Is this second chance romance? Enemies to lovers? Sexy alpha male romance? Obnoxious, sexy Scot with a beard sizzling romance? How about all the above, and more. Let’s not forget the angst, the heartache, and one stubborn as all hell character who meets a fiery interior designer under untimely circumstances in an airport, and although they instantly hate each other, the chemistry between them is undeniable. When it’s apparent that they’re going to be living in the same city, the stakes are very much raised. No matter how much they try to remain casual, feelings always seem to get in the way, and when love is unrequited and emotions start ruling, drastic measures must be taken. Wonderful writing, fab story with in-depth characters. I was hooked from start to finish. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

DNF @ 11%. I just can not get into this book and I am really not in the mood to make myself try. I really dislike both the lead characters so far and the male lead's Scottish accent is driving me insane. A couple of main words (like "to" and "didn't") are spelled out differently to show the accent and I'm just not feeling it. I think you need to do most of the dialogue like that or none at all.

This book was sooo good and the perfect bit of escapism I needed as the weather gets more autumnal.

Ava and Caleb are similar in some regards as neither are looking for a relationship, but when they meet on a flight they can’t ignore the sizzle of attraction between them.
Both characters are well portrayed and the emotions and reactions seem both honest and real, sometimes romance novels can orchestrate drama and arguments, that lack a truth and a honesty. This felt like a very real romance.

My only niggle and it’s a tiny one is that I know he’s Scottish but i would have preferred if he didn’t talk in an accent all the time, I found the word ‘tae’ especially annoying.

Brilliant book, great for cheering up a grey afternoon. Thanks to Netgalley and InkSlinger for this ARC in exchange for a honest review .

Liked, didn't love this one. I never really understood the draw to Caleb, the love interest (other than the physical). However, the rapport was entertaining and I liked Ava's devotion to her friend Harper. I would definitely be interested in reading another book from this author.

“And P.S. You win when you realize that anyone can hurt you, even those you never expect it from. Once you know that … you’ll never be knocked off your feet long enough to lose.”

'Fight Or Flight' is a fabulous contemporary romance novel by Samantha Young.

The universe is conspiring against Ava Breevort. As if flying back to Phoenix to bury a childhood friend wasn’t bad enough, a cloud of volcanic ash traveling from overseas has delayed her flight home to Boston. Her last-ditch attempt to salvage her trip is thwarted by an angry Scotsman, Caleb Scott, steals the last first-class seat right out from under her. However, as they journey home Ava and Caleb’s antagonism somehow lands them in bed together.

It was just meant to be one night, but then Caleb shows up on her doorstep and proposes that they continue their physical relationship while he’s stranded in Boston. Knowing there’s no chance she might fall for him since she barely likes him and his time in her life is temporary, Ava agrees.

However, as she gets to know Caleb, she realises she may have just made a big mistake because Caleb Scott isn’t quite as unlikable after all. But when Caleb’s stay in Boston becomes permanent, Ava needs to decide whether to fight her growing feelings for him or risk getting her heart broken by attempting a relationship with a man who is just as much against relationships as she was.

A miracle had happened. I found myself feeling something for a guy. Actually, maybe, wanting to try out something real with him. And he just happened to be the most brutally honest, commitment-phobic man I’d ever met.

I have read and loved every single book Samantha Young has written, and I was dying to get my hands on 'Fight Or Flight'. Surprisingly it took me a bit to get into this book and I even began to worry that I wasn’t going to like it, although I think that was purely because at the beginning of the novel Caleb Scott is a very unlikable character and – quite frankly – a straight up asshole, so it took me a while to warm up to home and really get into the story.
Thankfully worry did not last long as you soon begin to see more from the Scotsman than just his defensive and arrogant façade, and before long I was just as in love with 'Fight Or Flight' and its characters as I have been with every other one of Samantha Young’s books.

I absolutely loved the arc these characters travelled, particular the arc their relationship traversed, as you see them go from enemies, to ‘enemies with benefits’, to ‘friends with benefits’ and into a fully-fledged romance as they each fought to overcome past wounds and betrayals.

“We’ve both made it clear that this is just a physical relationship, and after last night I am more convinced than ever that you’re not one of these women who tells you she’s happy with it just being sex but is angling for more. I get that now. Which means when we talked about being friends, we both meant that too. We can handle it. So I made up my mind that you’re my friend, Ava. And I’m worried about my friend.”

