This is my second book that I have ready by Lisa Harris and I really enjoyed this story. She has a way of captivating you and bringing you into the story right away. The reason I did not give this 5 stars is the subject of the "grid" and the reason behind the suspense did not resonate with me.
I loved the characters and I loved that time and where they were in life brought them back together at the right time. Grace's story was heart wrenching and then everything she did to help with the case showed her strength and courage.
I enjoyed seeing Nate work through his trauma and PTSD alongside the case and with Grace. He also showed strength and courage and ultimately love.
Lisa intertwined their stories very well and provided the perfect amount of suspense. I only wish the reason they were running was for something more intriguing or something I was a little more familiar with.
Overall great read. Thank you to Netgalley for providing this copy.

I am reviewing a copy of A Secret to Die For through Revell and Netgalley:
Grace Callahan is a psychologist who has no idea that she has a secret, a secret that is worth killing for. But when she discovers one of her clients were murdered she comes to realize that the computer security specialist wasn't simply suffering from paranoia.
Nate Quinn is a detective who has just been cleared for active duty after a bombing killed eighteen people, including his partner, causing him to suffer from PTSD. For his first case back on the job involves the murder of Stephen Shaw and his only lead is his old friend Grace Callahan and her life is in grave danger. Someone believes Shaw gave Grace information, information they are willing to care for.
I give A Secret to Die For five out of five stars!

I received this book as a gift and all opinions are my own.
The plot of this book is unique. It's always interesting when the main character knows she has a vital part in saving the world but has no idea what that part may be. She continually finds herself in bad, life threatening situations. The characters were well developed and the plot moved along quite nicely. It was a bit preachy near the end. But the content was sound. It was refreshing to read a book with little to no typos or errors.
This book will captivate you from the beginning as you go along with Nate who is a detective trying to solve a murder. Investigation. He meets up with Grace who used to be one of his closests friends. Follow the story as they learn about what each other has experienced over the past years to make them the person they are today. Excellent mystery with a touch of romance thrown in.
I was given this book free by Revell and Net Galley for my honest review.
Harris writes the perfect combinations of suspense and romantic interest. She includes just the right amount of intrigue between leading characters to satisfy my need for romance in all books.
I was really impressed with Gracie in this book. I love strong female leads and she was just that. She has such a clear head and is quite good at being a step ahead of everyone else. I also loved Nate. He is my favorite type of hero. He is strong, but also patient. I was really impressed with his clear thinking too.
This book kept me guessing on who was behind the crimes. I love it when I can't figure out who the bad guys are. I also love it when it turns out to be more complicated than I expected. This book provided both. And it moved so fast I hardly realized when it was coming to an end.
I would recommend her books especially to people who like Lynette Eason.
I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
There are a group of authors who I can count on every time I pick up their book. Lisa Harris is one of those writers and A Secret to Die For did not disappoint me.
The characters were well written, and I appreciated the way the heroine, Grace Callahan, handled being divorced after a tragic event destroyed her marriage. Nate Quinn is working through his own PTSD issues while trying to protect Grace.
The story is filled with action and yet balances romance in a realistic way as Grace and Nate are reunited after years of being apart. When one of Grace’s patients is murdered, she and Nate are thrust into uncovering the truth behind conspiracy theories and crazed accounts.
The twists are unexpected, and the book had me flipping pages long into the evening. Lisa Harris always delivers a great story and A Secret to Die For was no exception.
This is a wonderful book filled with suspense and romance. There are a lot of twists and turns. Grace and Nate become reunited after losing touch after college. Nate must protect Grace after she helps one of her patients. I really love this author and her stories. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
This was a very action packed novel. But even after saying that, the romance was not diluted for the action. It was a good balance of it all. It was an interesting mystery and I enjoyed the book.
This novel is full of suspense, mystery, problem solving, romance and so much more. If you enjoy current day, FBI/Police mysteries you will enjoy this novel.

Story Notes
Lisa Harris delivers to her readers a tense story that includes suspense, secrets and murder that will keep you guessing as you dash towards the last page.
