Absolutely love Sawyer Bennett and her Sports series. She keeps her books exciting, steamy and making you want more. I can't wait for the next book.
I received an arc of this book for an honest review. First of all, I have never read a book by Sawyer Bennett, but I love hockey books and figured I would give it a try. I am so glad I did because I really liked it. Bishop just got traded to a new hockey team and the first night out he meets this girl and they have a one night stand, except the girl he just slept with...yeah that's his new coaches daughter. After being found in a compromising position by his coach Brooke does the only thing she can think of and tells her dad Bishop is her fiance. Oops. Except as they play this charade the two of them actually start falling for each other. I really liked both Bishop and Brooke because each are flawed in their own way. Brooke is definitely naive in some ways and Bishop starts out as a man whore, but it's only when he's not in a relationship. I loved that Bishop and Brooke for the most part did a great job of just communicating with each other and that it wasn't just lust but you start to see the two fall in love. I also enjoyed the side characters even though the one was bat shit crazy, but she brought in some drama without being over the top. I am definitely going to check out more books by this author and I can't wait to see her at Book Bonanza in July. I would recommend this book if you want a good romance.
Sawyer Bennett first introduced us to The Cold Fury men, which that series is a must read. Now she has a new hockey series with the guys from Arizona Vengeance. First up is Bishop, who I think you are going to love.
I always enjoy reading a sports romance, and being Australian, I'm not sure why the hockey athletes have me so intrigued, but they do. I have only watched one game live, but use that vision whenever I read one of these books, and it sure helped with Bishop. I adore a guy that has strong family values, loyalty, good work ethics and humor with sensitivity. Bishop has all the boxes ticked for me. For him to help Brooke out, and try and save face with her dad, was crazy but also endearing. He sure is a keeper.
We mainly talk about the men in these type of books, but it no way takes away from the strong female characters that Ms Bennett writes. Brooke's caring nature towards her dad might have gotten her in hot water, but it is a quality that shines bright for Bishop. How she holds her own in the business also captivates and titillates him. The way they both fall for each other was a treasure to read, it wasn't forced or wooden at all. It came about through spending time together and getting to know each other on a deeper level. One of the things I noted and liked was that not all the sex scenes were written in full, some were left to the imagination. But the ones that were there...... *fan myself* ...... HOT!
Next up is Erik, who I think is going to feel a lot of pain before he gets his HEA, but the one book I will be hanging out for will be Tacker's. His will be a sad story and one that will deserve a beautiful HEA.
While I am a fan of Sawyer Bennett's hockey series, I thought this story was lacking a real plot and was based on a ridiculous premise of faking a relationship and engagement. I was more intrigued at the story line set up of characters for the future books in this series.
This is the first book in a new hockey series by Sawyer Bennett. It is timely, in that it uses an expansion NHL team similar to what happened this year. Bishop and one of his teammates came over in the expansion draft and he isn’t very pleased. He loved playing in New York. The night before training camp starts, they head out to a bar. He meets a hot looking girl who is just out for one night of fun, one who honestly doesn’t know who he is. That is not until the next day when he sees her at the training facility. He is actually thrilled until he realizes one big obstacle stands in their way.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.
I love love love love this book! There are some issues with the hockey terminology in regards to free agents and how expansion drafts work, but it is a really cute story.
I wanted to like this one more than I actually did. Usually I love hockey books, but I found Bishop pretty one dimensional. I thought that he went from not wanting to be with her forever to full tilt in love... and I couldn't figure out how that happened. I did end up skimming a bit, which tells me that the book wasn't for me. But I finished it, which is better than some others I won't name... And you know it's not a good sign when, for the life of me, I can't remember the heroine's first name. 2.5 stars from me.
Sawyer Bennett has another HIT Hockey team on her hands with the Arizona Vengeance. I was so excited to see she was going to introduce us to more hockey studs. I loved her Cold Fury Series and I have to say I think I am liking these Arizona men even more. I thought this one was even steamier than her Cold Fury men.
