While I greatly appreciate the opportunity from netgalley and the publisher to read this book, I didn’t really connect with it. The guy was kind of jerky and not really my type of character. It became more of a skim for me.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read and review one of your titles. Unfortunately, this title didn’t work for me and I have chosen not to review it.
Please also let me extend my apologies for this being so incredibly late (as I am guessing it’s more than obvious I didn’t review at this point) as I like to hold negative or DNF reviews until a title is no longer available on NetGalley, and sometimes posting once it has been archived slips my mind.
Once you finish Even Money, you're going to one hundred percent need the next book. Alessandra Torre takes you on a rollercoaster in this book but you won't want to get over!
Alessandra always gives me what I want in a book. This was no exception. The surprise in this book is all I can and will say! Just damn! Read it ASAP!
I'm a huge fan of A. Torre but this book was not a fav of mines. I can't get past the cheating in this book and the fact that the female character is so much younger (although legal) than the male. I understand her reasons but I couldn't get into this book.
Really enjoyed this book, very interesting, kept my attention didn’t want to put it down. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2
Two things right off the bat..
I’ve never been to Vegas.
I’ve never read Alessandra Torre
I’m not quite sure why both things have never happened but I’m glad I at least fixed one of those! The blurb alone had me intrigued and I’m glad I took a chance!
I was in awe of the story. I was captivated by Bell & Dario’s story and how the two fell for each other immediately. The backstory was something I was not expecting, it was emotional and complicated. Bell & Dario’s chemistry and sexual attraction was beyond expectation and had me fully invested in their story.
I truly thought I knew exactly where the ending of this book was going..was I ever wrong! It was one of the best I’ve read in quite a long time and I read a ton of books!
I can’t wait for the second book!! Alessandra Torre has a new fan!
Now...to get to Vegas...
I am a big fan by this author and this book once again of this authors amazing writing. This story had amazing characters with really steamy moments throughout the story. This was story that I could not put down from the very first page.
My very first Alessandra Torre book and I wasn't sure what to expect with it, but boy was I caught up in this story of forbidden love and lust between a powerful casino owner and a cocktail waitress. I was a little thrown off by the speed of their relationship, almost in a sense it was borderline instalove but I couldn't stop reading. I need book 2 ASAP!
I am a huge fan of this author so, reading this was a joy!!! Mrs. Torre knows how to write complex characters and this is no exception ! I loved it!
All I have to say is WOW! What an amazing plot twist!! Even Money started out as a slow-burn romance which is unusual for Alessandra Torre. However the more I read the book, the better understanding I had as to why Dario and Bell couldn't be together immediately. They definitely had some steamy and lustful encounters leading up to the climax so to speak and trust me it was well worth the wait. The plot concept is different in very good way. I really liked how she thought outside the box with this one.
Dario is a rich, successful and powerful man who is practically the king of Vegas. And as the blurb for Even Money says, he meets Bell, a cocktail waitress who literally brings him to his knees. I really liked Dario and he's a very intriguing character who peeked my curiosity. He's quite loveable and I love his white knight persona. I enjoyed the way he pursued Bell and he wasn't going to let anything or anyone deter him from having her. I absolutely loved Bell's character. She's bold, confident and strong. I don't think she realizes how much strength and power she has within. I loved how she owns her sexuality and sexual prowess.
Alessandra Torre never disappoints when it comes to writing sex scenes. They are panty melting, sizzling and I definitely fanned myself more than a few times when reading these scenes.
All I can say is the ending is unpredictable and I need the second book ASAP!!
Awesome book!! Loved every minute of it! Once you start reading this book you won’t want to put it down. You will not be disappointed with this one.
Even Money is the first part in the All In Duet series. This books filled with drama, mystery, and passion. Alessandra’s writing style is phenomenal. Definitely should pick this one up.
The drama in the book kept me captured and riveted. The only feedback I have is about reading what the people in Louisiana were saying. That is where my family is from and understanding was difficult for me and that is where I was raised for part of my life.
Again another simply must read by a phenomenal author. She makes you forget you're reading a book and transports you into the lives of her characters. Just fantastic.
