Much like Volume 1 of Superb, I still didn't care for Jonah's character design (and the overall artwork/character designs), and the pacing/plotting is still plodding.

Jonah Watkins's story is getting more interesting with each new issue. As the plot thickens and their enemies are revealed, the fight to free Kayla and Jonah's parents gets much more complicated. As Cosmosis and Amina they learn that being enhanced is not enough to win against Foresight. I'm thoroughly enjoying the Superb series and can't wait for more. This volume offers readers greater insight into Jonah and Kayla's background and friendship, and also their perspectives on the situation they are now facing. I recommend Superb for fans of Superfreaks and other Catalyst Prime Universe series!

This is a strong and very appealing series. The art is superb, the characterization and the dialogue is believable and moves the story well. The inclusion of a main character born with Down's Syndrome is handled matter-of-factly and is not pandering nor condescending. He simply is who he is, and the fact that he is part of this comic series is a bonus for us who do not interact often with people who have Down's Syndrome. It is part of the strength and charm of this series, and I hugely appreciate that the writers go to great length to make sure he is believable and just a regular guy like the rest of us....who just so happens to have super power abilities too.
I have embraced these characters, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

A pretty to look at but all too predictable story. As mentioned, the artwork is nice, the characters are okay. I just found the overall plot to be a bit too predictable for me to really call it enjoyable.

Ignoring the fact that I haven’t read volume 1 and don’t really know what’s going on, I still really enjoyed this comic. A bunch of teenagers trying to be superheros is trite but fun.
The diversity is awesome. I love that a kid with disabilities (down syndrome) gets to be a superhero.
I wish it didn’t end on a cliffhanger though; I had hoped that more would happen in a volume.

Superb is the second book of a comic book series and even if I didn’t dislike it, I was disappointed.
I really enjoy the first book of this series and was really looking forward to the next opus.
But the story ended up being confusing as fuck and just really messy.
Also, it really was forgettable. I’ve read it 3 weeks ago and barely remember anything.
I still enjoyed the characters. They’re really cool and it always feel good to have diverse characters.
I’ll still read the next book though.

I was super excited to see this ARC today. I've been needing a kick in the pants to pick up this series. Sadly I don't even have any interest left in me for Vol. 2 after I had to sludge through Vol. 1. Here is my good reads review for Vol. 1 so that the authors, artist, and production can still receive some sort of feed back. ""I just can't get into this. Something about reading this makes it feel less like an enjoyable superhero romp and more like a chore. Everything was a little bland. I was really hoping the diversity and representation of downs syndrome would be enough to pull this along, but sadly because of the character design he didn't even stand out. Over all it wasn't terrible, but I have no interest in visiting these characters again in Vol. 2."" Over all I don't think this series is terrible. I'm sure tons of people would enjoy it, but it just ended up being a little cut and paste for someone that reads as many comics as myself. Either way thank you so much for the representation of neurodiversitiy.

'Superb Vol 2: Generation Wars' from David F. Walker and Sheena C. Howard was a pretty good improvement over the first volume.

Cosmosis, Amina and Abbie have avoided detection, but not before Foresight Corporation has captured Cosmosis and Amina's parents. Now it's time for a bold rescue mission. We also find out that Foresight has their own super-powered kids and wants to use them to capture our heroes. Of course, things don't go well, and there are some surprises along the way, like Cosmosis wanting to quit being a hero.

The story made a bit more sense this time around, maybe because I'm learning the universe, or maybe because there was less jumping around from past to present. That still happens here, but in the earlier issues it makes more sense. The art by Alitha Martinez and Ray-Anthony Height isn't bad. Overall, I'm curious enough to know what happens next.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Lion Forge, Diamond Book Distributors, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

This second volume of Superb brings plenty of action as well as a more realistic viewpoint of how difficult it would be for teens with enhanced powers to be the heroes. It is a struggle for certain, and this part of the story includes the complexities, misunderstandings and failed achievements of those less experienced. The artwork is excellent and the storyline easy to follow. Enjoyable and recommended.
