This was such a cute and uplifting reading. The characters are fleshed out, the emotion is poignant and the heat is packed in tight and non-stop. Light and quick read I would recommend.
I had not read the previous books in this series, but I had no problem getting into the story at all. This one can be read as a stand alone with no problem at all.
The book was HOT & STEAMY! It was also well-written with great characters. It had drama and emotion and wonderful romance. Did I mention that it was hot and steamy? Deliciously so! Loved the book! I'm going to be reading more from this author.
Clover finally got what she wanted. Admiring Van Gogh for so long and finally taking steps to get what she wanted took a turn that changed her life forever.
it was a fun read that had me hooked. This was a first book from the author and from the series. I really liked it and will pick up the rest of the series.
Tina Donahue delivers another scorching hot story with Wicked Design. If you like your stories to melt your Kindle, then be prepared for all the sexiness this story will bring you. Have a fan handy!!
I'm sorry to say that this book wasn't a winner for me :(. I didn't connect with either character, and Clover's actions and behavior seemed to have done a 180 the night of the dinner at her apartment.
I could not finish this book. I didn't even get to 50%. The characters were a huge turnoff. And when I skipped to read the ending I'm glad because it seems like I would have hated reading an entire book dealing with Van, his issues, and how he acts due to those.
Literally did not even finish this book, or even get halfway through it. I thought I would give it a try, because the story sounded interesting. But it just fell pretty flat. I will say that I absolutely loved the cover for this one, gorgeous!
Another hot wicked story by Ms. Donahue. Good plot building and follow-thru. I liked how the story progressed. Hot in all the right places.
After reading another book in this series I was intrigued by this one; however I was left incredibly disappointed. First off, I couldn't relate to either character. I mean, sure of course everyone has had a crush on someone who she thinks doesn't notice them. It was no surprise that Van Gogh had actually noticed Clover but was too shy do anything about it. I was interested right up until he went to have dinner in her apartment.
Come on?!?!?!
That night seemed to have come out of left field; Clover's character in the apartment seemed a direct contrast to her character in the ink shop. All Van Gogh could do was wine which was a huge turn off.
This was a nice book. But, it was full of contraditions.
First of all, Clover was raised in a nudist colony and was super duper ok with stripping her clothes in her first date, but she was super afraid to talk to Van Gogh.
And Van Gogh, could have been a sweet guy, but he was just a whiny boy, who couldn´t stop complaining about how much he was bullied by his peers as a child and as a teen.
I know some people are bullied, and it seems to be a huge problem in american culture, but his complaining just felt like too much.
Clover has a serious case of the hots for tattoo artist, Van Gogh. But she can't get him to notice her until she climbs into his chair--and then on top of him.
Clover is relentless in her pursuit of the sweet, shy Van Gogh--it was almost a bit overwhelming at times. Also, sometimes they were a bit awkward together.
Generally, the characters were likeable and the angst is minimal. But I just wasn't that interested in the story or felt they had any real chemistry. Overall, it was a 2.5 for me.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.
wicked design is the latest book in the wicked brand series. tattoo artist van gogh is painfully shy. and uninhibited clover has no boundaries or ability to close her open heart to the world.
this is what makes her so special and perfect for van gogh in every way. she loves fully, wholly. and from the get-go she is all-in on van gogh and their relationship.
when she tries to being van gogh out of his shell, she loses him for a bit. and actually, he deserves to be dumped on his ass for his douchey behavior. but clover is loving and forgiving and van gogh is genuinely repentant and proves that he will put her first the way she puts him first.
so all's well that ends well.
**wicked design will publish on june 18, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (scorched) in exchange for my honest review.
Wicked Design by Tina Donahue is the story of Clover and Van Gogh (V) and also a part of the Wicked Brand series. Although you can easily make this a standalone book I do feel it helps to read the previous books first.
Clover has feelings for Van Gogh but she feels that he doesn't even know that she is around. But really Van Gogh is just not confident enough to act on the feels he is having for her...because he does know she alive. When they do end up having a hot encounter it leads to more hot encounters but while doing all the hot and heavy stuff they have to stop and start to really learn more about the other person.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and seeing how their story came to be.
V is a tattoo artist, a very shy tattoo artist and Clover is a Jewellery maker and really likes V, this is a romantic, sweet story that kept me reading.
I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
Superb story by Tina Donahue. This is my favorite so far in the series. Clover and Van Gogh are both artists. She has been ogling after him for a year and he was completely oblivious to that due to him being shy. Clover was so supportive of him, it was good to read. He did behave like a jerk at some point but he came through for her at the end and it was beautiful.
Thanks for the ARC for an honest review that's my own.
torn - 3.5 Stars

I thought I remembered reading a book similar to this one. In fact, I could have sworn that this was a part of the series. However, I was wrong. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am torn.
On one hand I appreciate the hard work the author put in. The story development and flow was good. Maybe too good because the energy surrounding Clover is crazy. She reminded me of someone who had attention deficit because I found myself reading super fast whenever she was in the scene.
Everything she did was fast, including damn near attacking the poor guy she wanted, Van Gogh. If I was him, I would have taken off! LOL
But he did hang in there and they were good together. Their connection was like a spark of energy, burning fast and furious. It was almost exhausting.
Overall, the story was sweet and sexy, with flashes of fun. Clover was a hit and miss for me. She intrigued me in some ways, but in others, not so much. Van Gogh was sweet but gullible. But we did get a lovely HEA.
Clover and Van Gogh (V) are two strong, enchanting characters that stole my heart, both vulnerable and courageous, both shy and daring, both immensely sexual and playful. They were easily related and drew me in and refused to let go until I had read every part of their story, some of which was sweet, some was so hot that flames were pouring from the pages and some was heart breaking, so the story made me feel a whole lot of different emotions throughout the story including some chuckles. Not many romances show the male heroine as vulnerable as this romance does and I it was also very realistic with the situations and events that took place, especially how someone not used to attention and suddenly getting it might react and behave.
Tina Donahue always brings her wonderful characters and delightful world to vivid life, so visiting with the characters of Wicked Brand is always a treat, but I might just have to say that Wicked Design is my favorite of the series. And let me tell you that I could definitely picture the ink, that V wore and the jewelry that Clover made, so I am wondering if cuffs like Clover Cuffs really exist.
These two artists use different genres to express their talent. Ones a tattoo artist the other makes edgy jewelry. After a year of admiring each other and not only for their art, they finally hook-up. And find their deft attention to detail takes their sexual encounter to a level neither has experienced before. It's definitely wicked. They are both striving for acceptance in the art world. When Van's ego gets stroked he pushes Clover aside. Will they once again make beautiful art together? Read this unconventional romance and see for yourself.
Thanks for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.
Nice cover, title, but the blurb is what grabbed me.
Clover is a nice artistry girl who likes a hot tattooed guy, raised in a nudist colony Clover knows how to shed clothes but her methods to make Van Gogh notice her go unchecked.
Van Gogh comes from a rich back ground but he's never been accepted for the artist that he is. He has an ugly ducklings persona he can't seem to shed and just wants to be liked. Painfully shy though he can draw beautiful 3 D tattoos and is the best artist at Wicked Ink.
I liked the innocent way the characters are drawn, and the subtle way V loses himself wanting people to like him. The two have some serious chemistry and I thought the idea of these two getting together was beautiful. I gave it five stars for entertainment. I like it and enjoyed the book.
