A very fun and exciting story. The situations were hot and inventive. I liked that all the brothers and Amelie were portrayed as individual characters. I would definitely read more by this author.
This was the most extreme book i have read in reverse harem . The topic was bit weird for me . Seven brothers - one girl ? i didn't feel there was any romantic communication between the brothers and the girl . Yet they fell hardly for her .
I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. IT IS A MUST READ. I started it and never stopped until I was at the end! SIMPLY DELICOUS!. I loved every tasty morsel!
While I fell in overwhelming love with the characters of this book, and the hints of worldbuilding that exist behind the scenes, I felt like the pacing could use a good deal of work and ultimately the ending left me wanting more.
Eh... I have such mixed opinions of this story. It's the second book by this author I've read and I'm beginning to see a trend. The author is strong at writing intimacy scenes, but not so strong at character development.
From the title and cover of this book, it sounds as if you're watching a porn movie. Well, the book isn't so far off from that. The sex is constant in this book, as in she literally goes from one to another to another and so on. And of course there's no discussion about protection or what would happen if.
I think this story is so far out of left field that it's impossible to relate to any of the characters. The main female character's back story was definitely intriguing: her rich father has controlled much of her life and now wants to marry her off to some guy for business purposes who is 30 years older than her. Interesting right? That's about the only part of the book that is realistic.
7 brothers... if the author wanted this to be realistic, how about decreasing the number of male characters involved? Two brothers would have made this book much more realistic, hell three would be a stretch but it would still be possible. 7 is just not realistic. There's no way that all 7 would be so agreeable, that all 7 would fall for the same woman, that all 7 would never be jealous. I just don't buy it.
As I mentioned the book lacks character development. We get a little bit of each of the brother's back story, but not enough that we truly feel invested in them. There's not much said about why she chose the brothers... how close were they before she showed up on their door? The feelings that are developed seem way too quick and built on nothing but pure sex.
WOW! you are bound to get burnt. Overall a good story with lots of heat. Ember Cole has done it again with a solid story.
A rich but not spoiled young woman is being forced by her father to marry an old guy, so she runs away to a ranch run by seven brothers, hoping one of them will make her no longer a virgin.
Reverse harem is the latest rage in erotica. Hard to say what makes a good one, at least as far as the sex scenes, but you basically know how the story is going to end. It’s mostly about how the brothers handle having to share her. A lot of times it’s hard to tell all the men apart, even more so when there’s seven of them, but in this case it’s pretty good, especially with the twins.
The ending takes place six months later, with the real conclusion, especially with her father, barely mentioned in passing. That’s annoying, and seems cheap.
A reverse harem book that features a 20 year old virgin looking for someone to help her experience love seeks the help from seven brothers. Who will find love?
This is a M/F book that has a lot of steamy scenes as the focus of the story is her experiencing sex. The characters don't have enough time to develop deeper relationships in a short amount of time. But definitely want to please Amelie and give her a few days she'll never forget.
3 stars
Hmmm..Y I K E S .... where do I begin....
I've read some really amazing books lately, including other RH books, but this was something else. There is hardly any character development, and it just felt unrealistic.
like "hey i've come to your ranch, so one of you 7 can take my virginity"
honestly why this ranch? why these men?
It was just awkward. interesting concept but needed more.
It didn't feel like a Reverse Harem... I've read some good ones... and then there is this one.... poorly done RH... felt like a gang bang... it was... not what i was expecting
Dont get me wrong., the book had some really good qualities. I liked all of the brothers. I kinda liked Amelie, she isnt the typical girl with a rich daddy, from the bit of character development there was, she seemed like a really good girl.
AND of course, the sex was smoking hot! Honestly about 85% of the book was sex scenes, which if youre looking for that then this is the book for you!
Well, I can say that this book delivered what was promised, so I can´t complain about it.
It is a reverse harem story about seven brothers and a virgin girl. And there is nothing else beyond that.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to think with the title and premise of the book. But I am always willing to give a book a chance. I am really glad I did! It was so well written, so well handled. It could have been a mess with seven Maddox brothers and her. But each individual encounter was respectful and loving. And when they all came together it wasn’t all out sex fest, it was actually very loving and romantic. Well done by this author!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.
Well, let me start off by saying, I'm kinda glad I continued reading after one and a half chapters, but at the same time, I won't be able to unread this/what did I just finish read, oh my god.
Honestly, the first chapter will really make you pause and make you consider continuing to read on. I mean, I don't want to spoil anything but who am I kidding, the title literally spoils it, Seven Brothers and a Virgin!!
My take on the first one and a half chapters: 'virgin girl' drives to ranch, gets stranded while driving to ranch, walks about mile to ranch in a storm, when asked "Why would you come to the ranch?", 'virgin girl' responds: "I need y'all to take my virginity", oh but why would you want that!?! Because 'virgin girl' is tired of having her rich/powerful daddy control her life, because she doesn't want to marry her daddy's friend, who mind you is about 20-30 years older than her.
Honestly at this point after reading all that, I was like instant 2-3 stars. It felt so unrealistic, in my opinion, but whatever. And let me just say, some how it works out in her favour at the end. Also, I have so many questions like why this ranch? why these specific men? why not some random guy at a coffee shop? or a guy from a club?
Also, the sex was like every two seconds. I mean, sure 'lets just fuck for 30hrs' no problem.
*wakes up* fucks one of the brothers, then another joins in, and so on. Honestly, it was basically a gang bang.
The only good thing about this book is the very, very detail sex scenes. There was hardly any character development, but the tiny bit of development was good, I think.
