Shelly Laurenston is so underrated and I don't know why! All her books never miss and I can always count on her for a funny and entertaining read. She is one of the best romance writers out there who seamlessly incorporates love into some incredible wacky and outrageous plots. More people need to pick up her shifter romances! If you haven't read anything by her the Badger series is a great place to start.

I did not enjoy Stevie and Shen's story as much as I did Charlie and Berg's but it was still wildly entertaining. I find all of the shenanigans to be utterly hilarious and while it can be difficult to keep up with all of the POV switches, once you're settled in the zany world of shifters, they just serve to keep the plot moving at a breakneck speed. I can't wait to continue with the series and to dive into the author's back catalogue as well. 4 out 5 wine glasses.

I love the whole world of characters that Shelly Laurenston has created. Great humor and adventure. Action packed and never dull. I wish I was apart of The Shifter world. It well written and a reader gets the best of a great story about family drama and how crazy it can be in a shifter world.

I absolutely loved Hot and Badgered and I can’t wait to read Stevie’s now, especially after this little preview! It was a great start and I’m so excited to see where we go next!

This was just the excerpt of the larger book. Please see the full story for my feedback and full review. *note, I care like it when partial stories are released like this.

I enjoyed catching up with the MacKilligan sisters and getting into the nitty gritty of who each of them are. Charlie continues to be the protector while Max keeps being her trouble-maker self. However, it was getting to see other sides of Stevie that really kept me intrigued. She was not only smart and beautiful, she was funny and something else altogether. And when she set her sight on Shen, she was hilarious in her pursuit of the panda.

Shen was perfect. Cute, sexy and very chill (most of the time), Shen was a refreshing character to read. He fit right in with the sisters and like them, when Stevie found herself in danger, he was fiercely protective of her.

Once again the action was non-stop with an abundance of humor and a slow burn romance that once it began, sparks flew. I admit, I thought Stevie and Shen were an unlikely pair at the beginning, but leave it to Shelly Laurenston to convict me otherwise!

I loved Stevie and Shen together. Who knew this pair would be so hot together?! I wish I'd gotten to see more of their sexy times, but the author more than made up for it by including plenty of interactions between these two to convince me of their romance.

All in all, I had a blast reading this book and can't wait to see what more is in store for these ladies.

The item I received here was only a sample of the full book. I have read all of Shelly Laurenston's books and happily snapped up even the samples of her books.

This sample fully hooked me on buying the full book. I really hope that the Shelly Laurenston explores the world of fiesty badgers.

Shelly Laurenston has a completely unique voice that I’m not sure I’ve ever read anything close to similar to. Her female characters in particular are incredibly strong, and I’m sure some would say unlikeable, but I love them. In this one Stevie is afraid of herself and what embracing her true self could potentially mean. She’s a honey badger shifter – and if you’ve read the first book, you know that means she’s truly the bizarre of the shifter world. Just willing to go completely out there, but she’s also afraid of who she may hurt which she’s in that form.
I love the relationship with Stevie and her sisters – they love and hate each other, like real like family does so often. And her relationship to therapy seemed very realistic to me as well with the push and pull of both wanting to get better, but also being afraid of the work and the possibility of changing. Her relationship with Shen Li was hilarious and touching. I can’t wait for what’s next in this series.

Wow - the MacKilligan sisters are back! This book focuses on Stevie and Shen but you also get a whole lot of her sisters, Max and Charlie, along with previous characters that are so much fun - the VanHolts, DeeAnn, Cella, and more.

It really is fun to read this when you have read the previous books and I think that you could read this book without reading the others but it is way easier to get a handle on all the characters when you have previous knowledge of the character's quirks. Like the scene when Blayne hugs Stevie, if you knew what Blayne was like, you can see that is totally a Blayne thing!!

The book is just non-stop action as they are either fixing something after Stevie goes crazy or trying to stop an evil scientist. It is just to great to have a set of sisters that are so under estimated and can really handle any situation! The scene when Stevie is captured and everyone thinks that there is no chance for escape...lol... they don't know Stevie!

The other part that I love is that Stevie can excel at things when you don't expect it! The Wild Dogs night was so so funny!!

I want those evil twins taken care of, hope that is in the next book, and of course their father. He needs to get taken care of, also.

The Honey Badger Chronicles is Shelly Laurenston at her best! If you are looking for a new paranormal series you won't be disappointed.

Petite, kind, brilliant, and young, Stevie is nothing like the usual women bodyguard Shen Li is interested in. Even more surprising, the youngest of the lethal, ball-busting, and beautiful MacKilligan sisters is terrified of bears. But she’s not terrified of pandas. She loves pandas. Which means that whether Shen wants her to or not, she simply won’t stop cuddling him. He isn’t some stuffed Giant Panda, ya know! He is a Giant Panda shifter. He deserves respect and personal space. Something that little hybrid is completely ignoring. But Stevie has a way of finding trouble. Like going undercover to take down a scientist experimenting on other shifters. For what, Shen doesn’t want to know, but they’d better find out. And fast. Stevie might be the least violent of the honey badger sisters, but she’s the most dangerous to Shen’s peace of mind. Because she has absolutely no idea how much trouble they’re in . . . or just how damn adorable she is.
I just love this author’s books! She has the best way of writing quirky characters that I absolutely love! This book was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend.

