InI keeping with this book’s description, Death at Sea reads like a trip through time. The first several stories in this collection are sparsely written with little descriptive material, and a short punchy dialogue style. As a fan of the other books in the series I found this disconcerting. But, the book began to develop the writing style, more fully fleshed out characters, and sense of place that I have come to appreciate in the other tales of Inspector Montalbano.
