I don’t want to get too much into how wonderful I thought this book was, but oh damn, it was gooood. I really really enjoyed the first book in the series, Rock King, and I was excited to check out the rest of the band and get to know them. Rock Legend follows drummer Landon Cox, a man who had a rough upbringing. The child of addicts and a product of the foster system, his troubled past makes him into the man he is today. He pushes people away from having deep, meaningful relationship.

I was not much of a fan of Piper in the first book, but we didn’t really get to know her that well. She really grew on me in this book and proved me wrong. She was strong, determined to make it in a tough industry and I really loved her. She and Landon had been together in college and she thought he was the one. He had to choose between her and the band, and six years later Nothing But Trouble is one of the biggest bands out there. Now they’re brought back together because Piper works for their manager.

This book was beautifully written. Rock King was my first Tara Leigh book and I’m addicted. When I was reading this book, I honestly couldn’t put it down and finished it in one day. Landon stole my heart, I have a thing for bad boys in book apparently, and loved watching him and Piper as they get to know each other as adults instead of the kids they were six years ago. I highly recommend this series, especially if you love second chance and slow burn romances, beautiful writing, awesome bands, and lots and lots of angst and sexy times. I think I liked this one even more than the previous book, which is saying something because I loved Shane and Delaney’s story!

I love Rockstar romances and this one did not disappoint. I haven’t read the first book in the series, so I’m reading out of order. It is a standalone book and although characters of the previous book were mentioned as well as some of the situations, I don’t feel that Rock King was spoiled for me.

It’s a very steamy book, but I have to be honest, I skipped through some of the sex scenes because there were so many! I was very intrigued about the plot and wanted the answers so I skipped through some of the hotness. That’s why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The asexual scenes were just too close together maybe??

In general I liked the mystery and the plot twist, but I was quite frustrated with the characters’ push and pull. Landon and his negativity towards himself, and Piper’s issues were giving me whiplash.

I loved the ending and will definitely read more of this series!

Another great rock romance on the guys from Nothing But Trouble! The second book of the series is Landon’s story who happens to be the drummer of the group. Landon is the “Legend” not only for his mad drumming skills but also by being a “legend” onto all the women he beds. (the man has mad skills with that as well)

Before Landon the legend hit it big Nothing But Trouble was playing to bars and clubs but was given a chance at hitting it big. The only problem back then was that after being called to a meeting they were given an ultimatum with board a plane that very minute and leave the cell phones behind or they were being dropped... The guys knew this was their one chance of hitting it big especially with the backing they were getting so they all left without a word to anyone. The only problem at that time was that Landon had a woman he was falling in love with and he had no way of contacting her to let her know that he wouldn’t be coming back after his meeting. Piper thought the only thing she could…he walked out on her leaving her heart broken. Years later and the two finally meet again and with everything they both have had to deal with growing up it was hard to see that this second chance would ever work out.

I loved Landon and Piper’s story because it was full of surprises and a chemistry that was hot as h*ll. The childhoods they both had was sad and you wondered how they ever could come back and really be a functioning couple with any hope of a future. This series hasn’t lost a step…it started off great with book 1 and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Leigh will give us in the next book of their series.

Rock Legend is the second book in the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh, although it can be read as a standalone I would recommend reading the series in order so that you can follow each of the band-mates find their HEA's as they unfold since they are prevalent in each of the books.

I enjoyed Rock King, but I LOVED Rock Legend. Landon and Piper get their second chance at love in this book, but it is a long and bumpy road that the two must travel to get to their HEA. There were times that I honestly didn't think things would end well for them and wondered if we were going to be left with a cliffhanger. This book was not rushed at all, it just felt like they had one obstacle after another and the way they were pilling up....well it wasn't looking good for them.

Tara Leigh gutted me with the epilogue. I enjoyed the steamy read, even with all the obstacles sexy time was plentiful and HOT! But the epilogue had me crying like someone close to me was going through what was happening and I know it's because of the way the book was written. Tara Leigh pulled me in right from the very beginning and made me feel as if I was right there witnessing it all first hand as one of their closest friends would be, so yes I was balling like a baby for a while....even after I finished the book!