One of my favourite things about Samantha Young’s writing is her ability to create realistic and multi-dimensional characters. I loved that she didn’t just write Caleb and Ava as having ‘commitment issues’ to add drama, but really explored the way betrayal can affect someone and showed, incredibly realistically, their journey with recovery. From having them initially avoid anything that could possible risk them getting hurt, to accepting the things that occurred in their pasts, and eventually getting to the point where they were ready to move on with their lives.

“We’re all afraid of something, sweetheart. It’s up to us whether we stay and fight that fear … or whether we run and hide from it. I’m glad you’re not going to hide anymore. You have to promise not to hide anymore.”
“I promise.”

So often these sorts of themes are used in a book as nothing more than a basic attempt at creating depth and extra drama in a character’s life, and it was so refreshing to see an author take the time to fully flesh out the characters and give them a realistic development arc where falling in love wasn’t some magic cure-all, but was instead a way for them to realise what they really wanted in life and give them the confidence to go after it.

“Caleb, don’t you see? You changed me. You made me brave enough to fight against what I was most afraid of and admit that I’m in love with you. I wish I could make you feel brave too. But that’s not going to happen apparently.” I swiped at my tears but refused to break eye contact. He needed to understand the reality of what he was doing to us. “Just because you’ve decided I’m not worth the risk doesn’t mean that I’m not willing to take it again. So, I have to thank you for that. Because it might take weeks, months, but I will fight to get over you. I will fight to find someone who loves me and wants to make a future with me. I will move on.”

While there are some heavier moments, 'Fight Or Flight' does have many light-hearted and fun moments, particular as Caleb and Ava’s antagonism begins to merge into a more playful teasing.

“I hope it falls off,” I muttered.
“What?”
I gave him a blinding smile. “I hope they fall all over you.”
“You said, ‘I hope it falls off.’”
“Did I?” I shrugged innocently. “Slip of the tongue.”
“Aye, if I remember correctly you’re good at that too.”
I glowered at him, scowling harder as I felt the seat shake with his laughter.
Bastard. Scot.

'Fight Or Flight' is a fun and sexy contemporary romance and I hope we get to see more about Ava and Caleb and the rest of the characters Samantha has created for this spectacular story.

I loved this romance with age 30-something characters, people established in their careers, and hurt from past loves and betrayals. Ava and Caleb start out as almost enemies, become casual lovers and then there is a rocky road to the HEA. The journey was just as good as the destination. I liked Ava's friend Haley, and Caleb's brother, Quinn. Possible couple? Samantha Young has only matured and gotten better as a writer. I'll always read her.

I’ll be honest, it took me a bit to get into this book. I had a hard time with Caleb. I love a good alpha jerk but, he took it to the extreme. He had to work hard to win me over but, he quickly succeeded. Ava didn’t have to put in as much work however it still took a bit for me to warm up to her too. Once I did though it was like fanning a flame and I could not put this book down. I had to know what was going to happen next because so much happened in this book I knew with every turn of the page I would get sucked further into this amazing story.

This is one of the few books this year that held scenes that just punched me in the gut and strangled me with emotions. My chest ached, my throat closed off, and I physically ached for these characters. When a book evokes that powerful of emotions within you, you know it’s one that will stick with you forever. The second I finished I immediately went back to bookmarked pages just to see if I would get the same reaction the second time I read it. It didn’t come as a surprise to me that I did. What did come as a surprise is that a book with such a fun cover and a blurb that sounded more like a romantic comedy could pack this kind of punch. Kudos to Samantha Young for being able to take me by surprise and keep me glued to my kindle.

There is so much going on in this book that were I to mention it all this review would be pages long. All you need to know is that this book has all the feels, it leaves you feeling both satisfied and craving more. These characters are some of the best I’ve read and you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not reading their story.