Lisa Harris is not one of the biggest names in Suspense fiction – yet. I have no doubt she will definitely climb her way steadily into the spotlight if she continues with the excellent writing she has presented thus far. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors as she pays great attention to detail. I can tell that she uses past criticisms of her work to drive her desire to write the best stories possible, given her story development has improved with each book of hers I’ve read. It is hard to create a new story with a new angle without borrowing too much from other authors and I believe Ms. Harris is dealing well with this issue. She begins this story with an invasion at the home of Grace Callahan, a divorced Psychologist. She has suffered much grief in her life and is finally starting to put her life back together and make it on her own. Prepared by her father for the possibility of an intruder, Grace escapes from her home, but not before hearing the intruder demand she give him the “key” supposedly given to her by her client, Stephen Shaw. Unable to draw any conclusions from this odd request, Grace contacts law enforcement to make a report. When detectives arrive, Grace is immediately put on her guard and suspects a bigger problem. And when they reveal that Shaw has been found dead, Grace’s mind races to recall all he told her in their sessions. The lead detective on the case is Nate Quinn, former best friend of Grace’s ex-husband, Kevin. Nate is determined to discover what happened and will need all the help Grace can provide to locate all the clues Shaw left behind. He is recovering from a devastating loss caused by his last case on the job which cost him his team and his partner. But as Nate and Grace begin to uncover all that Shaw was involved in, the danger also increases. Those responsible will not stop with murder if it will get them what they want. The problem is, every lead turns into another puzzle to solve and they are running out of time to stop the biggest terrorist attack on US infrastructure to date. And everyone involved is not as they seem, making it even more difficult for Nate and Grace to discover who is behind all the crimes. Edging ever closer to the guilty parties, they are also growing closer to each other and finding that putting trust in one another is the only way they will be able to truly put their pasts behind them. And maybe, even find the love which both of them have been looking for. I really enjoyed the tense drama that was tightly threaded throughout the chapters of this story. The sense of danger and the threat of destruction drive this story at a good pace without making it seem rushed. There were moments of slowness that might have been improved but I know its also beneficial to keep a story from being so overloaded with tension as to make it annoying to read. There was a fair amount of character development throughout the story but I think there should be more. It almost seems like this should have a sequel to delve deeper into the main characters faith and personal growth. Perhaps this story will continue with the main focus on another character but still allow further glimpses into those presented here. The technical side of the story was very well done – keeping the essential descriptions of what was happening while leaving out the detailed processes that could make a story too overwhelming. I have a techie brother and the topics covered in this story are definitely in his wheelhouse, but not in mine. I appreciated the way Ms. Harris was able to make the terms and processes understandable so that the danger she was conveying was felt. In a world that is ever evolving in the area of technology, this story showcases how technology can be used to harm rather than improve, a terrifying reality if one really thinks about it. I am hopeful Ms. Harris will follow this story up with one that focuses on Nate’s partner Paige. She was interesting to read about and could easily carry her own story. I will certainly recommend this book to others as it was a great read that I’m also planning to add to my bookshelves. Looking forward to Ms. Harris’ next adventure!
I received this E-book free of charge from Revell Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I will receive no fiscal compensation from either company for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.
Lisa Harris has long been a must-read author for me. She always presents an intriguing mystery filled with all the suspenseful elements I desire. Along with that, Harris writes believable and relatable characters that by the end of the book seem like old friends. She does not disappoint in her latest novel, A Secret to Die For. This book is a recommended read.
A Secret to Die For starts with a bang and the fast-paced action never lets up throughout the course of the novel. If you like your suspense high-octane, then you’ll love this book. Threats to main characters Grace and Nate seem unrelenting, but I was especially intrigued by the bigger threat to the nation as cyber-terrorism unfolds. The author creates a credible scenario that made me wish I had a few more supplies on hand! While I always love the suspense-filled ride Harris takes me on, I also appreciate the realistic romantic relationship that develops between the main characters. There are complications from their recent pasts that keep them wary making me really believe the feelings that they have. The two have faced losses and are reluctant to be vulnerable again. While Grace’s faith seems solidly established, Nate struggles with trusting God. He has doubts that all believers can identify with. The big question examined is can God be trusted when no answers seem to be forthcoming. Harris does a good job at balancing the religious themes with an entertaining story. The result is a great novel for fans of inspirational fiction.
I really liked A Secret to Die For and am confident you will too.
Recommended.
Audience: adults.
Grace is a psychologist whose client was found murdered. She runs into an old college friend, Detective Nate, when he is assigned the murder case. Grace never thought she'd never be able to give her heart to another after losing her husband to divorce when he was unable to deal with the death of their young daughter.
