Brooks, organizing wiz and baker extraordinaire, as the focus.
With the upcoming nuptials of Linnie and town lawyer Daniel Kettering, Jada has stepped in to take Daniel’s place in helping his younger brother, Phillip with his daughter Fancy. Although already stretched close to her limits, Jada has developed deep feelings for the motherless child. What she is hard pressed to admit, is that those feelings may just extend to her father.
When a special guest arrives at the inn with many questions regarding the child’s mother, the plot unfolds at first as the reader may have thought, but then there are plot twists you never saw coming with an outcome no one could have predicted.
Once again, Ms. Nolfi has written a lovely heartwarming story that will keep the reader torn between wanting to know what happens next to not wanting the delightful story to end. I have loved all I have read that Ms. Nolfi has written and this in no exception. I do recommend this book!
The Season Of Silver Linings is the third book in Christine Nolfi’s Sweet Lake series .
Follow pastry chef Jada along with her two best friends as they restore the Wayfair inn and their lives take twists and turns in this beautiful town that Christine Nolfi has created and draws the reader in with her talent for storytelling . I love the sirens in the previous books and they were back with full force ! I want to be a Siren when I grow up !
It was fun to revisit Sweet Lake, Ohio. The Sweet Lake Sirens are fun and wonderfully real. Nolfis writing style brings the reader unmeasurable joy and you feel as if you are really there and the characters are old friends. Its real life with the humor, the pain, the emotions and that little bit of mystery. Absolutely loved it!
I had a little trouble getting into the story in The Season of Silver Linings by Christine Nolfi. While it did take me a chapter or two to feel caught up, if I had read the previous books I would have appreciated that the author didn’t repeat those books at the beginning of this one. Jada is a pastry chef and partner in a lakefront hotel in Ohio along with her friends. She has been spending considerable time with her deceased friend ‘s daughter and husband to help them manage when someone who could effect all of their lives checks into the hotel. Long buried feelings are exposed in this warm hearted story of family and friendships. I enjoyed this ARC that I received from Netgalley. I plan on going back to read the other books.
I enjoyed this book very much and the author does a great job of catching you up if you have not read books 1 and 2. Reading this book did make we want to go back and read the previous books. Great character development. I give this book 4 out 5 and will definitely look for future books.
This is a story of hope. Jada is strong, capable woman. Her friends rely on her to take care of pretty much everything. And she does and can. She has stepped in to help single father Phillip with his precocious daughter, Fancy. The Sirens of Sweet Lake has recently started to target Jada and a mystery visitor is coming to the Wayfair Inn asking for Jada. The story that unfolds is heartbreaking and healing for all those involved. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and seeing how forgiveness can heal even if you are just forgiving yourself.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing in exchange for an honest review. I highly recommend this book!!
This is the third book in the series, and it took me awhile to figure out what got these three women to this point in their lives. Christine Nolfi did a good job of bringing the reader up to date, but I think jumping in distracted me.
The series features three friends, Jada who apparently is the Alfa dog, Linnie and Cat. They saved this beautiful old inn, and turned it into a successful business. The ladies have their distinct personalities and strengths. This novel focuses on Jada and the changes that are occurring in her life. A relationship with an old flame and her growing affection for his small daughter.
I enjoyed the plot, the characters, but believe that reading the first two books would enhance the experience. I plan to go do that. I received this as an ARC from NetGalley and the opinions are my own.
This was the third book in the Sweet Lake series. I really enjoyed Jada’s story. I found myself pulling for her & Phillip. I just enjoy this series.
Thanks to Christine Nolfi, the publisher & Netgalley for the advanced copy!

The story of the Wayfair along with the three best friends Linnie, Jada and continues and the Sirens have their sights this time on Jada; and she has no time for the ladies shenanigans. Linnie and Daniel are finally saying I do & with Cat & Ryan being newlyweds, a lot of the day to responsibilities plus keeping up with all the baking has fallen on the shoulders of Jada. Now she has stepped in helping Phillip (Daniels brother) with his little girl Fancy & let’s just say she is not happy with spending less time with her Uncle Daniel, but at the same time she has developed a special bond with Jada & she love when she spends time with her and her daddy. The Seasons of Silver linings has a mystery that involves the scent of Rosemary, a retired college professor staying at the Wayfair, Penelope Jada, Phillip, & Fancy. It involves love, loss, forgiveness and new beginnings. I hope love this books and its characters as much as I do. Thank you Christine Nolfi; I hope their is more to come with Sweet Lake.
Small town charm, a bit of a mystery, and colorful characters add up to a wonderful book, a perfect beach read! The Season of Silver Linings is the third book in the Sweet Lake series, which centers around the women who run the inn in this lakeside town. Reading this book is like coming home and becoming reacquainted with old friends! This book features Jada, the friend who seems to always be holding down the fort for her friends! It was great fun getting to read her story, as she opens up her heart. This book is delightful and poignant, the perfect book to pack in your suitcase or beach bag! Although you could read this book as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the first two books in the series, Sweet Lake and The Comfort of Secrets first...it will make this book so much richer.