Once I completed the book I continued reading the Author's Note and I feel the need to share it with you because I wholeheartedly agree with what she says.

**Author's Note**
"Piper represents an all too common problem in our society - women clinging to the idea that they have to be perfect to be worthy of love.
No one is perfect.
To everyone reading this note - it is our differences and imperfections that make us who we are. Please, embrace them.
Life would be painfully boring if we were all the same."

Landon Cox is a legend! And he sure lives up to people's expectations. But despite it all, he's still human and has many flaws in his life behind his rockstar/drummer image. Sure, he's lived in fame and fortune with his band Nothing But Trouble, but his own troubled, fragile heart doesn't live like it used to.. All because of one Piper Hastings whom he's loved and lost.

Working for a Management company that caters to the very same rock band Landon is part of, Piper Hastings has done a great job of escaping Landon's attention. Until that one momentous day when she discovers her current boyfriend cheating on her. While she doesn't realize Fate seemed to have led them to each other, Piper is still adamant that Landon deserves nothing from her and that she's no longer invested with her feelings for him. If only those words were true...

For the second time around, I fell in love with Tara Leigh's writing and rockstar characters. They weren't perfect, but they're perfectly capable of captivating their audience (and readers alike). That's saying a lot about Tara Leigh. She's done a wonderful job keeping us readers in our toes, (mine particularly curling while swooning), and done an excellent job making us happy and satisfied, at least until the next book! Looking forward to more of Leigh's engrossing writings and awesome rockstars and their baes!

This is my first book from this author (even though it's the second book in the series). It's a second chance rock start book and I'm really pleased I picked it up. I loved the characters and the chemistry between them. Landon and Piper had to work hard to overcome their past and find their happiness. Now to start the first book and wait for the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this one, maybe even more than book one. I'm giving this 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.

I didn't really like Piper THAT much in book one, but I liked her in this book. Being able to see someone's life/circumstances can really change your opinion about them. I thought Landon was okay in the first book from what I remember, but once again, knowing his past endeared him to me even more.

I will say that I wasn't surprised by the "twist" in the plot; in fact I was expecting it from pretty much the beginning. I would have been more surprised if it didn't happen, but I still enjoyed reading this. If you like rock star romances, you'll probably like this one...although honestly there wasn't that much focus on the music/band. It was more just a second chance romance.

This book had some sad moments, and I found myself crying a little bit when I got hit with the feels. I can't wait for the next book in this series to be published, which looks like November, so you have some time to catch up on the series!

Piper and Delaney had known each other since nursery school. Piper had not been very nice to Delaney at times and had done nothing to deserve Delaney’s concern or friendship. Piper had secrets to keep and couldn’t afford to let her guard down for a minute. Being friends with a girl like Delaney - someone who cared about more than just clothing labels and boyfriend of the month- terrified Piper. Yet crazily enough Delaney was now Piper’s closest and only friend. Piper was a PR assistant for one of the hottest talent managers- Travis in Hollywood. Piper had yet to master work-life balance. Delaney was flying out to go to Nothing But Trouble’s show. Delaney’s boyfriend was Shane who was the frontman band. Travis ended up being the reason why Delaney and Piper reconnected. Once Delaney and Shane got together Piper was assigned to manage Delaney’s introduction to Shane’s possessive fans. Rock stars weren’t Piper’s thing - not anymore. Adam was Piper's ex as of twenty minutes ago. He showed up at her car and tapped on the window and Piper ignored him and drove away. Landon was the drummer for Nothing But Trouble and this was the most successful band of the decade. Landon was living the dream except when he wasn’t on stage or in the recording studio it was more of a nightmare. Landon had a lot of luggage he was carrying from his past. Yet he remembers the girl he had let get away her name was Piper and Landon had met Piper when she was a freshman in college they had two wonderful months together - the best of their lives so far. Piper even though Landon may be the one. But then Landon had to choose the band or Piper and Landon chose the band but had regretted that chose in the end. Landon had became a man whore who drank and used drugs a lot and slept with several women. Piper had grown up never doing enough or anything right as far as her father was concerned. Six years later and Piper is trying to keep her distance from Landon. But then after a concert Piper and Landon came face to face. Landon is totally surprised to see Landon yet oddly enough he finally felt whole whe he had felt something was missing and that something was Piper. After one of Landon’s very drunken nights Travis sent Piper to babysit Landon.
I enjoyed this book. I loved Piper and Landon together but at times I got frustrated with them. I liked the plot and the pace. I liked the surprises throughout the book. I like how we are shown why Landon and Piper are as they are. Landon always felt Piper deserved better than him. I felt bad for what piper and Landon had went through in their pasts. There is very hot chemistry between Landon and Piper. I advise you to read the first book in this series so everything runs smoothly as you read this. I would have liked to rate this 4.5. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