Also, the predicable-ness of the story! I mean c'mon! The foreshadowing when they brothers had the conversation of "When she gets pregnant, what do we do?" Let me just say, the brothers all agreed that it doesn't matter who the father is, they will all be the baby's dad. [kinda weird.. and unrealistic IMO. Nothing is that SIMPLE! They are bound to have problems in the future!]. And in the epilogue she brings the brothers news of her pregnancy, she's freaking out about it, and they brothers are like "OHH dont worry!!! EVERYTHING will bE FiNe!!!"
Geeez, it sounds like I really disliked this book, I actually quite enjoyed it, but again there were so many things that were just..... ya know...
If you like, mindless/non-developed characters, reverse harem books and complete erotica then this book is for you. I recommend it, but only to those of you who like this sort of thing.
Amelie has decided to defy her father’s wishes in style by appealing to his enemies, the seven Maddox brothers, for help. They can’t resist her appeal but her appearance causes tension amongst the brothers. Exactly as it says in the title with a good telling. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was the first book I read from author Ember Cole and overall I liked her writing. The book flowed well and held my attention. I just think the story was very far fetched. I mean I should have figured that out from the title and synopsis- but the way that the story ended up going it just wasn't realistic at all. I would say this book was more of a fantasy genre than anything else.
Seven Brothers and a Virgin is going to singe your fingers while holding your Kindle, it's *that* hot. There are lots of sexy shenanigans going on as a sassy, determined innocent sets her sights on seven brothers to help her lose her virginity.
I have to admit this book surprised me. When I first started it, maybe I was cranky, maybe it was the book, but after the first chapter I wasn't sure if I could finish it. But I decided to persevere. I'm glad I did because what I thought could potentially be a very trashy read turned out to be quite fun although the sex was over the top. Fair warning, there's A LOT of sex. I mean, A LOT. Like every chapter, A LOT. And every combination of a girl and several guys you can think of!!!
With all the sex in the book, I thought it would be light on character and relationship development but I was wrong. Yes, it's instalust, they get naughty very fast, and things happen rapidly in the space of a few days, but the saving grace for this book is that Ms Cole has written chapters from all the guys' POVs as well as Amelie's. You get a good view into everyone's personalities and desires with them all getting equal page time. The brothers all had very distinct personalities from responsible, brooding Vance, to Jesse the peacemaker, Tanner the artist, Jackson the investment banker, Reed the moody ex-soldier, and playful, cheeky twins Memphis and Greyson. With their respective chapters, Ms Cole was able to give depth to their characters and really allow the reader to get to know them as people.
Most importantly, Amelie wasn't just a spoiled, rich brat trying to spite her father and get rid of her virginity. She was sassy and strong-willed while being innocent and adventurous. She could have easily been reduced to a sex object with so many men vying for her attention and lusting after her body, but she holds her own. She cares about the men and is drawn to their individuality and their quirks as she gets to know them.
One thing though, as much as I've read in the reverse harem genre and as much as I enjoy it, I think seven men is too many. It's difficult to wrap my head around. It will be hard to find quiet, alone time and on top of that, I keep thinking it's gotta be hard to keep so many men satisfied without walking with perpetual tenderness around the nether regions. And honestly, I kinda felt like for Amelie's first time, it was a bit like a gang bang, which kinda took away from the romanticism of the act.
Overall, I enjoyed it. I think this was meant more as erotica than erotic romance but there was just enough romance to satisfy me even if it was a very light touch. I think I'd read more by Ms Cole but I'd prefer less men in the mix.
Very short and very steamy. This definitely falls in the erotic category, with silly things like plot and characters falling by the wayside. Not bad, but it is definitely fantasy!
I’ve recently started reading reverse harem books and I’m finding out that I liked them!
This story between Amelie and the seven Maddox brothers is so hot! Amelie is kind of Texas royalty. She escapes her home when her father wants to marry her with his business partner, a man three times her age. She plans to lose her virginity in her own way, and that’s how she ends at the ranch where the brothers live. What she wants is to lose her virginity to one for them but surprise surprise she’s attracted to all of them!! Each one of the brothers has his own personality. I really liked the twins, Memphis and Greyson, they were the happy-crazy touch in the book! My favorite brother is Vance; he’s a quiet force in the house and does everything in his power to help his brothers. I can understand why Amelie was first attracted to him!
The books is full of steamy scenes between Amelie and one or more of the brothers. A sinfully sexy reverse harem book that you should pick up today!!
I was granted a copy of the book via NetGalley and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
Scandalous! I adore the brothers and man, how I wish each brothers get their own stories. The writing is surprisingly good and not "cheap" like any other menage themed romance. I actually feel the connection between the brothers and Amelie, though I honestly think Amelie will end up with Vance.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and I look forward to read more from this author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A semi fast burn, which I loved. I enjoyed getting to know the brothers, loved Amelie from the start.
Seven Brother and a Virgin was my first reverse harem book, I am so glad I chose this one.
A book with smoking hot moments and a great story line, what more could you ask for?
Seven Brothers and a Virgin by Ember Cole this is the story of Kymber and the 7 Maddox brothers.
Kymber is young women whose father is making her marry a older man for a business arrangement and to further her fathers lifestyle. Not wanting to marry the man at all she runs away headed for the
Broken Creek Ranch where the 7 hot brothers are. Although she has never really met them she feels one would be willing to help her get her Virgin status gone. But what she doesn't expect is to feel desire for all the brother nor does she think they would all want her too.
This was a great fantasy type romance that I really enjoyed. Hope to read more by this author soon!
