Reporting In by Vanessa North is a workplace, Kinky Romance.
This dirty, quick story will melt your kindle. Really loved it and recommend it to all readers.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. This book was a quick, one-sitting read that was pretty good, but not one of my favorites.

Reporting In is a scorching hot, quick read with an office romance and a dash of humour. What starts out for Steven and his boss, Jake, as a bit of hanky panky in the office after-hours evolves into something more serious. I love a good office romance or in this case, office erotica.
This is a Dirty Bits novel from Carina Press and it is absolutely filthy dirty and made for great fun Saturday night reading. I’ve made trip to the publisher’s website and discovered there are other Dirty Bits novels. I will definitely be checking them out and I hope they are just as good as Reporting In.

This series of Dirty Bits has given us another hot and steamy short read. Be prepared for the sex to start from the beginning and the story to take a few minutes to catch up... but rest assured it is worth it!
Here two men who work together stretch their boss/employee relationship into a D/s one, and when they realise that it is more than just sex, need to decide how they can make it work. Steven is feeling very vulnerable, and when Jake starts to make career suggestions, a misunderstanding threatens to spoil everything.
I really enjoyed this short read – it was a good mix of heat and passion, as well as having a decent underlying plot, which was used to create a satisfying twist.
Quick and fast paced erotic read that takes office liaisons to the next level. Enjoyed reading all about Jake and Steven and how they made their relationship work.
Although this book is on the short side when it comes to the length of the story, it still manages to bring plenty of sexy between Jake and Steven.
o... in Reporting In, Steven is an employee in HR who reports to Jake. Steven is attracted to Jake and when they discover the feeling is mutual, they engage in some sexual encounters in the office. I have to admit that at first the office relationship felt really inappropriate to me. It is addressed between Steve and Jake, but still, they are riding a very fine line that could really get them in trouble.
That being said, Reporting In is steamy, kinky M/M title that did keep me engaged and entertained throughout the book. While it didn't take long to read, it had plenty of emotional content both in and out of the bedroom (so to speak, since some of their encounters take place in the office). I did like that their sexy times together brought them closer together emotionally and there became more to their relationship than just their physical encounters.
There's a bit of drama at the end that could signal the end of the good times, but there is a nice happy-for-now ending that I really liked.
If you are looking for a quick M/M read that has some definite kink to it, Reporting In might be what you are looking for.

this was pretty good, a short and punchy little erotic romance between a boss and his employee. i thought the whole boss/employee thing was handled very well, because there's clearly a power imbalance there so the relationship could have got unhealthy, but jake (the boss) was always checking in on steven to make sure he was okay with everything. the mild conflict at the end was that classic miscommunication trope, which was slightly annoying and was solved in a kind of deus ex machina way, but i still enjoyed it overall.
4 Stars!
This was such a hot, dirty, little story! While there were a few things about Jack and Steven's relationship that made me a tad uncomfortable, especially at first, there's a lot of power play and kinky stuff, but it's balanced out with some sweet, passionate moments.
For the most part, I found the book entertaining and I was completely invested in Jack and Steven finding a way to both keep their jobs and their relationship, which for a 14k words book is quite a feat. Recommendable!