Rock on man! Rock King was fabulous, but Rock Legend was just plain amazing! I have been rooting for this couple since I first met them in the last book. Now, I have a thing for rocker stories or famous people. I don’t know, it’s kind of fun to see an upclose and personal story for people who I perceive as famous. Landon is on top of the world. He’s living large and enjoying all the privileges of the status he has worked hard for Rock Legend!

Piper is his ex. The one he walked away from to get that Rock Legend status. She’s cold and aloft after being burned by the man, boy, she was so in love with. Of course, after her cheating ex, she runs right into the man that broke her heart so completely previously. It was only a matter of time since she works for who manages his career.

Man, these two are like oil and water. Yet, they can’t fight the feelings swirling in them. And these two are so incredibly HAWT together! The author, Tara Leigh, created a story where you could just feel two people fighting to not want what they really want! This book gave me this pull… like I couldn’t stop reading! I expected a book that would come out with a bang but Rock Legend is a slow lovely burn. It builds up. It’s angsty. I love me a good second chance story at love. Piper and Landon deserve it!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

First of all, I liked the flow in this story much better than the one in the first book (Rock King) Rock Legend was easier to read and the ups and downs with the characters made it maybe a little more interesting too.
When I first started to read this book, I got a feeling I wouldn't end up liking this book so much as I liked Rock King. But after I read the last word, I realized I was completely wrong! I liked this book so much more.

Not what I expected. Which is good. I expected more drama and angst. More in your face frustration. This was more subtle. The anger the characters had was more at themselves and their situations. The angst was more frustration over misunderstandings and where they were in each others lives and with themselves.

Piper was a strong but vulnerable character. She was what Landon needed. She didn’t hold back her thoughts or words. Put him in his place when he needed it even if it would hurt both of them. She didn’t care about fame or fortune. Just being with someone who loved her. Landon did but he didn’t love himself. Piper was always trying to be perfect to gain love and with Landon she didn’t need to be.

Landon was a drummer who harbored some serious guilt from something in the past. So much so that he pushed people away and numbed his pain with alcohol, drugs and woman. Only there was one woman who he never got out of his mind and heart-Piper. On the outside he seemed arrogant and demonstrative. On the inside he was kind, caring, a marshmallow and self destructive. He was destroying himself because of a moment in time long ago. Only Piper helped him feel alive and worthy of anything. He had a tough childhood until he came into the Cox’s home and that is where his guilt and self loathing stems from. Piper made him feel he was more like the Cox’s did only he can’t forgive himself. They understood each other and were the other’s lobster.

Only they had so many obstacles to overcome and that is what we see in this book. All the obstacles they face and journey through. Landon’s journey was the longest and the one with the most demons and darkness. It took a long road for him to realize his feelings and what he needed to do before he could be whole again. He lived so long with guilt, denial and self hatred that it was hard for him to stop. Stop being who he wasn’t and fight for himself and what he wanted-a family and love. He will capture your heart but also frustrate you with his stubbornness.

The attraction between the two was palpable and really sucked you into their story more. Their story isn’t easy but a long hard road writhed with heartbreak, misunderstandings, truths to be faced and demons to slay. We get Piper’s and Landon’s view and each will draw you in. They give a complete picture no holds bar on what they are feeling and going through. The feelings they are having are raw and you will feel for them at different times. You also root for them to make it and especially Landon. You so want him to be the man that Piper sees and we see glimpses of because he is just hurting so much and so lost that you want him to find himself once again.