This book was fun! It was also a rollercoaster of emotions. It went from lighthearted and sexy to really angsty. It let the reader know pretty early on that Ava has a heavy background but it's not until later that the reader discovers Caleb also has a heavy background. The two are rude and snobby at the beginning so it takes some time to warm up to them but I did. I began to like their personalities because they worked well together. It was solely about sex at first but it grew to be much more complicated and interesting as the pages turned. Their banter was lovely and whenever they were in a room together, it was very intense and hot. Some of the background elements seemed like they were created just so there could be some very angsty scenes and it was a bit overdone sometimes. While I enjoyed that Caleb was Scottish, it took me some time to get used to how the author wrote in his Scottish accent. She also could have been more creative in his last name (Scott...come on. He's Scottish and his last name is Scott) as well as his brother's (Jamie). She was obviously influenced by Outlander, which was mentioned at least once in the book.
This is my first Samantha Young book and can easily see myself reading more of her stuff. This is kind of a beach read and not to be taken seriously for sure but I would recommend it for anyone looking for a quick and romantic read.

Ava is gorgeous -- blonde with a perfect build and a beautiful face, she puts a lot of effort into her looks not to impress others, but to impress herself. Ava's skirt suits and perfectly-applied makeup make her feel good inside and out, and if anyone else appreciates the view then that's good for them. Ava has no problem being single; she has her best friend, Harper, a six-figure salary for a job she loves, and a meticulously designed expensive apartment in Boston. Caleb, on the other hand, is 6+ feet of blond Scottish muscle with the stubble and tattoos to go along with it. No one would guess he's the CFO of a major tech company, especially considering how impolite he is, but it turns out he's got the brains and the brawn. When Ava and Caleb run into each other at the airport, literally, it's hate at first sight. Caleb is rude, obnoxious, and wouldn't know what "chivalry" meant if it knocked him in the head. Against all odds, though, the two keep crossing paths until it seems that fate must really want them to try to hash out their differences. And they find just the way to do it -- friends with benefits. Both Ava and Caleb have complicated pasts, so it's easy for the two of them to lose themselves in a no-strings-attached setup. But when the line between casual fling and true friendship starts to blur, it only gets more difficult for both to ignore their true feelings. With one of them making the same mistakes over again and the other not able to put the past where it belongs to take a chance on love, it seems like this unlikely duo is bound for heartbreak.

Thoughts: It's not a surprise that I finished this book in a day. It was a cute, fun read, for the most part. I enjoyed Ava's character, even though she has an unhealthy way of dealing with life's stressors. Earth to Ava: Throwing yourself into york is not the answer! Caleb, however, is a total jerk at the beginning of the book. And the middle of the book. And a little bit at the end, except for the epilogue. It's like the guy just can't help himself. He knows exactly the wrong thing to say and when to say it to cause the most damage. And lest we forget he has no concept of the words "please" and "thank you". Ava may be able to look past it, but not this former waitress. And how he talks to Ava sometimes just drove me nuts. I ended up enjoying their dynamic by the end, but it really took some time for Caleb to win me over. How Ava could let some of his shenanigans go is beyond me. But, alas, it was still an enjoyable, light read with witty banter, strong chemistry, and a somewhat unique storyline to pull it all together.

I love bit of rom-com. I love everything I have read by Samantha Young. Samantha Young gives me a rom-com? Woo hoo!

And one with a Hot Scot? Swoon!

Right from the get go, I was hooked on Fight Or Flight. Oh, the antaganism between Caleb and Ava, what amazing foreplay! As much as Caleb made me made on Ava's behalf, I couldn't help but love the man 😍😍😍

I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud at his OTT rudeness.

However, what I wasn't expecting was so much emotion. Yes, this is a romcom, however the story delved into some highly emotional events, and I am not going to lie, I did shed a tear or few at times.

We have some ab fab secondary characters. Ava's best friend Harper is the kind of besty we all need in our lives. She needs a story of her own

And I hope that we get more of Caleb's siblings stories - especially Jamie (another hot scot called Jamie? let me at him!)

I thoroughly enjoyed Fight Or Flight, and I can't wait to see what Ms Young brings us next.

BIANCA

Awwww that was soooo adorably hilarious!!

I just adored everything about Ava and Caleb from the very first moment!

You start reading and you just love those two. Caleb is so over-the-top rude to Ava. He thinks she's this little rich girl with her expensive designer clothes. And of course Ava insults him right back. I laughed all through the beginning of the book.

But the book has some not so funny moments too. We go back in time a few times. Back to teenager Ava and her two best friends. And there are some other exciting and even scary moments along the way.

But mostly it's about Ava and Caleb and how they're dealing with not wanting anything serious, but at the same time, they can't stay away from each other. I just loved their foreplay fighting!