Okay so this hot and sexy and kinky but I had one or two problems with it and one was that it ended so soon. I mean, it was over at 75% of the book. The other one was the word 'cunt' as a reference to male part? I mean it was weird to read about 'cunt' in a m/m story with no...woman or unpleasant person around. So I guess, in general it was good but this was kind of...annoying.
Wow, I haven't read anything by Vanessa North before, but I definitely need to change that! In my mind, this novella perfectly fulfills what I look to the Dirty Bits line for - steamy read that introduces me to a new author. It's also the first m/m one I've read in this line, and I'm definitely hoping for more LGBT reads. Here's hoping for an f/f one next!
While I like reading workplace romances, I'm also very sensitive to power differentials between the two main characters. It reads like an easy way to introduce conflict into their relationship, and sometimes it's used in lieu of providing more substance to the characters. While that trope is used in this book, both characters were very aware of it, so I think it was well done.
Jake is into some pretty kinky stuff, including chastity play, which I was previously pretty unfamiliar with. I like that it showed Steven's initial ambivalence about some of it as well as how he comes to trust Jake. While there's a lot of kinky sex, there's also some correspondingly sweet and emotionally intense parts that I felt were equally well done.
Overall, I think this was a fun and steamy novella, perfect for someone who's looking for some kinky - but quick - BDSM m/m.
I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
While I appreciated the brevity of this book, it didn't quite do it for me. I felt like I didn't get to know the characters enough to really care about them or their burgeoning relationship. Not my cup of tea, but may be someone else's!
Note to self... When I'm craving erotic romance, one-clicking review books might not be the best idea. I have been loving Carina's Dirty Bits line lately, so when Reporting In popped up I was sold. Did I look at the synopsis? Nope. Did I look closer at the cover? Nope. All I saw was a sexy guy in a suit. Did I see the second guy with his back facing the camera? That would be a big fat nope. For a girl who has only read 1 other M/M romance in her life, it was a bit of a whoops moment when I realized that I had just one-clicked a M/M erotic romance.
I love erotic romance. Whether it is M/F, M/F/M, or M/M/F, I am good to go. Keep 'em coming...
Out of all the different combinations of bodies, M/M/F tends to be my favorite. And honestly, I need to read more of them. So when I finally realized that Reporting In was a M/M erotic novella, I thought what the hell. I'm craving sexy x100 in my books right now so let's do this. I friggin' loved it. It is sexy AF with characters that are surprisingly well developed for such a short novella. I loved that while they were obviously hesitant to enter a sexual relationship with each other, they still wanted to see where it could lead. I loved that they felt free to explore each other and their desires. It took me a bit by surprise, but I ended up really enjoying the novella. They scorched my Kindle and I was happy as a clam.
Will I start reading more M/M erotic romance? That's a good possibility. Carina's Dirty Bits line has a couple other M/M titles that I'm interested in. For now, I'm glad that I accidentally one-clicked Reporting In. This was my first time reading one of Vanessa North's books and I'm intrigued. We'll see where this leads...
Dirty, sexy short story featuring two male characters. Add the taboo of office romance and the kink of chastity
** spoiler alert **
This novella wasn’t bad but I definitely don’t think it was my cup of tea. I wanted to try something different. I’ve never read chastity play before and I’m ok with rough play. So I gave it a go.
The whole chastity play thing was new to me. Did I enjoy it.. meh... not really.
Their earlier sexapades in Jakes office were ok. I was feeling it. But the silicone cage he kept putting on Steven was more of a life choice I think Jake was looking for in a partner. Steven had mixed feeling about it. I honestly felt like he was just going with it because he knew how much Jake loved putting it on him.
The first time he came with it on... I kinda felt bad for Steve. He had such mixed feelings about it. He really had to think about how he felt about it afterwards.
“It’s terrifying, not anything like a normal orgasm, and not offering any relief.”
“The orgasm, ruined by his cage, has done nothing to quell my desperation to come, but I’m too exhausted and depleted to care.”
“I liked it. I’m scared that I liked it.”
“I stare down at my silicone-encased dick and then into his eyes. It’s the way he asks—giving me the choice—that makes it okay. I’m not sure what he gets out of the chastity play—hell, I’m not even sure what I get out of it yet. But his taking the time, over and over, to make certain I’m on board makes me feel safe and free. Anticipation stirs in my belly.”
I’m ok with exploring something new. But I think maybe a conversation about what it is about the cage that turns Jake on. Since they have been playing with it for a little while now. And this was their first time being together in a more private place (Jake’s house) instead of Jake’s office. I think that would’ve went a long way with Steven.
Well... I’m glad I took a chance on it. And although it wasn’t my cup of tea... I’m sure this kind of kink is someone else’s.
Another awesome Dirty Bits book, but this time M/M! Not only that, but It's a Vanessa North book so I had a feeling I was in for a treat. I was right.
Jake and Steven embark on this very hot and steamy office romance that is way beyond inappropriate, but if they can keep the work politics out of it, they just might be able to make this mutually beneficial. The problem is, feelings were never taking into consideration and those feelings, kind of steered them in the wrong direction for a minute.
This is probably the hottest of the Dirty Bits I've read so far. Jake and Steven are really good together, and they have a great working relationship to boot. If you're looking for a quick and steamy read, pick this one up.
This is a filthy book. North posted on Twitter a while back that it was the dirtiest thing she's ever written and um... accurate.
Anyway... it's an m/m erotic romance with some BDSM elements and lots of office sex. The workplace consent and power imbalance issues are thoroughly addressed by both characters and it's wrapped up in a way that didn't feel icky. (This seems like a major accomplishment given the state of workplace harassment in the news and in litigation these days.)
Some hella hot m/m action!