As the story unfolds, Grace realizes her dead client wasn't as paranoid as she'd thought. While he thought he was working, secretly, for the FBI, he discovered he was, instead, working for some bad people. As in, very bad people. People who want to take down the country's power grid.
Unfortunately, for Grace, these bad people believe her client gave her vital information they need to complete their quest. Grace has no idea what it is they want or believe her to have. But, they want it badly enough to kill for it.
Good story, but I did have a difficult time with the police's incompetence. After knowing these people had already murdered at least one person, Nate takes Grace, alone, to the bank to retrieve the contents of her deceased client's safety deposit box. And, that wasn't the only blunder on their part. Those things just made the story a little unbelievable. But, overlooking that, it was a good story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book was fantastic! I really loved the nail-biting suspense, the well written plot and of course the characters, especially Grace. I know that both the story and the characters are fiction and this specific story never happened; however it still broke my heart when I read about how Grace lost her daughter and then her husband in such a short period of time, but it was so encouraging to read about God pulling her out of her despair and helping her to use her experiences to help others. This is one of those stories that capture your attention from the first page and doesn't let go until the very last word and I would recommend this book to everyone. Overall I think that this book is definitely a "Must Read" and give it 5 out of 5 stars. *****
Psychologist Grace Callahan has no idea that she has a secret--one worth killing for. But when she finds out one of her clients has been murdered, she quickly realizes that the computer security specialist wasn't simply suffering from paranoia.
Detective Nate Quinn has just been cleared for active duty after a bombing killed eighteen people, including his partner, and left him dealing with PTSD. His first case back on the job involves the murder of Stephen Shaw, and his only lead turns out to be an old friend, Grace Callahan--and her life is in grave danger. Someone believes Shaw gave his psychologist information before he died. Information they are willing to kill for.
With her signature pulse-pounding suspense, Lisa Harris takes readers deep into the heart of fear in this race against the clock.
Right from the beginning this book grabs you. Grace is at a vulnerable time as the story unfolds. Nate is also recovering from a very traumatic time in his life. Grace has come to terms with God after her tragedy. Nate is struggling with answers. The reconnect after years and its like they have never parted. The problem is neither one think they are ready to let anybody else into their lives. All that will have to go on hold as Nate tries to protect Grace from the people trying to kill her. This is an edge of your seat mystery. Ms. Harris does it again. I highly recommend this book.
I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
This book is a solid 4 & 1/2 stars for me. I enjoyed getting to know Grace and Nate and their struggles and heartaches. Their losses and how they dealt with them spoke to me on a personal level as I have dealt with the deaths of two of my best friends, so that was an aspect of the book that I liked a lot. The premise of the book and what Grace and Nate are rushing to stop was more than a little scary to picture happening in reality but made for an exciting and captivating read. This was an easy read and kept me interested through out the novel. Highly recommend! My hubby will be reading it soon!
This is a fast paced crime drama. The plot involving the dark side if international cyber crimes, kept me engaged until the very end. The descriptions of the characters make them feel very real.
There were a few predictable points. Why does every suspense novel involve a car chase that cause the main characters to run off the road? That and I had who the figured out ‘bad guy’ was early on in the story.
My is the first novel by Lisa Harris that I’ve read and it will not be the last. This adrenaline laced romantic suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
I’m a fan of Lisa Harris! She consistently delivers non-stop action, a bit of romance, and real (often hurting) characters in each of her stories. A Secret to Die For is no exception.
Grace Callahan is finding her footing again after a tragedy and the subsequent fallout. Nick Quinn is back at work after surviving a hotel bombing in Dallas. When circumstances bring these two college friends together again, they race to find answers and thwart a catastrophe.
While the suspense was terrific in this book and kept the story moving at a fast clip, it was Grace’s and Nick’s personal stories that made this story for me. Grace’s loss is soul-deep and on a day that promises to be a difficult one, she’s thrown into an even worse nightmare. Nick’s wounds are deep too. As these two race to find save lives, can they find their footing together?

Once I turned the first page I was gone, be ready for a fast-paced action packed read. You will never see most of what happens coming, and yet it is one of those being at the right place at the right time happenings.
The author does a wonderful job of keeping your attention, from beginning to end, and the title sure pulled me in, and you will quickly know how the title applies, and when you learn what is happening it could be so true.
There is a bit of sweet romance, not knowing what you’re looking for, and maybe an end to life as we know it, yes this is just a few of the happenings in this book.
I received this book through Revell Publishing, and was not required to give a positive review.
