The night after a snowstorm Ellie scolds Sunny for her lack of clothing as she is only wearing an apron. Sunny is making breakfast for them. Ellie goes to get the newspaper where she discovers a half frozen cat in the snow. She picks it up and brings the cat into the house calling Sunny to help her with it. After warming up the cat, they go to a nearby vet to have the cat looked at. The vet tells them, they need to leave the cat with her so she can heal the cat. Do Eileen and Sunny do that? The vet finds a chip under the cat’s skin that gives only a street address. Ellie and Sunny decide to go to the address to tell the owner where the cat is. Finding the owner in a factory (that is the address), the owner demands the cat be brought to her. She insists that one of them stay while the other goes to get the cat. The vet fights the girl on the cat leaving as it is still recovering. Will she get the cat to it’s owner? Why does the owner want the cat back?

The author has written a mystery that kept me wanting to know what was going to happen to the girls and the cat. The novel is written well and the characters were well described making them seem realistic. It’s a story that is a part of the Team Girl Adventure series. This is my first exposure to this series and am looking forward to reading more of the series.
