Fall is coming to Keepsake Cove. Callie (the new owner of the music box store) wants to become more involved in her new community so she volunteers to plan the Fall street decorations and welcome a visiting author who's come for a special book signing. All is going on schedule until the local B&B owner is found dead. Suspicion falls on his estranged wife, Dorothy since he appeared to be stabbed with a pair of vintage scissors from the her shop. Callie and the visiting author are sure Dorothy is innocent and begin their own investigstion.

This is one of my favorite Cozy authors. The characters and story are consistent (important for me) A very enjoyable book.

This is the second book in the Keepsake Cove series and it was just as fun a read as the previous book. The setting is a seaside town in Maryland where Callie has recently inherited her aunt's Music Box shop. The shop is on a street where everyone sells keepsakes to tourists. I like this series because it takes me to a town where the people are able to make a living selling trinkets to tourists willing to buy. Life here is ideal. The town is having a Halloween / Harvest festival and Callie makes a new friend in spunky author Lyssa. Callie's friend Dorothy is suspected of killing her estranged husband and Lyssa and Callie investigate. The characters have depth and are well thought out. I recommend this book and look forward to the next in the series.

A well crafted cozy mystery. There are enough characters to keep reader guessing who's the killer. The setting, the little town of Keepsake Cove is a antique /collectors haven. When a prominent businessman is found murdered, stabbed with a pair of antique scissors, Callie Reed sets out to find the killer. Her problem escalates when she unearths secrets about the people in her little community, and discovers many motives. The resolution believable and satisfying.

Never having read the first book I caught up on with Calli and the residence pretty quickly at Keepsake Cove .
Calli now the new owner of a vintage music box that was left to her by her Aunt.
Enjoyed the story line and all the characters with the different shops, a few twists never guess who the killers was and surprised.
Couldn't put it down enjoyable read .
Looking forward to Mary Elleen Hughes next book in keepsake cove.

I usually enjoy series set in my home state of Maryland, and was so glad to see this second book in the series after enjoying the first one. Loved the fall setting and the character's growth from the first book. Well done mystery that kept me guessing along with others. The music box education is a bonus.

Callie Reed is the newest shop owner in wonderful neighborhood of shops in Maryland's eastern shore. Anxious to fit in she takes over the planning to organize Fall street decorations and welcome a visiting author who's come for a special book signing.
With such good intentions it's a shame that murder and mayhem also get in on the act. There a a number of things going on in this story but each one is handled very well and the writing never lets you down.

I thought this was a much better mystery than the first book, A Fatal Collection. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that there was a murder and Callie actively investigates with a new friend, who it appears, may be a new recurring character.

On the bad side, the murder outs themself and there's really no proof. Gah, this is happening so often in the books I read. Callie said she was picking up (my poor wording) hints of who the murder was. Yeah, sure.

This series' mystery story lines still need some work, but I enjoyed it.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is a great series that will appeal to mystery mavens.
I enjoy the unique theme of the series. Learning about music boxes is exciting and the cast of colorful personalities makes the books even better.

Sadly I missed the first story (this is the second) so there a few mentions that left me adrift. Only a few though, and very minor overall, but still there. A fun cozy mystery that was enjoyable from beginning to end. Really liked this one, and highly recommend this book and author. Would suggest you would probably gain from reading the first book, which sets Callie up in the music box story she inherits from her aunt. The description of this town sounds wonderful, and would love to visit a town like this (minus the murders of course). A good book to curl up with on a rainy afternoon.
