I really enjoyed this book! I loved how much detail the author put into setting you up in the world where Chase and Charlie live. Immediately you route for Charlie because she has this baby and clearly was escaping some horrible life. And there is Chase who was basically his brothers and sisters mother their whole life. Chase and Charlie were destined to be together and it was such a cute story. There is so much chemistry between them! I really enjoyed how well intertwined there world is. This is a must read for any romance novel addict!!!! I couldn't put it down.

Each has something to prove to the world and each other. Whether running from the past or rebuilding a brighter future, Overdrive steers full throttle through life, love and redemption to find a home within your heart. Keeps reminds us through the eyes of Chase and Charlotte of a super important lesson. We are not the sum of our mistakes, but the wisdom we gain from them.

I enjoyed the story Overdrive. It was a clean love story about a young girl running from her high profile racing family. She is trying to turn her life around, with a fresh start and a new baby, when she finds shelter with a rival racing family. This story has secrets, tragedy, broken characters and characters on the mend. I do wish that the peak of the story would've come more in the middle of the book and not in the last 10%. It seemed rushed, and for a while I was concerned that it was going to end and leave me hanging, but it didn't.

Overall, Good read! Great short!

Chase Calhoun and his family run Calhoun Customs Garage, where their retired NASCAR driver father started. His father, Marty was just diagnosed with Parkinson's disease thus far only Marty's hands are shaking but that enough that they garage needs to hire a graphic artist for his father to mentor. Chase never expected the girl with a baby to be the one they hire especially after finding her and her three month old baby, Zoe hiding in the attic of the garage--a place that he has rarely gone since his mother's death.

Charlotte Jackson is used to garages and fast cars since her father and brother are both NASCAR drivers. But unlike her brother, Charlie must follow her father's orders that means giving her beautiful daughter up for adoption. Something that she's not willing to do--so she runs away with her baby. Her original plans fell through so she went to the infamous Calhoun Custom Garage knowing that they are looking for a graphic artist--something she is passionate about but her father doesn't allow her to do. Charlie is also running from the PI her father hired her to bring her home. Tony Jackson is never told no. He is a sore loser.
Chase brings Charlie into the family fold and Marty mentors her. The Calhoun family also assist Charlie with standing up to her father. Her brother, Ronan is also finally able to break free of Tony's command.

Single mom, Charlotte “Charlie” Jackson, is on the run from her father because he wants to put her baby up for adoption. He doesn’t want any more scandal from his rebellious daughter, especially about being an unwed mother. Charlie’s brother, Ronan, is a NASCAR driver and her father wants all of the attention on his son. Charlie soon finds herself in Bigfork, Montana in hopes to land a job as a graphic design artist at Calhoun Customs.

Chase Calhoun was instantly attracted to Charlie the first time he saw her but he had no idea she was living out of her car and sneaking into his shop at night to sleep in the attic. When he found Charlie and baby Zoe asleep in the attic, he decided he had to do something. Chase took them home and then gave Charlie a job. The last thing he expected was to find out was who she really was, the daughter of one of his father’s racing rivals from back in his NASCAR days. And he definitely didn’t except to find himself falling in love with Charlie.

I really enjoyed this book with the background of racing and a custom car shop. It was a little different than the books I have been reading lately. Though it is romance, the story line was more unique and had a lot of excitement and family drama. I couldn’t help getting attached to some of the secondary characters as well and can’t wait to find out more about them in the upcoming books in this series.

The heroine, Charlie, is on the run with her young baby from a totally evil father. Somehow, she ends up in Montana, hiding out in the custom car business of the Calhoun family. There’s a bit of insta-love going on as soon as the oldest son, Chase, sees her. They fall for each other right away and his lovely family takes her in, gives her a job that they just happen to need filled and she happens to have the talent to do. Their family of five siblings and a father who has just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s are very close, but troubled enough so that there will be enough drama for future novels.

Chase’s siblings tease him for being so caring and responsible by calling him Mother. It all makes him seem even more noble and likeable. For having such a dramatic set-up, not all that much happens in the novel and everything gets resolved easily and quickly in about one week. That’s what insta-love can do, I guess.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Short but great read. Looking forward to more from this author.

Charlie and Chase meet while she is on the run from her family. He can't help looking after people, so offers her and her baby a place to stay and job. When he finds out who she really is he still wants to help him. Both have things in their past they want to move on from and having a future together is a big step forward for them.
This book sets the scene well for the rest of the series.

This is a sweet story about Chase and Charlie – instantly attracted to each other, but this is a friends to lovers book. Charlie is on the run from her past along with her 3 month old daughter when they run into Chase at the grocery store. Because their families are in the same business, she instantly knows who he is. Long story short, Chase catches Charlie living in the attic of his family’s auto store and invites Charlie and her daughter to come stay with him. She also begins working for his family. There bond is sealed when Chase falls in love with mother and daughter and will do anything to help them.
I thought this book was very touching. I instantly loved Chase. He’s a great fit for Charlie.
This was my first book by this author, but I look forward to reading previous books and future books of hers.

I happened upon this book on Netgalley and the blurb really intrigued me. I love family stories with simple romantic tones. This is a great summer read, easy to get absorbed in and beautifully told - I'm so happy to have read such a well written, lovely romance. Told from the third person point of view, Juanita Kees, a new to me author, laid the foundation for Chase and Charlie's story perfectly with an interesting plot. Her writing engaged me and kept the story flowing smoothly from beginning to end. Their journey encompasses conflicted pasts, a big tight-knit family, and two people looking for redemption and freedom for two very different reasons.

Chase and Charlie are both impeccably charming characters muddling their way through life, creating something better for themselves. Sweet Charlie, tormented by her family, falls into the open arms of the Calhoun family seamlessly. Alpha Chase always taking care of everyone around him falls right into Charlie immediately. Together they wind through a story of coming out on top while finding each other. Kees never burdens us with superfluous conflict or details. She gives everything we need to fall in love with these characters. Additionally, we meet the other characters who make up and complete Calhoun circle each of whom intrigued me greatly. I hope all the Calhoun siblings get stories of their own.

I adore endearing love stories with great outer conflicts that don't inflict the couple with forced angst as their discovering what could be. Add in a big, boisterous family who's overcoming their own issues yet still remain so close and you get a true winner. With excellent storytelling chops, Juanita Kees impressed me with Overdrive not only her lovely writing but an engaging yet easy plot, delightful setting and background, and relatable, intriguing characters. I can't wait for more Calhouns Customs stories.
