This is an excellent book following Daisy as she searches for the right man in her life. Well worth reading. I received this book free from Thomas Nelson and Net Galley for my honest review.
I was drawn by the cover. It is beautiful. I love a good clean romance. I love a well written story with likeable characters who draw me into the story. I really loved this book.
Fans of Denise Hunter books will enjoy a return to Blue Ridge. Even if you've never read a book by Denise Hunter or this particular series, the book can stand-alone. Meet Pastor Jack and various members of his congregation, but especially quirky, lovable Daisy. As Pastor Jack tries to figure out a way to become more than "just" Daisy's pastor, Daisy has to learn how to accept people, flaws and all, and how to forgive. This is a fun, enjoyable book about small-town life, families, romance, and forgiveness. Another fantastic book by Denise Hunter!
I thought On Magnolia Lane was a sweet and easy read. I appreciated the characters and the way the story unfolded. The story highlights that things in life, especially where family and love are involved are rarely simple or black and white. Daisy in particular has to learn this lesson throughout as she comes to grips with the complexities of life. While her struggles were frustrating to read at times I think they were also somewhat realistic and it was interesting to see how things played out and also how she matures as a person.
I thought Jack was quite adorable and was rooting for him the whole time. Mr Francis too, he and Karen were a cute side story. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This was an enjoyable romance between a preacher and one of his constituents. Jack has loved Daisy forever but she has never seen the man until she really needs him for a personal issue and she feels she can only confide in him.
Meanwhile Jack's love for Daisy is the worst kept secret so his friends create an online profile for him on a website that Daisy is on and they start being online pals. So when Daisy falls for both Jack and her online friend she has no idea who she likes more?
This was an enjoyable romance. It had a little bit more religion than I would have preferred. It was well written. Has a lot of religion in it so be warned about that. It is also a very clean romance, as Jack is a preacher. It is part of a series but stands alone easily.
ON MAGNOLIA LANE by DENISE HUNTER is a charming love story. It is actually a follow on from Honeysuckle Dreams, although the books do not need to be read in sequence.
It is the story of two people who both battle with a low self image, caused mostly by what happened when they were at school. The author is particularly good at making the reader feel the emotional struggles of her characters, which I really enjoy.
Daisy Pendleton, after having no dates for ages, joins a dating agency where she falls for TJ, with whom she carries on an online friendship. She also has feelings for her pastor, Jack McReady. So, from having no love life, she now has feelings for two men!
Daisy has a tendency to put those she loves on a pedestal until she is let down, first of all by her deceased father, then her mother, and eventually also by Pastor Jack. She learns from her grandmother that she needs to show grace towards those who have lied to her, and from Jack that God is the only One who will never let us down. It is a story of forgiveness and second chances. We also see how God can bring good out of even the most unfortunate circumstances.
It is an enjoyable read with a good Christian message.
I was given a free copy of the book by Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
This book was the perfect christian chick-lit read! Being easy to read, I immediately got drawn into the story line and loveable characters. Daisy who is such a endearing girl, has a stranger come into her flower shop one day and purchase flowers "for an old friend". Later, these flowers are found by her fathers grave and the story line follows Daisy finding out what this womens relationship with her father was. Her friend Jack is a great support to her throughout all of this and the other main story line is his love for Daisy and how he tries to express it.
Really enjoyed this clean romance story, if you are a lover of christian romance fiction then I highly recommend this book.

I loved this wonderful story. Daisy and Jack was sweet story. I love Denise's books thank you so much for the ARC
On Magnolia Lane is a sweet romance about a pastor and a lady in his congregation. I enjoyed reading the book and enjoyed it more and more toward the end. I love Denise Hunter's books. This one is also good but not one of my favorites. It is sweet but not as engaging as some of her books. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. I always anticipate and enjoy Denise Hunter’s latest releases. On Magnolia Lane was certainly no different. In fact, it may be my favorite of the Blue Ridge Romance series. The premise reminded me of Denise Hunter’s earlier book, Seaside Letters. While I do like books that explore deep emotions, I found it refreshing that Jack didn’t have any major life events to rehash or overcome. That said, I did wish we got to learn a little more about his background - a conversation with a sister in Minnesota or something similar thrown in. Overall, this is an enjoyable book and another great read from Denise Hunter.

Denise Hunter is fabulous at putting two individuals, a male and a female, into sticky situations and watch them work through their growing emotions. With her latest series, it really hasn't worked for me. The final book, On Magnolia Lane, has a pastor for a hero and a flower shop worker for the heroine. While the story centers around searching for their dreams and looking for love through the facade of a on-line dating service. While the story moves slowly along, I had a really hard time staying focused on the plot. I really couldn't wait for it to be over. Of course being a contemporary romance, the ending is completely predictable, leaving nothing for me to guess. It was nice to see a different type of hero, such as being a pastor. Most people probably don't think of pastors in the realm that Hunter created Jack, but they have emotions and the desired to be loved by members of the opposite sex too. As for Daisy, the heroine, I really saw no redeeming quality about her. She doesn't stick out to me as anything special. She's a pretty cardboard character to me.
Overall, On Magnolia Lane is a bland, yet predictable contemporary romance. I had a hard time diving into the character's lives and the story didn't wow me. Fans of Melissa Tagg, Becky Wade, and Hunter's previous' writings might still love this book, this is just my humble opinion.
I received a complimentary copy of On Magnolia Lane by Denise Hunter from Thomas Nelson Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
