Doug was at a crossroad in his life after a beloved family member died. He saw his best friend slowly begin to drift away from life as he dealt with a promise that would provide endless torment. Getting TJ to take a chance he finally was able to give him purpose to live and see each new day. Rosie is no longer willing to wait and not take what she wants. So much time has passed where she was scared to take that first step. Well, everything has changed and one defining moment in your life can push you into achieving what you want. Great end of the series and I loved how it related to the other Compass series to tie it altogether.

Doug and TJ have been friends since they were kids. TJ had a tough life with his mom dying and having to take care of his abusive, alcoholic dad. Doug and his family provided an escape for him. Doug invites TJ to join him as a cameraman on a storm chasing team that he has participated in the last few years. TJ is reluctant, but goes along. He meets Rosie, a scientist and leader of the storm chasing team. He is attracted to her, but you also find he is attracted to Doug. Doug feels the same way. The three of them get together and quickly become a couple. When TJ has to return home suddenly, Doug and Rosie follow. They admit their love for each other and hope to start a life together.

This is the first book in this series I have read, so I didn't have the background on Doug's family having alternative lifestyles. I believe that TJ, Doug and Rosie all care for each other, it just seemed a little sudden, especially given her virgin and never been kissed status. I felt the storyline didn't need the virgin element and made the whole story of them coming together a little unbelievable.

Doug, Rosalia and T.J. are all attracted to one another. Will T.J.'s past prevent them from being together? A steamy sexy, mmf read.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

While I adore most of the works by this two authors separately, together this book just didn't thrill me.

It's a well written menage that is fast paced. There is little to no external conflict and it just felt a little flat to me as far as the relationship went.

I really enjoy reading stories written by these two very imaginative authors. They know how to write a menage story with great characters, sexy scenes and feelings not just sex to keep the book flowing and interesting.I enjoyed the fact that they were storm chasers,an unusual theme, never read a book with that theme before so it was unique.

I normally hate novellas; I despise them with a passion because all too often there is insignificant character development. But not this time! For once, I felt a real connection to the characters and their back stories.

My complaint though is that the book ended way too early, in fact it was a complete surprise that it was over especially given my kindle telling me I was only at 85% of the way through the book. There were so many issues that could have still been dealt with but weren't in favor of a shorter book.

I found this book interesting in its presentation and development of the loving love triangle, but somehow it didn't feel quite authentically believable. Perhaps the characters were a little flat and predictable. I had difficulty finishing the book, unfortunately.

Action and adventure on more than just the dangerous path to chasing tornadoes. Will the road to romance be fraught with the pitfalls that occur when hearts get involved? Menages can work, but it takes a certain effort on all participants to take it beyond the bedroom.

This is my first book by either Mari Carr or Jayne Rylon, but the blurb got my attention so I thought I would take a chance. I'm so glad that I did! Light as Air was a really sexy MMF romance! It's the last book in the Compass Boys series (as well as the Compass series overall), but can be enjoyed as a standalone. Characters from all the previous books do appear though.

I loved how Doug, TJ, and Rosalia were each the missing piece for each other. There wasn't a time when anyone felt like the third wheel. They all truly loved and cared for each other. Yes, it's not a conventional relationship, but it worked so well between the three of them. Their chemistry was scorching hot and I liked that there wasn't any unnecessary drama between them. The push and pull and the obstacles they face were realistic and honest.

I do wish the book had been longer so we could have developed the characters a bit more and seen further into the future, but it's possible Doug (and TJ) were already firmly established in the previous books. I think if I had read the original Compass Brothers series I would have appreciated the epilogue a lot more, but it was sweet and seemed to bring the series full circle. I look forward to going back and reading the previous books in the series.

*I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

These two authors are THE BOMB! This entire series is purely brilliant. You will not put this book down. As for the sex scenes - omg they were SCORCHING HOT!! If anyone can write a ménage it’s these two. Love this series and highly recommend it but be warned you may get burned from the HOTNESS. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was because it was way too short. I needed more of theses three characters.