Shelly Laurenston's honey badgers are a ridiculously good time - and whether you are reading or listening to them, they can't help but make you smile. It's hard to believe this is only the second book in the series, because these seem like beloved characters that have been around for a while.

In this second installment, In a Badger Way, our three misfit honey badger sisters (Max, Charlie and Stevie) are still living in a neighborhood of grizzly bears for their own safety. This story sees them, once again, protecting one another while trying to figure out exactly from where the danger is coming. I love the relationship between these sisters, whether they are fighting like banshees or bonding over horror movies. Charlie has taken on an overly protective motherly role. Max is still a mad sociopath. And Stevie is the youngest and most babied of the group... but isn't as vulnerable as her sisters treat her.

Our romantic entanglement in this story is between Stevie, a badger/tiger hybrid, and Shen Li, a giant panda shifter. Stevie is a highly strung, genius prodigy in both music and science, and Shen is her opposite in about every way as a laid-back sports enthusiast more interested in munching bamboo. But Shen's calmness is just what Stevie needs to help her manage her anxiety and distract her when things get too intense. And Stevie is what Shen needs, a sweetly pushy female to prod him into the relationship. I thought they were a great complement to one another, and they had good chemistry.

I also enjoy all of the secondary characters in this series. From jackals to lions to bears (oh my), each species adds something fun and humorous to the story. I love that so many of the characters are psychotic killers and masochists (in a fun way)... and their arrogance and sometimes obliviousness slays me. Providing POVs for so many characters can't be easy, but Laurenston pulls it off with ease and I like getting so many different looks at the same story and situations.

WANTED MORE IMMEDIATELY! Loved this teaser... I hated that it wasn't the full story because this is my favorite series Laurenston has done to date!

Nice! I enjoyed this one. Plot had a few holes but nevertheless a win. A favorite author of mine indeed!

Although I was not expecting this to be a sampler, it definitely left me wanting more of Stevie and Shen. I can't WAIT to read the rest of the story!!

This is one of the most craziest books I have read in a while. The series is focusing on three sisters and Stevie has to be the craziest of them. She is a lethal badger shifter that has attracted the attention of a panda shifter, Shen Li.

There is more violence in this book than I normally like. I kind of ignored it because I liked the way the book was written. It a slow build to romance for Stevie and Shen Li.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you!

This book was so freaking hilarious! I loved the first book, and yeah, I was really looking forward to reading this book. And it didn't disappoint, I really enjoyed Stevie and Shen, they were a great couple, thought they were unconventional.

I'm planning on reading the prequel series. I really think I have to, because from skimming the synopsis' of those books, those characters are showing up in this series, and with everything that's going on, it is a little confusing.

There were a few things going on. There's Stevie's ex who is though to be doing evil experiments on other shifters. There's Stevie's anxiety and lack of control over her shifted self and thus wanting to get rid of that self. And there's a death in the family, which means the Irish side of the MacKilligans as well as the girls' dad. So much going on!

I really enjoyed the relationship she and Shen have. Like, she just tells him that they're dating, and that's it. It's pretty hilarious! And as he's a panda, the most adorable of bears and thus won't eat her, he doesn't make her panic, and he calms her down. I really enjoyed them together!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more of this series!

Shelly Laurenston is the author of a long-running series of hilarious books about shape-shifters. (She also writes about dragon-shifters as G.A. Aiken.) Laurenston is known for her off-the-wall characters who can shift into lions, wolves, bears, etc. In a Badger Way is Book Two of the Honey Badger Chronicles about the three MacKilligan sisters — beautiful, smart, and crazy-lethal.

Stevie is a genius. Ever since she was a child and her prodigious intellect became known, she has been sought after by governments, underworld figures, and assassins. Her older sisters Charlie and Max have been keeping her protected — and soothed — all her life. Despite all her talents, Stevie battles crippling anxiety and panic attacks. And when Stevie gets into a full-blown attack, she can’t control her shifting or the dangerous hybrid creature she becomes.

Stevie’s young friend Kyle is staying with the sisters for a while to give his jackal family a break from the obnoxious teen. With him is Shen Li, a panda-shifter and Kyle’s bodyguard.

With all the craziness going on at the sisters’ house, Shen is a laid-back source of calm. He is content to live in the moment, maybe while enjoying some bamboo snacks. Stevie is drawn to his confident serenity and decides the handsome shifter will be her boyfriend, much to Shen’s surprise and confusion. But whenever she smiles at him, he feels a zing.

Stevie is drawn into a dangerous investigation of a lion scientist she used to date; he is suspected of conducting lethal experiments on hybrid shifters. She agrees to help but is also curious to know whether he has figured out a way to change hybrids, to “fix them.” Stevie is acutely aware that she is only a panic attack away from being a danger to others and is ashamed of her lack of control.

For all the joyful zaniness of her characters, Laurenston can also cover some heavy topics amid the hilarity and action. Mental health issues are addressed as Stevie works toward self-acceptance with the love and support of her sisters and Shen.

In a Badger Way is a fun silly read that entertains from start to finish.

We get a sweet and cuddly Panda shifter hero (Shen) and a slightly psycho Badger hybrid heroine (Stevie). Both characters are really likable and well written. I enjoyed Shen's constant crunching and Stevie's phobias and anxiety. I felt like the characters belong together and enjoyed their road to happily ever after.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance with a supernatural comedic theme..