Getting those two to their happily ever after will not be easy! ☺

We also get to know some more people. Like Ava's bestie Harper - I really hope we'll get her book too ... and Leo and Caleb's siblings - especially JAMIE!

SAM, PLEASE GIVE ME ALLLL THESE BOOKS!

(If we don't get at least Harper's book, I would have to complain that we heard a tiny little bit too much about her life in this book!)

And while I'm complaining about things. I think the mega-rom-com-ness from the beginning gets a bit lost along the way. I would've loved some more of that sprinkled along the story. BUT ... the story was amazing the way it was... I just missed the fun a little bit ... The book was maybe a bit too long, with all their back and forth ...

Still - amazing book. I even shed some tears! ☺

I loved Ava & Caleb and I need more from that world!

And I soooo need to see this on Netflix or the big screen!

With Sam Heughan and ... I would say a young Reese Witherspoon maybe. ☺

It was an engaging story but there were elements of their relationship that bordered on abusive that made me uncomfortable. There was that tinge there that didn't make it hard to imagine that he'd lose his temper one time and hit her.

“I never believed in fate until you”

Fight or Flight is an enemies to lovers romance starring two people who met during a layover in an airport under the worst of circumstances. I’ve read a few books by Samantha Young and I’ve enjoyed every one, including this one, but this one had a few aspects that really did have me side-eyeing. But overall, I did think this was a fun and fast read!

➽ Ava Breevort - Interior designer. Boston local. Grieving the loss of someone who used to mean a lot to her and is currently trying to fly back to Boston after attending a funeral.

➽ Caleb Scott - CFO for an up and coming tech company. Visiting from Scotland. And currently at the airport and realizing that he is going to be stuck in the US for longer than he anticipated.

And I said this was an enemies to lovers story, so they obviously hate each other… at first. But they soon realize that the only way for them to stop thinking about each other is to get whatever it is out of their system. But only for one night. But after that one night, they realize that it might not be enough. Yet, both of these characters have built such walls around their hearts because of things that happened to them in their pasts. Plus, Caleb is stuck in Boston for a little longer. And he gets to see Ava for who she really is, and he gets to slowly meet the found family she has created for herself. This is really a story about fate and how sometimes unexpected things can really completely change the outcome of lives; for the better and for the worse.

“You win when you realize that anyone can hurt you, even those you never expect it from. Once you know that … you’ll never be knocked off your feet long enough to lose.”

This book was completely addicting, and I never wanted to put it down. Ever. No matter how infuriated I got at some of the things Caleb did and some of his gross actions. But I couldn’t write this review without talking about some of the gross things he did in this book. First off, during a sex scene, Ava realizes that he doesn’t have a condom on, and after asking him to go put one on, he kind of hesitates and goes for another stroke and…. *throws up forever* I can’t, friends, I really can’t. Next, he totally villainizes a woman for having an abortion. Like, there are a lot of aspects you could villainize this woman for; lying, using him, whatever really, but villainizing her for having an abortion just makes me sick to me stomach to read. Nothing, and I truly mean nothing, gives him a say in what any woman does with her body, ever. And lastly, this book is for sure an enemies to lovers storyline, but Caleb says some really horrible things to Ava about her appearance and judging her because of it. And I get it, sometimes we all have stereotypical thoughts about people at times, but Caleb turns it into “you don’t have power over me just because you look good” type of shit. And I’ve personally had dudes act like that to me before, and you know where they are? In the fucking trash where they belong. Like, no. It’s unacceptable, especially for the length that Caleb continued to judge Ava.

And I’m not going to say that Ava was my favorite protagonist of all-time or anything, but I really did love reading about her for many reasons. First off, she is successful and did it all on her own, with really shitty parental figures that didn’t do anything to help her. Next, she is just caring and reaches out to help others around her. Her and Harper’s friendship was probably my favorite aspect of the entire book. Lastly, I get that Ava is that typical blonde heroine, that’s skinny but has big boobs, but the author kind of has a unique spin on it, because Ava brings up how everything is always sexualized because of her bigger chest. And, I know this seems so small in comparison to everything else that needs representing in the world, but I used to really struggle with this growing up. My mom would always make me feel terrible, even just wearing a v-neck t-shirt. But, friends, I moved away from home and realized that was entirely her (and society’s) problem, not me or my genetics that I have no control over. Basically what I’m trying to say is that Caleb makes some questionable choices in this book, but Ava really is the shining star of it.