The story is well written, emotional and draws you into their journey of self discovery, forgiveness of themselves and their pasts, moving on, letting go and finding love that is never ending and worth making the hard choices and fighting for.

This is a terrific second book in a great rocker series. Love those bad boys of Nothing but Trouble! Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll are themes in the story but at its heart is a beautiful second chance at love. Fantastic writing propels this story about drummer Landon and his struggles with his past and fame which are tragic, heartbreaking and very realistic. His career came before Piper in the past but will she forgive him? That’s a huge ask with all the hurt she went through. These two are wonderful together as they work to get beyond the pain and heartbreak of addiction and former grievances. So emotional, heart wrenching and ultimately triumphant. Worth the read. 4.5 stars

I ended,up enjoying this book overall, but found the first half to be very slow. It was very little rock star, and a lot of protesting about why they can't be together. Which gets, old, really quickly. The second half was much more interesting. I liked it enough that I will keep my eye out for the third book of this series.

Piper Hastings has spent years trying to avoid the boy who broke her heart. It’s increasing hard these day as his band “Nothing But Trouble” is one of her biggest clients.

As if her life couldn’t get any more complicated, she’s now assigned to help Landon clean up his chaotic life after one of his infamous benders is splashed all over the tabloids.

Keeping him at arm’s length and being the consummate professional should be easy after all these years. But there has never been anyone who has ever owned her body and soul like the dangerously sexy drummer.

“Landon Cox taught me what love felt like, even how it tasted.
Our love was like the first sip of celebratory champagne, the first bite of chocolate soufflé. Bubbly and decadent, so good I didn’t know when to stop. Devouring it until I was sick.
Lovesick.
And I never wanted to feel that way again.”

Landon Cox set out for fame and fortune and he got far more than he asked for. His band’s stratospheric success means that money and girls are as plentiful and disposable. His heart has been off limits since he left the only girl he’s ever loved and never looked back.

But now he needs her help more than ever before. It’s supposed to be only until he’s well enough to get back behind the drum kit, but he’s going to try to convince Piper that they can again have it all.

“Piper and I were so much alike that we were exact opposites. Mirror images.
But looking at her now, I saw the cracks. Tiny fissures where I just might be able to slip through.
If she let me.
If I wanted to.
Would she?
Did I?
Fuck, yeah. More than anything.”

In Rock Legend, Tara Leigh masterfully creates a one of a kind chemistry between her characters and then fans the flames until it blazes out of control!

The execution is superb. From the storyline to the way it makes you feel every word, this is one rock star romance that has enough spark to light the entire summer sky...

I had a feeling Landon and Piper had a history and it's not pretty. Being young, decisions made has left things wrong and now long time has past since they've met and well with Landon's playboy and partier reputation from his rise to fame, I get why Piper was avoiding him. I'm curious about Landon's issues and why he's avoiding anything serious. Even Piper knows not to trust this second chance but for finding her own answers to hers. Landon's bad boy ways are famous to his fans and groupies and he did partake of that so it's gonna be hard to win the girl this time.

I like both characters, they have colorful backstories. After getting to know Piper in Rock King but it scratched the surface, here we know she's had a complicated upbringing then with the initial break up was hard but the girl is loyal and spirited. Landon with all his bad boy rocker ways, he actually has softer side he keeps hidden and only shows it for his girl. This whole unresolved thing for them just shows how much they still feel for the other.

They navigated a bunch of curveballs thrown at them, they were established early on as a couple then went through ups and downs. Getting through the drama was not a piece of cake. It made them stronger and better this time around after things get sorted. I actually felt bad for Landon when the family part is revealed he needed a hug. I'm enjoying this rocker series, it has all the elements of a good one. I definitely recommend if you enjoy a good rockstar read. I look forward to Dax's book.

This is the second book in the Anything but Trouble series and it did not disappoint. I could not put this book down!

Landon Cox is the drummer for the band Nothing But Trouble. He appears to everyone to be a playboy and life of the party but behind closed doors he is a loner and hiding from his past and wondering what could have been with the girl he left behind years ago Piper Hastings.

