So I’m normally the first to say that I have a major weakness for Royal romances, but this one disappointed me a lot! Could I tell you where the fictional country is? No. Could I even understand the rules in this country? No. But the biggest one was- could I even understand the reason for the plot line? No. The only thing I liked were the characters.
.
Our hero is the son of a mobster and he himself is also one. Our heroine is daughter of the rivalling family, and has the major hits for the hero. Here’s where it starts to get weird- the hero’s father is actually in line to a throne now that his brother has died. But the other mob family wants their daughter on the throne so gets the hero to take the crown instead (HOW?!).
.
Arranged marriage is my jam and I liked that aspect of the story but everything else MADE NO SENSE AT ALL! You can’t just decide who is going to take the crown out of a pick of kids- he wasn’t even the first or second born! So mainly this just drove me insane for the entirety of the book.
4 Star Review Royally Arranged (Bad Boy Royals #3) by Nora Flite
Nora Flite is a new author to me.
I had no idea going in that this was book three in a series. Although it can be read as a stand alone I feel sure I would have enjoyed it more if I knew some background and history to the series as I was a little lost at times.
Even though their marriage is arranged for them, there was certainly some sizzling scenes between Thorne and Nova and the chemistry between them was obvious. It was interesting to watch their relationship develop; I liked Thorne and Nova separately and together.
I felt at times that the story dragged, but then that is probably just my opinion.
There was definitely romance within this story and it did not feel forced. Will Thorne and Nova learn to trust each other? Or will those you plot to betray them, destroy their relationship before it can solidify? You’ll have to one click and find out.
I received this arc book from the publishers in exchange for my honest review.
I hadn’t read the first two books and didn’t realize this was book 3. I loved that this wasn’t your typical Royalty book. Where somehow a prince falls in love with a nice girl who then becomes a princess.
This book was gritty in the sense that the Badds and Valentines were enemies since forever. It had a Romeo & Juliet feel. I loved Hawthorne very much and to have him all tattooed up? Heck ya.
I loved Nova also even though at times I wanted to just say Whyyy? When she put up with some of the stuff she let her family get away with.
But overall this was a really good book!
Royally Arranged
3.5 stars
I had a hard time connecting with the characters in the beginning, but I didn’t realize it was the third book in the series. Once I became more familiar with character names, the book came together pleasantly. The plot had many twists, some expected and some not expected. I was pleased with the ending and the happily ever after.
A beautiful, heartfelt, and lots of twists and turns that leaves your heart smiling at the end. Love Nova and Hawthorne’s story. This is the third book in the series and it can be read as a stand-alone.
Favorite quote: Costello to Hawthorne (brotherly advice) ~ “Love is love. It’s in your heart, it hold on like a tick in your flesh. It can bring you joy or ruin everything you hold dear.”
Everything in the book was interesting and the characters were perfect for each other
Won’t ruin anything for you guys
This was pretty good. Thorne was a middle son who did not get along with this father. Nova was the daughter of a very scheming family. They had no redeeming qualities. When Thorne's father's brother died, Thorne learned he had to become king of this country. This was not something he wanted to do, but no one really gave him a choice. The family dynamic was interesting and by the end of the book, you had hope that it would be improving. I loved that Nova and Thorne were in love, but had trouble expressing it. All and all, I enjoyed the book. I got this book from NetGalley for an honestt review
A very Badd boy marries the good girl daughter from the enemy family.
Thorne and Nova are both middle children, leaving them both with a bit of an identity crisis that Thorne expresses with a devil-may-care attitude while Nova prefers to hide in obscurity. Their families are sworn enemies, so even though they know *of* each other, there's no chance they'll ever know each other.
Until Thorne's uncle dies and the decades-old link between the two families is shockingly revealed. The playing field is ripe for a bloody takeover, and the only way to avoid that risk to his family is for Thorne to marry Nova to unite their feuding families.
I liked that the characters weren't all drawn with broad strokes. Not all of the good guys are entirely good; not all of the bad guys are entirely bad. Thorne and Nova have a refreshingly honest connection right from the start. Themes of family loyalty, trust, heritage, and sacrifice drive this story to a heartwarming, if not surprising, HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I enjoyed this book very much. It's book three in the series and finally gives us some answers about the Badd's background. Turns out Maverick Badd was heir apparent to the crown in Torino. Family strife caused him to flee his beloved homeland and the crown and forming a new life in the US. Now Maverick's brother, the current King, has passed away. Next in line for the throne? One of the wild Badd siblings! Let the fun begin.
This story is fun, sexy, and completely entertaining. The writing and characters are well done and developed. I definitely recommend it.
"Look at me,: he said, laying his weight over my body. "Watch my face. I want to see every eyelash of yours sway as I fuck you into oblivion."
Rating: 4.5/5
Steamy and passionate. Thorne & Nova's story reminded me of Romeo & Juliet - complete with rival families but no tragedy. Both families fight for the throne upon the King's death and arrange a marriage between their two children who end up falling in love but the conspiracy of Nova's family leads to mistrust and betrayal. Can their love overcome their family rivalry?
- Characters -
I absolutely adored Nova's innocence and youth. Her bravery and optimism allows Thorne to open his heart to her despite having the crappy laid out plans their families arranged for them. Thorne's character has the broodiness you'd expect from a middle child and I loved how he treasured her and saw her for who she was vs. who her family is.
- Setting/World -
Modern day as expected but I loved how the author incorporated Romeo & Juliet's atmosphere including the location. I felt like I was seeing Torino with my own eyes and watching a live broadcast. I immersed myself into the country, fighting for justice and for peace along with the townspeople.