Overall, I really never wanted to put this down. I felt completely immersed and captivated while flipping the pages every time I opened this book up. And I can’t wait to see what Samantha Young does next, because she really set up a lot of characters to have side books. Seriously, I’ll commit a minor felony for a Harper book. And I know I sound a little negative in this review, but I just didn’t want to make light of anything. But I did enjoy this story, and I think a lot of people are going to completely love this book upon release.

I reached up and ran my fingers over the prickle of thick stubble on his face and whispered, "Will it tickle my thighs?"

You know that fine line between love and hate? Well, Caleb and Ava cross it repeatedly and it's funny and it's so damn HOT! I loved the snark and witty banter between this couple. And did I mention that Caleb is an asshole with a sexy accent? Can you imagine the dilemma of not knowing whether to slap him or to find out how that stubble really feels?

I fell hard for Ava and her bestie Harper. I wanna hang out with those two and have a girl's night. When your own family lets you down, you find your own, and that's what they've done. They are each other's family and they also know where all the bodies are buried. So not only do that have each other's back, they know each other so well that they can hear what's not being said. My fingers are crossed that the author decides to give Harper her own story because I'd love to meet the man that deserves her. Actually, I'm already doing some mental matchmaking and I have my eye on someone I think could ease her pain.

As usual, Samantha Young gave me all the feels. She put me inside the heads of these broken characters and made me feel their pain. I yearned for them to let go of their stubborn determination to never let anyone into their hearts again. Even I could feel their chemistry through the pages of my Kindle, so there's no way they could deny it forever, right? That's what I kept telling myself as I worried and waited for them to fall. And then, when they were faced with the decision of either Fight or Flight I hoped they would stay and play. How can he resist her when she tells him, "I'm going to miss you in my bed, Caleb Scott. And in a hotel bed. And against the wall. And in the shower."? Will he decide she's worth the risk to his heart?

Haha ok... can I just say I LOVE the enemies to lovers concept! This always gets me! I think this honestly is my favorite type of romance/love stories!

This was my first novel by Samantha Young and I definitely was engaged by her writing!

Caleb and Ava meet on a flight after Scotsman Caleb pisses off Ava to the max at the checkout counter. Their story quickly takes off with the enemies to lovers plot.

Ok.. let me start off I LOVED Ava! What a fiesty strong little chica we have here! Now... Caleb... not at all... just thought he came off as a tad bit too arrogant and the author was trying a bit too hard for the typical "bad boy" character. I would never have him on my boyfriend list lol.

What I loved about this novel? Samantha does a wonderful job leaving her readers on edge wondering when the romance will kick off. The characters have a nice balance of fighting/bickering, then sexual chemistry, and finally a cute overall swoon ending.

But, I was pretty shocked that the author took more of a serious note in this romance.. to the emotional side. Which not sure I liked honestly.... I was hoping for a light and cute romance novel.

Overall, I was glad to experience a new author and would read more from her.

3.5 flight stars!

Huge thank you to Berkley and Netgalley for the advanced arc.

TW: Physical abuse

This was my first Samantha Young book, so I wasn't sure what I was expecting going into it. I know her previous books are pretty popular. I didn't love this book I found it good but not great. I really didn't like the love interest, he eventually grew on me as the book progressed but I still disliked his personality.

This story follows Ava Breevort who is flying back to Boston after attending the funeral of her childhood friend, Gem. She has a unpleasant encounter at the airport with another traveler Caleb Scott, a rude Scot who steals her spot in line and grabs the last first class seat on the plane. They end up sitting next to each another and spend most of their flight bickering .After all there unpleasant exchanges it somehow leads to these two spending the night together while on a layover.Once back in Boston fate throws them together again, where they decide to carry on with a no-strings-attached relationship. Ava and Caleb might hate each other, but the tension and there attraction towards each other made there encounters very passionate.

Ava Breevort: I loved Ava! She is a beautiful interior designer at a small company. She is feisty, confident but had some self esteem issues, people have been telling her entire life how beautiful she is, making her feel like that's all she is. I love how she kept putting Caleb in his place and didn’t put up with all his crap! She is a loyal and trusting friend. Her friendship with Harper was one of my favorite parts of the book. Even though Harper goes through something traumatic later in story, Ava is right there supporting her friend.