Piper Hastings moved to LA to work for a PR agency, the same agency that looks after the band. She had managed to avoid Landon for a few years but when she was assigned to the band to help Shane's girlfriend it was only a matter of time before their paths crossed. Piper is still hurt and wondering why Landon left years ago without a word. When their paths cross backstage at a concert one night the fire and passion is still there.

Will they be able to have a second chance and overcome what has happened in the past along with the current problems?

What a poignant, and steamy, second chance romance! Piper and Landon fell in love in college when Landon was a struggling musician. Landon disappeared one night without an explanation, leaving Piper heartbroken. Now years later they are thrown back into each other's orbit and are given a second chance. They realize their attraction is stronger than ever and their chemistry is still explosive. Landon has lived with deep regret for choosing music over Piper and jumps at his chance to make things right with the only woman he's ever loved. Piper doesn't see the 'Rock God' but the orphaned boy who just wants to be loved. When he needs her help, she will do what it takes to protect him.
But Piper is tired of making her decisions based on a man in her life. She is determined to have Landon on her own terms. They find their way back to each other but still have so much to overcome. I liked that it wasn't easy but a journey that tore down their walls to rebuild a stronger foundation.
I love Ms. Leigh's writing and how she covered sensitive issues with honesty and empathy. I especially love the ending. This is a beautiful story that is heartrending, complex, and very sexy. I am really falling for the men from Nothing But Trouble and the strong women who love them, and can't wait for more!

As a fan of rock star romances I would consider Ms. Leigh one of the best in her crafting of the Nothing But Trouble series as it packs an emotional punch through its engaging characters and raw and gritty depiction of fame. With each installment we become more invested in the lives of these flawed musicians and root for them every step of the way. In this newest installment two people get a second chance to find the HEA that alluded them six years ago, while dealing with new pain over an injury that could end everything for the hero.

Landon Cox grew up in the foster care system, the son of addicted parents, always keeping his heart hidden as he never thought he’d be worthy of a family. Finding a family of his own changes his life irrevocably though, opening his heart to love but breaking it too after a horrible tragedy sent him running from the pain. He luckily stumbled across his bandmates and they became their own kind of family, one that embraced their individual pain while creating new problems associated with fame and fortune. At a crossroads, Landon found the sweet and picture perfect Piper and for two months his life was happy and fulfilling until devotion to his band had him leaving her behind. He never forgot her though. Each one-night stand was an attempt to excise her from his soul, but he could never replace her. An unexpected reunion has him doing all he can to claim her, revisiting his past and sharing his pain, in an attempt to be worthy of her. Just when they seem on the path to HEA, his anger and self-judgment lead to tragedy and could very well end the career that has defined him and given him self-worth. Landon’s the quintessential rock star in both looks and attitude. He’s a bit cocky, a bit arrogant, but also sexy and charming. It’s a delicious mask hiding the raw pain of a past that won’t ever let go of him as he continues to carry guilt over something not his fault. He desperately wanted to get Piper back in his life and the moments of joy and contentment seen when they were together were immensely satisfying. It was a difficult recovery for him, both physically and emotionally, but one that pulled me in wholeheartedly. It had me cheering him on as he was a man deserving of love and happiness after all the pain he dealt with throughout his life.

Piper Hastings’s childhood was also rough as the lies surrounding her birth had her father treating her and her mother with indifference. It was abuse through subtle hatred and left both women with self-esteem issues that affect them still. Growing up Piper tried in vain to earn her father’s love by being the perfect daughter, the top of her class and beloved by all. Living up to that perfect mold was difficult though and had her always doubting her appeal. Finding Landon she thought she finally found HEA. He loved her unconditionally, loved her perfectly coiffed but messy even more in a romance that was sweet and sensual. Leaving her without a word broke her heart and once again left her self-esteem in shambles with her turning towards a man clearly not in love with her. She now just wants to live a safe life, one where she keeps her heart hidden. Being around Landon again makes it difficult to keep her heart indifferent as he slowly works his way back into her heart and soul as their romance goes down a rocky road to HEA. Piper’s an immensely appealing heroine, hard working, and caring despite all the bruises inflicted on her heart. It’s clear she longs to be with him but her past has taught her to be cautious, and despite their erotically-charged encounters, there’s a sense of her holding back at times. Being with him has her no longer chasing after someone else’s idea of perfection, she now defines herself in her own terms and I applauded her finally becoming empowered.

