A sweet contemporary love story about two people finding their way through the tough times.
Alex had a change of plans when her Air Force pilot fiancee was killed in a crash. Now, she's just trying to hold it together.
Jake, a victim of a undiagnosed learning disability, battles the feelings lingering from childhood. His friends,TJ and Dean, were the only reason he got through school because of their unfailing support. He fights his attraction to Alex because she is Dean's little sister.
When she takes some time off to travel with Jake in their promo RV things heat up.
Jake gives Alex his support and asks for nothing in return, slowly healing her heart with his steadfast care....and she falls in love with the man known as a playboy, a man who feels unworthy of love.
Written with humor and insights, you get drawn into the story and root for the pair to get together .....and enjoy the steamy and emotional passages.
I requested and received a NetGalley Arc and highly recommend this series.

Alexis just lost her husband to be a week before they were to be married. She has dealt with much loss in her life already - she lost both her parents when she was younger and was raised by her older bother and his wife. She is afraid of losing another loved one again, which makes it hard for her to give her heart to another person completely (she feels). She and her brother's business partner become close - the two of them converse through social media for the year she is stationed in Europe. She comes home ready to start her new life (while still thinking about her lost love, Nathan). She realizes after she decides to go on a business trip with Jake (the business partner of her brother) that she has really started to care for the man. He has been named a player - going from one woman to another while the road promoting their business. On this new trip he realizes that he does not want to live this way anymore. He has developed deep feelings for Alexis - but does not want to crowd / force her into a relationship due to her past losses. Alexis finds out 3 weeks later that the two of them are about to be parents. They go through the slow process of becoming a family. A very cute story - once you get through the first 50 % of the story.

Last/almost last(?--I'm guessing John's going to get at least a novella) of the series, and just as good as the rest of them. <3 <3

Oh my is the first thing that comes to mind. This is a very emotional heart felt read. Make sure you have a lot of Kleenex by your side. But it is totally worth it. A wonderful can’t put it down read.

3.5 Stars...
Maybe for You is, in parts, an emotional story. Alex and her fiancé Nathan were in the military and due to get married, unfortunately he was killed in a helicopter accident just before the wedding, which understandably is heartbreaking and life altering. Dean is Alex's brother who owns a distillery in Kansas with his two best friends, TJ and Jake. As the story begins, Alex is preparing to leave for Italy to do a tour for the military so she can get away from the memories, and hopefully clear her head after losing her fiancé, so she decides to attend a party at her brothers distillery before she leaves, which is where she meets Jake. Alex and Jake become texting buddies while she is away, and the two become very good friends, she confides in him with her feelings, fears and milestones she makes while in Italy. When she returns is where the friendship becomes complicated.

I found this story to be pretty good in the beginning, but after awhile of Alex's insecurities and whining, it became just irritating. Top that with Jake all of a sudden having issues with his past, (which came out from left field) I started to lose interest in the characters because of the continual complaining about insecurities. I get that the loss of someone close is difficult to deal with at times, but to start throwing in other "issues" from her past, then Jakes, it became redundant, whinny, and didn't add anything to the story. I didn't care for the way Alex reacted to the situation she and Jake ended up with, completely turned me off, then topped off with more unfounded complaining that just leaves you with a really bad taste in your mouth. Loved the premise of the book, it was the "stuff" in the middle and beyond that turned this into a how much longer is this going to go on so we can move on and get to the heart of the story. I think the book could have been 75 - 100 pages shorter, might have made it a bit easier on the story and to get through without as much unfounded drama. Book was just so so for me.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book

Maybe For You by Nicole McLaughlin is a fabulous contemporary romance. Ms. McLaughlin has once again delivered a book that will keep readers glued to their e-readers from start to finish. Alex's soon to be husband died just weeks before they were to be married. She deployed to her next assignment but stayed in contact with her one of her brother's partners. Jake is part owner of Stag and helps Alex with her grief through messages while she is deployed. Alex and Jake's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and will have you riding an emotional see-saw. I enjoyed reading Maybe For You and look forward to reading more from Nicole McLaughlin. Maybe For You is book 3 of the Whiskey and Weddings Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was so touched by this book. The sentiment is so lovely and uplifting. This was in complete juxtaposition to the graphic sex, which I had to skip over. It would have been perfect without the coarseness as opposed to the lovely intimacy.