Caleb Scott: This guy was definitely an alpha-male, tall, scruffy and tattooed. He is rude and some of the things he says were just really mean. As the story progressed we do understand what has lead him to be this way, but just because you were hurt in the past doesn't mean you now get to be an awful human being. He is sweet at times and he does care about Ava, but he is scared of getting to close to he is mean to guard his own heart.

Fight or Flight is a hate-to-love romance, which is many favorite trope, I just wasn't feeling it for these two. I did enjoy the writing and the character development, and I will probably read another book by this author in the future. It was a pretty fast read and it was enjoyable. There were some really good writing in there, and some very well built tension and characters. But I didn't love it.

I gave this a 3.5 stars. This book is set to release on October 16 2018.

you know that gif of emma stone going 'THIS IS THE BEST' with her hands in the air? that's me right now.

THIS WAS FANTASTIC.

if you like:
hate to love
any kind of anything where they are forced in close proximity for a little while
alpha broody grumpy guys
strong heroines
fantastic side characters
perfect mix of light hearted fun and serious stuff
and all around just good romance?

you need this in your life.

and you know what i need in my life? harper's book. or jamie's book. or how bout a book WITH BOTH OF THEM squeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

in all seriousness, this book. GAH. FEELINGS.

if you read romance, you probably like your HEAs. SAME. i know what i am getting and i like that. but you know sometimes how you are reading a romance and you think 'i *know* i am going to get my HEA but honest to zeus do not know how we are getting there right now' - you know? i don't feel that a whole lot. but i love it. and gosh. i felt so many feelings with this. i felt all the uncertainty, i felt the heartbreak - my husband looked over at me during that scene in the shower when she's heartbroken and asked me what the heck was wrong, i was that distraught.

i LOVED this. i hope we get more of caleb and ava in books following this one, I HOPE THIS IS GOING TO BE A SERIES I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED IT.

i do understand some of the negative reviews in regards to caleb being rude, especially to wait staff. just because ava came to understand and accept that, doesn't mean we or the fictional wait staff ever did.. but i guess i can look past certain things like that in books because it's definitely more authentic. i could have handled a wee bit more grovelling from caleb, but i really don't have any strong complaints. caleb was definitely a jerk and crossed the asshole line a couple times, however, i love hate to love for many reasons i won't go into here and i do feel like sometimes people read hate to love even though they don't understand or like it, and then they hate it... i stay away from friends to lovers because it irritates me. i only read friends to lovers from trusted authors. so i just don't get reading a trope you know you won't like or understand, you know?

this is my 3rd or 4th samantha young book, i read and liked on dublin street years ago, wasn't the biggest fan of hero, LOVED Villain... but this, this might be tippy top. loved it so hard.

thank you so much netgalley and publisher!! i will be buying this book when it comes out and recommending it to all my romance loving friends.

I agree with all the negative reviews at netgalley. The sexy Scottish faux accent is not enough for me to make up for Caleb's rudeness in almost every circumstance. Being rude to wait staff and other service industry employees would make me want to punch someone in the throat.. His arrogance towards Ava is inexcusable and the even worse things other reviewers mentioned which I hadn't quite gotten to yet would have been the cherry on the shit cake. I'd wanted to try this author for a while but this isn't the book for me.

This book was absolutely incredible. The author wove a story with the main character, her past life, and her current life that cannot be matched in most of todays romance books post 50 shades. I instantly fell in love with Caleb and his hardened exterior! He was the best part of the book for me. There were parts that were not needed like the visit from Nick. All in all, i would not be mad if Samantha Young wanted to write another book about Harper and Jamie. Here is to hoping!

The innocent looking cover, two people seen through the windows of an airplane, fooled me into thinking this was going to be a light enemies-to-lovers romance. I did not expect things to burn as hot as they did between Ava and Caleb. Hel----lo.

I ripped through most of the book in a single night, the getting to know each other phase and the fun part of the relationship was steamy and thoroughly entertaining. Ava’s backstory and baggage is well-developed, Caleb’s a little less so. My one quibble is the conflict comes pretty late in the book, almost too late for me, so it was like whiplash from conflict to HEA.

It was my first Samantha Young, but it won't be my last. Fingers crossed we see follow on books with the secondary characters.
