I'm in love with this new Hockey series by Sawyer Bennett already and Bishop is only book 1. How can you not. Hello hot hockey players and a pretend relationship yes please. Sometime one night stands can get in in trouble. Well kind of. Bishop is drawn to Brooke from the moment he sees her. They heat up the sheets. Bishop is a sexy hockey star for the new team Arizona Vengeance and little did he know Brooke is part of the organization too. Brooke is sweet and has a huge heart. I love how she is concerned for her dad that she does what ever she thinks will make him happy. Fake relationships are never easy and it doesn't help that this one involved the coaches daughter. Bishop is an amazing man and he wants to help Brooke anyway he can. It is so sweet to watch their relationship blossom from lovers/friends to more. I love the little bit of crazy mixed in with the sweet. Bishop and Brooke right now are my favorite couple in this new series. I can't wait to see what happens to the other men form the Vengeance as they fall. Outstanding start to this one.
This is my first book I read from Sawyer and it won’t be my last. I was hooked from the start, once I started reading I couldn’t put my kindle down. I love everything about this story except maybe Nanette. Bishop is a sexy AF hockey player who has a one night stand with Brooke who has something in common they both didn’t know about. I love the story, love the characters and I can’t wait for Erik’s story next.
If you're a fan of sports romance stories with great characters, humor, a fake engagement, and lots of HOT sex, then you'll definitely want to read Bishop, the first book in the Arizona Vengeance series by Sawyer Bennett.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
I simply did not believe it was possible for this author to write yet another book about a hockey player and make it fresh and fun. Surely there can not be another story to be told. I was wrong.
Although this book immediately veers into the fake engagement becomes real plot, it was so enjoyable to read that this well used plot did not seem tired. I attribute this to the author's engaging writing style and to the fact that the main characters, Brooke and Bishop, are like most all characters in this author's books - decent people who have interesting personalities and find themselves dealing with unique situations. The story was populated with some delightful and intriguing characters I’m sure we'll be hearing more about. Best of all, when confronted with adverse situations they behaved mostly like adults and didn’t do “stupid stuff” just for the sake of a plot twist. How refreshing!
While I’m occasionally in the mood for a story that is deep and dark, this one was more Goldilocks -not too much drama, but just enough to be interesting. It was fun, steamy and smart. I think this author should change her name to Scheherazade Bennett, because she has at least 1001 stories that will keep you up all night.
4.5☆ Bishop was great! I found the storyline to be quite amusing. Bishop and Brooke have a unique relationship. It was very entertaining reading about their views on their relationship and what they should do next. They're a cute couple for sure! As much as I love the Cold Fury Series it was refreshing to have a new hockey team and all new players to learn about. I already found myself hoping for books about 4 other players. They're a great group of guys and I think this will be a great new series. But I will still always love the Cold Fury. I appreciated all the hockey stuff at the beginning with the expansion draft and how it was explained. The only thing I disliked was that the end felt very sudden and there wasn't an epilogue of any sort. I was hoping for more of a wrap-up. Bishop was a funny, cute, and steamy book all in one and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love Sawyer Bennett.
She has this hockey series, Cold Fury Hockey that is 11 books and somehow continues to write fresh new stories. Arizona Vengeance is a spin off of that. More hockey. More hot, broody guys to swoon over.
Brooke and Bishop meet, hookup and never really plan on seeing one another again. Only Bishop walks into work and sees Brooke and knows fate is stepping in, until her father steps in, his coach.
Brooke bakes up this lie on the fly to save his butt from being benched or worse for the season.
Now they know nothing about each other, but they are engaged. Whoops.
They have to pull off this charade for awhile then end things nice and softly, only they develop feelings for one another and it turns into more than a fake relationship.
Add in a crazy friend, a nosy dad, a new team and some steamy scenes and you can't stop reading!
I am so looking forward to more of this series! More hot, broody hockey guys please!
