In a Badger Way - 5 stars
Thank you netgalley for the ARC of an excerpt of In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston. . This is Honey Badgers #2' it is Stevie's and Shen ( the panda bodyguard ) story. I can not wait for the quips, funny dialogue, sarcasm and HONEY BADGERS!! In addition, I am very excited that they brought back the old narrator of the series; it just makes everything better.
I can't wait for March 26th! I'm a big Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken fan. I think I've read all of her shifter series, which I really enjoyed and I read the first book in this new honey badger series. Ms. Laurenston is great at constructing interesting characters, all of whom have a few flaws. (Like us normal folks.) Reading this preview has me super excited for when I can read the complete book. Cue Honey Badger happy dance!
I received a free copy of an excerpt from In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston in exchange for an honest review. This appears to be Stevie MacKilligan and Shen Li’s story. The excerpt gives some more backstory on Stevie and also allows us a peek at what’s going on in Shen’s head as most of the current events are told from his viewpoint. In the snippet, Stevie is in the middle of a meltdown; she knows this is unreasonable behavior and wants to calm down, but she can’t. Shen is the only responsible adult around at the time, so he comes up with a plan to resolve the Stevie situation. I love these books, and this one looks like it is going to be fantastic. I anxiously await the publication of the full novel.

This excerpt was amazing and wonderful and yet disappointing because i am now waiting on the edge of my seat for the full book. March cant come fast enough. Shelly Laurenston is a master at creating complex characters that make you want to fall in love with them.
Loved it! Even though it was just a sneaky peek at the book, I was engaged from page one. Stevie is such an interesting character and I'm handing on my thread for March to get here so I can get my honey badger fix, Lol! This series promises to be amazing and from the snippet we get, book 2 will definitely live up the all the hype I'm feeling right now.
I'm really looking forward to this book being released in full, but I did enjoy getting to read a teaser. Laurenston is one of my favourite writers, one of the few that I reread. I enjoy the humour, hockey, and general insanity. I've recommended her previous books to friends in the past.
MacKilligans! I need it to be 2019 already so I can finish Stevie's book. The excerpt provided by NetGalley was such a tease. C'mon, she's a hybrid part honey badger shifter prodigy with a panic disorder and he's a happy go lucky giant panda shifter bodyguard - the world needs their story!
Hot and Badgered was one of my favorites from Shelly Laurenston (disclaimer: I'll read almost anything by Shelly Laurenston) and I can't wait for more from the ragey but loving MacKilligan sisters. It looks like the Van Holtzes and Jean-Louis Parker packs make wonderfully weird appearances as well. There are unnamed bears in the excerpt so I'm hoping for more of the Dunn triplets.
To be honest, my favorite of the MacKilligans is Max. I need it to be 2019 so we can get Stevie's book and then be that much closer to Max's, please and thank you.
Note: I voluntarily read and reviewed the excerpt of In a Badger Way generous provided by NetGalley and the publisher.
Thank you Netgalley and Kensington Books for this ARC. I knew this was only a brief glimpse of "In a badger way"; I didn't care! I love Shelly's shifter series so much and her previous book Hot and badgered, I just wanted to read anything while waiting for it to be published. We were introduced to the MacKilligan sisters in Hot and badgered and now it's brilliant but panic-stricken Stevie's turn to step up to the plate. I have loved bambo smacking Shen Li since he was introduced in Bite me! Stevie is terrifed of bears...and Shen is a Panda bear shifter....can't wait to read more!!!!
From the excerpt, this book promises to be just as good as the first one. Loved that prologue! Sadly, it is need keeping me in suspense about what Stevie was about to do. Can’t wait until this book comes out and I can read it in Full.
I didn't read the description carefully enough so I was unaware that we only get the prologue and the first chapter. Bummer, I was really excited to read this book. I am still excited but now just have to wait until March 2019. I have not read a Shelly Laurenston book in years but I have not forgotten how funny her stories are. Just the snippet we got in this teaser I can tell it is going to be a good one, but I have so many questions! Just from reading the synopsis, I am already going to love the thought of the honey badger wanting to cuddle a panda, how fun is that going to be! I definitely need to check out the first book in this series, Hot and Badgered.
I received the prologue and first chapter of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
I devoured this teaser very quickly. It was action packed, funny and crazy as all get out. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading the rest of the book.
**Review of teaser chapters!
OMG I need the rest. I've been a fan of Ms. Laurenston since the Mangus pack and I just love the honey badgers. I've read each book at least 3 or 4 times and this one will be no different!
this a good first chapter. I will have a better review when the final book shows up. This is about one of the three sisters who are honey Badgers. this one is about Stevie who is very smart and high strung. It will be another good story about the world Shelly Laurenston has created.
I don’t even care that we got a small tease. I can’t wait for this one! These 3 sisters are awesome!! I like that we got more of Kyle, he cracks me up. I can’t wait fir March!
This short excerpt from In a Badger Way, provides a taste of the fun that is to be expected from this series. Enjoyable and outrageous, the story promises fun, fun, fun. Stevie has some major issues and it falls to the big panda shifter, Shen to sort them out. I almost pitched a hissy fit because this was such a small part of the story and now I have to wait until March to read the rest of it. Must call on my last reserves of patience to wait this out, good thing it promises to be an excellent read. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review excerpt from Netgalley.
I've only got to read an excerpt from the book, the first chapter but it is good and has me wanting the whole book now! I can't wait for the full book!!
Perhaps reading the preview so far in advance of the book's release was a bad idea because now I absolutely cannot wait for Stevie and Shen's book! The exceedingly brilliant and anxious Stevie intrigued me in Hot and Badgered. Genius is too tame a word for her and when you mix that with her tiger/honey badger side, history, and anxiety it's clear she's going to be one explosive heroine. Her catlike behavior made me laugh in the preview. And Shen... Oh, I love the panda already. His panda side made me grin and as I've never read about a panda shifter before I cannot wait to see how his nature plays out. He and Stevie are sure to be a fun couple and I seriously want to read In a Badger Way ASAP.
Seriously. One chapter again. Great intro to the next in the badger series. A look into the childhood of the girls a little bit. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this chapter from Netgalley.
Bring on the full book, I can't wait it sounds awesome! Love these shitner books of Shellys, much more than the dragon books. Can't stand those or the Viking books
A teaser?? A TEASER?!? Noooooo!! I Need More!! Lol! I F'Love Shelly Laurenston and her shifters....especially those crazy honey badgers. I cannot wait to read the whole book.
Ummm...is it March yet?