- Writing -
Ms. Flite knows how to write a smutty novel! Full of angst and sexy as hell, I could NOT put this down. The writing was so descriptive that as I mentioned, I felt I was there in person. I was constantly rooting for Thorne and Nova and for them to finally outwit the scheming that I almost tore my hair out. It was so well-written that you definitely do not need to read the previous books to still understand the rivalry.
I HIGHLY recommend this! I have never found a "retelling" of Romeo & Juliet to my liking, but this blew it out of the park.. no stadium! The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 was the opening chapter - I felt that it wasn't needed and actually took away from Thorne's character, making him appear very shallow upon reuniting with Nova in Torino.
"The only good thing you ever did was make her."
A big thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I did not realize this was the third book in a series until after I finished the book. So I must say it reads well as a stand alone. I have mixed emotions about the book. I sort of liked it, but thought it was slow. I dislike This New family and Really disliked Nora's family!! Geez horrible treatment of their daughter. The story is interesting and very convoluted and has some violence. I liked Nora and Thorne (although Thorne was a little whinny). I enjoyed the ending. I give this a 3.5 rating. I think if you like some intrigue and reading about royal this may be your cup of tea.
Nora Flite writes another great book that keeps you turning the pages. This book about Nova and Hawthorne and the battle between their families for the crown. They both come from families with long standing feuds and their father’s are trying to settle this with a marriage. But will it be theirs? They both have an Uncle pass away in a foreign land and they go to visit it and not know all that is going to arise while their. I really enjoyed Nova and Thorne’s story. It was like a different version of the old family feud love story. The story has a lot of twist and turns you don’t expect. I liked all the characters in this book.
I’m not sure where to start with this book. Although I suppose I will start with this. Out of the 3 it is my favorite.
Definetly kept me wanting more and hoping that they came out on top with everything but the kitchen sink being thrown at them.
Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down.
I can’t get enough of this series hopefully there is more to come!
Hawthorne “Thorne” Badd enjoyed a reckless lifestyle but it has all ended with the death of his uncle. His father has hidden the fact that he was from a royal family and now Thorne must take the thrown and marry a daughter from a rival family. Whether he wants or not.
Nova Valentine fell in love with Thorne on their first meeting. Not that he ever noticed her. Nova will do whatever her family asks of her and it is no hardship to be the one Thorne has chosen. Chemistry between them is electric.
When old rivalries flare up they must chose family or each other and with an entire country is at stake it’s not an easy decision to make.
This book was a slow burn for me. I initially walked away from it as I could not connect with the story. It is more American mafia than royalty. I returned to it as I felt I had to finish it to give an honest review. I’m glad I did after the first few chapters the story becomes much more interesting and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the main characters and the romance between them was steamy and realistic. I would recommend it. Stick with it as the first few chapters aren’t interesting but it’s worth it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. For more reviews please visit my blog:

Warning this is the 3rd book in a series. I love enemies to lovers tropes. Characters are fun and developed. Nova wants love, respect, and marriage. While Thorne never thought he'd be in charge. Opposites "forced" to marry makes for a good time!
With the death of his estranged uncle, Hawthorne "Thorne" Badd's life as he knows it is about to dramatically change. The royal duty that his family has always kept hidden is now something they need to step up and fulfill... and it somehow falls on Thorne's shoulders to do his part by marrying into their greatest enemies family...
Nova Valentine's family has spend a very long time plotting and planning to gain royal power. When they decide that their continued truce with the Badd family hinges on her or her sister marrying into it, she can only hope that the man whom she has been obsessing over since they first met picks her as his future bride...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nova has been through a lot since the first time she met Thorne and she all but blended into the background. Deciding to be more adventurous and refusing to let life pass her by, when she and Thorne instantly connect upon reuniting, she isn't going to let their attraction fizzle out without acting on it first.
Thorne is viewed as the joker of his family, who never takes anything seriously. With his contentious relationship with his father and the future of a country now sitting firmly on his shoulders, it's time for Thorne to do some maturing... and fast.
While I loved the plot in this book, I had trouble connecting with the characters, and some aspects of the story. Although I enjoy fiction, this story was a little too farfetched and underdeveloped for me to truly love it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review on NetGalley - that being said, I didn't realize that this was the first in a series as there was no number three attributed to the title.
However, this book this book immediately gave me a star crossed lovers vibe. Two enemy families made me immediately jump to a Romeo and Juliet-esque mindset. The Badd family are in hiding and are enemies of the Valentines. Thorne chooses Nova over her sister as part of an arranged marriage that will bring an end to the feuding. It felt familiar.
The ultra romantic language Thorne uses was a bit much at times - the descriptions seemed out of place for a male character to be commenting on.
However, it was cute. Come on! Romance? Royals? That's always a fun, good time. Give it a read. It was a solid 3/5 for me.
Nova and Thorne’s chemistry was something that was in complete opposition to the fighting both of the families seemed focused on. Thorne never expected how far his life would change and he was the last one to hear about all those pesky little details. He was attracted to Nova the second time he saw her. She held him captive and he was anxious to know more about this stunning superhero. She would remain by his side and provide him with whatever he needed. Great continuation of the series with characters that fight for what they want while making the changes that are so desperately needed.
Once again this author has wrote a fantastic book and I really enjoyed it thank you for my arc I will look forward to reading more from you from you
Finally got to read Thorne’s story. I have really enjoyed getting to know each member of the Badd family and them falling in love.
I like how each book ties in the previous one in the story and history. Can’t wait to see which Badd family member falls in love next.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