What's the saying? "It's a small world?" Yes, it is more than a ride at Disney!!! the saying came first. Two people meet in a bar and have a one night stand, or so they think. They next day they stumble upon each other and that is when this book get really interesting. Acquaintances become friends. Friends get some benefits. Friends become lovers and from there they become each other's everything. Their journey is entertaining, passionate and, at times, funny.
Okay, let me start with I received a free copy for an honest review. In saying that, I must also say that I have only read the Cold Fury series by Mrs Bennett. I loved and thought I’ll give her new hockey series a try. I read the first chapter of Bishop and was like “ what the heck”. All in he first chapter they characters had sex and even a little anal action. I read books for the story line not for nothing but sex, sex, sex. Like I mentioned earlier I received a free copy for review, so I decided to read a few chapters and hope that i would be presently surprised. I’m so glad I did because I loved Bishop and Brooke.
Brooke and Bishop meet at the bar. They hookup and have a one night stand. They only exchanged first names and nothing else. Bishop has just been traded to a new NFL hockey team and the day after his hookup with Brooke he is at the arena and he sees Brooke in one of the offices. Bishop is pumped because he wouldn’t mind having another night with Brooke. He shuts her office door, they talk for a minute and then he wraps her up in a steamy kiss. At that moment the head coach opens the door. Coach
Perron is pissed and Brooke calls him “daddy”. Bishop knows he is screwed! Well, Brooke try’s to help and tells her dad they are engaged. Her thought process is if she tells him that he won’t be pissed at Bishop and take it out on him. From this point on Brooke and Bishop try and convince his team and her dad they are a couple. Which of course is funny because they keep having to fib a littler more each time.
Overall I enjoyed this book. The storyline had some sweet and steamy parts, and dual POV. Also the supporting characters were great. I can’t wait for the other guys on Vengenance team. The only thing I would change would be an epilogue because it ended just a little to soon for me.
What a great book! I loved it. Intersting storyline, a one night stand turns into a fake relationship turns into love! Add hockey into in the mix and come up with a winner. Brooke and Bishop are wonderful together. This book introduces a few of Bishop's teammates and I can't wait to read about them.
I have read several books by Sawyer Bennett and I have never been disappointed yet. I would recommend this book.
I can’t connect with these two characters despite loving the premise of the story. I don’t know if I’m not into sports romance anymore or what. This just didn’t click for me.
Bishop took me by surprise. The Fake Fiancee story line is not new, however the way the author wrote these characters was refreshing. These characters are smart, witty, sexy, and the book is just a fun read.
Bishop and Brooke went into this farce with their eyes wide open. I liked the fact that neither one of them put more into the relationship than the other. It wasn't a one-sided love affair for one person and we had to wait until the end of the book for the other person to finally "see the light" Both characters knew the score and the feelings grew between them at the same pace. It made it more believable.
I also enjoyed the fact that, Ms.Bennett didn't make Brooke the type of female who would fall for her "friend's" obvious ploy to cause trouble with Bishop. She believed Bishop when he told her what happened, and was willing to give up something important to her, to save his job and reputation.
This was a good read.
ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
It's no real secret that I am a huge fan of Sawyer Bennett and I am super excited about this new series.
Bishop begins what is sure to be a love affair with the Arizona Vengeance. He's sexy, single, and a little bit cocky. And, oh yeah, he's a hockey player. Basically, he clicked all my boxes. Enter Brooke. She's smart, driven and caring. She's just kinda, normal. Down to earth even though she's been surrounded by hockey players most of her life, she doesn't care much for the flashy player and she definitely doesn't chase the jersey. A hockey player in a new city, with a new team. A woman just trying to recover from tragedy.
I really think I'm going to love this new series. Bishop was a fairly quick read with just a touch of drama. The characters were authentic and I loved their banter. There is plenty of swoon, and the sexy times we've come to expect from this author do not disappoint. I thought that Bishop and Brooke had great chemistry and I really enjoyed the way their relationship evolved. There were some great moments between the holds nothing back, sassy Brooke and the flirty, swoony Bishop.
