I loved this story and look forward to reading more by the author. The characters were amazing and well developed and the plot had me hooked from the very beginning. A sweet story that I did not want to put down.
Christmas In Evergreen by Nancy Naigle Wonderful feel good Christmas story. Lovely, charming characters and a beautiful town. Filled with the spirit of the Holiday with not a Scrooge in sight.
Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.
I love this amazing, feel good, small town Christmas romance. A small town vet with an old red pickup truck preparing to move to DC, a widower with a darling daughter passing through town, a mysterious snow globe and Christmas - what's not to like. Well written, believable characters in this tale of stopping to figure out what your heart really wants. I enjoyed this book and hated to reach the end.
This isn’t the time of year when I normally indulge in Christmas stories, but this was so irresistible that it wouldn’t have mattered when I read it. Like Allie, I grew up with a love of everything holiday. The baking. The decorating. The sense of family and community when everyone gets together to celebrate. And like Ryan, the losses of important people in my life have taken the shine off the holiday season. This book took me back to a time when I was completely enchanted with the magic of Christmas. When everything is possible, and wishes can come true.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.
Nancy Naigle has once again hit a home run in in the feel good holiday stories. A must read. Full of love and laughter and the feeling of being wrapped in holiday delight. Always sure to please and leaving feeling like you were part of the story.
Christmas in Evergreen was a light, fun, feel good read. If you love Hallmark movies you will love reading this book. The characters come to life on the pages. Nancy Naigle tells a wonderful story with a happy ending.
I can not say enough how much it means to be to be able to review Hallmark's books. This one was not an exception. Nancy Naigle tells a story that when you read it you feel as if you are right there with the characters. Thank you to the publishers and Nancy for allowing me to read and review this book. Have loved the shows and can't wait for the next one, along with another great read.
Thank you Net Galley for an awesome read.
I am truly a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies and was so excited to see this request.
While I did watch this movie this past holiday season
this book made the characters real,
I felt as though I was in the town of Evergreen, the descriptions,
~The town loved Christmas all year round~
I loved the added chapter for an alternate spin
This was my second book by Nancy Naigle. After reading one of her stories, I knew she would be added to my favorite authors listing.
Christmas in Evergreen is a lovely, wholesome, romance story. I enjoyed it for a light read with a good plot that did not have the customary disagreement/drama. I understand that is the normal plot line of a romance story. To have "the meeting", "the attraction", "the drama/disagreement" and then "the resolution". It was refreshing to have a difference from the norm.
The basis of the story line of this book is that the grass is not always greener. Sometimes the grass, where you are living is perfectly green enough.
Allie had the thought ingrained in her from her beloved grandfather that she needed to explore other areas and not stay a small town woman in Evergreen, all her life.
When the opportunity arose to take a job in a large city, she took it, then before moving was having second thoughts. Added to that was the long distance relationship Allie was having with Spencer. She did not know if this relationship was her "meant to be" for the future.
Meanwhile Ryan is trying to ease the pain of losing his wife a year ago before Christmas and shield his daughter Zoe from more hurt. He has the best intentions, but unfortunately a bad plan to spend this Christmas away from all things "Christmasy". Zoe makes a wish on the snow globe when a snow storm keeps them in Evergreen instead of on a plane to Florida. The snow globe sees into Zoe's heart and works magic to make her heart-wish come true.
This book was made into a Hallmark movie. I did not see the movie yet. The entire time I was reading, I could picture what the movie would be like and I look forward to seeing it.
I recommend this book for all those that enjoy a wholesome romantic book without the silly drama/disagreement and sex scenes.
I want to thank NetGalley.com and Hallmark Publishing for the opportunity to read this wonderful Christmas story. I totally enjoyed my time in Evergreen, Vermont and hope my review helps other find this gem.
Boasting a sleek cover, Christmas in Evergreen is a feel-good novel that truly delivers on its promise: a sweet romance with a touch of snow globe magic.
The text flows so well it only took me a few days to finish the book. I thought it contained all the main ingredients for a great Christmas story. The main character Allie is lovely and endearing, just like the little Zoe. Overall, the book offers a nice moment of escapism in a picture perfect small town. Although I reckon there were some odd moments. How far-fetched is it that Allie would send her love interest (if not official partner) to a country inn instead of letting him stay at home with her? After all, he’s the man for whom she’s supposed to move to D.C. to see if they can make things work! I thought it was a very odd turn of events. In any case, it was quite obvious these two were never meant for each other. For the sake of plausibility, I just wish the author would have made this slightly less clear.
But, who can resist a star-crossed love story? I enjoyed that the author went deeper in the characters’ inner turmoils compared to the movie. You really get a sense of what they’re going through, and all the angst they have to resolve to finally understand where they each belong.
Christmas in Evergreen is a moving story about love and family, best savoured with some hot cocoa and your fave holiday tunes in the background.