Maybe for You by Nicole McLaughlin is the 3rd book in her wonderfully fun Whiskey and Weddings series.
Alexis (Alex) Parker, our heroine, is tough, sweet, independent, and very vulnerable, due to having a tragic year. She is the sister of Dean (one of the Stag distillery owners & previous hero), who helped raise her after their parents died. We remember Alex when she was happily planning her wedding, until she tragically lost her fiancée. Alex is determined to finish her military duties, accepting a year in Italy to help her get over her grief.
Jake Cooper, is one of the owners, and the marketing expert as well as the playboy of the group. He does the promotion, and as he travels to sell their product, he is known for his womanizing ways. Jake is a good guy, and he knows Alex is Dean’s sister, which means she is off limits, but a friendship builds as they become pen pals during her year away.

When the year is over, Alex returns home to her brother and friends, hoping to find a job. No one is happy that she plans to take one far away, as they all care about her, including Jake. Alex needs to be free, and asks Jake to take her when he goes on his next tour for the company sales.

What follows is a slow built romance between two people, who in many ways were so different. Alex was still in her grief over losing her fiancée, and Jake was never interested in a permanent relationship, not to mention he needed to not become involved with Dean’s sister. During their trip, they become even closer, with their attraction to each other making it difficult to not act on their feelings. When they finally succumb to their lust, they both agree to enjoy their temporary fling. When they return home Jake knows he has fallen in love with Alex, and though she cares about him, she still lives with her guilt of betraying her fiancée, even if he is dead. Things will take a turn when a surprise happens, which will eventually move toward their HEA. I really did enjoy the epilogue.

Nicole McLaughlin did a beautiful job bringing both of them together; so well done, as I loved every moment. It was great to see the previous book characters, who we loved, such as Dean, Charlotte, Jen and TJ. Maybe For You was a fun, sweet, entertaining story, as well as emotional and heartwarming. I loved Alex and Jake together, as their romance was fun and sexy, with their chemistry off the wall. Whiskey and Weddings is an enjoyable and fun series that you should be reading. I suggest you start with the first book, Maybe I Do.

I loved this story and hated for it to end. Alexis and Jake have great chemistry. I loved all of the characters. I felt like I knew them all. The story was well written. I will definitely read more from this Author.

This is an achingly sweet and heartwarming story. Jake is a sweet, adorable and special guy. Alex is a smart, stubborn and vulnerable woman. They developed a friendship while she was overseas mourning her dead fiance, then progressed to lovers on a work road trip. And while he starts to have feelings for her, she is so focused on moving forward that she refuses to even consider having any type of relationship with him. An unexpected twist turns their lives upside down and has him fighting to keep her. This is the second book that I have read by this author, and I love that the men have personally issues that they overcome, and are the sweetest guys with huge hearts. I definitely recommend adding this series to your TBR list.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

If you enjoy a heart tugging and feel good modern love story this is a book you will not want to miss. A heart broken young lady, whose intended is killed in a crash, returns home after a year spent in Italy on assignment with the Army. After a two week business trip, with one of her brother's business partners, who has become her very best friend by way of messenger, she finds she is pregnant. More than that I will not say. I highly recommend this book for the emotional value alone.

I have rated this book 5 stars.

I received an ARC from Netgalley for my unbiased review.

Alex lost her parents and was raised by her brother, she joins the Army and dates an Air Force pilot, weeks before they’re to get married he is killed. She goes to stay with her brother Dean before she ships off to Italy for a year. While gone she gets close to Jake, part owner of the Stag distillery along with his best friend TJ and Dean, Alex’s brother. When she returns she tells them she’ll be leaving in November to take a job with the CIA. Jake is about to go on a two week tour with the Stag Wagon. He goes to bars, and festivals and tries to get companies to stock their alcohol. Alex decides to go with him. They were already close but this trip brings them closer. Then they figure why not have a fling until they get back home. Alex still misses her fiancé but is taking life one day at a time. When they return home Jake realizes he loves her but can she get over her dead fiancé to start living again?
You’ll laugh, cry, and need a cold shower after this story. It will break your heart at times but is so good you won’t be able to stop reading it until the end. Great characters and a woman who has had more tragedy than one person should. A handsome man with a sweet streak a mile wide.