I can't wait to get to know the rest of the players. Bennett did a great job setting up the series in a way that leaves of begging for more.
I was excited to see SB start another series....more hockey for the win!
Bishop is different. I'm a bit of a sucker for fake romance, anyway. But Bishop and Brooke were sweet, and it was lovely watching this come together. I can see spinoffs to the rest of the team here...
An enjoyable summer read!
I just love hockey stories and this was highly entertaining!!!
I loved the fact that Bishop is such a down to earth guy! His whole character spoke to me on another level! It was a book that riveted me to the point that I fell for the characters and the way they chatted!
I loved the whole storyline, it felt real and I felt apart of their lives!
When Bishop has a one night stand that blows things out of the water, he doesn’t expect to see her again! Nor working within the hockey team he is a part of! When caught in a compromising position Where her Dad finds, Brooke comes up with a fake relationship that is rather entertaining as things progresses!!
I really enjoyed this story, the banter, the friendships and the wonder of what will happen! Will feelings become involved or do they go their separate ways!
Loved it and cant wait for more!
It got down and dirty pretty quick, and I knew this was going to be super fun to read. Brooke and Bishop we hot and heavy from the get go, and had mad chemistry between them. They both painted themselves in a corner in an effort to 'do the right thing,' even though it wasn't the best idea in the world. They eventually figure out how to just have fun with it, and unconsciously end up getting lost in one another. It wouldn't be complete with a little twist here and there, but it adds some zing to the story and the main thing is a HEA! I can't wait to hear about the rest of the boys from Vengeance crew.
Sawyer Bennett knows how to write sports romance! I absolutely loved Bishop! I’m a huge fan of hockey and Ms Bennett has nailed this genre. I love how Brooke and Bishop’s story starts out as a lie and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them fall in love. Of course, they have smoking hot chemistry and I cannot wait to read the rest of this new series! Highly recommend! 5 Stars!
I loved it! Great start to a new hockey series by this author. A hot one-night-stand that turns into a fake relationship that turns into LOVE! What's not to like about that. Bishop and Brooke are great together. We meet quite a few of the teammates as well and they all look interesting. Can't wait to see their HEA as the series progresses.
Great hockey. Great steamy romance. Loved Bishop the best --perfect book boyfriend material!
Awesome start to a new series!!!!! So many interesting characters, Erik, Blue, Dax, Tacker and last but so not least... Dominik!!! There has got to be a story there!!!!
Bishop grew on me and I loved Brooke from the start. What disappointed me though... that ending! What a dud. Give us an epilogue at least.
While some things are predictable, this is definitely a must read series!!
I love Sawyer Bennett's books, and this first book in her brand new series doesn't disappoint.
Bishop and Brooke have the perfect "meet cute" relationship, which leads to a hot hookup. When they run into each other the next day, Bishop thinks that means the universe wants them to spend a little more time together. When Brooke's dad walks in on them ready to devour each other, they concoct a scheme to save face that just may lead to their downfall in they can't keep all the lies straight. Throw in Brooke's frenemy and it becomes a flat out recipe for disaster.
I really enjoyed watching Brooke and Bishop's relationship evolve throughout the story. Both characters were people I genuinely liked. I loved how supportive they were of one another as individuals.
I'm excited to see the secondary characters have their own stories. I need Tacker to be brought back to life. I need Erik, Legend and Dax to all find their better halves. I also can't wait to see if GM Rutherford and the Vengeance's owner Dominik Carlson get their own books. Getting readers excited for secondary characters and sprinkling their stories along the way is something Ms Bennett does better than almost anyone else in the romance game.
I love this new series. I’m a huge Sawyer Bennett fan. I love this story. The build to all the feelings is perfect. I am excited to read more books in this series.