Cannot wait to read another Hallmark Christmas book for some feel-good holiday romance.
A wonderful Christmas feel good, make you laugh, make you cry love story. Ms. Naigle has a gift in painting the perfect setting for this fun holiday read.
This was a really lovely and very, very Christmas-feeling book, very sweet and gentle with great characters. I can definitely understand why it's also a Hallmark movie, even though I haven't watched it, but I definitely plan on remedying that this year!
Allie is the town vet, well she was as she is just moving to Washington to be with her boyfriend, high-flying Spencer, who she has been having a long-distance relationship with. She feels she should make the effort to broaden her horizons and has a new job in DC, even though she owned and ran her own vet practice in Evergreen.
Ryan and his daughter Zoe are on their way to Florida for Christmas. Ryan's wife died just before Christmas last year and so Christmas was understandably very sad and he wants to make sure it's really happy for his daughter this year. He feels that getting away from the cold and snow to Florida is completely different and the best thing, even though Zoe's not so sure.
Allie bumps into Ryan and Zoe whilst still in Evergreen, as they stopped on their way to the airport and 'helped' to start her truck, then bumped into them again at the airport when they were all leaving Evergreen. But through a variety of mishaps - bad weather, cancelled flights and rock-slides - they all end up back in Evergreen for Christmas and help with the yearly Christmas Festival.
During all this Allie starts having second thoughts about leaving her beloved Evergreen, and Ryan and Zoe eventually fall in love with Evergreen and don't want to leave either.
This is just such a warm fuzzy feeling Christmas story, with lovely characters, lots of snow, a magic snow globe and... is that Santa himself wandering around Evergreen?! I don't normally re-read books, but this is one I think is just perfect to re-read every year to get you in the Christmas spirit. Just lovely.
Such a festive and heartwarming read made me in the mood for hot chocolate a cozy fire and a Christmasy candle! Perfect read to get you in the holiday mood
Oh I liked this book a lot! Evergreen sounds like a wonderful small town. This was a heart warming holiday story that I totally enjoyed.
I loved the town of Evergreen and the connection of the characters and the magic. I'm not usually a fantasy reader, but the story felt natural and not forced at all. Allie, Ryan, and Zoe were so easy to fall in love with and connect to. I recommend this more of a Christmas read than a Christmas in July read (when it was published) but you don't have to love the season to love this story.
Christmas in Evergreen by Nancy Naigle
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book. This was a fantastic read. I love Hallmark films and when I found out their was a book based on the film, I was very excited to devour it.
I will not give any spoilers. I love a great Christmas story and this was it. It holds the readers interest from the first to the last page. I highly recommend you read this book. You don’t have to wait for the holidays to read something that is special like this one.
Christmas in Evergreen by Nancy Naigle Review.
A slow burn, but worth the wait.
It took me a while to get into this story, I don’t know if it was because I built up the excitement in my head, or because it was written and paced a little differently to what I’m used to, but I eventually fell in love with this story.
Don’t take my comments about it being different as something bad, it’s not. I loved the characters, well not Spencer, but the rest and I loved the town and most importantly the ending, but it was just a little slow in places and chances are that is just me and no reflection on the author.
Read and honestly reviewed thanks to #NetGalley and #Hallmark Publishing
Loved this book so much!!! It definitely got me into the Christmas mood and made me want to rug up in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and eat sugar cookies. Being a huge fan of Hallmark Christmas movies, this book definitely gave me the same warm and fuzzy feelings that the movies do.
The book is about magic at Christmas time, and knowing where you belong. The main characters - Allie, Ryan and Zoe are so sweet and lovely that I just wanted to give them massive hugs. My favorite character however, is Nick - the author did such a great job with the character that all I wanted to do is give him a extra big hug!
Definitely a fun easy read and will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit!
I was given this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was drawn to this book because of its cover - the festive red truck decorated for the season in the snow just screamed Christmas to me. Kudos on that. The book was just as delightful! I did not watch the movie on Hallmark so this was completely new to me.
Allie is considering leaving her veterinary practice and her hometown of Evergreen to move to DC to see if she and her on and off boyfriend can make a go of it. Ryan is trying to take his daughter Zoe to Florida to make new memories since her mother died a year ago.
Yes,new all know where this is going, but honestly getting there was so sweet. I loved this book and can't wait to get to watch this movie this holiday season!
I want to live in Evergreen! Fans of Christmas Hallmark movies will not only love this book but also the movie.
Allie lives in the small town of Evergreen where Christmas is everything to the town's residents. She loves her town but thinks it might be time to see what life in the big city is like.
Ryan is a widower and dad to Zoe. They're heading to Florida when they become stranded in Evergreen.
Allie and Ryan work together to make it an extra special Christmas for Zoe with the help of a magical snow globe.
Such a feel good story! The main characters are so likable, the town of Evergreen is dreamy, and the townspeople are the kind of neighbors I want.
