3.5* I wouldn't quite say that this ends in a HEA - but the guys may get there.
This is what I'd call a fluff read, but it's well done and worth a read, though it's not something I'd keep and read again and again.
It's not quite what the blurb would have you believe, but it does have most of the elements and you do have to suspend disbelief the tiniest bit to enjoy it. I'd have liked the shortest of epilogues with this, not quite the way it ended.
ARC courtesy of Carina Publishing and NetGalley, for my reading pleasure.
This is a short and sweet gay erotica, but it’s definitely worth the read. I finished this in maybe an hour.
I’m very into all kinds of romance and erotica, but this was actually my first gay erotica to read. I love the bondage aspect of this book.
This is a short and sweet erotica, but I loved the story and the ending. Perfect for a short read.
Reporting In is dirty, kinky, and a fun, short read. Large age gap plus opposites attract make this an interesting book from the beginning.
This is a short story or is it a short novella? I prefer to call it a short story. Very hot, with skips to the even hotter stuff. It’s not really a romance as it isn’t long enough to engage the two men in a relationship, but it is a story of attraction over sex. Steamy enough to cause the wallpaper to come off the walls and the sheets to catch fire.
3.5**** This was a good dirty bits read with what started as some kinky sex between the boss Jake and his worker Steven, but what started as some fun could turn into something more.

Highly erotic with traces of mild BDSM and humour.
Jacob had it all, "Body like a god, face like something out of a movie, and a kink for screwing around in dangerous places." Perfect for HR employee Steven, all except the man just happened to be Steven's boss. Will one night flirtation lead to the romance of a lifetime, or will regrets outweigh it all? Highly erotic and short on reading time, this book was finished within an hour and change. I will say one or two things threw me off and gave me pause, but I guess sensualism adds more to a story.
Reporting In is hot like fire. It’s short but packs a punch. It’s an office romance, there’s some D/s and kink, but somehow the author managed to inject some feelings in there too. I think I read it in an hour. It felt super intense but not in an oppressive way. I’d be interested to see what the author could do with longer story. 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.
I didn't really like Reporting In. The story would have benefited from being a longer book. The way the affair started was kind of awkward. There was not real indication that there was an attraction, so it came out of nowhere for me. I would have liked to see more of Steven and Jake together before to really buy into it. The ending was a too convenient. I'm not sure I would really recommend this one.
Not the best thing I’ve ever read, but certainly not the worst either. The resolution was definitely clever.
Thank you NetGalley and Carina for the ARC!
I read this book in an hour and it's such a sweet story, even though it does have a small amount of BDSM. The characters are sweet, and it's really nice to see proper aftercare shown in writing (more than certain books do) and it was just so lovely reading it that I wasn't even mad that it was so short. I absolutely love the writing by this author and I would definitely love to read more.
Reporting In is decidedly dirty and kinky, in all the right ways. Perfect for an afternoon quickie pick-me-up.
A quick kink-stuffed read. A cute one I could say. But stimulating at the same time.
Aside from age-gap and opposites-attract, a story of a boss and employee being involved is my weakness. I haven’t been to the one, but surely it must be a dream come true to some.
This book is almost a pornography written in details and I enjoyed reading about Jake and Steven’s experiments on sex. Both characters obviously knew what they wanted from each other and their lack of hesitation to talk about their sexual needs is one thing I admire from them. The sex boiled up from normal to heat-stroke and there’s already the ‘cage’ before I was ready.
I could say I got more than what I am used to see and less than what the description told me. I was hoping to see more, but what can I say? It has approximately 14k words and there is understandably not enough room to expand the story. But I guess the author managed to write all the important stuffs.
There are soft feelings involved, rules that served as the biggest challenge for Jake and Steven’s relationship and an ending that hinted a good future between them.
I wish this isn’t a micro-romance, so I would witness more Jake and Steven. Being such a dominant or a submissive is always accompanied by a story. Perhaps an experience that leads someone to prefer being dominant or the other way.
Overall, this was a nice and steamy read. It has awakened my senses and encouraged my mind to imagine… things.
***An ARC of this book was provided by the publisher vi Netgalley for an honest review***
It was a short, sweet book, A little too kinky for my taste. And the beginning was a little odd with how their relationship started. But it ended up being cute.
FANTASTIC! Vanessa North! .... you dirty dirty girl! Very well executed. Just the right blend of erotic and feels for a short!
