Craft projects are best for kids to develop their creativity. In this book it gives insight into 100 crafts using foam sheets.......
This book is full of ideas and sounds like it would be really fun. The file I got from NetGalley to review only contained an introduction/the press release but I have since had a look at a proper copy of the book and found it easy to follow, nice bright images and it has plenty to do for all ages - 4 stars
There are lots of great and inexpensive ideas in this book that are easy for kids of all ages to do. I would recommend it highly any of my patrons, family, and friends.
The file I got from NetGalley only contained an introduction so I've gone to Amazon to see what the sample pages had to offer. There's plenty there.
The book appears to be well thought out with plenty of clear advice on how to use templates, stick parts together, use a diecutter (although you don't have to have one of these) and how to interchange embellishments on the various creations, if you wish. There are lots of fun ideas for things to create - pencil tops, gift boxes, little bags, pencil holder, visors etc. I see the projects as starting points. One a child has confidence they can go on to make whatever they like with foam.
For some of the projects you could easily use felt instead of foam, which would be a little more environmentally friendly!
This is a nicely produced book of craft ideas, and I applaud the sentiment expressed in the introduction of the creative fun you can have together once you can get your family off their electronic devices. This book is a good way of achieving that goal.
Looks perfect with lots of different crafts to do with the kids, always needing something easy and fun and this book has it all
This book looks like it might be fun. It's full of great projects for kids who live in crafting households. I noticed the use of die-cut machines and decorative scissors, along with items not commonly found in most homes: tw0 sided tape, glitter glue, and hole punchers of various sizes. Maybe it would be a good buy for a school or public library. I'm not sure how much value it would have in a regular, non-crafting home. BUT- for those children lucky enough to live in a crafting household or those lucky enough to live near a craft-y friend and her crafty household, they are in for a real treat! Chances are pretty good that they will already own this book, but making them aware of the book may lead to a great crafting mom inviting them over to make some cool Foam craft from the book! One can only hope! This book is loaded with fun projects that are not only creative, but useful. I'm a crafter, as is my daughter and a cousin! And the three of us also introduce children in our lives to crafting, leading to the chance some of them will purchase this book! I know I will at some point!
Excellent projects that can be done by adults and kids. It is something I will definitely use in my classroom. The patterns and instructions are easy to follow.
Just in time for summer!
Foam Crafts For Kids is a great addition to our summer projects. It is very easily read and gives detailed instructions for multiple creative foam crafts suitable for almost any age.
This would be an excellent book to leave with any babysitter, take with you on vacation or just spend a lazy Sunday with your kiddos!
Special thanks to Netgalley and Fox Chapel Publishing for providing me with a copy of this book.
A perfect book for a rainy day for kids, parents and grandparents. 100+ fun and easy projects, featuring 350 photos, supply lists, simple instructions, and full-size patterns. Includes puppets, masks, purses, head bobbers, and an array of other kid-worthy stuff. Scratches that crafty itch just right!
Thanks to NetGalley and Fox Chapel Publishing for the ARC. Opinions are mine.

Summer is here and the kids are out of school. Mine are running around yelling I'm bored, a lot!! Foam Craft for kids features over 100 projects for the kids to make. Foam sheets are available in so many different stores and they are cheap. Our Dollar tree even sells them by the packs of several sheets as well as stickers and shapes. This book is great for kids of all ages and even us adults can have fun with this book.
The thing I really like about this book is is get the imagination flowing and the kids can create these projects their way and also come up with some new projects on their own. Who knew few foam sheets and bottle of glue could save Mom's sanity?
I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.
Subtitled: Over 100 Colorful Craft Foam Projects to Make with Your Kids, this book was a fun read. I have to say up front that i personally am not a fan of foam crafts, nor have iI ever indulged in any, but I read this book through and I looked up the details of making these things (everything you need to know is in this book!), and I have no doubt that if you follow the author's instructions, you will make these items successfully, and take a joy in doing them, especially if you're a young kid.
Some of the items have a practical use, others are decorative (which is also practical when you think about it!). There were some really fun items. I particularly found the finger puppets amusing. I'm in process of putting out a series of amateur children's books called The Little Rattuses, which is mainly done with drawings and photographs, but I can see myself putting out one of these books featuring images made purely from foam-crafted rats after reading this. I'm not kidding!
I can see kids having a ton of fun with these items (finger puppets I'm looking at you!), and with the satisfaction of knowing you can make your own toys! Working with one's hands has the advantage of somewhat rewiring one's brain and allowing you to see things differently. That's never a bad thing, and it prepares children for other challenges later in life.
I think the book is well done. It's a blaze of color, with examples and templates for cutting out shapes (not sure how those work in the ebook version, quite honestly!), as well as many tips and hints for success. This author is serious about this craft and it shows in her advice, safety tips, and hints and examples. I recommend this for anyone interested in crafting and in teaching kids a craft.
I didn't get the full book to review from Netgalley, but I did get a publicity synopsis. It looks like there are some really creative ideas.
There is no book here, merely a page of marketing copy for the Protected PDF. Therefore, we are unable to review this title. Looks like a colorful, engaging book that will provide hours of fun and spark creativity.
I am not sure if I missed something in the description or not, but both the PDF download and the Kindle download only gave me one page. The book comes from East Petersburg PA which is in Lancaster County PA. I work in that county and love supporting local businesses. I would love to give this a better review, but there really was nothing for me to review. Perhaps it was a bad download, but in both PDF and Kindle versions? If it was meant to be only a sample, please indicate this in the description.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to see this for an honest review!
I love crafts especially when I'm with my nieces! They enjoy it!
There were some issues with the file I was given though so I can't comment on everything! But what I did get to see I enjoyed! The kind of thing you can do with your kids, or friend's kids!
They won't be disappointed! Easy, well explained... Go nuts, have fun!