Second chance romances make for powerful reads as there’s already a strong foundation for the main couple to build on. Ms. Leigh built a memorable foundation for Piper and Landon, one of joy but also heartbreak, as young love was torn asunder. They’re both older and wiser now and it makes their journey even more of a gut-punch as the past is revealed along with new issues that made them even more vulnerable. Landon’s a delicious hero, sweet and sexy, whose addictions are growing stronger. It had me aching for him as he hit rock bottom before rising back up in a very satisfying conclusion. Piper’s a good support for him, putting aside her own pain when he needs her most. They’re a crackling couple in scenes both scorching and sentimental as they easily picked up where they left off. I enjoyed the glimpses we got of the other members of Nothing But Trouble too. I enjoyed their brotherly banter and their gritty and exhilarating moments on stage that pulled me on stage beside them. As the story progressed, things changed dramatically for both Piper and Landon, forcing them into seeing themselves in a much different light. The epilogue was near perfect and gave me all sorts of warm fuzzies that put an exclamation point to all that came before. This series continues to shine with characters that I truly care about as romance is beautifully balanced with intense emotions that pull at reader’s heartstrings. Though this book can be read on its own, this series is made richer by reading each installment and growing closer to each of these unforgettable bandmates.

I knew it. I just knew I would Love it. And I was not disappointed.
Rock Legend was just what I expected and so much more than I even thought to expect.
I expected so much because I had already read Rock King my review is here. As part of a series I was delighted to see the other characters brought back. Don't think you have to read Rock King.
Each of the books in the series are written as a stand alone.
It was nice to see some of the other characters from the previous book and if my guesses are correct we'll see at least a little more in book 3 about Dex another member of the band.
Rock Legend was a bit of a surprise for me. Since I had already met the characters I think I had a few expectations. I have to admit Tara Leigh met them and gave me much more by giving us some great well developed characters.
Albeit Landon has some Alot of issues deep down he is a great guy.
Once he sorts things out he becomes the man he is meant to be.
Having had a troubled childhood and then getting into a good foster family as a teenager things start getting good until a tragedy strikes causing Landon to run from the home.
All goes well as he becomes a member of the band and he is off to stardom and all that goes with. But Landon is troubled by his past and makes some decisions that play into the grief and confusion he tries to ignore.
Then Piper happens into his life again.
As Piper tries to ignore the sparks and sizzle Landon tries to fan the flames and persuade Piper to take a chance on him.
Through some twists and turns and the two finally get together in the end.
There are lots of sparks and my jazzy grandma would really blush and think twice about this one. But the story is so good I'd tell
'Granny get a fan and a glass of wine and enjoy the read'.

Rock Legend is a great read. I loved this story and look forward to the next one in the series.

4 My Home CROWNS

Rock Legend is the second stand alone in the Nothing But Trouble series, and the journey of Landon and Piper is so sweet and sexy. Watching these two broken people find redemption in each other's arms and a home together is perfection.

Landon was a broken boy who grew up into a broken man.  He carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, and, as result, lives a life that punishes himself.  His choices are made based on his self perception and what he thinks he deserves. What readers get to see is a man who has to realize his self worth and find that he is worthy of a family and love. Readers are going to love him and all his pieces.

Piper is another sad soul who has lived a life feeling completely unwanted. She once thought she found someone who would love her, and that shattered, which has left her a bit guarded. What readers are going to love about Piper is who they get to see her become. She, by he end of the book, is stronger and doesn't find her worth in others but in herself. She is better able to love when she realizes this is enough.

Rock Legend is a romance. It follows the typical broken manwhore and the woman he left behind, but it is more about finding a home. These two are so lost, searching for someone to love and to feel worthy of that love. Watching these two deal with their demons, heal, and find their home with each other is so rewarding, and at the end of the story I was left with a feeling of contentment.

Rock Legend is a romance that is filled with hope - the promise that you can find a group of people who will love you uncondicitionally, that there are always second chances when it comes to the heart, and that love can heal the soul. Tara Leigh is creating a family with this group of rockers, and I am loving every minute of it.
