Action, suspense and romance, A Deadly Business, is the third book in the Vigilance series and is everything I have come to enjoy from Ms Holt and more. Justin and Marissa are great character and the gripping storyline made this an amazing read. I look forward to reading many more books by this author

I got hooked on Holt's Vigilance series and eagerly awaited A Deadly Business. In this entry to the series, former CIA-operative Marissa changed her identity and now lives in Arrowhead Bay in order to escape retaliation from one of the world's most notorious criminals. Now, years later, her 'spider-sense' alerts her that visitors in her town know who she is. She alerts Vigilance, and they swiftly move her to an island to hide. Justin, an agent with Vigilance, has been attracted to Marissa for a while and now has the opportunity to move forward with a relationship.

That is, until the worst coincidence in the world happens and the man Marissa has been hiding from is actually on the island, getting his vengeance on former investors. Justin, Marissa, and a lone employee on the island work together to bring down the invaders who have created a bloodbath on the beautiful island.

I've read these books since the beginning of the series and each one has a strong female character and a hunk of a leading man. A Deadly Business delivers another breathtaking story, with tons of thrills, plenty of dangerous action, and a hot romance.

I am really enjoying this series! Justin & Marissa are both wonderful characters who are strong and capable making for a very smart and sexy read! They have such sizzling chemistry but will their intense attraction and passion continue once the danger passes or is it fueled by their situation?
This is such a great story with edge of your seat suspense and hot sexy times making it the perfect romantic suspense.

Marissa goes undercover as an accountant for the CIA to take down a man connected to terrorist. After three years they have most of what they need and her cover is blown. Now she’s been hiding in Arrowhead Bay for two years running an art gallery. Justin is a former SEAL and now works for Vigilance, a security business. He starts teaching Marissa kickboxing and falls for her but he doesn’t know about her past. When Marissa feels like she’s being watched, she finds out that the guy she took down knows where she’s at. So the owner of Vigilance send Marissa and Justin to a secluded island where only vetted people are allowed there. Justin goes as her bodyguard and the attraction is finally acted on. They’re relaxing and having sex all the time. Until someone shows up on the island, kills several of the guards, and holding most of the guest hostage in the restaurant. When Marissa sees it’s the man she went undercover to take down, she thinks he’s found her. He doesn’t even know she’s there, he’s after the men who left him when he was taken down. He wants all their money and will kill anyone who gets in his way. Marissa and Justin try to slow him down until a team can get there. But will the team get there in time?
Great story with plenty of action, suspense and sex. The characters are romantic and very good together. Needed a little more background on Justin. Will leave you on the edge of your seat.

A Deadly Business is the next gripping instalment in Desiree Holt’s Vigilance series and provides the same level of action, danger and intrigue as the previous books have. Justin and Marissa are wonderful characters, with strong personas and some serious chemistry to boot. And you’ve gotta love a really good bad guy; and Ms Holt definitely makes this one a stand out in his class. I’m looking forward to the next action-packed, edge of your seat addition to this thrilling series.

I really, really enjoyed the story in this book -the bad guy was just, so, bad, and colourful, he made it for me!

Marissa had her cover blown while working as a financial analyst for the CIA to take down a bad guy. She did get enough on said bad guy to take him down, but not all the way. She has been in hiding with Vigilance keeping her cover. Justin works for vigilance, and he and Marissa have been dancing around their attraction for a while. Once it looks like the bad guy has found her, Justin is the one to keep watch over her on a secluded caribbean island. Sparks fly between Justin and Marissa, and all is going well for them, then bad guy shows up and wreaks all sorts of havoc. Justin holds down the fort until vigilance can back them up, then, he and Marissa face the 'what if' of a holiday romance, queue the HEA :)

Wow, just wow! Deadly Business, is a real nail biter with some pretty sexy scenarios thrown in. I love this series.