Bishop is a fun, sexy and totally entertaining read. It is perfect for a lazy Sunday or an afternoon on the beach. This book is the first in the Arizona Vengeance Series and I look forward to reading all the stories of the men we met in this book. It is a standalone novel that is told in Dual POV. I did think the ending was rather abrupt, I would’ve liked an epilogue, but I am hoping that with the way she ended this story, that it leaves it open to see Brooke and Bishop in other books. NO this is NOT a cliffhanger!!!!
What happens when something “fake” turns into something real??
In this book we meet Bishop Scott. He is a hot hockey player that was just traded to a new expansion team in Arizona. Not overly happy about this, he is willing to give things a go and do his best. The night before the training season begins he decides to go and get is groove on. This is where he meets Brooke and both are down for a One Night Stand. Brooke is also new to Arizona. She is taking on a new job and to help her father cope with the loss of her mother 7 months earlier. Little did they know that, that one night stand would change their lives. What happens when they find out who they really are?? Can Brooke and Bishop get their HEA?? Read this book to find out.
What I love the most about Sawyer Bennett’s sport romance books/series, is that she does the perfect mix of story and hockey. She gives us interesting storylines but also puts just the right amount of Hockey jargon in the story. You aren’t overloaded with hockey stats and the game of hockey that you lose the main story. Her books are perfect for everybody. Even if you aren’t a hockey fan or a fan of the sports romance novels.
I loved getting to meet all the other guys of this series. I am truly looking forward to each of their stories.
I would 100% recommend this book to everyone!! If you are a fan of Sawyer’s Cold Fury series, then you are going to want to meet the men of the Arizona Vengeance!!! Make sure you have a fan and some water when you read this book ;)
4.5 stars!
A new series, a whole host of new characters and I am already completely addicted! This book has a bit of everything, some humour, awkward situations, cringe worthy moments and some scorching hot chemistry. I especially loved all of the side characters in this book, I can’t wait for more of this series! I especially hope Tacker gets a book soon!
Bishop by Sawyer Bennett
3.5*
Bishop is the first book in Bennett’s new Arizona Vengeance series. I was extremely excited about a new series of hockey players as I’d given up on the Cold Fury series after they got repetitive and formulaic. I thought I was in for more of the same when I started reading Bishop but it did get better.
Bishop is a member of the expansion team and on the night before the first day, hits the town and meets the lucky Brooke who is also down for an unforgettable one night stand. The go their separate ways the next day until they meet again in the Vengeance offices, with the coach barging in and witnessing Bishop’s hand on his daughters ass. Brooke thinks the best course of action is to lie to her dad and confesses that she and Bishop are engaged - in order to protect Bishop from her fathers wrath on and off the ice.
This book was..... ok for me. I liked the characters well enough though in all honesty, I liked the side characters more than the H and h, except for Nanette who is in a special league of her own. My problem is that I almost feel like Bennett’s books are becoming a little predictable but I can’t stop myself from wanting to read them. She writes great sports romances (Off series, anyone?!) but the Cold Fury left a bad taste and I’m not sure where I stand with this one. I did like it, but it was just ok. Not fantastic or great. I am definitely looking forward to the books for the other characters we met here, particularly Tacker.
*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

I enjoy a hockey romance, and this is the first of a new series by Sawyer Bennett. I have previously read her Cold Fury hockey series. It was ok, but not great. The setting is well developed but the central conflict of the couple was ridiculous. The entire plot could have been resolved in a single adult conversation. I also felt like the teammates that were introduced had very little development, with the exception of one.
Bishop is the first book in the Arizona Vengeance series. Bishop gets transferred to the new expansion team from New York and hooks up with the beautiful woman at a bar the night before his first practice. When it turns out Brooke is the coaches' daughter, lies galore ensue in order to hide their hook up from him. The book was a good read but the "villain" in the story was an unnecessary distraction from their love story. The end also felt very rushed and incomplete. Overall, it's a fun pool read... 4 chilli peppers! Thanks Loveswept and NetGalley for this ARC
Bishop and Brooke! Fake romance! Hot sex! Virtual strangers! Things come together (no pun intended ) and a disaster waiting to happen takes a turn. Then another. I love the story and the characters. I recommend this book!

Bishop by Sawyer Bennett is the first in a new series. Like the Cold Fury Series, this series also revolves around a professional hockey team, The Arizona Vengeance. I really enjoyed Cold Fury. This series is stacking up to be just as good.