Even Money is the firstpart of the All In Duet series and have a bit of a cliffhanger. Bell and Dario wants to be together but it is at high risk for them both. They have to be careful and they pay for their wants.
Even Money is very fast paced and has drama, danger, mystery, intrigues and passion in it. I like the twists and turns. I would at some places wanted more depth to the story but I liked it anyway because of the mix of romance, passion and steamy scenes. Chemistry could have been more convincing.
Story flows well of the pages and is rather captivating at times. I enjoyed this read.
I love Alessandra Torre's books and this one was no different. However I did find that there were a few issues with this book. I didnt particularly like that he stalked her, I liked the way he was with her, but didn't like him as a whole. Definitely a little over zealous. Her.... she was so swishy washy I like him... I dont like him... umm she just wasnt my favorite. I felt like insta love just isn't my favorite thing.
This book was alright, however I didn't really like the premise and the guy was sort of a jerk. Also, they didn't really seem to have an actual connection other than they found each other attractive. Both characters were quite annoying. I did however like the ending of the book which was more fast-paced and the cliffhanger made me want to see how it all turned out in the second book of the series.
When I saw the first book on NetGalley I had to request it, obviously, and I was really happy when they approved me. I started it right away and let me tell you that I devoured it. I was hooked up from the first line and it didn’t let me go until I reached the end. And I loved it for this. So, once I finished it I needed the second one, I seriously needed it, like physically needed to know how the story would end, so, obviously again, I requested the second book and you know what? They approved me for that one, too! I did a really long happy dance, downloaded it and devoured it. Again. Yep, they are that good.
The story is intriguing, captivating and fast-paced. And even if these books are really fast reading, we can find a lot in these pages: friendship, love, hardship, hurt, adventure, happiness, and steaminess (is this even a word?) all wrapped up in the shining nocturnal world of Las Vegas. But the really great things about this books are the characters and their relationship, not just the romantic ones, but all of the different relationships that we can find in them. For example, I really loved the relationship between Bell and her parents, even if there is a lot of baggage here, and I loved the relationship between Bell, again, and Rick and Lance, her work’s bosses.
And Bell and Dario are quite unique. I loved them both, Bell because she’s real, and she’s a strong-minded young woman. She hadn’t had an easy life, but she managed to create a new life for herself. It’s true, it’s not perfect and she has some issues, but she’s doing great and she stays true to herself from the start to the end of the story, and it’s a thing that I really appreciated.
And then we have Dario… oh my! Sexy, mind-blowing Mister Dario Capece. The big man in Las Vegas who seems like he can’t keep away from his obsession. Again, Oh My!
He’s an alpha-man, so if you’re not in the mood for them, maybe you should skip this reading. But let me tell you, that I am not a big fan of them, to be honest. I like a bit of “alpha” yes, but I am not a big fan when they start to think like big troglodytes and I don’t close an eye on them. Some of them are criminal in the way they treat women and I am not so prone to ignore the fact, but I am happy, really happy, to say to you that this is not the case. He’s an alpha male and he has some stalker moments, yes, but it’s not the troglodyte type, yay! He’s also a correct person, he tries to do his best for every person dear to him, and I appreciated it a lot. He’s also passional and sexy as hell. Sorry, not sorry!
Also, here we have a “love at first sight” trope, and again I am not a big fan of this trope, but I liked it and it didn’t irk me during the reading. So yay again!
Anyway, Torre’s characters are all unique, some of them are quite borderline or outright psycho, some of them are wonderful human being, but all of them are well developed and amazing. I loved these books, both of them, and I devoured them both because they hooked me up from the start and didn’t let me go.
This is the 4th Alessandra Torre book i've read and it was as exciting as the others but it felt it was lacking compared to her Deanna Maddon/Girl in the 6E series. I liked the main characters of Bell and Dario in the later but i felt that the way Dario 'interest' went a bit too far and verged on creepy. The setting up of the relationship was the bit the let the book down. I'm interested in seeing how the duology finishes given the cliffhanger it finishes on but it's not a must read series for me.