Sometimes you just have to go for a book you know is going to be loaded with hot men and blazing sex. This book has completely hit the mark .
Just the right length to get you all hot, bothered and wound up, this M/M story is written with just that in mind. Amazing imagery, light on the character development, and heavy on the heat, the story lays it all out for you and in a hot ass manner, so to speak.
This is definitely an author I would read again and again. She knows how to write the dirty bits in life along with the hottie men to go with it.
Holy hamburgers, is it hot in here or is it just me? 🔥
Phew. Okay. Don’t mind me; I’m just a bit… breathless. This week’s read was definitely of the “high heat” variety, and all I can say is… gimme more! Hot dayyyum. Reporting In, by Vanessa North, is part of Carina Press’ delectable Dirty Bits line. They promise not only scintillating sex but also a *happy sigh* style HEA, all presented in bite-sized novellas that you can read in a couple of hours or less.
Ms. North did not fail to provide all of the above and more. Not only was the chemistry off the charts between her two male leads, but the scenes she portrayed were kinky and delicious with a side of sweet and delightful. I adore how she portrays Jake and Steven’s dip and swerve into the unspoken world of BDSM. Neither calls it that, but the power play at hand fits it snugly into that yummy realm. There is a beyond satisfactory level of hot-as-hades kink, while also assuring clear consent and providing a beautiful look at the much-needed aftercare so often overlooked in books about BDSM written by those who don’t understand the lifestyle.
White Jake dominates Steven in the sexiest of ways before and during the act, he morphs into a caring, supportive lover afterward. And the relationship that builds between the two as the pages nearly catch on fire with their lust and scrumptious encounters is utterly divine. For being a novella, I was struck by the development of both the sexual and emotional intimacy between these two characters. It feels real, well-paced, and leaves you rooting for them to have a long and happy future together.
Overall, I was impressed. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys kink, but especially anyone who likes to see BDSM portrayed in a positive, realistic fashion. The book is too short to really touch on the true emotional and mental aspects of the lifestyle, but they’re touched on briefly and accurately.
So, what are you waiting for? Reporting In is available for pre-order or can be purchased for immediate enjoyment on or after its release date, July 30th, 2018!
Until next time,
E 💕
*I RECEIVED AN ARC OF THIS NOVEL VIA NETGALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW*
4 stars for the kink, 3 stars for overall content. The book description says it all. This is a hot, kinky, erotic, m/m office romance. It was very short and easy to read, but felt incomplete. I loved it when Jacob, Steven’s boss, would show his sweet, affectionate, and vulnerable side, while Steven endearingly submitted and yearned to please him. Though the forbidden nature of their relationship was the main conflict, I wasn’t really feeling the sense of danger and suspense that would have made me more emotionally invested in this story. It was neatly written, but I felt dissatisfied in the end. I wanted more and bigger feels, intense emotions. I’ll remember Jacob’s passion and Steven’s submission and all their kink scenes, from the orgasm denial, bondage, role play, erotic photos, and more. It was a fun read, Steven and Jacob were compelling characters, but I just wanted more. It didn’t necessarily have to be longer, but it could have been written more persuasively. The office merger subplot was also confusing and very distracting; it frustrated me that I couldn’t figure it out.