Bishop has just been traded to the Arizona Vengeance. After a night out in a new city, he meets Brooke. The two hit off right away and decided to make a night of it. Both thought that it was just one night and neither of them expect to see each other again. The following day, Bishop spots Brooke at the offices for the Vengeance. He finds out not only does Brooke work there but she is his new head coach’s daughter. Somehow they end up embroiled in fake engagement that quickly spirals out of control.
Although I’ve read books with this premise before, I thought Sawyer Bennett found a way to put a fresh spin on it. Bishop was a very sweet, decent guy (loved the relationship he had with his mom). Brooke was very sweet as well and just wanted to look out for her dad. I thought they made a perfect match. I really enjoyed this one and can’t wait for the next installment.
What a great start to the new Arizona Vengeance series! Bishop was an easy and entertaining sports romance that I devoured. The fake fiance trope is always fun, and Bishop and Brooke's story is no exception. What starts out as a one night stand, snowballs into a fake relationship, until the lines between make believe and reality blur.
Bishop evolves a great deal through the book. He starts as the typical manwhore professional athlete (ugh), but what emerges as he spends more time with Brooke is someone much more sweet and thoughtful. Rest assured though that he still maintains his cocky attitude and is a pure alpha in the bedroom. I really liked Brooke and how loving and career driven she was, but I did wish that she wouldn't have been so naive when it came to her supposed "friends". I think what I liked best about the book though was that there was no unnecessary drama between Bishop and Brooke. All the angst was external and allowed Brooke and Bishop to not get caught up in misunderstandings or miscommunications. They were a united front. Yes, the main drama in the book seemed to just drop into the story, but it was still an entertaining and blood boiling addition. I just wish that there would have been more resolution to that part of the story. The book also ends a little abruptly, but since I know that more books are coming in the series, I wasn't too heartbroken to not see an epilogue.
I'm really excited for all the stories to come from this new cast of characters. There were many personalities introduced in Bishop, from other Vengeance players (seasoned and rookies) to a few people off the ice as well. Honestly, I can't wait to find out more about Tacker's heartbreaking past, but I'm also equally intrigued by GM Christian Rutherford, owner Dominik Carlson, and Bishop's BFF Dax. It looks like it will be a while before I see those stories though (if they do get books) since it appears the next 2 books in the series will feature Erik and Legend. It's going to be a amazing ride!

Sawyer has a hit on her hands.....Bishop and Brooke grab you from the beginning and don’t let you go. From the one night stand to the fake relationship (for her fathers sake) to the real feels and the happily ever after. I couldn’t put it down it was that good.
LOVE LOVE LOVED Bishop! It has crazy hot chemistry from the beginning and a great story line with some drama too! What starts out as a fake relationship turns into more.
Sweet baby Jesus...this book!
Bishop & Brooke have good time. They continue this good time in a very unconventional way.
God Bishop is such a dirty talking, organism giving stud...how can you not fall for him!
Brooke is a very independent, confident, daddies girl...which get's her and Bishop in a bit of a pickle.
This is a big pickle...a very big pickle that leads them into this crazy situation.
I loved this dirty, sexy, read and I can't wait for the rest of the series!

BISHOP is the first book in Sawyer Bennett’s new “Arizona Vengeance” series.; which is once again about a hockey team, which seems to be the author’s passion for a writing topic. Here we are following a new expansion team, the Arizona Vengeance, and starring has Bishop Scott and Brooke Perron here.
Bishop has moved to Phoenix, Arizona from New York for the new expansion team. At a bar the night before his first team meeting, he meets Brooke, who has also relocated recently from New York. One thing leads to another, and they end up having a one night stand. Of course, it turns out that they both work for Arizona Vengeance; and when they get caught by Brooke’s dad the coach in her office in an embrace, they end up getting themselves in a bad spot.
BISHOP has a nice romance and an interesting storyline. There are a few twists, a little bit of drama, and a lot of super sexy time. Fans of Bennett’s other hockey series will love it.
Cute. I love these hockey boys and the girls that find them liveable but I would want to punch Bishop...just saying...