I can not get enough of this series by Christine Nolfi. . Her books take you away to a place where you immediately feel like you belong and the characters are your neighbors. The storyline and character development grows with each book. I strive to be a "Siren!"
You will laugh and maybe cry, and believe me when I say, you don't want to miss this book.
This book is the first I've read in this series, but I had no problem jumping in because the author does a good job of quickly covering what you need to know when it's necessary.
I enjoyed the deep friendship between the 3 main characters and loved The Sirens because they meant well even if sometimes their efforts were annoying or over the top. You have to love a group of women that take others under their wings trying to help them.
The relationships between everyone is what pulled me in and kept me reading. Christine Nolfi obviously loves writing about friendship, love and caring because she does so extremely well. I've read other books by this author and will go back and read books 1 and 2 in this series.
Thank you Netgalley for providing an early copy at my request.
Nolfi has a cast of the quirkiest and most colorful characters that you will find in any book. This book was amazing this crazy cast of characters, how can you not love the book. Helping run the Inn plus help her best friend with her wedding leaves everyone on edge. Jada gets a secret visitor and the past and present collide. Absolutely hilarious, with Nolfi's typical dramatic flair. This book will warm your heart and make you believe in second chances and new beginnings. Every book keeps getting better and better and I can't wait to read the next one.
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time! The third book about the Sweet Lake community and it's lovable characters! Each character has their own unique personality. I laughed and cried and chuckled out loud, and I did not want this book to end. I'd been waiting for Jada's story and loved every minute of it. Such an enjoyable read! When I thought I knew what was about to happen, it would fool me again! I sure hope there are going to be more Sweet Lake books! There are several sirens that need their story told and I think Fancy should have her own romance when she gets older! Or at least a Princess fairytale! I have been recommending this book all over Facebook!
The third book in this Sweet Lake novel series was well worth the wait! After reading the first two books and becoming acquainted with the characters of Sweet Lake, I was anxious to see where the next book would take them and was not disappointed! The books revolve around three friends, Linnie, Cat and Jada AND the town’s self-proclaimed know-it-alls, the Sirens, who give inspiration and motivation to all who will pay attention. This book brought a bit of a mystery to the Wayfair Inn as a lodger seemed to be asking too many questions that made Jada quite nervous about what the connection could possibly be to the history of Sweet Lake, the Inn, and her friends. A love interest for Jada gave the hard-working gal a new dimension and we have yet to see where that takes her! I truly enjoyed catching up with the Sweet Lake characters and look forward to the continuing storyline....hoping there will be more!! If you enjoy a good read, getting involved in the lives of the characters in a novel, and looking forward to what happens next, this book and series is for you. While any of the books could be stand-alone reads....why not follow along on their journey from the beginning? I received an ARC of this book from the author and Net Galley in return for an honest review, which this was.
I love the Wayfair Inn and Sweet Lake and I was so glad to go back and visit. Jada has the weight of the Wayfair Inn on her shoulders since Linnie is planning her wedding and Cat is a newlywed. Jada is even picking up the slack and helping Philip and Fancy since Daniel is getting married. This book has it all romance, mystery, and secrets and it is unputdownable ! I loved the chemistry between Jada and Philip and little Fancy is as sweet as she can be, This book can be a stand alone but I think the first two should be read first so you enjoy the whole Wayfair Inn experience. I received an advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing. All opinions are my own.
I have read many of this author's works and have never been disappointed. She writes with such humor and humanity that each of her books bring tears and laughter. This book did not disappoint me!
"The Season of Silver Linings" is the third in a series. It can be read as a standalone, but you would be missing out on the back story and, while you would catch up eventually, you would miss a lot of the character development. The plot is well written and full of interesting people. I particularly loved Millicent. She reminded me of many women I have known. Jada is also a primary character and she has grown and developed since we first met her.
Needless to say, this book is a pleasure to read. I'm hoping for a book 4!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and Lake Union Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Season of Silver Linings is the third book in the Sweet Lake series. I felt as though I had taken a trip to visit my friends in Sweet Lake and the Wayfair Inn.
I love the mix of personalities, meddling in everyone's business, especially the Sirens, who always seem to know what needs to be done as well as had me laughing.
Friendship, love, family, past secrets bring emotions to life.
Wonderfully written story with romance, mystery and humor.
Thank you NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for the opportunity to read this book.
Thank you Christine Nolfi for taking me on another adventure in Sweet Lake.
This was truly a great read! It’s the third Sweet Lake book, and it was my favorite! I really enjoyed the Sweet Lake Sirens, a group of busy older women whose antics amuse throughout the book. I loved reading about the three owners of the Wayfair Inn, Jada, Linnie and Cat, however this book belonged to Jada. Her story was such fun to read! I honestly didn’t want this book to end. I felt like I had actually been to the beautiful Wayfair Inn as I read Jada’s story. There were twists and turns through the story that I never saw coming! You will love this book! I highly recommend it!