Light as Air by Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon is the 4th and apparently final book in the Compass Boys series. The Compass Ranch series has had 12 books since 2010 and this final one wraps up the storyline. This is the first book I’ve read by either author and it was a good one to start with. Note: Light as Air is a MMF read so if that isn’t your thing don’t one click haha. 4.25/5 for this read and these new to me authors.

Doug Compton has known what he wanted to be when he grew up his whole life. One short, stupid second when he was 16 years old changes that forever. He also realizes at that same time he may want something he may not be able to have.

Thornton Joshua Nicholas III “TJ” lost his mom at age 11 and has been trying to live up to the promise he made on her deathbed. Doug is his best friend and he wants to be there for him no matter what. Is friendship all he feels though? When Doug invites him on the job of a lifetime he sees his way out of the hell his life has become.

Rosalia is a tough storm chaser from a big Italian family. Up until recently, or maybe even still, classified herself as a nerd. Doug had been flirting for months, she jokingly called him her “work husband”. She likes him but has a strict no mixing work and pleasure rule, so she is shocked to find herself attracted to TJ as well.

Doug, TJ and Rosalia take a slow journey together to discover not only their true selves but what each other longs to experience. It is a wonderful love story, not only about lovers but friends with a deep caring for each other. Love is Love, it is as simple as that.
I received an advance copy from Netgalley without any expectation for review. I’m only sorry I’ve come so late to the Compass Ranch party. Now comes the task of ordering all the previous novels. A readers work is never done!!!

Good book. I liked the setting and the characters. I would have liked to read more! This is a series and I haven’t read all of them.

This was sweet, very sexy, very very HOT menage read. I loved how this all came together. I do wish there was an additional hundred pages with more story, but everything came together perfectly.

I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have read other Jayne Rylon books before, but hadn't read any of the Compass Boys/Compton Pass books, so I went into this with no background. It can absolutely be read as a stand-alone, though it might make it a richer reading experience if you know more about Doug's family.

Doug and TJ have been best friends since childhood, through Doug's dream-killing shattered leg and TJ's mom's death to cancer and his dad's determined descent into alcoholism. While Doug has escaped to work as a storm-chasing cameraman, TJ has attempted to save his father for years. But when Doug makes an offer he can't refuse, TJ signs up to go find tornadoes. What he didn't sign up for was Rosalia, the incredibly hot and smart researcher heading the team up.

And because this is romance, they all fall into bed together. What I appreciated was that there's actual dudes touching dudes because I'm continually amazed at the amount of NO HOMO nonsense that happens in this genre. It's not a genre our system really buys, but I'll happily recommend these authors looking for good MMF romances.

Not everyone can write a good ménage but Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon sure do know how to write them well. They let you get to know the characters along with the hot sex. It’s always good to visit Compass Ranch and reading about old friends. The premise of this one was unique (at least to me). I never read about storm chasers and weather enthusiasts so it was refreshing for a change. Sure didn’t expect TJ to be the more dominant one in the relationship but it was a good surprise. It’s hard to to see the Compass family come to an end but it was enjoyable while it lasted. Here’s to a new family/series that will be just as entertaining.

Omg.....when these two authors get together, amazing things happen behind their book covers, and between their characters too. Sexy and steamy, this romance is packed with hot scenes and sizzling chemistry throughout the book. A fun plot, great writing and maybe a surprise along the way, make for a very great read. Would definitely recommend this book to all book lovers out there

It is so sad to see the end of Compton Pass and its first family.

As always, love is celebrated regardless of the form it takes. The story of Doug, TJ and Rosalia proves that emphatically.

A fitting end to a fabulous series of books. Now back to the beginning and an entire re-read.

Thank you Mari and Jayne for making me feel part of such a wonderful family!

i hadn't read this author before so i didn't realize this was the last of a series. nothing about it really captured me. i know this is a genre where you tend to suspend disbelief but i found myself scoffing several times at the ridiculousness of the heroine.
